In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

He scowled at the sight of utter blackness before him. "Damn!" He attempted to relax while he hurriedly scanned his surroundings. There was nothing, only more and more darkness. He was shaken by the darkness, and his actions and personality became more feral. Nokosu found it increasingly difficult to rationalize. "It's this darkness. It's getting to me!"
The krezzican gripped his sword tighter than he ever had in as long as he could remember. Looking up, he could see a number- 39. "What?" That was the counter that his life must have been tied to. The darkness, this mysterious nobody, the timer, all of it getting to Nokosu. His control over his emotions was slipping.
"Do you fear darkness?"[/i] Nokosu looked up, only to come into contact with a flurry of sharp rose petals, attempting to rip him to shreds. "Still no blood...". Marluxia's attack had failed to penetrate his skin fully, but one more barrage...
"Do you fear that dark abyss?"[/i] Before he could finish that thought, another barrage of rose petals struck him from the front. Blood slowly seeped from the various areas had been sliced through two or three times. It was painful, but Nokosu welcomed this pain. It meant he could feel. Being able to feel meant that he was still all there. As for the nobody’s questions, Nokosu did fear. He feared this dark abyss consuming him, he feared death, and he feared the thought of dying without redemption.
"You say you were taken here by a strong Heartless. What is his name? Why did he fight you?" Nokosu wanted to answer, but he never so much as got a name from the creature.
"I don't know his name," Nokosu caught his breath, "he used magic effectively. His hair was long and was a shade of silver, and he used a lot of poetic terms." Nokosu tried to focus on what Kuja looked and sounded like, but the darkness and fear made it difficult. Nokosu stared at the dark abyss beneath him, then back at Marluxia, who approached him without a weapon.
The krezzican didn't trust the nobody. As Nokosu brought back his sword to unleash a Shotgun Flare, a sudden barrage of rose petals slammed into him. "Gah!" He dropped his sword. Nokosu was very low on mana, his body was fatigued, and the darkness was wreaking havoc on his mind.
Marluxia growled softly at the sight of Nokosu giving in so easily to the darkness. At this rate he will be turned into a Heartless, and Marluxia needs human or even human like beings for his plan. He would not allow it to end like this.
"Such a sad sight to see indeed. You must show your worth! How else will you pull through. Think of what you'll leave behind!" Marluxia barked as vines pulled themselves out of the ground and wrapped themselves around Nokosu and lifted him off the ground and held him in an upright position.
XI stormed up to the krezzican and grabbed him by the throat. He hated when weak people give up so easily even when they know the odds are stacked against them. No matter how strong or weak one is they must not run!
"What drives you?" Another short burst of rose petals danced across Nokosu's body, "Why do you live!?!!" The Assassin needed to break this boy, make him reveal all, make him submit.
((A little confused. Marluxia hateS when people gave up, but he wants to break Nokosu and make him submit? Anyways, that last post really made me think about why my character acts the way he does XD. I tried to make it good, but I am sure that this post could have been a lot better…))
Nokosu's slouched body was straightened by a series of vines that had snaked their way around him. He was now held upright in the air.
"Such a sad sight to see indeed. You must show your worth! How else will you pull through. Think of what you'll leave behind!" [/i] Was the nobody... encouraging Nokosu? The young man thought hard about what Marluxia had just said, albeit with great difficulty. What would Nokosu leave behind? He had nothing. His home, the ones he loved, they were all gone. All he had was his guilt.
The man gripped Nokosu's throat. "What drives you? Why do you live!?!!"[/i] Nokosu ignored the pain as the rose petals struck him. "What drives me? Why is it that I live?" Nokosu lived simply to redeem himself of his sins, and he wouldn't allow the darkness to consume him before that. With a renewed vigor, he forced as much darkness he could out of his heart and mind. He didn’t know how effective it was, but he refused to submit to the darkness.
As for the vines that restricted him, Nokosu clenched his hands into fists, and started tugging against the vines. There wasn't much that Nokosu could do at the moment, but he realized that it was better than just giving up.
(Its an ironic Nobody thing. He doesn't like quitters, but feels like someone has to give up on their own weak heart and mind so they can obtain true power.)
Marluxia forced the vines off of Nokosu when he saw the krezzican try and force himself free, he knelt over and offered him a choice,
"I offer you a way out, you can either stay here in the darkness and rot. Or you can join my cause and fight back against it. You can join my army and attack the ones who do us harm, krezzican, human, or otherwise. Think of this as a way to redeem any past sins you have committed."
Marluxia made two flowers grow in front of the boy, one red, one blue. The red held an advanced potion remedy. The blue one held a sleeping tonic.
"Chose the red to go on and the blue to sleep and awake back in the real world, vulnerable to the darkness with no allies against it. As to quote one of my personal favorite books, Will you follow the white further down the hole?"
((Well that makes sense, I guess. On another note, hurray for references!))
Struggling against the vines was of no use at all. If only Nokosu had his sword, he could cut himself down. "What is this?" It looked as if he didn't need to free himself after all- his enemy had called the plants off. Nokosu fell to the ground below on his feet. It wasn't long before one of his legs gave in, and he fell to one knee. Marluxia made his approach, and looked down at young man.
Nokosu was offered a choice. To both stay in the darkness and be consumed by it, or to join the nobody's cause and fight against it. He would have a chance to protect others against the darkness, and be able to forgive himself for the destruction of Krezzica. He was given a way out, a way to remove that burden off his chest after five tiring years.
XI forced two flowers out from the darkness. One was red, and held a vial of an unknown liquid. The blue plant held a vial as well, except it had a slightly different appearance to it. Red to go on, and follow the cloaked man's army into combating darkness itself, or blue to continue trying to find his own path? After several long seconds of hesitation, Nokosu slowly reached his hand out for the potion nestled in the red flower. "Can I trust this man? How do I know this vial doesn't contain poison of some kind?" He nodded "No, if this man wanted to kill me, he had plenty of chances to do so. This is even an opportunity for me to grow, and free my conscious."
With that thought, Nokosu opened the vial from the red flower and drank its contents. Immediately, strength returned to his body, and all his wounds miraculously healed. The krezzican stood up, grabbed his sword, and faced Marluxia.
…Even though he fended off the darkness inside him with willpower alone, there were still traces within his heart. With proper training, the young krezzican will be able to use this darkness to his advantage, without major repercussions. However, without proper use, it may just turn him into a heartless.
((And that does it for giving my character dark powers, or at least allowing him to learn them))
"Good choice young one, now come on. We have many places for us to visit to prepare you. Likewise, learn and remember these names. Rook, Samael and Hades. You'll meet them soon enough."
Marluxia opened up a rift in the darkness and beckoned for Nokosu to follow.
(Sorry to massive short post. Endings with Marluxia usually end like this anyway.)

Nokosu nodded, a gesture merely to show that he had heard each of the names Marluxia had mentioned. "Rook, Samael, and Hades." He had never heard of Rook or Samael, but Nokosu knew who Hades was; the god of the underworld, as well as all the dead. "Would Hades know of any krezzicans?"
Seeing the dark portal, Nokosu left his fears of the darkness behind and marched into rift.
