Name: Talia Valenci
Nickname: Tally, Vee, Alice
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Position: Evil
Powers: She has the power to work magic, Fire coming easiest to her. Due to her stubborn nature, she usually doesn't stop trying until she succeeds which has currently put her training for ice magic on hiatus. Talia also wants to learn how to control Thunder, but finds it difficult because electricity and water do not mix.
Her parents were also gifted in a special technique which requires blood to activate the seal. Talia is not of age to use it yet and has not completely learned the basis. The Hanchi (Blood Seal) technique allows the user to use all elements at a basic level but a faster and more agile rate. However, it takes a large toll on the user's physical condition.
Weapon: In Talia's possession is a dagger, forged from obsidian and engraved with an ivory rose. In the middle of the rose lies a socket where one of three gems can be placed. Each stone is laced with its own power (amethyst, jade, and bloodstone). Jade heals while increase strength by 2%. Bloodstone increases critical damage to enemies, but also destroys stamina at a rapid pace. Amethyst increases the magic power, making Talia's strength in fire greater and more powerful, her ice magic only slightly better as it is the weaker of the two.
Picture:Appearance: Talia has whitish almost silver bangs, the rest of her hair a raven black. It falls about to her waist. She is about 5'4" in height, about 118 pounds in weight, her body athletic and her curves slight. Her ears are pierced from when she was a baby, but she also has a piercing higher up on her left ear. Her face is heart shaped, her creamy skin complimented by forest green eyes.
When it comes to clothes, she takes easily to darker colors. Her normal attire consists of a overly large black and grey hoodie jacket and a purple halter top with a black choker, the ornament hanging there a glass bell. Her hands are covered by striped white and black gloves, fingerless and ending at the start of her wrist. Talia is not one for shorts, though she wears black or blue jeans. Her shoes are similar to black converse, comfortable and easy to pull on.
Later, when she moves, the heat is too much for her and she is forced to switch into shorts. Her shorts are normally khaki and end about mid thigh, her shirt a black half shirt. Around her wrists, Talia wears a black and silver bracelet, a wolf charm hanging from it. Due to her new home, she tends not to wear shoes around, an anklet decorating her right ankle. The anklet was a gift from her grandparents, white and black chains twisted and intertwined with each other.
Personality: Talia is a gentle person, usually seen as a loner due to her quiet and shy nature. She is fond of animals and sometimes of people.
Her favorite hobby was planning pranks on her fellow tricksters. She began to dabble in writing a little as the year began for them to plan for the next Halloween. Now that she has moved to Destiny Islands, Talia has begun to write more as that is the only way she can express herself. She has also taken up swimming and surfing, this being something she thought she would never enjoy.
When it comes to fears, she's not very afraid of anything with the exception of rejection. Fear is an expression that is rarely ever seen on her face, making her appear weak or helpless and therefore angering her to the point of suppression.
Talia's talent lies in her fighting skills and her flute playing. She is an exceptional flute player, the melodies atune to her very emotions. Her playing has been described as a “siren’s song.” Her fighting skills are also very good because of her parents’ constant encouragement and endless training sessions.
Her weakness is her curiosity, often leading her to new places and most likely to trouble. Her strength is her belief in her views. This cannot be changed and she can be very stubborn when it comes to a rude opinion. After all, curiosity killed the cat!
Her views on life are that every day should be appreciated, every person grateful for their unique traits, and every day friends and family should be acknowledged. She believes that her friends are like her family, that one should stand up for family before strangers. Talia believes that people do change and that anger/ frustration is something that should be rejected.
When confronted, she is quiet, her reactions fast but taken slowly. When someone upsets her, her demeanor is vicious and dark. Talia’s anger is worse than anything else. Attitude is something she finds annoying, her curiosity making her wonder why anyone would be arrogant or so full of pride that they would tear someone else down. She never backs down from a fight because a challenge of strength is also a test of honor.
Original World: Halloween Town
Current World: Destiny Islands
History:Talia was born in Halloween Town under the full moon of All Hallow’s Eve. Her parents were so happy, happier than when they played pranks on children. This night, their beloved daughter had been brought into the world. It couldn’t be any better. Her mother brushed her black and orange striped hair from her eyes as she grinned down at the small child, her right hand upon her husband’s shoulder. His hand was around hers, his grin almost as big.
A knock on the door revealed Jack Skellington, soon to be a longtime friend and prankster for life. He stood by Talia, getting her out of trouble when she couldn’t win a prank war with Shock, Lock, and Barrel or perhaps when she snuck out and her prank went wrong, accidentally knocking out the mayor. She grew up with her parents training her in the forest, playing pranks with the neighborhood children, and getting ready for the Halloween night celebration.
She had an older brother, Cheshire, who had been known for his notorious trickery and his overprotective behavior when it came to his sister. After all, she was his only sibling, his parents’ pride and joy. He used to also help her train, teaching her things that her parents thought her to young to learn. And so she earned the nickname, Alice..
When he became of age, he began to travel to other worlds, find new things. But whenever he left, Talia noticed that a group of kids she never really cared for would make fun of her and laugh when she started to cry. She didn’t like this feeling of loneliness or how they hit her and pulled her hair. She had decided that when her brother returned, he would handle it. But when he did, she didn’t have the heart to tell him; she no longer cared about the cruel kids or what they did.
As Talia grew older, she became quieter, more reserved, and suppressed her emotions more. She never bothered people much and rarely hung out with anyone, even Jack Skellington. Her parents couldn’t understand. What had happened to the light in her eyes, the happiness that they had come to know? Her brother finally suggested that he take her to live with him on the Destiny Islands. Reluctantly, her parents agreed that perhaps it was best for their ball of sunshine to get away, to find some place new and exciting, to make new friends, and have adventures. The plans were set then; he would be taking her to a few of the new worlds he had found before taking her to the Destiny Islands. All of this was meant to be secret, of course, but Talia had already overheard.
She crawled out her bedroom window that night and ran, away from the family she had come to know and love, away from the brother who wanted to take her away, away from the taunting kids and the delirium of their “pranks”. Talia didn’t want to be found and if she had a say in it, she wouldn’t be. Hiding under a tree, she curled up, refusing to go back despite the breeze that blew beneath the cool night. When she heard footsteps, she stopped shivering, her mind frozen. Who was that? What if they found her?
The sight of white and crimson hair was a relief to her as her brother pulled her into him. She couldn’t hear a single word he was saying as tears streamed her face, upset gasps of air sliding from her shaky body. His hand rubbed her back as he tried to console her, planning to tell her of their soon to be vacation. His words were no surprise to her and Talia smiled as she told him of how she had overheard. He took her hand, walking her back to their home for a good night’s sleep before their early morning departure.
Role Playing Sample: Talia’s hand ran through her whitish silver bangs as she scribbled down a few words, her mind trying to figure out how she was going to turn them into a poem, a limerick at least. When she came up short, a sigh slipped from her and she dropped the notebook and pen on the floor beside her. Her forest green eyes glanced out the window; it was sunny today, something apparently common to this world.
Sliding off of the small purple bean bag pillow she had been sitting on, she stood, stretching out her muscles. A knock on the door caught her attention as she glanced over to see her older brother, Cheshire. “Hey, Tally. I was just wondering if you perhaps wanted to go surfing today. Y’know, the weather is wonderful most of the time.” He said, a smile upon his tanned face.
She shook her head as she ruffled his already unruly white crimson hair, sticking her tongue out as she walked past him. “Hey! Don’t touch the hair!” He said in distress as he tried to shake it back to its prior unruly state. “Then don’t ask stupid questions. You know I hate surfing…” Talia replied, her back to him as she walked down the hallway. “You could use the sun, little Ghostie!” Cheshire called after her before jogging to catch up with her. “Or maybe you’re just secretly a vampire and that’s why you don’t want to get caught in the sun!” He whispered next to her ear before laughing. Laughter was truly contagious as she also began to giggle. “Now, that’s just cruel.” She said as her hands wiped the tears from her eyes.
“Good. So I assume that you will be joining me, correct?” He asked as he grabbed her and gave her a noogie. “Ahhh!! Fine, I give. I give. Just stop messing up my hair!!” She squeaked as giggles escaped her. Talia had to admit that he was fun to be around, even if he was overprotective. “Let’s go!” He exclaimed as he took off down the hallway, leaving her staring after him with the utmost blank expression on her face.
The sun was brilliant, heat hitting Talia like a wave as soon as she opened the door. Her eyes were covered by white sunglasses with orange lenses, but she could still swear that the sun was melting her eyeballs like ice cream. She had changed into a black bikini decorated with fake diamonds and topaz hearts. Her “I Love Halloween” towel was wrapped around her waist as she made her way, barefoot, across the warm sandy beach. Cheshire was waving excitedly, already holding his surfboard. To Talia, he seemed almost like a child doing the potty dance.
‘Can you believe I’m related to him?’ she thought to herself before she herself grabbed a colorful surfboard. “Surf’s up!” Her brother yelled before his free hand grabbed her wrist, dragging her towards the choice surfing waves.
The sound of the splashing waves and the scent of salt hit her first, making her giggle as she shook her wet hair from her eyes. “Ches! I feel like a wet dog now!” She squealed as she tried to remain steady upon her surfboard. “I know! But isn’t the water nice and cool against your searing hot skin?” He asked, chuckling as he also shook his hair from his eyes.
