In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Vexen's eyes grew wider as he inhaled more strongly then normal in shock. Standing perplexed at the avian entity that materialized behind this mere weakling of a human. It boggled the scientists mind how it could have escaped his cell. It was an unexpected and inculcated development. Vexen stammered, at a loss for words. For a moment he could not decide how he should react.
With a tone of anger in his voice the Chilly Academic spoke out loud. A tone caused by displeasement of him losing his tight reigns over the Aeon. The disrupting of his careful laid out plan caused for a slight mental panic. One where memories of those feelings he used to had resurfaced. "I will not allow you to reclaim it, it's powers will be mine!"
Hermes had reached his limit with the man, and he stepped forward, around Artemis. All it took was a cry, and his power caused the memory world to warp, changing until it became clear they were in a cliffed area. It was the Calm Lands, though it was made from Hermes' memory. With another cry, Artemis held his staff up, facing Vexen.
"Now, it's time you learned pain. Learn the true power of the Aeons. Hermes, vekrd du gemm, hu macc." The avian turned and with a roar, built energy at his beak. Aphrodite's power had revived his, and he let loose an Energy Beam at the blonde man, putting all his anger into that attack.

Vexen curiously glanced around at the change of scenery. The castle was brimming with the power of these memories, that he could sense. The more he saw of this world, the more the interest arose to visit the real Spira personally one day. But these radical and drastic changes were the signs of unstable memories and the lack of control that resided in weakened minds.
So first the Chilly Academics attention should be placed on the summoner so that such an unforeseen action as the freeing of the avian creature of it's cell won't repeat itself. Seeing the energy build up, Vexen braced himself behind the Frozen Pride.
The energy beam was unleashed and scarred the ground in front of Vexen's feet. The number IV Nobody rose from behind his shield and looked up questionable. Seeing as how the attack had missed. Apparently the Aeon was still in a weakened state he thought.
But that thought was soon proved wrong as the ground started to rumble and tremor and energy erupted from the vault-line that was now in the ground. The eruption of the blast caught the scientist by surprise and hurled him back through the air. In the chaos of the explosion Artemis could see his shield shatter and the black cloaked figure being blown away like a rag doll. Before disappearing behind the dust and smoke.
The ground of the cliff crumbled and broke. But it kept on crumbling as the entire cliff broke apart and sends all of them falling into the deep. The sight of the Calm Lands dissolved all around the falling Summoner and the flying Aeon as beneath them a vast ocean appeared with a single tropical island on it. It was Besaid Island. Home to the temple of Hermes it's Fayth.
Still falling through the sky above the island, from up above a black figure came rocketing down. Holding his body stiff and his limbs straight. Vexen soared down with great control as he gained up on the Summoner and it's flying Aeon. With a flash of white, two razor sharp ice swords appeared in each of his hands. Both swords got thrown at the same time at Hermes. The two blades spinning around taking the appearance of discs in the sky. Flying with great speed, strength and accuracy. Each disc was heading for one of Hermes it's main wings. One aimed for the left wing and one aimed for the right. As Vexen attempts to cripple the beasts flight capacity to even out the odds again.
If Hermes could vocalize, he would have laughed. Instead, he pulled his wings in and caused the disks to miss, and used his momentum to rocket through the air after the Academic. On the ground, Artemis had decided to help, and had an arrow nocked on his string, ready to pierce the blonde one through the heart.
Ready...aim...fi
"GAH!"
Artemis looked down to see a silver and blue blade protruding from his stomach, and then fell to the ground, clutching the weapon. Hermes had a similar effect, and crashed into the ground, slowly reverting to crystal form. As Artemis looked back, he saw the other hooded man holding the end of the lance that was in his stomach.
"Yevon tysh oui ymm..." he said before falling to the ground with a gasp. As he did so, his heart released and his pyreflies flew into the air. The castle reverted to its normal form, and Xaldin made his lance disappear, turning away from the body.
"It was a shame...a second sooner and he would have fired this at you." The Lancer looked at the bow, arrow still on the string, and opened a dark portal. "Take the crystals, do what you wish with them. And have your minions clean up this...mess." With a turn that flourished his robe, he walked back through the portal.
And with that, Artemis was no longer a living Al Bhed. Even then, his pyreflies floated around the roof, seeking the Farplane. And three crystals laid on the floor next to Artemis' body, faintly glowing with what will his Aeons had left.

Vexen appeared in a swirling mass of darkness as he coldly walked toward the three crystals and the place where the young summoner was killed. Glaring down with a slightly annoyed expression on his face. Not feeling content with yet another surprise intervention of the Whirlwind Lancer.
The Chilly Academic had everything under control. As he was using the fight to gather all the necessary data for utmost use of the Aeons. Now the process of turning these entities into weapons for the Organization would take much longer to fulfill.
Xaldin was betraying a high level of arrogance. The ordering, the interference, the believe that a simple arrow could possible be a threat to one like themselves. And the rudeness of demanding Vexen to clean up his mess. Something very unusual for a being without a heart or emotions. Something must be done in the future to prevent this development to unpack negatively for the Organization. Still right now there were more pressing matters at hand.
Vexen picked up the crystals and looked at them closely. Another corridor of darkness appeared by his sheer will that leaded to his laboratory. With a few steps he walked through. Dusks appeared to dispose of the body and the blood.
