In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Upon Mount Talis, he had unleashed a defiant roar as he charged head-first into the darknes, preparing to strike its heart. He hit nothing but air as the darkness flowed about his attack and traversed down his blade, tendrils licking at his body from the dark orb that hovered over his world. Soon, they all but consumed him, and all he saw was black, all he heard was his own heart beating. He felt gravity pull at him from all angles, felt death as it passed over him, knowing it was not yet his hour. An eternity passed, yet he knew it might have been a moment in time instead, his mind still awhirl from the incident. Not long after the boy had found him, he heard a scream come from an alley nearby, turning to see three men set upon a woman. Rage and fury blurred his vision in a haze of scarlet as he advanced, his right hand upon the hilt of his blade. The red mist lifted for a moment when the men began to scream instead, and the woman ran away, her long blonde hair trailing after her as she desperately scrambled.
Drawing closer, Seiger had unsheathed his blade in time to intercept the Heartless that leapt from the three men, their bodies fading to oblivion. He swung his blade in a horizontal arc that cut down the three that had leapt at him, flourishing his blade and holding it before him at ready, only to be surprised when the rest of the heartless seemed to have faded and vanished into the ground. He sheathed his blade and frowned, worry etched on his face. The darkness was here too? Was his world alright? His head ached and he raised a hand to rub out the pain. Too many questions, things were happening too fast. Those heartless...
Shoot! he dashed off after the heartless and the blonde woman they sought...

"She should be safe for now," Seiger smiled to himself as he walked from the hotel where he had laid down the rescued lady, turning off into an alley and into the shade. Weariness and exhaustion roared, demanding his attention, and Seiger smiled in giddy acceptance, "Of course. I've saved a life, I think I deserve some rest,"
He was unconscious on the floor long before he finished his sentence.
In the dark of the night, a raven haired girl perched on the roof much like a gargoyle played with two twin marionettes. A sweet yet sadistic smile plastered her dead black lips as she manipulated their strings to make them move, making their actions seem like they were arguing, however... their mouths moved, but not due to the girl, and their voices were not put on.
They were speaking for themselves...
"Must you be so inconsiderate, my sister of dark?" the white angelic marionette spoke as the girl made her turn away, her expression alone showed disappointment.
"Awwh! Sister of light, must you always spoil my fun?" the gothic looking marionette spoke to her sister within her mind, her crimson red lips were stitched together.
"Ahem," the obsidian haired girl coughed to get their attention, she moved their heads up so that they gazed at her.
"Is something the matter, dear?" the white marionette asked gently, her eyes held compassion.
"Bored... verily... bored" the girl said slowly, almost as if struggling to speak, her mind was quite slow unfortunately. She looked down at the ground below, she blinked as her wide eyes stared intently at a shadey stranger, her head suddenly tilt to the side sharply, looking as if she had just broken it "stranger..." she murmured like an obvious child, pointing in the figure's direction.
"Yes, dear... a stranger, you must only approach them unless you're sure," the good marionette whispered like a loving mother.
The girl nodded silently as her sapphire eyes gazed at the man as he walked into an alleyway, not long before he passed out, she stared as if she expected him to wake up soon anyway, she didn't care. With a wide smile that could make almost anyone uneasy, she stood up, using her marionettes as grapples as she lowered herself before dropping to the ground, hugging the two twins close like a shy child, but she was less than.
Her feet softly padded across the concrete as she walked towards the mans body, all she did was stand there, head tilted, eyes wide with curiousity, and a rather disturbing smile.

Rain battered down upon him in sheets, heavy as metal and doubly cold. His foot slipped on a rock and he clung desperately to the face of the cliff, his fingers barely holding on.
"Lord!" he called out, his voice lost in the tempest, "Give me strength! Show me the light in this darkness!" with a final push, he hurled all his energy into his hands and threw himself into the air, reaching upwards towards the next ledge. To his amazement, he shot past the ledge and his hip struck the edge, causing him to fall on to the plateau.
Plateau?
Seiger let out a fierce laugh, his body soaking in the rain. He did it! He had scaled Mount Talis!

Darkness, though not frightening. Complete, absolute, cold...
Silent.
Seiger made to scream, but caught himself in time. He felt no fear, this was not the darkness that he had come to fear, but a familiar thing.
Silence, it was the silence he could not stand. Where was he? Unconscious, passed out in an alley. So was this a dream, or a nightmare?
Gentle music met his ears, coming from everywhere at once. Seiger cast his gaze about his surroundings, and to his surprise found that he had been soaring upwards towards a great light in the horizon...

"Let come the forces of the night!" Seiger roared in challenge as he fired off into the hoard of Heartless that came, "The light will always prevail!" His pistol clicked empty and he threw it into the air, releasing the clip as he did so and unsheathing his blade. His left hand flew to his belt and came up with another clip as he spun and cut down a nearby Heartless, it's form dissipating into nothingness.
He leapt forward and caught the magazine in his pistol, slamming it into place on the head of another Heartless and smashing it away. He reversed the grip on his blade and stabbed a Heartless behind him, the cross-guard of his blade catching the pistol and cocking the weapon. With a flourish he spun the blade back around and pointed his weapon...
At a giant orb of darkness that hovered over the world.
"Oh, crap,"

It was no wonder the darkness felt familiar. It was a shadow, cast by an enormous pillar lit by a distant light. Upon the pillar he stood now, the light blinding him, the darkness shying from him. Out into the distance, he felt a darkness approaching. It was...
"I wonder what happened..." the angelic marionette said, gazing upon the unconcious stranger.
"Who cares!? Can we play with him?" the dark marionette cackled, her body thrashing around excitedly.
The obsidian haired girl shook her head as she hugged her friends closely, staring at the man. Quite innocently, she walked over to him and gave him a sharp kick in the gut, she done this a few more times until he woke up. "Wake... up!" her child-like voice trembled as her body shook, there was no reason for her to act like this, she cared not for this man at all, it was best to say she didn't like what he was doing.
"Are you sure we can't play with him?" the gothic sadist smirked, her nails dug into the girl's flesh, unable to control her excitement.
The young woman felt nothing of this, to some it would hurt, but she had learned to deal with it. Like a stubborn child, she shook her head. "No... Dia...... cannot play.... with stranger... stranger is...bad..." her voice sounded almost as if she was in a daze, but once again she kicked the man "wake..... up! Stranger...."
The sadistic marionette, Dia, was furious to hear this. "Angel!! Did you hear what she said!? She said I can't play!! That's not fair!!" Dia was not happy.
Angel, the white marionette, sighed, becoming annoyed with her sister. "Silence! You'll hurt her!" she snapped, knowing Dia could damage the girl's thoughts.
"Nnh... stranger.... d-doesn't... like me!" the innocent voice of the raven haired girl trembled as she took a step back, her body became numb as she began shaking for no good reason, she wasn't scared, though there was no telling "he doesn't... likeh... mee..." it was sudden as her head began to hurt, the two marionette began arguing with each other, but Dia's thoughts were stronger, causing the girl's mind to beat like a rapid heart.
Just as she collapsed, the voices stopped, the twin marionettes became lifeless, without movement, without a sound...
The light began to dim away, and darkness gradually took over his vision. He looked towards the fading light and nodded his understanding. His time to join with the light would come, but for now...
The madness had drawn too close

He was standing long before he was conscious, aware of his hands on his pistols before the pain in his side. Someone had kicked him while he was down, and he was pretty sure a rib was broken. His mind started to register what he was seeing, and he realized he had been staring at a girl. The first things that caught his eye were the puppets that she held in her hands, one that radiated light and the other seemed to pull energy from all around towards it. The girl staggered and mumbled something under her breath, and Seiger took a tentative step forward. Her eyes were open, but they were unfocused, unseeing.
"Hey," he was surprised at his own voice, coming out far more hostile than he had intended, "You alright?"
"... Doesn't like... me..." she gasped before finally collapsing into Seiger, who had dashed forward to catch her. He immediately wished he had not. Her skin made contact with his, and immediately he felt the madness he had feared when he had been unconscious. This girl possessed a dark power, unimaginably powerful and unpredictable. The pistoleer grimaced and shifted her in his arms, carrying her out of the alley as he struggled with the power that emanated from this girl. He wandered around for a bit till he found a house with the windows boarded up, obviously abandoned, and kicked down the door, gingerly moving inside should there be Heartless waiting.
"I know nobody's here," he called out into the house as he kicked the door shut behind him, "But in case there is, show yourself, or I might shoot you later," he moved through the dusty house, coughing as he brought the girl into a bedroom and laid her down on the mattress. Stepping back, he looked down at the young girl, not daring to use his powers to heal her, unsure of how the magic would react to her.
"She can't be more than 16, poor kid," he muttered as he grabbed a chair and moved to sit next to the bed, his face pensive as he laid his hand on his side, taking his time to heal the broken rib. A breeze swept through the house as the crimson light from the setting sun flitted through the planks of a window.
The young woman groaned and mumbled during her unconsciousness, her mind was not completely active, yet her heart still was, this meant that only Angel was live.
Her twin sister could not do a thing, not even manipulate their master's mind. This calmed her for a while, but the fear of her waking bothered her.
Angel's eyes twitched open as she felt the girl be carried, her piercing blue gaze focussed on the stranger that held her, a small smile plastered her angelic face. "Such kindness," she whispered ever so quietly, looking over at her unconscious sister being cuddled.
She smiled warmly as the man placed her dear master down, she quietly removed herself from the girl's hold, letting her rest, smiling as she saw her snuggle into the mattress and hug Dia. "Such a good girl," she murmured, stroking her face.
Angel then turned to the man as he healed his wounds. "I'm sorry if she hurt you, she doesn't mean to be so rough, thank you for helping her, I'm grateful to you," her velvety voice uttered such kind words.
The white marionette was aware of who she was talking to, a human that would most likely freak out due to all this. But surely he would understand. "I guess this is quite a shock for you, yes I am a talking marionette," Angel was sat on the mattress, just barely being able to keep herself sitting up.
Hopefully this wouldn't freak him out too much, and hopefully her master would wake up soon.
Most people would be freaked out by a talking doll, since most never believed in magic to begin with. Moreover, most people had not dealt with the forces of light and darkness to such a degree where seeing magic does not make them jump out of their skins. Unfortunately, Seiger responded to the doll as how most people would've responded. He leapt from his chair and had his pistol trained on it long before it had finished it's sentence.
He eyed the doll warily, taking in every detail in a second. A Victorian dress, a white hat, it's eyes seemingly watery and a bright blue. Seiger stared at it harder and shook his head, for a moment, the doll's wooden surface looked like real skin, her eyes no longer inanimate but livid and liquid. Seiger grimaced, and had to remind himself it was an 'it', not a 'her'... Right?
Maybe I never woke up, Seiger thought to himself wryly as he uncocked his pistol and holstered it.
Angel's head merely tilt to the side, the man's actions did not scare her at all, she had learnt to deal with it and accept it, she simply smiled. "My name? Angelus Conscientia, but you may call me Angel, pleasure to meet you," she spoke ever so gently, like a mother to a child.
The pure marionette gazed at him, taking in all his appearance. He didn't look all that old, possibly in his late teens, quite a handsome young man, his hair somewhat reminded her of her manipulator's.
"And who might yo-?" Angel was cut off however as her master began to stir, she turned her head to look behind her, seeing that both her and Dia were about to wake. She feared this...
Angel knew how much her twin liked to play with her mind, of course, Dia still cared about their dear manipulator, but that was all part of her role as the girl's mind. "It seems they're awakening..."
The raven haired mistaken one gasped as she finally let her eyelids shoot open, she felt something thrashing around in her arms, she looked down to see Dia in a somewhat panic state after finally gaining consciousness. "Nyeeh... Di... a..." she murmured unsurely as she held her close before putting her down, watching as she joined her sister. Her sapphire eyes then gazed upon the young man, a wide yet childish smile appeared. "Stranger!" she giggled disturbingly yet somewhat innocently as she clapped her hands excitedly.
Angel looked back at her and smiled, "Such a good girl..." she murmured before turning to her sister "Dia, are you alright?"
Dia immediately snapped her head in her sister's direction, her eyes held the most sadistic of looks as she smirked. "Dia is feeling much better now, sister of mine," the marionette's deathly black lips did not move, all because of the stitches forcing them shut, but Dia made sure to send her thoughts to the three there.
Angel nodded before turning to the man again, "This is my sister, Diabolus Conscientia, do not mind her... she can be a bit, well... sadistic, she's my twin, and she cannot speak due to... the stitches..." the difference between the two was easily noticed.
Dia was sadistic, cruel, and rather insane.
Angel was kind, motherly, and caring.
The young woman giggled as she watched the two before crawling over to the young man on her hands and knees, she pointed up at him as she stared at him like a curious puppy. "Stranger!" she stated the obvious before hugging his leg, snuggling it with her cheek "stranger likesa meeh!"
She was so happy at that moment, so happy that the reason for her happiness seemed unknown, non-existent even.
Angel just smiled and nodded, "Yes, a stranger, dear," she said ever so softly to the child-like young woman, "why don't you ask his name? I'm sure he will like that."
Her eyes widened at Angel's suggestion, her gripped on the young man's leg tightened due to all the excitement, so much that her nails dug into him. "N... ame!? What's is... stranger is's nhaaamee?" she smiled widely, pulling away from his leg and continued to gaze up at him with wide puppy-like eyes, such curiosity.
Seiger's crazy-detector went into over-drive as he stared at the display before him, madness manifest. The speaking dolls he could get over, having been exposed to it in excess once before, but he shuddered at the two dolls that dressed in opposing garments that clung to the hands of this girl. If what the white doll said was true, then they were the equivalent of the "Angel and Devil" metaphor for the subconscious human mind.
And that was him being optimistic.
The girl herself was a total nut-job, and he half-expected her to start drooling and babbling incoherently in front of him. What she did instead was do an imitation of a puppy and snuggle against his leg, to which he did not respond to as his mind struggled with the various possibilities to deal with this mad woman. A pitiful few of these had a good ending. Her nails dug into his leg, and he winced at the pain, snapping him out of his reverie.
"Name? My name's Seiger," he forced out a placating smile and shifted his recently grabbed leg away from the girl. It throbbed with pain! "So you are Angel, and she's Diabolus... Mind if I call you Dia?" he addressed the respective dolls.
Finally, he turned his attention to the little girl who continued to gaze at him with unseeing eyes, and he suppressed a shudder as he stared into the madness. Pity welled in his heart, and he drew from the emotion, allowing it to come out in his voice as sympathy. "And yours?" His voice came out much softer this time, gentler.
"This is definitely trouble for me..." he thought to himself grimly.
The obsidian haired girl blinked as she looked over at Dia and Angel, smiiling as she crawled to them and pick up Dia, hugging her again. No one, only Angel, knew why she preferred to give more affection to the sadistic than the pure one, some would think that she liked the gothic one more, that she preferred insanity over compassion and understanding, this wasn't the case.
Dia was too sadistic, that was the problem, she needed to be shown more love and affection to lighten her dark thoughts, the girl knew a lot about emotion, she knew what made a person sad, what made them angry, even happy. Being a manipulator, she took her role quite well.
"Dia is fine, that's what she and my dear sister mostly call I,"
her thoughts murmured in monotone to Seiger "I wouldn't be so polite though..." a smirk appeared as her nails dug into her manipulator, there were various other scars on the girl's arm, but in different places, most of the girl's scars were caused by Dia anyway. Angel turned her attention to Dia, giving her a stern look as she could see the girl was in pain, but was kind enough to let Dia proceed without complaint. "Dia! Stop that, you're hurting her! Look at what you're doing to her," she snapped, she knew the girl was in pain due to her arm shaking violently. Dia really was no help to this girl's mental state, but she was required.
"Ugh! You're no fun,"
she hissed before letting go of her manipulator.
The unkempt haired girl groaned as Dia finally let go, she didn't want to be rude and admit she was getting hurt, it'd hurt Dia's feeling, but Angel knew in the girl's heart that she was hurt, so she spoke for her, saving her the trouble of getting hurt even worst. She then stood up, she was quite tall for a girl, but it was average height. With a playful chuckle, she walked towards Seiger, holding her friends in her arms.
"See... geer?" she attempted to pronounce his name, pulling a funny face with each one "say... gah? Seh... gar?" she began to giggle, finding the pronunciations funny. She then smiled up at him again "You haza funnyy nhaame," she spoke innocently, however, her thick dark lashes fluttered as she blinked, his voice sounded different, the girl inspected both sides of his face as if expecting to find the answer printed on his face. She then pulled away when he asked for her name, her smile widened.
"Mine nhame be Heart!" a look of surprise appeared on her face as she tested out the tones of her voice "Heart... Heart... Heaaaart... Heart!" she smiled, though saying her name in dark and light tones would appear quite odd to anyone, but at least it was something fun to do for a while.
Angel was observant during this, it seemed so very true that the young woman was childish, as she could see, Heart was much like a child, already she was getting attached to this stranger, void of the dangers around her...
"Nehehe! Heart De Larmes Marionette!" she smiled widely, musing at her own name, she thought for a while before giggling "thast's a funnyy nha-oh! Head thingiest!" her attention was immediately turned to Seiger cowboy hat before she even bothered finishing what she was going to say. It was then she nabbed it and put it on her head.
Heart then shaped her hand into a gun and pointed it at him. "Bang!" she boomed playfully before running around, expecting him to chase her. Just like a game.
OOC: Nothing personal, my character is extremely flawed and biased =) Your character, however, makes me laugh and frown at the same time. You're an excellent writer =)
BIC: Seiger felt a genuine smile play on his lips, the girl's innocent nature striking a chord in his heart. She reminded him of Ley, the little girl from their band of caravans who had proudly claimed him as her brother. After several scuffles and arguments, they reached an agreement that the girl who was three years younger than him was his elder sister, and that he would do well do respect her. He humored her in much the same way he humored little Heart now. He protected her.
He drew his pistol and fired off a round, the bullet piercing through the Heartless that had leapt from behind Heart. The sound echoed through the room like thunder, and his ears went numb from the sound, his mind still in shock from his exhaustion. Even now that quick-draw had cost him, and he was shown the full extent of his weariness as his vision swam before him and he fell to one knee.
He glanced up and looked towards little Heart, looking into her eyes with a newfound emotion. Damn it, he thought, I can't afford to tie myself down now...
Ley...
In the end, he gave a grimace, knowing his own heart had made the choice for him. He would protect this girl now, as his own, no matter what.
"Just can't lay off a damsel in distress..." he muttered under his breath. Aloud, with as much control as he could muster to stop the shaking in his voice, he said, "Heart, Angel, Dia... Know anywhere safe we can go?"
{It's alright... I justs hates it when peoplez say someone's a nutjob or insane just 'cause they think differently .__. I don'ts seez it as a mental illness, I try not to. And thank chu <3}
Heart proceeded to run around using her hand as a gun. "Pew! Pew!" she giggled, smiling widely. She then went to turn to face Seiger, but her wide strange eyes stared as he took out his gun and shot at her, Dia and Angel would've sprung into action, but they knew what he was truly shooting at, and soon, Heart did also.
All she saw was the black smokey cloud fade, which made it obvious that a Heartless had just tried to hurt her. But, Heart didn't know what to think, with a soft whimper, she dropped to her knees and hugged her arms, Angel and Dia weren't far away, so she picked them up and hugged them close. Both could sense her fear, and both used it to their advantage.
"Don't be afraid, dear," she murmured softly, her gaze focussed on the somewhat traumatised girl "he was only trying to protect you, not hurt yo-"
"Oh really!?" Dia's thoughts interupted Angel's own words "what if he did mean to shoot her and not that Heartless?"
"Honestly Dia?" Angel sighed, shaking her small head at Dia's attempt to manipulate Heart, she looked back at the pale girl as she thought quietly "darling do not fear, he has a kind heart, I know he is a stranger, but it seems he does want to help you, just like I and... uhm, Dia do... heh"
Heart looked down at Angel and nodded whilst snuggling into Dia, despite ignoring her attempt to make her do bad things. She made a weird yet soft whimpering sound as she looked over at Seiger, he looked tired. She suddenly put Angel and Dia on her shoulders before crawling over to Seiger in an odd jerking-like manner, once she was near, she placed herself on his knee, not thinking of the awkwardness it would cause. "Seygah lewks tired," she giggled, clapping as if she had made some great discovery "Saygah will comes with Heart nows!"
She jumped up off his knee and grabbed his arm, her nails digging into his skin as she dragged him, she knew it cause him pain, yet she didn't understand why she did this, she didn't want to hurt him, she wasn't a bad girl. With a thoughtful pout on her pale features, Heart just shook her head frantically as she ran out and dragged him with her.
"Heart haz fun shop somewhere! Tis alsos Heart's hooomee!" she spoke with her tongue sticking out oddly for some reason as she slowed down and walked, one of her eyes widened more than the other as she looked down at his hand. "Mine!" she chirped loudly, flailing her arms as she nibbled on his thumb before chewing on his sleeve, using it to pull him into her home and store.
It was a dull colour on the outside, somewhat shaped as a haunted house, there was no sign outside, but through the curtains, within the dark store, there were small shadows, probably no one knew what they were and were too scared to go in. But just like Heart, the inside was much different than the outside... well, slightly.
Once she flicked the light switch on, all that was on display were toys on the right side, placed in shelves and such, whilst on the right was a clothesline where many costumes and outfits hung, to anyone this would appear much like a children's room. The toys consisted of porcelain dolls, rather gothic looking, followed by jack-in-the-boxes, marionettes, rag dolls, and more. As for the clothes, they were finely made, each stitch as great as they first, they weren't ridiculous attires, though it didn't seem like many would wear them daily, not like Heart did.
She soon locked the door behind her and shoved Seiger more into the room, though made sure he didn't trip over the train on the floor that circled on its tracks. "This ish whheere Heart lives, there's some steppy thingies behind the munnymachine that's on that table thingie, it goes up to Heart's room and kitchen... and teh place where ya poop and clean," she giggled, seeing no harm in what she was saying, she then turned to the toys and clothes.
"Ohs! Heart mades all these toos, all by self! Me even mades Dia's and Angel's clothes," she smiled widely, like a proud child "even mine clothes! Come stay with Heeart!"
Immediately, she clinged to his back, snuggling her cheek against it "Miiiinee...!" she chirped contently, nuzzling.
Seiger nodded, his face set and expressionless as he struggled with several things at once. First, he had not fully recovered from the destruction of his land, nor the journey that had brought him to this strange land. Next, he was further exhausted by his battle against the Heartless that attacked the poor woman, weakened even more so by his healing of himself and the woman. Then, this girl who caused painful memories of his past to arise drags him to a house that made his head spin with colours, her nails drawing blood from his skin as they dug ever deeper as she dragged him along.
He took two steps forward into the shop before Heart leapt on his back, proudly claiming him as her own. The weight of the various burdens made his head feel like splitting at the seams, and he knew he had to find a bed to lie down, sleep it off, think things through...
"Heart, where's the bed? I'm pretty tired," his voice came out in gasps as his body started to tremble, the reaction to the various incidents finally catching up to him.
Hold just a bit more, damn it! Light...
Seiger felt his knees turn liquid, "Heart, get off my back..." But all he got out was the first word, then the floor rushed up to meet him. And darkness came once more.
