In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Major update to abilities- some reworded, LOCKED corrupted elements and added normal spells of a downgraded variety. ShadowMask re-added
Alchemy skill added.
Shards of darkness- altered (Deciever untouched until Illusion itself is clarified{not sure if I clarified or not}), 3 names and 2 weapons changed. Notify me if new weapons/unchanged weapons are unacceptable, to my knowledge they are not cannon or rule breaking, fixed some typos (upon revision the gunblade change is still slightly a gunblade, though works more like another weapon from Soulcalibur)
Added special world descriptions.
updated background! RP Sample soon to come!
Some typos fixed,
Abilities updated- Teleport reworded, FireStorm explained in more detail, ShadowMask removed, special auto defense skills explained in more detail

Self-Description slightly improved
Current Residing World changed to a more appropriate place, ie: an actual location
Expect more unprompted updates, especially for his bio. Name(given by Maleficent): Daein Orajefue Birth Name: Rellen Crow Title: la Bête Blanche de Coeur Noir Codename: Sevin, or Sev Age: 26
Gender: Male
Species: Human Note: it is not fully clear as to weather or not his DNA was altered by the absorption of heartless into his body. It is also unclear if he has remained classifiable as human after his trials at Shinra Corp. and in the Realm of Darkness.
Position: Anti-Hero, Left hand of the Profound Darkness.
Powers: Having extensive training, practically since he could walk, he has developed his magical abilities to their most powerful form. His time in the darkness has added to them, and given him a few new abilities as well.
Alchemy : with the use of your fire and knowledge gained through experimentation, you may make potions, separate ingrediants from already existing potions, and mix potions for a stronger/combined affect. This process is dangerous and not professionally done. Potions made may taste bad, work extremely well/not at all. Any unwanted side affects are generally comical. Specialization: through extensive study he has found a way to create a very potent amphetimene by separating and combining different pieces of potions. Required potions: Speed, Mana, and Pheonix Down.]
Magic-
Thundara (40% more usage to upgrade)- Primary Element
Aera (80% more usage to upgrade) - Secondary Element
Fire (10% more usage to upgrade) -Tertiary Element
ShadowMask- Maleficent’s power hides you from prying eyes wile in her own personal boot camp
Summon Heartless?- Your heartless summons are malformed and weak, often very comical.
Harvest- your attempt to harvest the hearts of the fallen is inadequate and leads to self infliction
Corridors of Darkness- You may use the corridors, but a vast maze it is: best leave this alone without a map.
Harvest[Locked]- Collect the hearts of the fallen. Must be wielding the Deceiver.
Summon Heartless[LOCKED]- Use power gained by your collected hearts to summon a heartless. (Note: starting at a level one summon creating three{3} heartless of Shadow variety. These will strengthen as power is acquired and a maximum of five may be attained. Summon number will also depend on summon type. When summoning a Shadow, one{1} NeoShadow may appear instead. This consumes all three summon slots.) Must be wielding the Deceiver
ShadowTeleport[locked]- Move across the ‘verse. In early levels it’s a basic Shadow-port (as demonstrated by Axel and the others in the Organization when using .) to any world accessible through gummy travel by one single jump. Route distance may affect teleport ability. As over-all character power increases so does teleportation rang, also the look of the teleportation increases in flare. (Note: you may teleport directly to the
Electricity can be seen crackling in and around the open portal during the second level of ability, allowing him to jump up to worlds and sometimes exceeds two worlds in a single direction. Teleportation may prove dangerous and unpredictable in this stage of ability, as knowledge of the skill is not entirely mastered but not so inept that the possibility of moving to another world is not such a draining and difficult task.
Finally, at maximum power the caster may teleport to anywhere from anywhere with the added flash of blackfire when the portal opens and closes. (Note: Anywhere does include moving directly to the realm of darkness. When advancing in skill the ability to teleport in a stealthy manor is forfeit.
ShadowLightning[Locked]- Your Thundaga is a powerful tool of darkness.
BlackFire[Locked]- The powerful Ability of Firaga has been corrupted by your black heart. (The fire can burn way infection and heal your wounds. This does not count as a true healing spell and cannot be used to heal allies. The healing flame is limited: must be able to touch the wound intended to heal, flames spread from original source do not have healing properties)
DarkWind[Locked]- The air about you protects and damages in swirl of darkness. (Aeroga)(passive)
FireStrom(LOCKED)- Call forth a mighty black storm of fire and lightning in a perfect combination of your three elemental powers. Note: the calling of a full storm through use of materia, and then controlling it, is not an easy task, and thus requires much character development and approval of multiple moderators.
Abilities-
Nightsight: Your eyes are hardwired for the dark.
MeleeSpecialization: your ability to fight with melee weapons is exceptional
Adrenaline: your ability to fight and move is increased for short periods of time.
Daein’s special abilities are not useable through normal instance, but temporarily unlocked through events of extreme trauma or sever fight or flight events. Use of TRANCE must be approved by a Moderate to prevent god moding.
TRANCE: Like a limit break, but more personal and emotional. Daein does not experience a limit break but a TRANCE may occur if he experiences extreme emotional distress.
Trance skill- Malign Wrath --- hastaga and berserk wrapped into one, angsty little ball of fury and destruction. The Deceiver will split into two weapons, both imbued with shadow/dark, electric, and fire damage.
SPECIAL: Daein covers his arm with a metal gauntlet because it is his weak point. (see WEAKNESS) When his gauntlet is removed, his body will take defensive measures, these are autouse skills and cannot be controlled. The more damage done to his arm the stronger these skills become in an attempt to repel the enemy.
Harm Touch- any bio-organism that comes into contact with his left arm, hand, or shoulder will be damaged by psychic and electric energy. Pranic Touch- Draw in and absorb many types of energies with your left hand. This energy is used in attempt to repair his body, ie heal broken bones or other damages to the arm specifically, in turn reducing the power of the skills. This will cycle until the attack has ended.
Weapon: an eight-inch, defending Facon dagger and a highly decorative (but extremely affective) Kukri dagger. These were taken, from Midgar, out of his personal selection and they are nearly all that’s left of his previous life. Can be used to attack the heartless and nobodies, but do not have a specific ability, and add to his repertoire of combat styling and possible attack patterns.
SPECIAL: The Deceiver- an artifact of darkness that mimics the keyblade‘s appearance, but does not function in the same manor
Note: Weapon DOES NOT lock or unlock the worlds; it DOES NOT detect keyholes, and Daein IS NOT a key bearer. The Deceiver CAN, however, transport him directly to the realm of darkness[door opens right in front of the City that Never Was, location may not be changed. He must leave through methods not involving the blade or his teleportation], which his teleport cannot take him to until tier 3.
When the Illusion is dispelled the Deciever is seen in its true form, which is a weapon that has been forged from darkness. Intense combat causes flickers and a powerful spell may temporarily disable the enchantment. The Keyblade’s chosen, major Canon Villains, people who read aura, and those who view the world through a more pure and child-like veil(this can refer to broken of mind) can see through the deceit.
True Description: A long, rune covered blade extends from dragon wings that curve around the hilt. These wings are as sharp and pointed as the blade itself. At the end of this blade is a wicked growth of metal, resembling a small battle-axe head.
Ilussionary Description: Looks like a black keyblade that sparks with green electricity. Usually the blade resembles Oblivion, wile on the rare occasion it appears as Fenrir. This second, rare occurrence dances and sparks with a red electricity instead of green.
(Shards of Darkness) “Key Chains”- Through out the land (and probably in the hands of a powerful admin type) are special artifacts known as Shards of Darkness. These items have been disguised as ordinary things, but bring great destruction once touched by the evil blade.
1- “Bullet in a Bible” small pocket bible, bound in thick leather. A bullet has been lodged in the front of cover. Combining this with the Deceiver you get a piratey looking wide bladed short sword, the hilt and crossbar crafted from a revolver. (weapon is usually used in combination with his defending dagger)
2-“Lost Vikings” a small toy resembling a Viking whose helm is too large and axe that he can barely lift. This Shard, of course, transforms the Deciever into a big, one handed, war axe of a double edged variety. The bottom of said axe is home to a rather nasty looking maul, a sharp spike protruding from its head.
3- “Repo!” a tiny grim reaper plushy, omg it’s so cute! The “Repo!” chain creates a massive and fearsome Scythe.
4- “The Fighten‘ Heartless” small NeoShadow in a comical boxer‘s pose is drawn neatly on this fourleaf clover. When used alone this causes the Deceiver to shape to your own gauntlet, giving him the controlled abilities of Harm/Pranic touch. Also, elemental attacks may focused through the arm and into melee attacks giving him the ability to punch through thick walls, and crack the ground. [within reason]
Orb of Darkness- When all the Shards of darkness are placed into the Deciever at once the wielder is granted a full suit of armor… When inactive it rests upon the wearer like a black trench coat, the zipper is silver and the inner lining is navy blue. There are no special combinations, only a full set.
Note: Each weapon change provides a different fighting style, not a new a power. This keeps the combat with Daein fresh and new from encounter to encounter and must be earned through character development. When each is combined to form a perfect weapon/armor combination no one weapon is used but a weapon similar to Neckrid’s from Soul Calibur II, which places a unique fighting and weapon style into the users repertoire. Though the user can choose to keep the Orb in the form of a weapon selectable through the shards of darkness, there is no purpose in this other than look wile traveling.
A new weapon must be found if, by choice or by force, the darkness is banished from his heart.
Appearance: standing at six feet five inches, this ivory skinned man towers over many. Black, malign orbs gaze out at the world in a chilling manor. They writhe and churn, like an onyx smoke floating in pools of mercury. Just a few inches above this is a widow’s peak that feathers out into a long spiky hair that whips around in the DarkWind. This midnight blue grows strait up, in a classic “ascended saiyajin” style. His long face is set with broad cheekbones and the look of someone who hasn’t slept or shaven in many days. Ears of an elfin quality exist in a quite noticeable fashion on either side of his head, though they do not stick out but run parallel with his skull. His long pointed jaw is home to a thick, black-blue, stubble that travels down to just past his predominant Adam’s apple. This rather long and stubbly neck resides on broad shoulders. His rather large body holds a nice, athletic tone that subtly avoids the line of grotesquely over muscled. He is thin and almost wiry when it comes to his slightly unproportioned body. The only thing bulky about this man are his bones, and perhaps the object that’s concealed nicely in his tight black pants- about six inches from the fangs on the skull shaped belt buckle. The milky white exposed skin between belt and open jacket front has found rest for a single tattoo. A black heart, with red stitching over it in an X draws attention to a well-muscled area just above his belt, just to the left. The long torso is made up of long accented muscles that travel up a power-toned core to a set of tight, but small pectorals and smallish man nipples. There is not a spec of hair anywhere on his visible body. He is wearing a cobalt blue zip-up duster. A black fingerless bandit’s glove on his right hand, that extends up to just below his elbow. A long red scarf loosely wrapped around his neck and shoulders. An intricate full plate spiked pauldron and gauntlet singular combination on his left shoulder, arm, and hand. A silver skull belt buckle, (CONCIELED: back strap belt, and sheath combo) and blue-black belt is worn on his waist. Sinfully tight black leather pants is worn on his legs. Black combat boots of standard military issue are worn on his feet.
Halloween Town: Garbed in an article of clothing so shreaded and decayed its unrecognizable he floats above the ground. A faded red rag of considerable length is draped across his shoulders and around his neck. Considerably frayed, the sandpaper-like cloth loosely dangles at his chest- which by the way, cuts off entirely at the midriff. Long arms, heavily clawed, hang down past the final scratched up and incomplete vertebra, which crumbles ever so slightly with his movement. Dirty hair falls over his cheeks and slightly decayed neck. The once dark blue hair, now a silvery tone of its former shade, is of uneven length is matted towards the back. His pale face is splotched with blue and green of an equally pallid hue. One empty socket, filled with shadows, slowly bleeds out this inky smoke, holds a glowing white-green orb of fire. There is no skin, just pealing and slightly cracked skull, it is quite different from the opposite eye. A Mako green emit’s a feint glow from his left side, the damaged lid opening roughly sixty percent of the way. Pulled tight, the skin under this eye moves with the opening and closing of his jaw, which is lipless and is home to long sharp teeth of a highly exposed variety. Strapped across his chest is an old leather strap that is held together by a tarnished and chipped skull buckle, on his back is a large, ancient scabbard that holds a mighty bastard sword. [deciever] [cannot use magic, cannot use “gauntlet abilities/weaknesses”, Cannot use most Deciever abilities, summon heartless creates small undead minions that resemble the heartless they are supposed to be, the less powerful the heartless the more chibi its appearance.]
Animal- Visceral: [coming soon!- no animal decided upon (uses claws)]
Animal- Anthropolymorphic: [coming soon!- no animal decided upon (uses claws and magic combination)]
ToonTown/- (simplified, will be completed at a later date- focus needs to return to history and RP sample) [Comical yet cool] Slicked back hair, zoot suit (would be dark blue with a light blue interior if the world had color), fedora(small, no feather), lucky strike cigarette(never runs out), zippo with Heartless emblem on it. [uses switchblade/butterfly knife and Tommy gun, can only use fire and electricity, Deceiver is barely functioning here, gauntlet abilities/weaknesses are n/a]
Personality:
Attention Deficit… Oooh Shiny!: Suffering from severe ADD and ADHD he is impulsive and hyper, and uses this to his advantage in battle. He has learned to cope with this spectrum disorder, and does quite well for himself. Odds are you won’t notice it unless you spend a great deal of time with him.
Life, or something like it: Not overly concerned with innocent life, he isn’t bothered the casualties of war. Having never really developed any real, personal bonds (excluding Rah) he is rather detached from the ideals that make a person human. This has created a rather beast like quality within his base personality, and combat style. Without the inhibitors created by humanity, he is very cruel and sadistic. Quite charming, he exhibits many traits of a sociopath. These are not traits he originally possessed and become apparent when working to either to destroy a group from the inside out or pull some one away from the light. Written into his personality by Maleficent with the intent of using him to infiltrate groups with strong hearts, it is artificial and will vanish when his amnesia is cured.
The Good Little SOLDIER: He follows orders exceedingly well and without question. He can dismantle and reassemble a semi-automatic in record time, perform standard and advanced combat drills with ease, and his hospital corners are beyond perfect. If put in command of a unit, expect ambition and military precision in his duties. When assigned to a group he exceeds expectation if working under an acknowledged superior. Both a Leader and a Team Player, he is ideal for nearly any mission. He can be subtle or destructive, depending on the war game. This part of his old, Shinra programming surfaces when required to get a task done, like some strange Multiple Personality Disorder switch that can be flipped on and off as required by circumstance.
Emotional Discord: Dark and brooding, he’s every woman’s dream. Well, if they’re looking for a violently unstable man with relationship issues that has the stamina and sex drive of Greek myth. Verbally abusive and aggressive, he’s the ideal match for those girls that immediately seek out the most damaged guy in the room. Usually calm, collected, and cool he conceals this wildly manic self quite well.
Lust and Sexual Confusion: he is bisexual, with a heterosexual preference. Having only a very small number of inhibitions he is extremely open minded and not affected by a change in world and will (in nearly all cases) find the inhabitants sexually attractive. IE: pridelands, Atlantia, Halloween town, Muppet Theater, ect, ect.
Music: I believe a lot can be learned about a character when music is assigned to them, be it a game or movie or a reference in a book. The songs that are associated with a character gives great insight into there personality, role, and intentions. This has no bearing (to my knowledge) in rp itself, but just a section to get a better feel for Daein.
Theme- Remember by Disturbed
Battle- You’re Going Down by Sickpuppies
GummieTravel- Chocobo ultimate techno remix
Love- Trash/Adidas both by KoRn
Weaknesses:
Insomniac Blue: He suffers from extreme, self-induced insomnia; this can impair his judgment and vision. His impulsive nature causes him do and say things he may regret later. Acute paranoia, a symptom of his insomnia, sometimes causes hallucination and the distrust of the people around him. In extreme cases, narcolepsy is present in his condition. When passed out special rules apply, refer to WITHDRAWAL.
Loyal Recklessness: His loyal nature can severely affect his decision-making skills, which could put himself or others in harms way.
Unlucky: He tends to find unstable situations, or people. He also often runs out of Speed potions at the worst times, causing mayhem and confusion for his party.
The element of Pain: Weak against certain elemental damage types: Light, Ice, and Water based attacks do massive amounts of damage. Earth (rock and stone, NOT nature) based defense can prove troublesome for his magicks (and combat style- but will cease to be problem as character develops. Non-melee attacks will always be weak against this element)
The Blind Truth: Bright light is damaging to his eyes and he must wear sunglasses in Agraba, Destiny Isles, Disney Castle, and Radiant Garden. (If I’ve missed anything else that’s obvious let me know)
The Achilles heal: He is most vulnerable when his left arm is exposed. Damage is in quad form when targeting bare skin anywhere from the left shoulder blade down to his fingertips, X8 on already bruised skin.
A Light in the Darkness: Not even Maleficent can abolish all the light from his heart. An immeasurably small amount holds him back from his true potential as a Champion of the Darkness and keeps him within the grasp of redemption. This can be altered through interaction and RP
ADDICTION: Speed Drink- He suffers from an extreme addiction the Speed Drink, which he uses to keep himself awake for long periods of time in order to escape his nightmares.
WITHDRAWAL: “As luck with have it, you’re out of Speed Drink!” and “Uh oh, your stash is empty” would be feared message window to any player had to work with him in an actual SquareEnix game. Watch his withdrawal meter rise, creating irritability and extreme hallucination- sit back and watch the hilarity that ensues. If he goes too long without the return of the addicted substance he will grow weaker, until fainting, at which point he may be moved around by other characters or even murdered as his right to post in defense is forfeit during this state of incapacitation.
Original World: Realm of Darkness. (Pre-amnesia: Midgar) Current Residing World: Realm of Darkness/City that Never Was
History/Background: Somewhere deep in the slums of Midgar, a child was born. The father was a Shinra employee, and the man was is in major debt to the company. He worked hard every day, but his gabling debts outweighed his yearly salary by a substantial sum. Finally, the company came to colect his debt and the results were disastrous.
Officially, the mother died in labour and the child was a casualty in still birth. The father was attacked by some sort of animal in his own home sometime later. The house was left bloody and destroyed. Whatever did this was clearly not human, or wasn’t human anymore. The body was not found, well in one piece. They found him for weeks wile cleaning and even discarded up to five miles away. However off the record, Shinra had destroyed the man and taken his wife and child, they had loose an experiment in the house and collected the other two. Mother and son were separated, lost in the folders of a branch that has no name because it does not exist. The child, Born Rellin Crow, and redubbed Project Sevin, was trained to be something more than elite. As time went on he mastered every task he was given. His existence, if any one found him, would be denied and he would be discharged immediately and without hesitation along with his non-existent files..
When Sev was still young he was started on a regiment of chemicals, including Mako. This made him stronger and faster than most. His eyes, of course, were changed by the natural substance. The brilliant green was common among the few he knew as his brothers. They soon noticed that his body was strengthening, hardening. He could take on the strongest of opponents at the age of ten without a scratch. They began testing this, Iron Mace shattering on his torso, swords cracking when used to bludgeon against him. Even bullets were not quite as hazardous as they should be. He could be cut, that much was obvious, and he could bleed. The stronger he got the more they realized that his entire left arm was becoming an Achilles heal.
After a short study they ruled that his mutation was not a direct side affect the chemical regiment but the mixture of his genetic structure, the Mako, and the way his body reacted and absorbed the energy produced by the materia he used.
On a side note: several failed tests later the science division realized they could not use him to genetically engineer new soldiers. All specimens died before birth, the cause could not be determined. It was also true that they could not inject soldiers with a special mixture of his DNA, as they would often commit suicide or die in their sleep. This also confounded them at every turn, there seemed to be no rhyme or reason for the after affects. More often than not the deaths and suicides happened without warning or build up of any kind, and happened when performance was optimal. The other percent rejected the mixture and died within the hour of injection, slowly and painfully. These were ended, and are of course completely off the record.
They ceased treatment after he nearly lost the arm all together. The withdrawals were murder, and he proved it time and time again. At sixteen years old he was the most feared project in the building, for nearly three months he maimed and killed and tore through walls in an angry tirade. Each day he became more and more normal, but he would never be the same.
The Senior Partners debated putting him down, but it was ruled that far to much was invested into his growth, not to mention the resources and personal they would lose in the attempt. They waited for the detox to run its course. By the fourth month he was once a gain a good little solider, they could control him. Three years went by before he was anything close to human, but he clearly wasn’t ready for fieldwork. He would never reach a point where he could spar with normal humans. Any one weaker than an Elite would always end up dead, and the Elite were far too expensive to just throw away in his training.
Eventually he was set to a true challenge. He was taken aside by officials he only knew by “Sir”, though he knew them well enough to know they were in charge. “This is the leader of AVELANCH” the man told him. “His Name is Barret, Get to know him and the rest in the file. Once you have completed this you will choose your equipment wisely, then you will infiltrate and destroy them when you can.” Choosing simple clothing: a blood red scarf, black acid wash jeans, heavy boots and a light blue shirt. All articles tattered and torn, spotted with blood and mud… he would fit in well in the slums and he knew it. Grabbing two daggers, one specifically a defender. He slid them into their respective sheathes and fastened his belt. He then grabbed his gauntlet and spualder, attaching them to his left arm. A scimitar placed at his hip, and three Materia in his pocket. Leaving at 0’200 hours, he never made it to his destination.
Deep in the train graveyard he was attacked. Heartless and Nobodies from every angle at overwhelming odds. Neither parties doing any damage to the other and soon they just piled atop him in an attempt to smother him. In some ways it worked, the knocked his gauntlet off. Suddenly the world was a bright cacophony of sound and light, it was beautiful. And then… there was nothing. The creatures were absorbed into him, into his arm. Slowly his eyes went black, the iris and pupil merging into one cloud of black smoke that swirls lazily as if trapped in some orb. The cornea changed to brilliant platinum, reflective and smooth.
Rellin Crow, code named Sevin- born to and raised by Shinra was twenty-four years old when he vanished. He was twenty-four years old when the Profound Darkness plucked him from his home world and placed him the darkest one. And so he wandered the realm under her guidance. Usually only hearing a voice in the darkness instructing him and training him, she kept him hidden from the ones that would dwell there. For three years she twisted him into a warrior of darkness and with each step into the darkness he took, the more he lost his memories. The Materia was absorbed into his body, changing the way he used his elemental powers. Over time even the elements themselves were changed, corrupted by his own darkness. Many a day she spoke to him, and told him who he was, and what he would do. “You are the white beast of black heart.” She told him. She would lie and twist him into the warrior she wanted him to be.
Sev woke on the cold, hard ground, in a vast expanse of nothing. A voice, commanding and powerful reverberated around him, “Rise, and embrace your destiny.” He did as he was told, confused and sore, and stared into the darkness in attempt to not only find the voice, but gain his bearings as well. Sevin called out into the nothingness, “Who are you?” A dark and terrible beauty stepped forward out of the expanse to stand before him. She narrowed her green eyes as she spoke, “Maleficent.” Her black-purple lips moving out sync with her words, she stepped forward and her staff burst into a green light. “And… Who am I?” Sevin asked. “You are Daein Orajefue, of course. And you are a Champion of Darkness.” The woman responded. Unsure why, he accepted this to be true and nodded. “You… You’re the queen of... all this? The Profound Darkness?” As she considered her response, she turned away from him in dramatic affect and replied, “Yes.”
Three years later
He cursed under his breath as he ran through the filthy streets. Around him was fire, and death. Familiar shops were ablaze and the bodies, some crisp others not, were all empty shells of their former lives. Twisting and turning through the streets he charged forward, his the sounds of clunky boots echoing around him. Then, at one final turn, he was faced with a wall of smoke and fire… and empty space. A massive crater had been blown in the street, fresh and smoldering. He picked up speed and lept over the the great chasm. He hit the ground on the other side in a tucking roll and was soon up and running once again.
His scarf flapped in the wind at his back, continuing on- he ignored the ash and the ember falling from the sky, ignored the burn in his legs, ignored the streaming sweat from his brow, he had to keep going, he was drivin by some unseen force and nothing could stop him. Just around a corner a wall exploded in a violent burst of hot glass and metal shrapnel, but he narrowly avoided it. Safe from the blast, he still felt the sting and the warm blood that began to pool at the shard and dirt filled tears in cheek. He knew it was too dangerous down here, so he began to ascend to the higher levels; jumping and running from building to building, he began to the journey upward.
At the higher buildings, he settled himself on a roof towards the middle, inner city and began to shout into the swirling chaos above. His knives came free from his belt as his mouth open and tongue loosened from his head, “Come down here and fight me you Coward!” he vociferated. The response came quite suddenly, it was first a feeling and then the sight as iron and muscle plunged deep into the his stomach. The pain was much more than he could bare and he doubled over on the ground. As he looked up, his eyes travled over a man in obsidian armor, outlined in green runic symbols. But this wasn’t just any man, it was himself.
The doppleganger grinned down at Daein, his face twisted into a sadistic mask and his hands began to spark- then glow in a bright red that bathed his armor in a silhouette of blood that made his gaunt eyes seem even deeper set. Daein attempted to rise but the slightest nudge from the double sent him back sprawling. Hand rose to sky, and green blasted from it in a terrible and destructive beam of light. The beam shot out and into the night, strait for the Shinra Tower! The already burning building reigned sparks from many different broken windows and as the green light touched the tower it exploded in decimation which carved a large chunk out of the side.
The doppelganger floated back down to the man on the ground as a blade materialized in his hand. It was long and black, with green bolts of electricity that spark and dance across the cold metal. His thumb moved out and flipped back a small switch that clicked noisily above the chaos. He lifted the short sword up to his brow in a mock salute and then pointed tip directly at man on the ground. A sharp crack was all he heard, it echoed through the skies and buildings as a ball of hot iron shot from the hilt of the weapon and tore through the place that connects Daein’s neck to his chest. He fall back one final time, the blood soaked his clothes and pooled on the ground, steaming at the cold concrete and metal.
Suddenly he found himself high above the world, looking down at the carnage. It didn’t take long for him to realize that he was on a building, and it was falling over. He slid down at an ever increasing angle and with nothing to grab onto he found himself falling off the Shinra Tower into the nothingness below. He fell, fell away from the tower, away from himself, and twisted his body around to try and get his barings- see if he could land on or grab anything. He found himself looking down at a green face staring up at him, Maleficent’s face. Her black lips pulled tight into a disapproving purse. Miles upon miles of green, black, and purple was stretched out across the infanate void that was before him, and as he touched down to her, he fell through and the glass shattered around him, falling about him in a cacophony of noise.
“She lies. She lies. ShE LiEs. LIES, she LIeS” A whisper came in through the noise, though grew to a manic scream. The voice was serpentine, and just when he thought the loop would never end it did. And then, there was silence. He continued fall, he felt like he had been falling forever and time stood still, the glass stopped in mid air, slowed to a subtle tilt and the next voice hissed from the darkness. It tugged at the fringes of his memory. “Don’t you have something to do? Some one to kill?” The darkness was eviscerated in a blinding light. When it faded he was standing, surrounded by people, people he knew. People he should know. He knew every line of their face, even the sounds of their voices. Yet they were foreign to him. “Don’t you have some one to kill?” The voice repeated.
He knew the voice was right, but he didn’t know how or why. He didn’t know them, but he did. Especially the large one, with the gun on his hand. Each of them were frozen solid, like satutes. But they flickered in and out like they were some sort of glitched recording. “Your mission is not over… Do not forget who you are.” the voice echoed.
Cold and wet, Daein Orajefue opened his eyes. “I… must have dosed off… again…” he muttered to himself as he sat up, wiping his brow. “Who… are those people? What is that town?” he thought aloud. He stood up and went looking for his shirt. “hrm.. Where the…?” He pulled the small camp apart but the shirt was nowhere to be found. Utterly baffled, he donned his jacket, fit the armless side over his gauntlet. As he picked up the Shoulder guard and fastened it over the jacket he mumbles, “Ugh… it feels so real…”He reached up and touched the place where his double shot him, then wrapped his scarf around his shoulders and neck. “I would bring it with the Queen again… but…” he sighed and continued his journey toward the City that Never Was.
Role Playing Sample: This is an excerpt from his bio, it was posted here as a role-playing sample. Please treat it as character history and relevant to his story.
A tall man, pale as porcelain stands in a black clearing. His hair and coat whip around in a wind that only exists around him. He narrows his smoky, black eyes and reaches his arm out. In flash of green a weapon appears in his hand. The sleek black blade seems to be made of solid darkness, it extends out into an intricate axe-like shape. The cross bar on the hilt flows back, over the hand in the shape of bat wings. The weapon crackles and sings as electricity arcs over and around the metal. The green lines dance on it like some testament to its unholy origins. He dashes forward, his arms out behind him and the demonic blade sparks on the ground. The grating noise echoes around him and finally, he brings the weapon up in a sweeping arc.
Dodging nimbly out of the way, a young woman no more than eighteen giggles at the clumsy attempt. As she moves her breasts jiggle lightly and she brings her staff down on the top of his head. In a blur the hard wood flips around backwards to follow up with a strike the chin, courtesy of the long defensive other end. She smiles down at him tauntingly. “You know better than that. If this was a real fight, I would have splattered your brains across the ground already!” After a few moments she instigates another round.
Daein sprawls back and hits the ground hard, blood trickling from his newly acquired busted lip. Looking up at her, he sits up. Spread eagle and dazed, he rises as quickly as possible. “Rah, you know I don’t sleep well, those nightmares are really getting to meHe staggers forward, regaining focus in time to block three blows in rapid succession. “Besides, this is always real. If you had a real chance you’d string my guts across the ground, you’re just playing with me!”
“Sleep well? You don’t sleep at all, constantly downing Speed Drinks to stay awake… They don’t even speed your movements any more do they?” She says as she launches a few more quick strikes. She smiles her most dazzling smile and continues speaking, “Oh Daein, you know me so well!”
Succesfully parrying three of the four attacks, he stumbles back as the final blow jabs him in the sternum. “I’ve.. Yagh... found a—Erk! Way to….” He says as he dodges her staff. He whips around to the side of her, and unleashes a torrent of ShadowLighning. “I can separate the amphetamines from the potion, but it takes a lot of the drink. The potions don’t work as well as they used to.”
Spinning her staff around expertly she drives him back wile she listens to him speak, but quite suddenly he’s gone. The next thing Nocturassi knows that her blindside has been exploited. The pain runs through her like… well, electricity, and she’s sent flying through air. A quick Ariel recovery has her back on her feet and charging in.
Laughing heartily, Daein lashes out with a powerful blow. His other hand conjuring up a ball of black fire and launching it at Rah, the fire growing and expanding like the living element it is. He twists back and to the side, sending another volley of electricity as follow-through.
Her staff comes up to knock his blow away, and then catches on fire. She drops the wooden longweapon as it’s quickly reduced to ash, her fingers and hands getting a little burnt. Dodging back, the fire continues to follow her. She leaps high over the flames, only to see Daein’s personal brand of Thundaga shoot out in a massive bolt. She lands behind him, reaching out her hand a blade materializes in a flash of red. A blade resembling a modern key extends four feet from the massive hilt. This crossbar also angles back and wraps back around the hand, though not quite so eloquently as the one Daein had summoned. Electricity crackles and twirls about the weapon of the same red that had summoned it. Raising her blade she brings it down hard on her opponents exposed shoulder.
Watching the carnage unfold before him, he smiles in triumph, but he notices a soft flash of light out of his peripheral he turns quickly. The blow is violent and powerful; the force knocks him back as he just barely blocked it. He feigns a lunge in response, in a feeble attempt to keep ground. She deflects it barbarically, nearly knocking the blade from his hands. “Its over Daein, I’ve finally achieved my primary directive.” She says smiling and launches another set of blows and thrusts.
Every stroke of the blade, every movement she makes, and shockwave that’s sent into her body with every parry causes her perky, smallish breasts into an obvious jiggle. Her athletic body bending and moving along with the swings of her blade and steps she takes forward with the grace of a dancer and attacking with a strength that match her small body frame. Locks of blood flow over her shoulders and chest, all this has Daein’s focus causing his focus to waver more than usual. Barely able to defend himself he looses his footing and falters. Suddenly the darkness inside him surges up like a cornered animals survival instincts. He feels it flow over him, guide him, and he lets it swallow him hole and become merely a tool, a vessel. His eyes flash menacingly with the clash of metal on metal, and he begins to take ground by force.
Nocturassi gasps as he begins to drive her back. Her near victory short lived, the shock and despair washing over her, destroying her focus, and Daein was forcing her to suffer for her weakness just as She had just done to him. Deflecting strike after strike her defense begins to weaken.
Reaching behind his back he stealthily unsheathes his Kurkri wile launching an unrelenting fencer styled barrage. His attack seemingly laced with skill and confidence, a ballsy attempt to hide his true intent. The specialty blade flashes wickedly in the light as it moves with a deadly speed. He roughly knocks her blade aside as he brings his off handed weapon up towards her lower torso. The white beast’s eyes flash as he grins wickedly.
Falling back with each step taken, she uses every bit of her skill to keep his blade away from her. She watches him bring his left hand back behind him, pulling his jacket to the side he also stands straight and tall. She chuckles at his arrogance, but unfortunately it does nothing to improve her situation, as the barrage is nearly unbearable. Finally it comes to an end with a savage cross stroke that knocks her blade arm up to the side, and then she sees her imminent defeat. A second blade is brought around in a sweeping arc that the man has turned into, moving his body to strengthen blow, and she feels it sink into her flesh like a hot knife through butter.
It is obviously a killing blow, but he doesn’t stop there, he sadistically yanks it upward towards her ribcage, tearing her bodily. Jerking it one more time for good measure he twists it ninety degrees and pulls it out. He catches her limp body in his arms gazes down at her, “Well, looks like I’ve won, love.”
Coughing and gasping, she smiles trough the pain. A thick, inky black smoke rises from her wound. “Almost… beat you this time…” She whispers. Reaching up she strokes his cheek. “I never… Saw it coming.” She groans in pain, the light in her eyes flickering. “I’m proud of you, Daein. You… your learning.”
He smiles back, silently listening. He leans down and kisses her before she can continue. “Stop playing and heal yourself.” He whispers to her, almost chuckling at her dramatic sense of humor. Tenderly, he pushes the hair back behind her ear. A trilling, melodic laugh flows from her throat, “Your no fun!” she shouts as she pushes him away. The wound already gone, she easily rights herself and saunters over to the camp. “I’ll be in here… changing.” She giggles, as she subtly beckons her lover.
An unseen presence watches the events unfold, emotionless and cold… Until the disgusting show at its end, that is. Anger rises up within her and in a green, fiery eruption she bursts into a corporeal from. Her green eyes narrowed, she addresses the two. “And what do you think you’re doing?”
Daein steps back, and then drops to his knee as his mind catches up with the events. Remaining silent he bows his head and waits for the upcoming punishment.
The girl whips around and hits her knees mere moments before the green flames erupted from thin air. She also takes the silent route, knowing that was no lying to her mistress.
The tall, beautiful woman glided forward and roughly took her creation by the shoulder and hoisted Nocutrassi to her feet. “You were made to spar with him, to be his companion and keep him sane, and even kill him if he proved too weak to deserve your training. Fun and love were not things I built you with.”
Finding himself completely immobile, he remains still- or so it would look. He uses all of his strength and mental energy to break the enchantment, but he is no match for the might of sorceress.
Rah, utterly confused, blinked back at her. “You mean… I’m not in trouble for… with him?” she asks.
Maleficent glares down at her, “Stupid girl, that is part of your duty as his companion. No I mean this love you have for him, and he has for you. Its appalling and disgraceful, you have shamed the darkness you serve and the weapons I have forged from It.” She turns her head around to scowl at her warrior, “She will die and you will watch.”
Deain yells out, and his head is forced up for the viewing. Unable to move, unable to look away he glares forward.
The girl is torn apart, every wound he had ever inflicted upon her reforms. Now a black ink looking substance drips from her wounds and smoke flows from eyes and mouth as she throws her head back and howls with animosity and pain. Her tears are the same black blood and it streams down her face and neck. Soon there is nothing left to rip and she slowly evaporates and floats away.
Screaming out in anguish, the warrior begins to tremble. The blade his lover had once used appears in off hand. Black Vengeance sparked dangerously in harmony with The Deceiver, red and green arching over and through Daein’s body. His skin and hear flashing, the colours inverting and returning and the speed of the transition increasing rapidly. Launching forward with an inhuman speed, he unleashes himself upon the queen.
Black lips pull tight into a smile, a hand is raised and time stops leaving Daein frozen- contorted in a pose of aerial attack. “Most interesting….” She says as she circles him. “Your power… is amazing… and your courage… quite foolish. You are ready. Sleep now and when you wake you will journey to the City that Never Was. You will always remember what has happened here, and you always remember I can bring her back if you complete your mission. When you reach the City I will give you the next task.”
Daein drops the ground, his weapons gone and body normal. Resting, and for the first time in as long as he can remember he dreamt about something different. This time he saw Rah die, over and over again. Watching the endless torment from every angle and always ending with Maleficent’s words.

You can't be Maleficent's apprentice without talking to our Maleficent player, and paying some attention to cannon timelines. That's not when we have VII's Gaia ending. Tifa never made it to Midgar. Soldier didn't pull stuff like that. Shin-ra, maybe, and generally more gruesomely, but not SOLDIER.
On top of that, your weapon appears to have gone though the list of things not to have and tried to subvert it all.
I realize you tried to make it not OPed, but I think you may be working from a different power level system.

I've spoken to Jason already, he said he'd have to take a look at the character bio itself. I haven't heard anything back from him yet.
On top of that, your weapon appears to have gone though the list of things not to have and tried to subvert it all.
I tried to work around the Keyblade bit, I just like the way they look... I could care less about the whole keybearer bit, its just not for me. I generally go for the Anti-Hero role, which would in the long run deny me an actual keyblade because... well hes no where close to Sora, a sociopath does not have a heart like that. I'm only interested in the look of it and I was really hoping we could come to an agreement on the whole... weapon facade.. thing.
As for the Gunblade and Zanbatos(buster sword) I actually found the file that clearly states I CANNOT have cannon weapons AFTER I completed and posted the character profile. Having said that: I have emailed a mod about this, Shiya, and she said I would have to ask permission, I in fact just logged in and read said response to message before coming to this thread to check for a response. So, if there is any way to apply for these cannon weapons I would be more than happy to go through the standard "jump through this hoop, wile standing on one hand and reciting the pledge of allegiance entirely in reverse... oh and did we mention the hoop is on fire?" routine of "We really don't want you to have it, but I'll have a little fun before saying no" just so that I can say I gave it a good run.
I realize you tried to make it not OPed, but I think you may be working from a different power level system.
Responding to this section with the best understanding I have of the quoted problem, when I say growing in power level, I kinda mean: character development and through roleplay appear to become stronger. Wile yes, already starting off fairly strong, I tried to justify this with his extensive training. I'm not saying he could walk to Xemnas, pick a fight, and expect to walk away in one piece(let alone at all). And yes, I did work at giving him just as many disadvantages as I did advantages in an attempt to balance him out.
That's not when we have VII's Gaia ending. Tifa never made it to Midgar.
I... actually didn't know that... and I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding, but I know this will be cleared up when I better research this.
Soldier didn't pull stuff like that. Shin-ra, maybe, and generally more gruesomely, but not SOLDIER.
I may be a little confused, but isn't SOLDIER the military branch of this world ruling corporation? I may need to brush up on my cannon and world history before we continue much farther.
past tense for History and Sample. Please.
Definitely not a strong point for me as (I'm sure you've noticed) I keep switching tensing during creative writing. This has always proved difficult, staying in one tense, and I have been trying to correct it. I will work harder to revise the bio to fit the expected format and take the world history into proper consideration. This may take some time so please don't expect an immediate, official edit.
With this all covered, was there anything else wrong? I don't mind the Homework
I'm afraid I don't have any hoops for you. When we make a rule, there's a reason for it. I'm saying no now.
Ah - you also switch between third and second person.
In the general way, we like people to start at the beginning. I believe that's part of what I'm running into, with the powers. You never start a game with three -agas, you know?

Hmm.... I like it... Just one question regarding the history... Is it pretty much leaving off where he is now? As in... Is his first thread going to be in the City that never was?
If thats the case, then even better. I would rather the apprenticeship happen closer to the current timeline then earlier in the past. So if this is the case, then I'll approve it. It can always be developed more in actual RP.

I apologize for not having updated at least something by now, kinda dealing some family... stuff.
As for the weaponry and spells, I can do some major revamp work on that...
History.... I'll see what I can change to make it work, I'll need to edit his age... to make the training in itself less past tense and more of something that is either in the middle of or comeing to an end... If you(Jason) have any requests as to were to begin with that its shiny.
I'll start work on it today and get files transferred to my laptop, I'll even change the RP sample as its really not quite appropriate for a sample and more in lines of history, so I'll rearange things, turn into a story format and not a full on interaction...
I just woke up a bit ago, waiting for coffee... so if this doesn't make sense at all, there's at the very least, an explanation. I will, in the future, refrain from tired posting. the exception here being I felt an update of some sort would be required after this much time.
