In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

Changed the title of the thread for the sake of correct-ness.
I've been hard at work, folks! This thread will be changing shortly from "a thread about a custom Rook figure" to "a thread about Rook's custom figures"!
In addition to the Rook figure seen below, I'm adding...
Rook 2.0 figure (Now age accurate!) Cadence figure A step-by-step alongside the Cadence project to show y'all the process. Laurel figure
Oh Yuffie... Why must you sully everything that I love?
That said, I'll soon be starting work on a Laurel figure, as well as a scale age/size appropriate Rook figure what will make him look more his age... updates when they develop.
UPDATES! Caps lock is cruise control for cool, so you know it must be good.
Anyway, new work is on the spoke. The first post of this thread has been highly altered to relay that. Stay tuned for new news as it develops in the coming week!
Much procrastination, and one dremel head later, Rook 2.0 is finished. I'll likely find another dremel bit and shave down the arms, giving him his trademark vest, culimnating in the final version, Rook 2.5. But I have other projects to get to, so that will have to wait. Til then, here's this...
My biggest issues: The initial coat of primer I laid down was old, and tended to bump on the chest and arms. The back is fine, but it did bring some unevenness to the figure. Like i said above, eventually, when I have less to do, I'll likely shave down the jacket arms and give him a bare-armed vest look. I just didn't have the energy for it this go around.
Also, the camera I now have is still a work in progress. I'm trying to figure out the settings, and why it views clear, but photographs blurry.
That aside, I've already started on my Cadence figure, and had more than a lot of fun chopping up a Kairi figure (before and after pictures to come shortly).
Tell me what you think! I'm still new to the "kitbashing" and customizing scene, so if anyone has comments suggestions, whatever, i wanna hear them.
Edit> Posted a few on my DevArt. I know one of you asked me to be more active there so... bases covered.
Alrighty-roo... I've had this about 98% done for a few weeks now, but either unable to finish it, or unable to find my troublesome camera. As warned, here was a pictoral step-by-step on how I do my ever-so time-consuming hobby...
Everyone knows Kairi, and anyone who is in on the Play Arts figures knows she got her likeness immortalized in plastic.
Using this as a base, I took a battery-powered dremel tool with sander bit and an exacto knife and sanded, cut, chopped and all-around shredded poor Kairi's wardrobe until it was workable. This included cutting off the skirt, sanding off the sleeve curls on her shoulders, trimming her shirt, and shaving off the tie entirely.
That done, using some .35mm plastic sheets, my stove, and a few tweezers, I warmed the plastic until it was plyable, and either bent it to my evil whim, or wrapped it around it's necessary limb.
With the pieces glued, attatched and now in place, I placed masking tape over the pieces I would end up leaving either unpainted, or in their original color. Now, I screwed the pooch on the image of this step, so just imagine the above shot, with masking tape over the skin and shoes, and then painted grey with primer.
With a few layers of grey, and some ample time to dry, I peeled off the tape, and painted the grey-bits.
Fully painted, I now bringing you the third figure of my Kingdom Hearts: World Destiny line, heeeere's Cadence Kanrik!
Eventually, once I have the paint and time, I'm going to make her eyes the appropriate green, and slit the sleeves so they articulate with the elbow joint.
Anywhat, I planned on doing Laurel for the next wave, but since she is only sporadically active, I may switch to another OC, maybe Ikari. Not entirely sure yet.
Yeah, it's pretty new, and I'm still trying to work out the kinks with it, but it seems to have issues focusing. I'm no expert on cameras, but it's in focuswhen I line up the shot, then auto-focuses into a blur. :/
