In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Thundering, echoing footsteps shook the ground with each movement the massive, daunting Heartless made. Behind soulless eyes, the center of Twilight Town was all anyone who bothered to look could see. The monster's approach was slow, but its arrival had been inevitable.
Bayde had seen the monster just seven days ago, and in his scrambling to assemble a defense he found but three people who were prepared for the fight. Hopefully, three would be all the town needed, but the moogle knew better than to be optimistic about these things. It would be a long, hard fight with the numbers the had now. Whatever this...thing was, they would have to be very smart about how they fought if they wanted to get everyone out alive.
The moogle turned his head, showing the side of his face to the group as they watched the creature approach from one of the tall buildings on the edge of town. Even at this height, they were only at about the creature's chest level. There was another tremor as a massive foot slammed into the ground below.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Bayde asked. "The fight ahead will push you all to your limits. It will take Strength, Speed, Fortitude, and Wisdom. You must be more than you are now if you wish to survive, kuu. You can't afford to be people right now. You must steel yourselves into warriors."
The Darkside stilled, its gaze shifting to the three volunteers and Bayde as it did. It seemed to process the threat - or perhaps the hearts the four of them possessed - and the shadowy muscles across its form tensed as it prepared for battle. It crossed its arms, slowly spreading them out as it threw its head back and let out a mighty roar that shook the world with more intensity than its footsteps ever could.

A soldier without an army, a teenage girl without a home, a man-rabbit with a magical remote, and a moogle stood together on a rooftop, watching as the Darkside came closer. The sight of it moving among the buildings brought back memories of both Dryden and Atlantis, where he had seen other Darksides striding among hordes of Heartless. He had brought down several Darkside Heartless before, but there had always been an army there with him.
Now, they were only three.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" The moogle said to the unlikely defenders of Twilight Town, "The fight ahead will push you all to your limits. It will take Strength, Speed, Fortitude, and Wisdom. You must be more than you are now if you wish to survive, kuu. You can't afford to be people right now. You must steel yourselves into warriors."
I am a warrior, Max thought to himself, I barely remember when I wasn’t.
He looked to Avari and Oswald as he thought this. They could both hold their own in a fight, sure, but warriors? Max wasn’t sure. Afterall, he was the only one that carried a real weapon, if Oswald’s remote was discounted. He wracked his brain for a strategy as the immense Heartless caught sight of them and began to slowly lumber in their direction, the ground quaking beneath their feet with each step it took. After a few moments he began to form a plan.
“I think our best option is for me to keep its attention while you guys hammer it with magic,” he said, looking between the rabbit and the girl, “Aim for its legs. If we immobilize it, that will leave it vulnerable and contained.”
As he spoke, he began gathering water from whatever nearby sources he could. It was slow, but between the leaky pipes and standing puddles in the city, he had enough to do what he needed.
He formed a platform out of the water, drew his spear, and flew off toward the large Heartless. He gathered the rest of the water and formed it into spheres around him. As he began closing on the Darkside’s head, he sent the spheres at it in a vicious volley while he circled around behind it and plunged his spear into the base of its neck.
“You face the last son of Dryden!” he screamed at the Heartless as he wrenched the spear free and flew away so as to avoid any counter-attack, “Face me and die!”
As the huge Heartless walked up to the town Oswald readied himself, he grabbed his remote and concentrated on the huge task ahead. As the four stood on the rooftop, Bayde finally spoke up.
Soon Maxwell came up with a plan to distract the Heartless and have them contain the legs. He soon jumped off yelling a battle cry about him being the son of some guy named Dryden. As flew off using water, Oswald jumped off the side of the building and started sliding down the side to get closer to the huge beast. "Avari, try shooting a firebal from there, if not come down here too!" he yelled as he plummeted.
As he reached the bottom he landed on an awning and jumped out hovering over to a balcony where he could get some good shots at the legs. He started firing off electricity towards the left foot. It wouldn't do much to cast blizzard as that would never reach, but possibly he could catch the foo in a dark whisper. It was worth a shot, as he pushed the air forward to cast the spell it shot towards the right foot and kinda went through it. "Guess it doesn't work on this thing."
Avari stood among the group, mouth agape as she stared up at the approaching Darkside. She'd never seen a heartless so massive; she couldn't even imagine how they were going to fight it. Fighting the beast at the mansion had been an ordeal enough, but this? Avari wasn't too sure about their odds, a feeling she wasn't familiar with as she was normally an optimistic and determined girl. There was a slight tremor in her hand as she clutched the hilt of the sword at her side, a hand-and-a-half sword with a black leather hilt, and a purple gem ingrained into the pommel. Avari hadn't spent more than a day or two with this new weapon Jin had forged for her, nor had she even had the opportunity to show it off to Max or Oswald. She had barely started training with it, but hopefully she had learned enough of its magic to make good use in this overwhelming battle. A tremor shook the ground as the giant Heartless took a step forward, and Avari's grip tightened on the blade.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Bayde asked. "The fight ahead will push you all to your limits. It will take Strength, Speed, Fortitude, and Wisdom. You must be more than you are now if you wish to survive, kuu. You can't afford to be people right now. You must steel yourselves into warriors.
Now get going."
With that, Avari felt frozen in place. Max was the first to make a move, telling Oswald and her to focus it with magic while he got its attention before he rose onto a vessel of water and flew towards the Darkside, launching water at it and circling around its side. He let out a fierce battle cry, which Avari would have found to be really cool, if the situation wasn't so dire. Then it was Oswald's turn, telling Avari to shoot from the safety of their perch if she could, and then he jumped off the side and slid down to the ground below, heading closer to the lumbering shadow.
Their failure today could mean the end of Twilight Town, and the heartless would overtake the world just like they had in Radiant Garden, and countless other worlds. She couldn't do anything back then, when she had desperately been trying to protect her brother, but now, things were different. She wouldn't be useless this time around, and now, she had more than a mere toy sword at her side. With this thought, Avari shook herself into awareness, the tremor in her hands fading as she unsheathed her sword. The swish of metal as she drew the blade was something she and her friends dreamed of as kids, when they imagined themselves as heroes and warriors. Now it all had such a different meaning to Avari and in a way, this blade carried some weight with it.
Avari took one last look at Bayde before following Oswald's lead, though taking a bit more caution with her descent by dropping to lower rooftops until she could slide down a pipe to the ground. It was almost second nature to her, all these years spent climbing rooftops and exploring both here in Twilight Town and back home in Radiant Garden. Getting up and down from these high vantage points was nothing new to her. She had been told to stay up out of reach and shoot her magic, but as Max said, they needed to immobilize it, and with this sword, Avari was certain she could do just that.
Seeing Oswald shooting his magic off at one of the legs, Avari ran for the other, readying a strike across the giant's ankle. As she swung the blade, she transitioned from holding it with one hand to two, and the purple gem on the hilt glowed. The blade's weight increased, to the point where it moved in a diagonal swing, through the Darkside's form and into the ground, leaving a crack along the stone's surface. The purple gem grew dim once again, and Avari was then able to lift the blade once more, like it was as light as a feather. She turned to face her target once more, preparing to strike again or to react to what the heartless did next, whichever became more pertinent.
If the enormous mass of Darkness and hunger was aware of its opponents' voices, it would not be able to glean meaning from the plans that had passed through their lips. What it was aware of, however, was the four hearts presented to it at such a tantalizingly short distance away. It would soon make those hearts its own, or it would fade back to the world of Darkness trying. It was a feral compulsion, a primal hunger.
Oswalds decent down the side of the building had left with more than a small bruise to show for it - reckless behavior in the face of battle wasn't unexpected, but Bayde found himself shaking his head at the poor decision-making on the rabbit's part. Then again, Avari and Maxwell had elected to stand totally still for some reason or another.
The first attack to grace its form was a jolt of electricity from its left side. Oswald's attack didn't look like it had much of a kick to it, though it wasn't a totally useless tactic. The attack was enough of a distraction to draw the Darkside's attention away from the two on the roof as they prepared themselves, and just as its head turned to look at the small creature which dared to fire the power of Darkness at it, Maxwell sprung into action.
The spheres of water that projected outwards from Maxwell's allotment of the liquid practically bounced off the hide of the creature before it reacted, bringing its arms up to block the rest and leaving it blind to the warrior's approach. The spear struck true into its target, and a wail of pain was heard as a result.
And in the time that it had spent dealing with Maxwell's assault, the shadowy figure had failed to notice Avari's approach to its right side. Though the girl had barely received any training in the real way of the sword, her slash could hardly have missed its mark when the target was the size of a tree. The extra oomph from the gravity augment aided immensely in her penetrating power, and a cleave through the dark substance of the Darkside's ankle was made readily apparent.
The creature could only take so much abuse before it retaliated in kind. The swarm of insects around it had to be crushed. Assimilated. Converted. Absorbed. It would stop at nothing to satiate the hunger deep inside of the pit of its soul, and that meant a counter-attack needed to be launched.
Curling a massive fist, the monster took aim for Maxwell and brought his whole limb around in a violent, swinging motion. It was an attempt to knock him off his water pillar and to the ground below, and once he'd arrived there he may be of use to his friends.
Avari and Oswald would have to be quick to react as swirling, inky pools of darkness spread from the feet of the Darkside and joined together to encompass the whole of the area around them. From the depth, four shadows - three on Avari's side and one on Oswald's - sprung forth. They were ready for a fight, doing the bidding of that from which they'd been spawned.
All began with Darkness, and so to all should return.

As Max backed away from the Darkside, it brought a fist up, swinging its entire arm at the warrior. He was momentarily caught off guard by how quickly it had reacted, but managed to avoid the blow, though narrowly. As he ducked away from the Darkside's attack, he caught sight of the shadows forming up around Avari and Oswald below. He counted four overall. It wasn't exactly an impressive swarm. He decided to leave the smaller Heartless to his companions and focus his efforts against the Darkside. If he joined them below, they would all be left very vulnerable to the immense Heartless' attacks. If Max distracted it, though, it would give Avari and Oswald a chance to deal with the smaller Heartless while finding a chance to attack the ringleader.
As a quick plan formed in his mind, he replaced his spear on his back, drew Quicksilver, and launched his water platform up towards the Darkside's shoulder. He brought the water from the spheres he'd used in his previous attack, as well as the water used for his platform, and surrounded himself in it as he landed on the dark beast and began slashing at its head in a relentless assault. It was a move that left him obviously exposed. It was clear, however, that he was just trying to keep the creature's attention on him and not on his friends....
After Oswald fired Dark Whispers at the Heartless it punched towards Maxwell, he barely dodged it and attacked the lumbering monster again. A dark expanse started to come from the monster's feet as a shadow soon jumped up from the abyss at Oswald. Jumping onto a chair to dodge the attack he quickly fired a blast of ice at the heartless. Not looking towards it he shot more electricity at the beasts fist that tried to punch Maxwell.
He suddenly got an idea as he looked over the banister towards Avari and saw three shadows. "Hey Avari! I'll send something down to deal with the heartless behind you." He said as he turned towards to the shadow again and fired the dark wind at it trapping it in a ball of shadows and wind. Black dust started to fall and dissapear on the balcony. He got behind it and fired an electricity burst at it causing it to roll towards the banister destroying the wood. "Use this to deal with them!" he said as it fell. He then turned and shot another burst of electricity towards the fist.
Avari's eyes widened as the darkness pooled at the Darkside's feet, and three pairs of yellow beady eyes immerged, ready to spring at Avari. She took a few steps back from them as they danced around and switched to holding her sword with one hand instead of two, so she could shoot a fireball off directly in the center of them. She then held the blade up, preparing to swing at the first heartless that lunged at her.
Oswald called out to her just then, though she didn't take her eyes off the threat before her. At least until she heard a loud thud, where she then glanced over to see a heartless trapped in an orb of wind and shadow rolling this way. Though it seemed like Oswald was just simply delivering his only quarry for Avari to deal with, she took his word for it that he was using this to deal with the other three shadows as well. She jumped back from the three heartless in front of her, and as the Oswald's dark orb rolled closer, she readied herself to kick it towards the other heartless.
Bayde kept an attentive eye on all fronts of the battle. The man above as well as the creature and the girl below were all fighting. Well, some more than others, it seemed. The small rabbit - Oswald, Bayde seemed to remember - was hopping around to and fro in his place on the balcony he'd adopted. Of course, he had certainly not drawn the short end of the stick when it came to what he'd wound up dealing with since the start of the battle. Whether or not that fortune could continue would remain to be seen. At the very least, his magic seemed to be doing slight damage to the large-scale threat. This did not, however, save it from a pouncing attack courtesy of the Shadow he'd been afflicted with. He'd have to react quickly if he wanted to dodge that one.
The man on the pillar of water had come within a hair's breadth of being slammed by the massive fist of the Darkside. An inexperienced fighter may have been jarred by such a close call, but the confident expression on his face said that he'd dealt with this much and more time and again. Bayde nodded. It was always nice to have someone a little more battle-hardened leading the charge. Though prolonged exposure to the Heartless increased the chance of falling to Darkness, it was a necessary risk to take if the threat was to be combated.
The girl on the ground below had come into dire straits. The Darkside had focused the primary assault of its Shadow minions on her, and she didn't quite have the eye for battle that some of the others that called this ruined world home possessed. She was green, and she'd likely need help if more threats showed themselves. Though with a blade in one hand and a materia in the other, she seemed to be doing a good enough job of defending herself. The fireball she launched at the group of three that had attacked her exploded in the middle of the ground just as one of the creatures melted into the ground and became totally untargetable. She saw an opportunity to strike as one of them was sent tumbling from the burst of flames, and her blade struck true against it. An explosion of dark mist signalled the dispersal of the creature.
It was at that point that the man above them pressed for whatever advantage he may have been able to create. A torrential burst of water exploded outwards from the pillar that had been supporting him just moments ago, and he ran along it to jump on the shoulder of the Darkside threat where he began carving at its neck with his sword. The blows landed true, though whatever damage he'd intended to do was marred by the thick, shadowy hide of the creature if only slightly.
Bayde's eyes shot back to the rabbit as the small figure seemed to be trying out some sort of strategy. Regardless of how he'd dealt with the last attack, he now elected to blast the Shadow with frosty magic. Of course, the fact that he'd turned his back on the creature just afterwards to call out to the girl on the ground below. The creature righted itself, lunging for the rabbit once again in an attempt to attack while he was distracted.
'How hard is it to keep your eyes on your opponent?' Bayde had to wonder.
Still, Oswald managed to encase the Shadow in an orb of dark wind with another use of his materia and launch the creature down to the girl. Thankfully, the spell was not meant to deal any harm. He could have seriously hurt his friend if that was the case. The way things played out, the girl was simply able to kick the ball at the one remaining targetable Shadow she was dealing with. A burst of air and darkness spread outward, destroying the Shadow encased within the orb and dealing noticeable damage to the girl's target. Now all she would need to trouble herself with was the two shadows - one standing before her, and another cloaking itself in the shadowy terrain below.
But the Darkside would not be ignored so easily.
Another hand came up, attempting to smash Maxwell against the shoulder of the creature for daring to get so close. The message, while not audible, was very clear. Maxwell would have to move quickly or take the risk of being crushed. Following this, something incredibly unsettling happened. The beast let out another mighty roar, falling to its knees and spreading its arms wide. A ball of dark light began gathering within the massive hole in its chest. It sat there for one second, then two, and on the third the energy burst forth into twelve smaller orbs of hostile power and gathering into groups of four before flying at Avari, Maxwell, and Oswald one by one.
Bayde dipped his head down, turning ti to the side as he gazed into his right hand. A small medallion attached to a chain rested in his appendage. Would they be okay? Would he have to interfere? That would go against everything this battle was supposed to mean. And moreover, there was still the figure on the rooftops. It was well hidden - out of sight or senses of the fighters and the Heartless beyond all doubt - but Bayde was more than certain it was there. Just what was it?
What was supposed to be a simple test was quickly becoming more and more confusing.

A fleeting look of satisfaction crossed Max’s face as he saw he had garnered the large Heartless’ full attention, at least for now. It moved one immense hand to crush him against its shoulder. Before it could, though, he dove out off the way and off the creature completely, dropping toward the ground. He gathered most of the water around him as he plummeted, forming it into another platform in order to safely bring himself to the ground. The rest he formed into several small spheres of water. As he neared Avari and Oswald, he sent them into the two remaining shadows like a shotgun blast.
As his feet touched the ground, however, he felt a tremor as the Darkside dropped heavily to its knees and began charging dark energy in its chest. Max cursed out loud as he recognized the attack. Before he could warn the others, though, the Darkside had already sent multiple magical projectiles at each of them. Max brought his water up and into a shield in front of them all. When the projectiles should have impacted, though, they merely passed through his water shield as if it wasn’t there.
The first two impacted on his chest, knocking him to the ground hard. As he was coming back to his feet, the third hit him in the shoulder, sending him to the ground again. As he saw the fourth headed towards him, he did the only thing he could think of and brought Quicksilver around in a wide arc, aiming to hit the magical projectile with the flat of the blade. His aim was true, and as the blade contacted the magical attack it was sent flying over their heads and behind them.
With pain in his chest and shoulder from the attacks, Max pushed himself back to his feet, anger flashing in his eyes as he began to run at the Darkside in a full sprint. As he did, he gathered the water, formed it into a large ice spear, and sent it toward the Darkside’s ankle. At the same time, he charged its other leg with Quicksilver in both hands, swinging as hard as he could...
As the ball of shadows took out the Heartless leaving only two left, a sudden shaking caught Oswald's attention as the balcony noticeably wobbled. It might not have been the best idea to break it, he thought to himself as the shaking stopped. He looked to the hulking beast again to find it kneeling on the ground with an orb of something in it's chest. As the orb fully charged it burst into three then twelve with four coming at Oswald.
As soon as they started coming towards Oswald he knew he had to throw something at them as his beam might not do anything so he threw his leg, the closest thing to him, as it spiraled towards the four blasts it shot through one. In a few seconds it then came spinning back towards Oswald shooting through another one. Finally Oswald caught it and leaped out of the way of one which hit the balcony, shaking it even more. Reattaching his leg Oswald got hit in the arm with the last one which was caused a searing pain to his left arm. Looking towards Avari he saw that Jin had come down to aid her, but was almost immediately hit with 3 of the bursts. Oswald looking around for the remaining four saw them spiraling towards Avari, "Avari, watch out!" he yelled towards her. As he turned his attention toward the Heartless once again he fired his beam towards it's face.
With two of the shadows remaining, Avari kept her sword trained on the one before her while also trying to keep an eye on the one that had melted into the ground. It wouldn't do any good to have it sneak up on her, or leave herself open to this one in front of her. So, in an attempt to quickly eliminate the one she could target, she swung her sword at it horizontally, not using the sword's gravity based magic this time in order to save her strength for the big guy. Suddenly water sprung out, attacking the heartless in front of her; she was grateful to have both Oswald and Max looking out for her in this fight. Her attention was redirected shortly after by Oswald's shout coupled with the water-based shield that had appeared above Avari. She took a quick glance up, seeing the four dark orbs steadily floating towards her, taking her attention off the shadow momentarily. Avari had sustained cuts and scrapes from the shadows before, but she had no idea what this attack was. Thus, it was the greater threat the way she saw it.
Avari's eyes widened as the dark orbs started to pass through the watery shield Max had created, and instinctively, Avari turned on her heel and started running away from the orbs and the two heartless. Heading for the only immediate cover available to her, Avari darted around the Darkside's leg and attempted to dodge the dark orbs that grew closer and closer. She hoped that the Darkside's form would be enough to shield her from the attack, but knowing that the Darkside was the source, she wasted no time to retaliate. She faced the blade of her sword down and pierced the creature's foot, attempting to fix it in place to the stone ground underneath as the gravity magic weighed the sword down through the heartless's thick form. Avari was hoping that the next time it tried to move, pinning its foot in place may cause it to trip and fall. To that end, she released her sword, leaving it fixed in place and turned to face the heartless once again.
If any dark orbs persisted, at this point Avari could do nothing more than brace herself for the impact. If none of the dark orbs remained, she would ready another fireball to send at the last remaining shadows. And the longer the sword remained weighted, the more magic would be pulled from Avari, so if the plan didn't work she would have to retrieve the sword.
In the chaos of the Battle, Oswald had neglected to watch his opponent carefully enough to avoid either of the two attacks that had been launched his way before dealing with the Shadow that had accosted him. The damage was minor - small scrapes along his shoulder and forearm - but they would be reminders of the caution that had to be practiced in battle in the future. Bayde sighed. This one certainly had much left to learn before he was ready for more trying combat. Regardless, he seemed to be of some assistance to his comrades. Bayde supposed he should be thankful for that much at least.
The warrior of the group had attempted to tuck and roll down the body of their massive opponent to avoid a serious blow, but his speed was not quite enough to avoid the attack. That was the price of allowing yourself to become arrogant in your actions, though. The roll seemed too calm - too practiced - to be anything but pure reflex. The wound hadn't been serious, though a banged up leg like the one Maxwell would have received from having it crushed between the torso of the Darkside and its massive palm wouldn't do anyone favors in a fight.
The wall of water that he'd managed to throw up in an attempt to stop the encroaching projectiles hadn't been entirely ineffectual. The spheres had been a little slow before, but now they'd come to almost a crawl through the air. Their speed was certainly no threat, but the destructive might they contained was certainly no less intimidating.
Bayde watched the three fighters try to deal with the orbs of dark energy as best they could, though the only one to truly succeed in completely dodging the attack seemed to be Avari. She'd had the right idea; jumping behind a large obstacle that could take the blow was the best way to deal with the volley. The one remaining blast that hadn't effervesced from existence upon contact with the body of the Darkside had been easy enough for her to dodge around, and her magically enhanced blade struck true to the ankle of the creature.
This would not save her from the lunging strike of the Shadow that had earlier masked its presence, its claws raking across her exposed back in the middle of the strike. Bright red marks made themselves apparent as the strike drew blood from the girl. While not the best of circumstances, the Shadow had exposed itself and would likely draw the girl's attention to the follow-up attack from its partner that was coming for her swiftly.
Contrariwise, Oswald and Maxwell both seemed to be having a rough time with their respective ends of the fight. Oswald had put himself in quite the predicament now that his elevated hiding place was quickly losing structural stability, and the pummeling it was receiving from the Dark Bursts weren't helping. The rabbit had managed to prematurely detonate one of the spheres with his leg, and with the speed decreased thanks to Maxwell's water wall there was just enough time to hop out of the way of another, but the final two blows struck true against the creature. That certainly wouldn't have tickled.
Maxwell had fallen victim to three of the attacks himself, having put his focus on the wall moreso than his own wellbeing. Each strike seemed to blow him backwards a little further until he finally acted out of desperation. A violent, aimless swing of his arm sent the blast flying once again with renewed speed in Oswald's direction. Bayde would have smirked if the situation weren't quite so dire. Perhaps there was a lesson to be found here for the warrior as well.
Unaware of his action's consequence, Maxwell stood and gathered his water, throwing a spear of ice towards the same leg that Avari had pinned down with her sword and striking cleanly through the thigh of the crouching beast. A raucous scream erupted from the Darkside at the two nearly consecutive blows to its leg. With any luck, the beast wouldn't be standing up anytime soon. It could no longer advance on Twilight Town like this, and certainly its ability to avoid attacks would have been cut in two.
But as Maxwell would soon find out, the abonmination's strength lied more in the brute force it was capable of dishing out and taking in than its speed. The blade that had been intended for the thigh of the leg opposing Avari simply slid off, much like it had when Maxwell had attacked the neck earlier. It would seem that the hide of a Darkside was nothing to scoff at, though Maxwell likely knew this already.
The dark tide that had brought forth Shadows from the ether once again pooled around the knees of the Darkside, and three of the small creatures formed before sinking into the ground and scurrying off to wherever they would find the best opportunity to strike the group from. At the same time, another violent swing of the Darkside's arm brought the balcony that Oswald had occupied tumbling down. There would be no more hiding; the three would have to strike this foe down face to face.
Another howl from the Darkside signalled the start of the real battle.

While Max’s sword strokes barely did anything to the Darkside’s shadowy form, the ice spear he had thrown at it pierced its thigh, completely passing through and embedding itself in a nearby wall. He knew that with a wound like that the Darkside wouldn’t be able to come to its feet any time soon. They needed to take advantage of the opportunity and get behind the beast, where it would have a much more difficult time getting to them.
“Get behind it!” Max yelled out to his companions. He looked to Avari as he spoke, then to Oswald. That was when he saw the immense heartless swing at Oswald, destroying the balcony the man-rabbit had been on. Max reacted quickly as Oswald began to fall, turning the ice spear back to water and using it to grab the rabbit out of the air, maneuvering him over to where the soldier had retreated to behind the Darkside.
Max quickly sheathed Quicksilver and retrieved his spear from his back as their adversary summoned up more shadows from the darkness. The miniscule heartless quickly sunk into the ground. Max responded by gathering the water he’d used to rescue Oswald around himself in dozens of small spheres and sending half into the back of the Darkside, leaving the remaining spheres revolving around himself to protect him from any shadow attacks….
With more of the Heartless showing up Oswald was focused on not getting hit by anymore of the beings that he didn't notice the fist coming towards the balcony he was on. However he soon noticed the balcony collapsing as he fell over. Thankfully Maxwell's water saved him from a rough landing and brought him over to Maxwell. "Thanks Maxwell, that could've hurt badly," Oswald said, "How are we going to stop this thing though?"
As soon as he spoke he saw one of the few Heartless not slinking in the ground which he instinctively shot with his remote. "I mean it's not like the smaller shadows that are pushovers, it's ginormous!" he said while pointing up towards the hulking beasts head. Another of the shadows approached Oswald again this time in the ground which he shot with electricity.
