A Wonderful Evening (V, FINISHED)

V's legs started to turn numb, as she hung around the tree. 'Oh come on...' she whined in her head, moving them slowly so to try and get the feeling back into them. This was always her flaw. No matter where V was, she always had to constantly keep moving. She could never sit still for more than five minutes, and if had to dreaded the fact she couldn't run, or use her legs at all. That's why when in her gummi ship, she sets the wheel on auto-pilot so that she can move around from time to time.

But back to the game, as her legs felt a little better she could hear her love yell out something. "Marco!" he had shouted, at once her mouth opened, but before she could stop herself, she let out a meek cry. "Polo...."

Instantly she clasped one hand over her mouth, what was she thinking? Now her hideout would be ruined. She sighed, flicking herself on the forehead. 'Oh me and my big mouth.' she thought, chuckeling mentally.

She held her breathe, and keeping quiet wondered if Shiro had heard her, and would be coming her way.

Just as he planned, he heard "Polo" as a response. He knew she couldn't resist... Chuckling at his success, he turned his head towards the response. A smile appeared on the man's face as he saw V's legs slowly moving. She was up in a palm tree. He probably wouldn't have seen her if she didn't answer, because he probably wouldn't have taken in all the details in each and every area. If he did that, V could be back at Traverse Town before he would finish. But now since he knew the direction, he was able to spot V's legs.

And now to surprise her... Shiro jumped off the bridge silently and started walking quickly, but carefully, towards the tree. When his feet met the wet sand, he took off his shoes so they wouldn't get wet. Tossing them closer to the center of the island, he walked into the water. He walked right next to the mini island, making sure the tides, no matter how strong they were, would take him away. When he was exactly behind the island, he altered his gravity so he could float up. When in the air and above the mini island, he chuckled at V who was up in one of the palm trees. "Well aren't you cute as ever," Shiro commented. And with a relaxed smile, he floated closer towards her and said, "Found ya, love."

And with that, he dropped down to the ground. Looking up at the beautiful girl of his, he waited to see what she would do.

V calmed her nerves, as she kept taking in deep breathes. Now that she basically gave away her hiding spot, the girl was starting to get anxious. But it was ok, after going through in her head what might happen, she was ready for anything!

"Well aren't you cute as ever." said a voice from above.

She looked up, to see her loves face smiling down at her. "found ya love." he said. Surprised, V literally jumped, letting go of her grasp on the tree. Ok, so maybe she wasn't expecting that. Now falling, V looked down at the ground for a split secound.

'Oh this isn't good.' she thought, thinking about any pain she might feel after this, good thing it was sand though, so when she hit the ground it broke her fall, however that didn't mean hFer back didn't ache just a little.

"Ow..." she whimpered, sitting up, she looked up to see her love staring at her. "That was mean!" she pouted with a laugh. She punched his leg playfully, then throwing herself down on the soft sand, she smiled.

"You got me." she chimed, letting out another laugh. And at that moment, V had a feeling this was gonna be the best day ever.

(Dang it! Her one weakness, Marco polo! Lol! XD)

Her reaction... He didn't expect that. Shiro didn't mean to make her jump. Thank god there was sand, otherwise he would've probably punch himself in the face. Because damn, he would've felt that guilty. His eyes widened as V punched him in the leg. Even though it was playfully, he was still worried that she was mad at him. Though, after hearing her laugh that he loved so much, he guessed that all was forgiven.

Bending down, he offered his hand to her. "I'm sorry, love," he said as he pulled her up. (I'm assuming that she takes it, if she doesn't, I'll edit) When she was on her feet, he smiled at her. He just couldn't help it. The sly Shiro pulled her towards her and kissed her passionately. He pulled away after a second or two and said, "Did that kiss make you feel better?" he asked playfully. He remembered seeing parents kiss their injured kids' injuries when he wondered the streets of Traverse Town. So why not make an excuse using that?

Anyways, Shiro changed the subject by walking over to the odd tree that was crooked. Placing his hand on the tree, he walked over to the end of it. "Odd tree, isn't it?" he said as he stopped walking. At the end of the tree, he noticed fruit growing out of the tree near the greens. Huh? Shiro reached for one of them, pulling out a star shaped fruit. Wasn't it the same one he had seen in the drawing? The paopu fruit? Shiro looked up at the sky, realizing that the sun was setting. It was truly amazing. "Hey, V, look at all the colors." he said, his eyes staring at the sun. "That isn't something we see everyday, is it?" Well, at least not as wonderful as this. He couldn't remember the last time where he could actually enjoy a sunset without any stress on the brain.

V grabbed her loves hand, as he helped pull her off the ground. She was about to start a conversation, once she got on her feet, until Shiro suddenly pulled her towards him, and gave her a passionate kiss. Surprised, V's eyes widened again, another thing she hadn't expected.

He then pulled away secound or two, "Did that kiss make you feel better?" he asked. V was silent at first, she could feel her face overheated, her heart beating a little faster. She smiled, then calming down nodded her head slightly. "y-yes..." she said in a small voice.

She then looked away, so that Shiro wouldn't see how beat red her face was. Luckily he changed the subject, "Odd tree isn't it?" he said.

V looked around to see him on the crooked tree, "yeah..." she replied, walking towards the tree, she sat ontop of the end of it, then smiling she added. "But it's also kinda cool as well."

Her smile widened, then closing her eyes she took in the worlds atmosphere, its soft breeze blowing against her face. For a moment her mind felt completely at ease. Suddenly, she heard her loves sweet voice again.

"Hey, V, look at the colors." he said. Instantly she opened her eyes, once she did, the first thing she saw was the sunset. She opened her mouth in awe, 'wow...' she thought.

"That isn't something we see everyday, is it?" Shiro said, V nodded. "Its amazing!" she exclaimed, her eyes lit up in excitement. She turned to look at her loves face, "This place is so...beautiful, dontcha think?" she asked, looking back at the wonderous sight that laid in front of them.

Walking over to the left side of V, he sat on the tree as well. Looking at the sunset, he replied, "Yeah." And with that, he went silent. He continued to watch the beautiful colors that appeared before his eyes. He guessed that never again, he would sit on the same tree and enjoy the afternoon with the love of his life. Or maybe he would? He hoped so, but it probably wouldn't happen. Destiny Islands was probably the only world they would come across that was completely peaceful. It was sad to think that though, that they'd probably never see one again. Eh, who knew? Maybe they would come back. Oh well, he decided not to think about it. He decided to enjoy it until it would end.

Turning his head towards his love, who had asked him a question. "It is, but not as beautiful as you," he complimented her. Shiro couldn't help himself with the occasional flirt. They were a couple after all. Though he hoped he wasn't a bother or an annoyance when he did.

His eyes then finally rested on the paopu fruit that was in his left hand. Showing it to V, he told her about the legend, "This is a paopu fruit. The island residents, they believe in a legend, where if two people shared one, their destines become intertwined. They'll remain a part of each others lives no matter what..." And with that, his voice went silent, hoping to hear what V thought about the legend. He didn't know what to think about it. Was it a just a silly rumor that kids used to dare each other? Or was it actually something that was taken serious? He didn't know. He wanted to hear what V thought about it.

V blushed as Shiro complimented her, she smiled softly, and punching him yet again playfully said. "Oh...Your just trying to make me red now."

She let out a small laugh, then noticing an object in her love's left hand, turned to look at it. It was bright yellow, and it looked to be in the shape of a star? 'I wonder what it is...' she thought to herself.

As if he had read her mind, Shiro then started to explain. "This is a paopu fruit. The island residents, they believe in a legend, where if two people shared one, their destines become intertwined. They'll remain a part of each others lives no matter what..."

Upon listening to the fruits legend, V's eyes lit up in awe, "How beautiful..." She whispered softly, "to think a fruit could hold such power..."

She stared at the paopu for some time, then getting an idea she looked up at Shiro. "Hey!" she shouted, taking a hold of her loves wrist. "Why dont we try it?"

Her eye's grew soft, "Id be willing to do any legend...as long as it meant spending the rest of my life with you."

She was about to add something else, but then realizing the foolishness in her words looked away embarassed. "I mean...sorry that sounded really silly....we dont have to try the paopu if you dont want to."

Again, V could feel her heart start to race, oh why did she have to be so self-concious all of a sudden!? She sat quietly, waiting for her love to say something, while she thought to herself, "Im such an idiot..."

Your Love is A Song

Shiro smiled at her "power" comment. Good, he wanted this reaction from her... Because, well, he kind of was interested in sharing it with her? But no, he couldn't just ask. V was one of the people he knew that would never try to disappoint him. So he didn't want her to say "yes" just because of that reason. He wanted her to want to.

And as he finished the thought, his wish came true. V asked to try it. "I'd be willing to do any legend...as long as it meant spending the rest of my life with you." she told him. That made Shiro's day, but it also made him blush. Seeing the embarrassed look on his love's face, he listened to her try to back out of it.

He chuckled at V's words. "No, its alright, love. I want to share the fruit with you too. I want to see your beautiful eyes for as long as I live..." he said as he looked into her lovely eyes. Shiro lightly kissed her on the lips when he finished speaking, and then he scanned the little island they were on for something to split it with. His eyes spotted a broken piece of wood somewhat buried beneath the sand. Jumping off the tree, he quickly picked up the piece of wood out of the sand. He would've used something sharp within his backpack if he hadn't left it somewhere in the island. He didn't think he would need it. There was no heartless after all. He examined the piece of wood, and he came to a conclusion that it was sharp enough to cut a piece of fruit. Blowing the sand off the stick, he split the fruit right in half.

Shiro dropped the wood and walked back over to the crooked tree. He sat back on it, getting into the same position he was, though he sat slightly closer to V. Handing her one half, he looked down at his. The man looked into his love's eyes once again and said to her, "I love you, V."

V blushed slightly, a light shade of pink appearing across her face. But she soon got a hold of herself and smiled, it was kinda funny how such simple words could make her feel special, but she didnt care because it was her love that said these words and that was all that mattered to her. She leaned in towards Shiro, and closing her eye kissed him lightly on the lips. Then breaking away her eye lid lifted up, and saying in a soft, gentle voice said, "I love you too."

The girl then laughed, giving her love a cheesy grin. "Now then! lets try this thing!" she said excitedly.

She looked at half of the fruit that was in her hands, its juice slowly sliding down her hand. 'hmmm...' she thought curiously, 'I wonder what it taste like...' She brought the fruit up to her mouth, "Well only one way to find out." She muttured to herself. And opening her mouth, took a bit out of the paopu.

V's eye then suddenly lit up, "Wow!" she shouted, as if she had just seen a metorite or something spectacular. "Its so sweet!"

She looked up at Shiro, "Try it! its really good!" she exclaimed, and like a candy-craved child hungrily took another bite out of the fruit.

Suddenly, the girl then started to feel a wierd vibe. 'Huh?' she thought confused. She looked what was left of the paopu in her hands, 'What is this...feeling?' she asked herself in her head. It was like, something was starting to form...a bond perhaps?

V lifted her head up to look at Shiro, and looking at him with a confused look waited for him to say something. Hoping that what she was feeling, he also was as well.

As she kissed him, his eyes closed as well. And when she broke away, his eyes opened to see the beautiful face he would see for the rest of his life. Oh he couldn’t wait to get into that fruit. Spending the rest of his life with her would be just like living in second heaven. He wanted to wake up every morning to see that lovely face of hers.

Nodding at V’s excited words, he looked back at his half. Normally, Shiro wasn’t a fast eater, but when it came down to spending the rest of his life with the only woman he cared about, eating slowly would never come to mind. Because of that, the man took a huge bit out of that star-shaped fruit. Chewing slowly for the first bite, he memorized the flavor of the fruit that intertwined their destinies. Swallowing it, he looked back over at his love with a smile on his face.
"It’s so sweet!"

”Just like you,” he snuck in. And when she went back for more, he went as well. Taking another bite, he felt an odd feeling inside his head. It was a very confusing feeling, because he didn’t recognize it. He turned his head over to his love, and she was looking at him with a confused look. Huh? She must’ve felt it too. It was the fruit he guessed. Maybe the fruit was powerful enough to do what the legend said. He sure hoped it did.

With his half in his left hand, he wrapped his right hand around her like a guy would do on a date with a girl at a movie theater. He was going to try something. ”You feel it too?” he asked as he looked at the sand. Resting his half on the tree, his left hand quickly went to work. As he talked, he thought about a whole lot of math, changing the sands’ gravity.

”You know what I think it is? I think it’s our destinies being sowed together, so no matter what we do, we’ll always be with each other. ” And when he finished speaking, his mind finally rested. And then before them, on the ground, it looked like a person used a stick to draw a giant heart. But no, Shiro changed the specs of sands’ gravity, so that it would go a little bit deeper and continued to do it until he formed a shape. A heart.

V smiled softly, as she looked at the heart her love made. "You know..." she said, grabbing his hand, and looking up at him. "I think your right..."

She then jumped from the tree, next to the heart, and picking up a small stick that laid around started to make something inside the heart, she made sure her back was towards Shiro so that he couldn't see what she was doing. Then, as she finished, she laughed like a small child, her smile widening slightly. She turned around, to face her love, then walking to the side showed what she had done.

Inside the heart, was deeply engraved 'Shiro and V....Forever.' V blushed slightly, "No matter what happens...I'll always be here." she said walking towards Shiro, she then took his hand once again, and intwining her pinky with his looked up at him adding. "I promise."

Shiro watched as V jumped from the tree and picked up a small stick. What was she doing? The man tried to sneak a peak on what she was doing, but her back was towards him so he couldn't see. She did that on purpose. He tried to look over his love's shoulder, but before he could see, he stopped trying. It was a surprise, right? Why ruin it?

As she stepped to side, he saw a message engraved into the heart he made with his love's lovely hand writing. It said,

Shiro and V....Forever.

No matter what happens... I'll always be here.

She took his hand again and intertwined her pinky with his. "I promise," she said. Smiling at his love, he leaned in and lightly brushed his lips against hers.

Breaking away, the man said, "I promise too." And with that, he removed his pinky from hers, now that they both promised. Getting off the tree, he took a step closer towards V and kissed her once again, much longer and more passionate than the one before. Oh how he loved her. As he kissed his love, he thought I really hope that paopu fruit has the power...

V smiled, then breaking away from the kiss she looked up at the sky. "Its getting dark..." she muttured softly.

She looked at Shiro, and grabbing a hold of his hand said, "Lets go back to the gummi ship." The girl then led the way, and she started to walk forward. Today had been a perfect day...and the best part was, she got to spend it with the best man in her life.

She yawned shortly, feeling a little bit tired. Even with all that rest she had earlier, it looked as if she was still exhausted. She wrapped her arms around her love's right arm, and narrowing her eye's looked as if she was ready to go to bed.

"I love....you..." she whispered, but just loud enought for Shiro to hear.

Meanwhile, deep inside V's soul Shira was becoming restless. This was the first time V asked her to step out of her life for a bit, she wasnt sure what to do. Deep thoughts surrounded her head as she laid silently into the darkness. Automatically she could tell...V was beggining to change. A new chapter in her life was starting to begin. She sighed.

"I guess...its almost time..." she thought to herself. She looked up into the dark void, and extending out her hand whispered. "Soon...my time will end..."
