Lol, jk. But seriously, like I said, those characters have earned it. Sure, Kairi would get her tiny butt whomped by a miltary soldier... but if you think that a Keyblade and her fists are her only power, you certainly don't comprehend the dynamics of the game, aside from the obvious fact that Kairi is no fighter, and has only once, out of desperation, raised a weapon. This is like me saying Rook could beat Sephiroth, if Sephiroth was a a cripple with brain tumors, or that Joeschmoe Blackmage McNoobenstien could beat Seifer in a battle of magic (which we've never seen him use, that being my point). Canon or not, characters still have niches they excel at. Kairi, as a Princess of Heart, obviously she has powers none of us know of yet.

But this all gets away from the point Role started this thread for, and would likely be better suited for one of the proper Idea Threads.

O.o the O's tend to be my signature for anything that deals with plots and rping...for some reason. *shruggles*. Just wanted to shed the light how, you had oppurtunities to collaborate and interact with others. That one thread is the one that united enough people Rubix/Max/Erika/Caxnon/Mikael/Ria << I think that's it. I think Max and I had the same idea without knowing >> about inviting you to that thread, buuut you never replied yet you opened it.

In short, if IC activity is a problem, (lol) it can definately be fixed. (O.o) I call myself a "plot-whore" << define as >> one who likes to create plots...a lot. (That what happens when one can make stories by dreams, unforunately I need to start dreaming
again) They tend to come a lot when I drink hot chocolate, which was how most of my master Dark XII plans came from.....months ago.

As of now with the flow of plots, I can assure you that two of your characters can be quite busy. Truthfully, when I thought of making Jadis along came with the idea of a villainous cult = possible interaction with Lelita. Also...Dark XII is recruiting = possible interaction with Morissa. To summarize, there's always something going on just need to branch out towards people.

Anywho... as far as my new character is concerned... the thing is, after talking with Sephiroth in the PMs, I got the impression that he REALLY doesn't want a character like that in the RP. Part of my frustration actually IS the fact that I just made her and got her approved, and that I'd have LOVED to get that bit of intel sooner. The problem is... I didn't. Despite the fact that I asked if the concept of a summoner was okay, despite the fact that she was waiting to be approved for a while... Sephiroth could have easily stopped it there, but it wasn't until one of the Academy Instructors brought up an interesting point that we had to go double check that I got this information. Kinda felt like a slap in the face, since I put quite a bit of work into getting her made.

As for Rook's point about the plot type threads... I'm not quite sure what you meant. You said something about different kinds or something that you're doing in the PlotCast, but I could have read it wrong. I know of three types of plots, personally - Global, which covers the entire RP, Local, which primarily effects a single world, and Character Specific, which, as it suggests, are specific to the growth and development of a single character.

I must say, though, that I don't expect people to use my system. I have unusually harsh restrictions on myself, and I know this. I'm not forcing y'all to do anything. It's just... Having three of the four most powerful spells on your rather young character is kinda... broken, y'know? That's what I have a problem with. About 30% of the characters I've looked at are like that (that doesn't reflect ALL characters, just the ones I've gone and looked at). I can understand final-boss type villains having that, but not an Average Joe. Just clearing that up. The other 65% have either been kind of decent, or expected (canons). 5% actually applied with rather weaker characters.

@elaeus - I understand your point, and I'll raise you one - there's already plans for Morrisa, but the only thing holding it back is time (it has to be believable, basically). I plan to at least stay long enough for that, though I hope things'll get better by then.

Now, I'll agree with Somedood in that there needs to be at least SOME balance of power going on. Canons are powerful, yes, but as the admin and mods themselves have said: Power should also be proportional to age. A 50-something year old should be capable of a lot of power, but not much growth. A 20-something should have okay power, and quite a bit of room for growth. Someone in their teens should be kinda week, but have a ton of growth potential. It kinda has to do with common sense. Look at Sora. He started as a kid, weak and with no skills. Then he grew a HELL of a lot. Of course, this is boosted by his status as 'MAIN CHARACTER', but something similar should be enforced for common characters. It makes no sense to give some uberpower and to give others tons of nerfing.

In short, I'm still willing to give this site a try, but I'm really starting to lose my patience. It is true that not all of the people with power aren't doing their jobs - Sage I know is at least trying for example. But some have just plain disappeared without warning, and others are giving excuse after excuse. These excuses are getting kind of old, and it's about time that something started to get done. We've addressed countless issues to no avail, and now that they've all built up, it's getting to be a headache. If something isn't done, I'm certain I won't be the only person to leave. It's just... it's kind of getting ridiculous.

For example. Calamity, no longer a member of the site, brought Shiva into play around the same time Leon, who also has Shiva consistently junctioned did. This confused the living hell out of everyone involved. That's just one instance of it happening-- there were a few instances of that sort of thing before you arrived on the site. The reason for wanting you to double check if for you to HAVE that character and not just need to toss it aside.

Sora grew powerful because of special circumstances, just like Kairi and Riku and Roxas. It has nothing at all to do with being a main character and everything to do with them being key to saving the worlds as everyone knows it. From all my experience in profile checking, I've seen many people keep in mind special circumstances around characters. I speak from personal experience. i.e. Rude: He's pretty average. Sure, he's got his strengths. But he's what you would call a "common character" because he's known. Xemnas: Well... he's Xemnas. Enough said. Sei: A fairly average fighter, no special powers, just some common sense in his head. When when I read that it makes me think of my standards.

I've had Leon the longest, so he's the one I use for the bar of standards. He's been through a lot and he's almost 30 (had to fight through a lot to get where he is today and that game play default levels for the RG crew is 100 in terms of stats)-- he's what you can consider "high powered" for normal circumstances kind of character, sure. But compared to Sora? Sora beats him almost every time. Not for lack of skill or anything. It's because there's a balance to things. I look at a profile for a spell caster or a fighter and go, "Okay. How old are they? Does this match up with abilities and history? Okay, I should ask expansion on this. Do they have a good reason? What world do they come from? Someone born in Twilight Town, a place that doesn't really see much violence, isn't going to be as well off as someone who was born in ___ world, where living conditions were more harsh." Some get this power because it makes enough sense for them to, or they've repeatedly sent in profiles to be re-evaluated with updated, earned information.

It's all about choice. You want power? Earn it. Simple as that. Or have a good reason for it. Magic takes a lot of time to learn. Sword fighting is never learned in a single day (as I imagine KH took MUCH longer than game play lets on). And emotional growth adds to that. Like it does in Sora's case, who was pre-destined to help save the worlds.

In short, I'm still willing to give this site a try, but I'm really starting to lose my patience. It's cool asking people "hey, what should I do? I don't know whether I should leave or stay. But those are some pretty petty reason to inflict drama on other people. I get where you're coming from, though. I lost my patience with this place long ago and I'm fighting to get it back because I like it here. I remember how it used to be, but I can face the music: It will never be like it was. Kaze addressed the "excuses" part, so I'll leave that. It's over and done with. And he's right. The reason why issues don't get addressed? Drama like this popping up.

If you want to leave? Leave, that's your choice and I'll respect another player's choice. If you have problems? Go PM staff. That's what they're there for, even if it's just to say how uncomfortable you are with how things are going. Don't go dragging them into muck that they're already neck deep into thanks to maintaining a large sight and, quite frankly, backhanding them for "making excuses". They're players too, and deserve some respect, and don't get paid to do what they do. They're doing what they can, and in the time the can manage to do it, just like you and me.

Only going to correct one thing. Age for humans causes abilities to lessen over time. And their abilities shouldn't be consistent to their age but how long they've trained. Just wanted to have that thing checked. *returns to being a fly

Ever play Final Fantasy X? They solved it easy there. There's a recurring summoner that Yuna has to solo, and when they summon one of the aeons that you've learned, you cannot summon that same one that battle.

Basically, FF pretty must answered your question already: You cannot summon a summon that is already in use. I tried to explain this to Sephi, but I don't think they cared to much to hear it. There already precedent to solve that issue. It's really easy to enforce, you just need to make a notice letting people know how it'd work.

For the Junctioning, that's easy. Even if someone else summoned Shiva against him, she still grants him the abilities. He just can't summon her in the same thread, at least not while she's still active in it. After all, in FF8, it's not like summoning a GF made you lose all the stats and abilities junctioned to you.

However... what I'm ticked about more than anything ISN'T that I can't use summons... It's that I SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF THAT TYPE OF CHARACTER WAS OKAY. And everyone with power, as well as the board vets, totally ignored my question. I'm ticked that I had just a newer member saying that he thought it was okay, then after going and doing all the work of creating them, naming each of the summon charms, looking up all those summons, getting approved, and then FINALLY, in the end, I find out the GM ain't cool with it.

NOT COOL. NOT COOL AT ALL. I REALLY could have used that info sooner, and now it seems like a colossal waste of time and effort on my part. All because people ignored my questions.

Ok. Here's the deal with the summoner.

It had never come up.

No one on staff, that I could see, knew that Seph had a problem with them. And when he saw it, he immediately took action. The problem was that the staff themselves were not aware of any issues, so we couldn't communicate that to you. On behalf of the staff, I sincerely apologize for our not knowing and any and all inconveniences that caused you, and please trust that now that we know it's a no-no, we'll be better prepared in the future.


Kaze, Leon, Rook, and Sage all have said how I feel on most of the other subjects. However, I will point out a few things.

1) I'm currently in the process of adding quests to the worlds designed primarily for OCs. They're hero-level quests that will challenge players and progress them, much as the worlds in the games did. There's currently one in both the Caribbean and Olympus, and players are encouraged to take them on.

2) As far as some OP OCs being accepted is concerned, long story short? Some of the staff members, I'll be frank, are too damn nice when accepting profiles. It depends who you get, really. I'm personally working to end this issue.

It means that Sephiroth, in particular, did not get a chance to answer the question. The other staff members were not aware that Sephiroth, in particular, had an issue with summons. As it's been explained to me, I understand what the issue with summons is, and it makes sense.

The question /was/ in fact answered. Just incorrectly. The staff is human, and therefore prone to mistakes. The question, as it was interpreted, was thus: "Would it be alright to have a major boss type character?" The answer to this is still "Yes." The issue that was brought up with the summons was that "What happens when multiple characters summon the same creature in the same thread?" Two summoners are facing off. They both summon Leviathan. What happens?

In my opinion, the concept of your summoner character still works just fine; there are just a few minor kinks to work out.
