In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Gerard bit into his banana nut muffin and took a quick sip of his rum and coke enjoying it's sweetness. Ah, He wished he could remain in this state forever. The drink had been made differently in that he asked them to use vanilla coke and the sweetest rum they had. He had a sweet tooth that needed to be satisfied when he was on a mild vacation. Leaving his munny on the table he finished his drink and took the muffin with him.
Walking out into open he bit into his muffin again savoring it. His vacation here was going to last for several more days. He was wearing a blue long-sleeve button up and black dress pants with dress shoes as opposed to his normal jeans and sandals as he felt like dressing up a bit today. He had yet to encounter a problem in Traverse Town while he'd been here and he'd been quite happy. He took yet another bite from his muffin and he smiled widely. He remembered the last time here vaguely, he almost accepted a job but there was no definite payoff at the end so he had to decline.
He tried to remember the names of the people. There was the bunny maid who liked to inflict marshmallow hell. The witch's name was on the tip of his tounge, Jadis. The last one he could only remember slightly. "It was An-... something. Anna, no, Andrea, no... was it Antique?" Gerard said this quietly and took another bite of his muffin as he walked on.
"It was An-... something. Anna, no, Andrea, no... was it Antique?"
"That's my name," the young girl said from behind him. Antique didn't honestly mean to sneak up on him--she had just been passing by when she heard her name. It wasn't a very common name, especially in this world, so she could have been the only one he was talking about.
She put her hands on her hips, looking as if she were displeased--though she couldn't keep up that facade for too long. Soon her face melted into a smile.
Antique had definately grown in height the last time she had seen...this person. "Jerry?" she said, touching her chin as if she were trying to remember "Germy?" Of course it was all a facade, she knew his name. "Oh, I remember now!" she said as she snapped her fingers. "Jessica, right?"
Her face told him that she was definately just playing with him.

"That's my name."
Gerard jumped slightly as someone spoke up behind him. Turning around he let a smile play on his lips, it was her alright. That blue with the streak of pink was the key identifier for him. "It's been some time, Antique." She had adopted a stance as if she was irritated but once he saw the smile he chuckled slightly.
What came next was her going through a list of names like he was. The difference was she ended with...Jessica. He could tell she was joking from her expression but he still had a slight eye twitch. "No... address me as that and I'll have to start calling you Andrew." Gerard chuckled slightly to signify that he was only joking. Almost forgetting he bit into his muffin again. It was almost gone but he could always go back for another.
"Andrew?" Antique trembled, "What an interesting name..." she said, though her nose crinkled at the prospect at being called something like that. "No, I'd rather not be called that, Jeremy," she said, diliberately messing up his name, yet again.
She seemed utterfly playful today, having only recently gotten her strength back. Trotting to meet him, she smiled. "It has been a long time," she said, grinning. Though to her, it had seemed shorter only because for a good deal of that time she had fallen into a magical sleep--she didn't mention that though.
Traverse Town hadn't really changed much...though she noticed that a few of her friends that had stuck around seemed to have grown more. It was so weird, feeling like the only one who hadn't changed. Her hair had grown, yes--so much that the roots of her origional hair color (embarassing as it was) had grown in--which was effectively covered by a floppy hat.

Jeremy... the very name sent chills down his spine. Gerard had a quick shiver at the thought of being called such a horrendous name. Jeremiah may work but the sound of Jeremy made him want to gag. "It has been some time, though I haven't been to Traverse for a long while either. Quite nice to meet one of the people I spoke to, albeit shortly, once more."
How was he... he didn't have much of an answer to that. "Let's see, I have yet to find someone willing to hire me, I have been in a battle royale between 3 people, one of them capable of summoning heartless. Uhhh, I've been carving through what munny I have left, I've been bored senseless. All in all I'm on an undeserved vacation enjoying the food and a new favorite drink of mine. In sweetness this place has the best but not in overall quality." Gerard knew his answer was much longer than necessary, the question was of course, "How are you?", not, "How have you been?". But he had already said it so it didn't matter.
"Quite enough about what's happened with me. How have you been Antique, has Jadis been treating you with kindness like I would hope?"
Antique listened to Gerard explain what he had been up to for the last few months or so. It certainly sounded interesting! Someone being able to summon Heartless...that was a bit scary. If not incredible in the very least. She pondered for a moment if that person he was talking about could summon any Heartless. Or if it was just a single kind. When Antique had gotten her strength back, she had wandered Traverse Town a little bit...none of the old gang were around, not really.
It was almost a little bit lonely around here. So a familiar face was always very welcome.
She perked right up at the mention of the sweets, "I wouldn't know where else you could get such nice treats--in my old world, things like flour and sugar were very very rare to come across....so things like this are very precious," she smiled.
Then he turned the conversation on her, "It's...ah...been...interesting here...And of course Lady Jadis has been very kind to me!"
Naturally. The first part was a half truth. In honesty she had been in a magical sleep. It was as if months had vanished in seconds. The thought sobered her. It was rather easy to read her facial expressions.

Gerard listened slightly as he waited for his chance to talk. He was fine on sweets for now though, his muffin was the only thing he wanted as of now. He took a final bite over it as he did a quick lick of his thumb, pointer, and middle finger and shook his hand to the side slightly. Hearing her stumble over her words brought a teasing smile to Gerard's lips and adopt a different expression.
"Something you wish to talk about that's making you so nervous?" Elongating the sound on the soft R, Gerard spoke in a joking, almost sarcastic manner. In truth he didn't care whether or not she had something to hide. Gerard resumed his normal fox like smile.
(Short but muse is taking a brief vacation itself.)
"Something you wish to talk about that's making you so nervous?"
Antique put her hands on her hips. Was she that easy to read? She didn't like to think that she was! Her cheeks puffed up as if she were irritated, though it was mainly to be playful. It was nice to banter around with someone. Even though she barely knew him.
"Absolutely not!" she squeeked, turning her head away as if she were snobbing the idea. It was short lived though, followed by a gentle smile. It was hard for her to act against her real nature. "Seriously though, nothing..." she laughed, as she trotted away.
Wrapping a hand around a light post, and lifting herself on the first bump. "Tell me, do you like this town?" she asked quietly.

Gerard chuckled at her little antic and was actually enjoying himself. Dusting a bit of fuzz off his shirt he looked back to her, now on a light post. "Tell me, do you like this town?" At that question Gerard started chewing his lip just a bit thinking over his answer. Did he really like this place, he had thought about settling here instead of the Garden but chose against it, why did he choose the Garden over the Town?
"I can't really say yes or no to that question. This place has some of what I'd want at the Garden, but not enough. The choices in shops are limited, places to eat are good but like the shops the places are limited. I couldn't find very many clothes I'd like to wear, heck I still haven't bought any. What I'm wearing is stuff I bought at the Garden. Then there's the problem of... them. So Antique, I'd have to say I don't like this place in comparing it to the Garden. Hell the only reason I came here was to get a change of scenery." Gerard was looking at the ground at the end and still chewing his lip causing some of the skin was to tear off around it but he didn't even notice.
Gerard quit chewing his lip for a second as he looked back to Antique. "But what the Garden doesn't have is you and that's what I do like about this place. We're practically strangers but I feel that we may have a long friendship ahead of us." Gerard smiled at her but started to feel a trickle of something coming from his lip. Licking it quickly he identified the coppery taste in an instant, blood.
"Damnit..." Gerard muttered the swear as he silently cursed his teeth. Sharper than an average humans due to his hated heritage. Gerard kept licking it whenever there was a bit of a build up waiting for the blood to stop.
Antique listened to Gerard talk as she balanced her footing on the bottom rung of the lightpost as she looked at him. It was hard for her to imagine there being a better place than Traverse Town. The people that she dearly cared for were here...or were here at some point. The world that she had been to last was nowhere near as "comforting" as this one was--even though there were few things here, according to Gerard. Sweets were hard to come by in Eucharistia, just as hard as it was to come across the warmth of friendship.
She knew that this world had softened her immensely. There were more than a couple viewpoints, and she was able to question things. The paths weren't set in front of her, like her fate was when she was chained to Eucharistia...unfortunately.
Antique smiled softly at Gerard. "I love this town," she whispered, and jumped lightly to the ground. Closing her eyes, she pressed one hand against her heart, and lifted one up to the air, palm up, gently.
"Shall I take you..."
A flurry of snowflakes materialized from nowhere, throwing the light like stars around here.
"...To the place in this town where miracles happen?"

Watching the snowflakes fly and fall he touched one and felt the ice melt and have the water drip down his finger. "To a place where miracles happen..." Gerard wondered if such a place could exist or if she was howling hyperbole. He expected the latter but wished it was the former. After all, miracles don't happen every day do they?
"That sounds... wonderful? No, fascinating? That doesn't work either." Gerard thought of a word to describe it before snapping his fingers. "Enchanting." Gerard gave his fox like smile and bowed slightly. "Lead the way would you Antique dear?" Gerard was in an amusing way today, he wasn't exactly sure why though. Oh well he was enjoying himself, and that was the point of a vacation right?
Antique let het hands drop down to her sides. The snowflakes disappeared just as quickly as they had appeared. A look of meloncholy melted across her features. Smiling down at Gerard, she shook her head from left and right.
"Those were lines from a story...that I heard a long time ago," she smiled, and started walking in a different direction.
"But there's this place that cakes certainly taste like miracles," she smiled, over her shoulder.
((Yup, totally forgot what I was going to do with that.))

Gerard was slightly disappointed at hearing that such a place was only from a story, a miracle might be nice after all. Doing a mental headshake he called himself an idiot. Miracles don't exist, the only way things happen is if you work to make it happen. He didn't know why he had been dragged along by such an idealistic idea. He kept his smile up though, even if one is a cynic doesn't mean you couldn't enjoy life as it should be.
Cake...Gerard pondered the idea, he figured he could always skip dinner to have another sweet so long as he didn't over indulge. "Alright, I'm up for it." The prospect sounded nice and he started walking with her. He would be leaving this place in a day or two so it was important to enjoy himself while he could.
Antique thought quietly about the prospect of miracles. More importantly, where she had heard the story from. The idea of cake had sounded good at the time though--especially because her energy reservoirs had been depleted so easily as of lately.
"I heard a story like that once though, you know...so maybe there is some truth to it," she said, looking behind her at Gerard. "Though if you really think about it, the existance of this town is kind of miraculous, isn't it?" she said. "I know this isn't...well...your town...but..."
She covered one of her eyes, thinking about Eucharistia. She didn't think she'd ever try to return if she had the choice. "This place...I don't think I've ever been quite as happy as I have been any other place," she said, started laughing, and shook her head from left to right. "But that's not interesting at all, is it? You should try the Strawberry Shortcake here--! It's amazing. I'll treat if you split it with me!"

The existence of this town...miraculous? He wasn't quite sure what she meant by that. Just what made this place so special? "Excuse me Antique but how exactly is this place miraculous in it's existence. It seems like just another world to me..."** Gerard was quite confused but perhaps she was just being hyperbolical.
"This place...I don't think I've ever been quite as happy as I have been any other place,"
"I take it you haven't been to many other worlds then have you?" Gerard saw this place as lackluster due to the places he had been so they were pretty much opposites if she hadn't been to many places. After all if there are only 2 or 3 options and all but one are bad then you'd obviously think the 1 is great.
Gerard heard the offer and almost felt bad for his answer. "Alright then, I'll take you up on that." The only reason he felt bad for it was that he had quite a bit of munny still and could easily pay. Though he didn't want to be disrespectful by denying her courtesy.
**(Just a reminder, Gerard doesn't know that this place is where people end up when their worlds are taken by darkness. He doesn't even know a world can be taken by darkness.)
