In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

I'm just curious. There has been a lot of discussion. What is the general consensus?
A: Improve on the existing plot, including Dark XII, Org. XIII and a war being staged by King Mickey and his army of Keyblade Bearers. Add possible plot twists and essentially keep the same structure.
The arguments:
It's already established. It's already being advertised. It'd take quite a bit of work to change it. It's easier to just go from what we have. Many characters have already been cast and have threads; to start over would mean disregarding these past rps.
B. Create something entirely new from scratch, including the bare bones for a flexible, but sturdy plot, the allowance of all characters to form, break, or refrain from allegiances, and the appointment of one or two moderators to act as guides, adding surprises to the rps.
The arguments:
Org. XII has never played a big part in the rp Past attempts with staged wars on the boards have failed. The turnover rate and difficulty in getting all the members active is alarming, making rp slow. There is little flexibility.
This Keyblade war that has been spoke about often never came to pass. I think we can pull something new and do-able out of our hat while still keeping the Dark XII, Org. XIII, and Keybladers around. The "war" is done out, I think. Time to do something new and fresh, says I.
Well, they can stay, and their ordeals can be part of the new plot. *shrugs* I should really give an opinion since I'm so new. lol. I just feel that a new plot would be easier to work with, using elements from the old one to give it more foundations
A massive war is difficult to work with, as evidenced by the Invasion!! thread that took place long ago. It can be managed, but it does take coordination, which largely has not taken place. I know the plot I had set down for Sephiroth, and still work towards, does require sparking one, but I digress.
Although it was nixed before because it seemed to add too much, I can bring up the concept of nulls again. Mind, this was something that Serif and I worked out a year and a half ago --
The heart, or the darkness therin, is the heartless; the body the nobody. But what of the soul/spirit?
Nulls were initially designed to be wraithlike ghosts, with their number including silhouettes (the counterpart to dusks/shadows) going to spectre, the like. They weren't much in the way of player character material, and the threat they posed was this:
With the underworld sealed back away, the wandering spirits took to floating about the worlds, taking possession of other people and displacing souls to experience life once more. The displaced souls became more nulls, and eventually the bodies of the possessed were no longer viable, forcing the null to move on.
There's more to it, but that is the essential. It was shot down a while ago due to the fact that it brought in another element, but that might be what the site needs, and a null character already had been introduced at some point.
As for other ideas, biowarfare is possible, but more likely would be following the Replica's plot -- cloning the wielders and using the clones' power to create havoc. There's a lot of possibilities...
Merging all the worlds back into one, for instance - they used to be one, long ago. Of course, that would cause its own set of issues... or the villains banding together again with their own takeover plot - not excluding the Final Fantasy ones running about. The Cornerstone of Light is still at the bottom of Timeless River; what if someone steals it?
Although personally, I am not opposed to the idea of Nulls, I do think that for now, it is important to first find out if it even makes sense to venture so far as to start offering brand new suggestions for the plot.
I would like to keep this particular thread on the subject of the site's initial opinion. I believe that if as a group we can agree on that first step, it will be easier to generate fruitful discussion on actual plot points and make useful suggestions to our Administrators.
So, the important thing right now is to vote. Ideally, we should get at least 30 votes to get a clear idea of how the active members feel on the subject...so, poke people. Poke, poke, poke!
I, too, like the idea of Nulls. The thing is, if they are the soul, Nobody's are already said to be the body/soul of a person who loses their heart to darkness. Would it simply be said the Nobodies now represent solely the body then? And when was the Cornerstone of Light tossed into Timeless River? Was that a site plot?
I like the Replica idea as well. It gives the Organization purpose to be there, and as such, the Dark XII will need to make an appearance in their little arms race. Replicating Wielders sounds like it could be interesting, as there would actually be a reason for Mickey to mobilize his makeshift army instead of "and so, we shall go to war!" And some of the wielders are wildcards. Going along with Mickey just because of a weapon they possess might not be along their vein, hence added conflict.
Has potential, who else has brainstorming ideas abotu this, or other possible directions?
Actually, I was thinking that the Nulls could be something like a by-product. For example, when Xekim lost a portion of his soul he remained a live due to the powers of light, but something had to happen to that piece of soul. So it may have become some variation of Null. So the Nulls could be fragments of a person soul, infused with both aspects of the original's power and memories if they are powerful enough.
If not, they become the generic null, the wraith-like enemy. The thing that could make them substantial is either the power of light, or darkness or something new and unknown. *shrugs* This could also mean the Nulls could in fact be the replicas themselves.

Okay. Lightbulb! I like this idea too; give or take a few parts. The concept of replicas sound fun, and it opens up more canons for being to grab. But, my only issue is that- if the organization is gonna use the replicas, where does the Dark XII come in? Is there any need for them at all? Should they simply be scratched out? If you think about, they haven't been playing a large role anyway. But. *shrugs* Just something to think about.
[...]where does the Dark XII come in? Is there any need for them at all? Should they simply be scratched out? If you think about, they haven't been playing a large role anyway.
I think there is definetly somewhere to fit them in, not sure where tho. The Dark XII aren't necessarily a thriving member of the body overall, but they are somewhat intrigal to the site as it is. I don't think cutting them out entirely would be a good way to go, but there is certainly some angle they can play.
I disagree !00%, considering how we've had to bend rules to MAKE them fit. Instead of easily putting puzzle pieces together and putting some aside when they don't fit, we've sawed off some of the edges and shoved them together. We can't say: for this rp there will be an army in order for the plot to function.
You want OC's to have a part, but dictating twelve objectives is at least ten steps backwards from this idea. They have never been integral to the site except to make things move slower.
To utilize the concept: Powerful Hearts with lots of Darkness in them become sentient, human-shaped Heartless is fine. That's called a Given Circumstance which becomes a part of the "bare bones" plot structure. What people do with this is up to them. Should they form an army, fine. Should they choose not to, fine.
Anyways...do we really think Demyx's Other had enough Darkness in his Heart to form such a powerful Heartless?
*poked and hisses* D< Curse you and your superior MSN, Aryn.
Alright... so... say we were to change the plot. Has anyone looked at where WD is advertised? The voting channels perhaps? Uh uh! See, we're advertising our plot as a ploy to try and get people here... were we to do that we'd need to change everywhere that it is that Roxas has posted this place... and I'm just going to go on a whim and say that that's going to be a lot.
Think of it in this sense... I promise you a vegan-free, just and intelligent area that's as far as the eye can see... instead I shove you along with three spokespersons of PETA in a closet and give you pointy toothpicks to pry at one another with. --
If the site is advertised the way it is, it should be that way.
Of course, I'm all for changing the plot, it could make it more appealing, bring it above the rest... but personally, I'd rather stick with the old. I'm sort of thinking of the larger picture here though... >>;;

Afraid of a little work are we?
...You know, Coca-Cola used to advertise their coke content, but rather than keep the product to match the ad, they changed the ad to match the product...if we come up with a better product, why not advertise it?
I like the plot idea we have now (Nulls or no, the current idea works). The keyblade war is one that cannot be fought like the Invasion thread on one battlefield. It's one that needs to involve all the worlds, gaining and keeping power, Mortal characters (AKA no more auto-revives for XII and XIII folks), and a long-term war.
The only way to accomplish this, and we can accomplish it, is with World Mods taking control of worlds- NPCs, keyholes, Gummi paths, Untaken PCs...Without these, threads turn into the ones we've had in the Pridelands with people searching for keyholes and Scar's nobody...but no one to say where those things actually are.
We can keep the plot. It's usable, it's fun. It's a lot less confusing than if we scrapped everything. If we put in a new plot, it's retconing! Entire threads may not make sense. If we do a site wipe, that's no better than what Zexion did a while back- no one here wants all their work erased.
All this plot needs to work is people willing to put in the extra mileage to manage a world. I've seen harder. One friend of mine controlled all the NPCs for their site- literally played the DM for fifty people at once. This is a lot easier. Let's just buckle down and get this done!
When was the last time all twelve members were actually present and active at the same time? Why do we have to require that they all be present for an Org. XII?
Why can't the Heartless leader simply acknowledge that maybe only a handful made it back and that's what he has to work with? As people sign up, he can bring them under his wing, but this requiring a whole army for a plot to function stuff just doesn't make sense to me. I mean, if you wrote a play and cast twelve members, but only five showed up to rehearsals, what would you do? You hold auditions. Only two people sign up. Are you going to not put on a show or write a new play?
Maybe you're very attached to your play and won't put it on without twelve members. Or maybe you really want to put a production on stage and you're willing to make some changes.
Neither is "right," but only one will result in something.
