In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Hmm ... Jack has good jumping abilities, that pretty much confirms his legs are strong and well built"
She analyzed the performance of both warriors carefully and started writing on a notepad anything of interest she could find.
"And Kanji has great control on his body, his willpower lets him ignore pain, although that could be a double edged sword if he ignores for too long the damage"
Those two were giving her a fine show, but the battle had only started and none of them showed their real fighting abilities.
"Kanji, don't be so reckless or I'll have to patch you, same goes for Jack"
Jack also nodded before yanking back his sword and jumping back out of range of Kanji. He wiped a bead of sweat off of his brow and examined his opponent again. Kanji hadn't been affected by the pretty bad cut on his hand, which could prove useful. He was also rather fast, as could be expected from a hand-to-hand fighter. Jack ran his fingers through his hair, getting his bangs out of his eyes.
Jack looked around and studied his surroundings. There wasn't really much he could do with the things around them. All he could do was call a storm... no, it was too soon. Jack settled for using thundara. He said the name of the spell, and a soft ball-sized orb of lightning appeared over Kanji in an instant. He waited for it to strike down and stun his opponent.

Kanji nodded at Saga. He knew that what he did was completely reckless, but it was necessary. What he didn't expect was the sudden lightning bolt that nearly struck him If he hadn't rolled to the side. Without wasting anytime Kanji ran towards a barrel and kicked it towards his opponent.
However, this was only part of an attack. As the barrel flew Kanji charged at Jack and jumped into the air and came down with a strong kick. He was still doing what Saga said, so he held back.
Her two students had different skills and battle strategies, and in her mind variety in a team was a must to survive the harsh battles they will have to survive in the future once they had to travel to distant and dangerous worlds.
"Jack has a deadly combination of swordplay with thunder magic, that could prove to be very useful against enemies in any range and in particular be the demise of enemies weak against lightning. Kanji is a dedicated barehanded fighter, he compensates his lack of range with a body built to be quick, resist damage and deal powerful blows."
She continued examining the fighting style of her two followers. It was better than simply ask them how they fight and helpful to know when it's time to create strategies against tough enemies.
Jack barely rolled out of the way of the barrel. It was so close that he could feel it brush against the black jacket on his back. It hit the wall behind him and broke into many pieces. Unfortunately, he didn't notice Kanji's other attack, and was hit, hard in the left shoulder as he ducked. A loud crack was heard as it broke. He jumped back and stumbled because of the pain.
He clutched his shoulder and took deep breaths. The pain lessened, but not much. He had never broken a bone before, somehow. His sister, Isabelle, would be ashamed. He could almost hear her now- 'Beaten by a kick? Ridiculous!' The determination to avoid doing anything that would've disappointed his sister gave him strength. He gasped as he stood up straight, but he got into stance, with the exception of his left arm hanging painfully on his side.
Kanji didn't expect his attack to actually hit. The sight of Jack's broken arm clearly showed that he was enduring a lot of pain. '' Great and I even held back most of the force'' Kanji thought he recalled something Yukkie told him. Once he had finished his training, he was supposed to use his skills only when necessary...maybe this was was why.
'' You shouldn't push yourself'' was all kanji could say
Amazing, Kanji's strength was simply amazing. Saga couldn't stop but express joy after witnessing how with a single kick he broke one of Jack's shoulders and arm. With so much power in a single blow he was a living weapon.
"Incredible Kanji, you are stronger than I expected, you shall be our unstoppable sword"
Jack wasn't a weakling either, he endured the pain and with a tremendous willpower he managed not only to resist the pain but also to ignore it and continue fighting as if nothing happened.
"Jack, with your endurance and willpower you shall be our unbreakable shield"
Very good, so powerful. They were the kind of people she found worth of living in the future she wanted to create along them, a world where the weak no longer exist and everybody overcome the weakness of the heart to become something that surpasses the combined might of all the heartless and nobodies, hell why not, even surpass the power of the fabled keyblade wielders. Those two were going to become the stepping stones creating the path towards the new world
Jack nearly smiled at that comment in pride, but caught himself. He remembered Isabelle saying, "Never think you're better until you've won the fight. And even then, don't turn your back until they're dead- or tied up." Actually, he was tied up at the time, in rope that he had brought. He still couldn't remember how she'd done that, no matter how many times he replayed it in his head.
He studied Kanji, carefully avoiding eye contact. He knew Kanji was strong, but that didn't rule out any tricks up his sleeves. Deciding on a plan, Jack closed his eyes and tucked his broken arm into his jacket and zipped it. It hurt badly, and having a sword in hand didn't help, either.
Finally executing his plan, he released some electricity into his sword and jumped and slashed at his opponent.
The fighter witnessed his opponents next attack, and he didn't like what he was seeing. Jack seemed to have a lot of lightning power, which would prove useful. The only trouble Kanji was having was keeping his strength at it's lowest level.
He waited for the the attack to come down on him. '' I suppose it's fair..'' Kanji thought. He raised his arms above his face the completely blocked the impact, but that didn't stop the electricity from surging through his body. It knocked him back a few feet away...but he didn't move at all, nor did he make a sound.
'' Crap..I must have damaged more than I thought''
When those two fought seriously not even the strongest heartless would leave the fight unscarred, but this was already getting out of control. It was nice to know how powerful they were but if they accumulated too much injuries they could end up like useless broken dolls
"You two, if your health is falling to dangerous levels stop. Even the strongest warrior becomes as useless as a baby when severely injured."
She looked at those two and could clearly see the adrenaline rush in Jack was over and he was starting to feel pain, and Kanji was completely immobilized for taking his body to the extreme.
"If you can't continue we'll stop this match, but if you can continue then stop wasting time. Whatever you do is fine because I already saw enough of your fighting abilities."
Jack stood and waited for Kanji to move. He hoped he didn't damage him; Saga wouldn't like it, and Jack didn't think he could live with knowing that he crippled someone on his side. He was just to innocent a boy to accept it and shrug it off. Not yet.
On the plus side, Jack had never done that before. Immobilizing someone with thunder was a new concept to him. It could be a great asset in battle. He figured he didn't do it back on his home world because it's residents had a natural resistance to lightning. Just as they had an affinity for it's use. What a wierd cycle.
Unfortunately, without being in a battle, adrenaline stopped being produced, and Jack's arm hurt like hell. He concentrated on Kanji, trying not to think about his throbbing shoulder. This was a test, and if he passed, it was a good omen on the anti-Heartless front.
Kanji felt his insides screaming. He knew that he would get hurt, but he didn't expect this kind of damage. He tried to move his arms then his legs until he was finally able to stand up straight again. Whatever was damaged didn't bother him that much, he could handle it.
Kanji took a breath then folded his arms and waited for Saga's orders.
As far as he was concerned unless jack attacked again..this battle was over.
"Enough for today. Broken dolls are of no use and would be discarded if can't be repaired. In the heart of the battle you may ignore the pain but later you will feel paralyzed and your muscles could end sprained"
She looked at her followers and saw in them the broken figures of worn out men who might end up losing forever the ability to fight if they damaged their bodies more.
"Anyone who feels too injured come with me, I'll patch up your injuries. If no one needs medical help go back to your homes and rest for the rest of the day, we made a decent progress today"
Jack figured that he should probably get his shoulder looked at. He sheathed his sword with some difficulty, as he couldn't hold it still with his left arm. He did, though, and looked at Saga. 'Decent progress'? Jack's shoulder had been broken and Kanji, paralyzed. In Jack's opinion, they did great. But he dared not say anything. The last thing he needed was to be lectured right now.
He walked forward to Kanji and exteded his arm, in a hand-shaking gesture. "Good fight," he complimented. And it was, too. Kanji was a skilled fighter and very strong, besides. Jack would be honored to be backed by Kanji in a fight.
Kanji did feel quite strange in his body, and maybe thats why he didn't want to shake Jack's hand. When he finally did he simply nodded at Jack, letting him know that he agreed. His thoughts focused on what to do for the night. He didn't have any place to stay, and most of the people at the hotels were probably sleeping by now.
Kanji just stood there rubbing his hands still in deep thought.
