In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Powers: Breath, Dark Phoenix!: Shirou inhales deeply, drawing dark and fire magic within, and exhales, breathing out a large (1 foot radius) dark fireball. It travels approx. 30 mph. inflicting medium damage and slight burns.
Scent Seeker: Shirou is able to scent his surrounds far superior to any humans. He can identity a person individual scent up to 300 meters. However, Shirou cannot pin point the exact location of where the scent is, only a rough estimate of distance depending on the strength of the scent and the direction it's coming from.
Telepathy: Shirou is able to project his thoughts onto other's thoughts, meaning that he can talk to them via thought. However, he is unable to read their minds and can only hear their thoughts if they want him to hear them.
The Pullus Polarization: Shirou absorbs lightning magic within himself. If he touches somebody, the lightning will transfer over, shocking them.
The Tendrils of Darkness: Shirou is able to convert any item of his into a dark mist, in which he absorbs and stores within himself. He is able to bring forth the item at any with a thought and solidifying it.
Weapon: Disasterlogy - a normal scythe with no magical properties which stands about six feet tall.
Shadow Blades - Two blades infused with in Shirou's arms. They are able to extend forward by thought out of his wrists, both top and bottom (meaning above hand and underhand). They are four inches in length and 2.5 inches in width. They have the properties of steel. If ripped out or broken, they simply evaporate into black mist and return to his arms.
Picture:
Appearance: Shirou has straight, natural bright blue hair. It reaches down to his forehead, not quite reaching his eyes, which are a lighter shade of blue. It's usually messy, as he rarely fixes it. His eyes are icy-blue, and they have an analytical look to them. They often roam around the surroundings, either looking for something interesting or observing others. He often wears his hood up, covering his hair. Shirou stands about 5'9" and he has a slim build. He wears a black cloak, and a blue jacket and black pants underneath with black, fingerless compression gloves. A more casual look he has is a simple colored t-shirt with jeans. On occasion, he has his scythe sheathed on his back.
Personality: Shirou has a sarcastic type of attitude. He doesn't hesitate to be honest, even if it's offensive. He tends to do things only if it benefits him or he's just bored. He doesn't like to socialize, and if he does, it's out of boredom (of course). Shirou is immature most of the time, even in situations where it isn't needed. He often travels from world to world, looking for things to do. He tends to observe or to participate, especially if it's to create chaos. He doesn't express happiness, excitement, and other positive emotions but likes to express other emotions, such as annoyance or disgust. He can get rather short tempered and has little patience for the stupid, ignorant, or naive. When angered, he becomes even more sadistic and merciless.
While he doesn't like to socialize, he doesn't mind having a friend around. When he does have a friend, he is loyal and will help them out. He doesn't like to back down from anything, even if he's outmatched. While he is immature, he tends to be mature in certain situations affected him. Shirou doesn't consider himself evil or good, as he does both evil and good things depending on his mood. However, he seems to have a soft spot for small children.
Shirou often travels from world to world, looking for excitement. Sometimes, he just observes certain events. Other times, he joins in and likes to add to he chaos. He isn't stupid though; he knows how to read the situation (although he often ignores it) and won't interfere if there is a great chance of him dying. Combat wise, he primarily focuses on hand to hand combat and scythe play. He excels in speed, agility and strength. He, however, has a bad defense, both normal and magic, and a low offensive magic ability. He hates running long distances, and even refuses to do so in some situations.
Original World: Destiny Islands Current World: Twilight Town
History: Shirou Velox was born in Destiny Islands. He went to school for a few years, not really caring for it. He didn't socialize much and usually kept to himself. He had only had a mother, as his father had disappeared soon after his birth. His mother never told him where he went or who he was. As for his life, Shirou was generally bored with the repetitiveness of it all, wishing that there was more than just a vast ocean around him. One day, in an attempt to have Shirou use up his time, his mother told him about a secret about their family. She said that they had innate abilities, powered by magic, that focused on the senses. She explained that if Shirou could master the special scent ability, she'd have him travel to a new place, different from Destiny Islands. Excited at this new challenge, Shirou sought out to master this ability.
When Shirou was fourteen, he mastered the ability after two grueling years. He came home from school excited to tell his mother only to find her gone from his house and instead, a man sitting at the table. After some explanations, the man explained that his mother went off to another world, as her time was up here. He was Shirou's father, returned to train Shirou. When questioned why he was being trained, his father explained that Shirou was destined to live a life of travelling between worlds and he needed combat skills to aid him.
Throughout the next year, Shirou was taught how to use the blade, and the scythe as well as hand-to-hand combat. His reflexes, strength and speed were primarily trained. His father also taught him a new sense ability akin to his family, which was actually utilizing a sixth sense: telepathy. Unlike his mother, his father actually trained him, so he learned it quicker, although he only got to the point where it wasn't mastered. Other than that, his father informed him of a few spells to use in the case he was weaponless, which were a lightning spell (Pullus Polarization) and a fire spell.
After a year was up, Shirou's father left him with his new knowledge and a scythe. Finally excited to leave the dull world he grew up in, he zipped off into space, looking for a new world. However, he was still inexperienced in experiencing new worlds, despite how much training he had received from his father. He had issues, and had many near death situations involving the heartless, the nobodies, and even the natives to worlds. He also found, with some confusion, that he was unable to visit Destiny Islands, as it was consumed by darkness. Worried, although not concerned, he shrugged it off.
One day, while visiting a strange world, he was attacked by a large heartless. He was eventually overpowered, and on the brink of being consumed by the heartless, he found a solution: the darkness in his heart. He tapped into it, and his strength grew. Although it didn't increase his power largely, it did so enough so he was able to defeat the heartless.
Because he only tapped into it, drawing only a little, Shirou wasn't consumed by the darkness within his heart. However, for an unknown length of time, he roamed the world, on the brink of being consumed and losing his sanity. Finally, he came to his senses enough to leave the world and control his growing darkness.
When he woke next, he found himself in a town he later knew as Traverse Town. His sanity recovered, he sought out to conquModify Poster the darkness without it consuming him. It took a few months, to which he finally came to the point where he could use his darkness while being able to suppress it. From there, he discovered that Destiny Island had been restored and it was all thanks to some boy who wielded strange weapon called the Keyblade, who had gone missing.
Shirou decided to find a place to call his own, so he found an apartment in a world called Twilight Town. After settling down, he learned that his personality had become more exaggerated. His anti-social traits from his childhood came out more, making his personality what it is today. He also utilized his newfound darkness powers, such as finding his new ability to absorb items within him via darkness. He also mastered his telepathy ability, and expanded on his Scent Seeker ability. When he used his fire spell, he found he had mixed it with his darkness, creating Breathe! Dark Phoenix.
While visiting Hollow Bastion one day, one of the first days he started to travel again, he found that it had been renamed to Radiant Garden. So it seems that he had missed out on many things, including the fall of Organization XIII. How interesting.
Role Playing Sample: A shadow heartless jumped towards Shirou. With two quick slashes, it was nothing but evaporating darkness. Hmph. A soldier heartless charged at him. Shirou quickly disposed of him with his scythe, similar to the shadow before it. He groaned when he saw that there were several more surrounding him. He threw his scythe forward. As it spiraled through the air, slashing various heartless along it's path, two blades unsheathed from his wrists. Time to get down to business...
About an hour or so later, Shirou collapsed and fell on his knees. He dropped his scythe as he panted. He was covered in several cuts and bruises and cuts, and was exhausted. Shirou had just gotten rid of the last heartless. Suddenly, there was a sharp pain in his chest. He fell on his hands, from the sudden pain. Gritting his teeth, he suppressed the darkness that was creeping on him. This usually happened whenever he was exhausted physically and mentally. However, it's been getting better lately. He's been learning to restrain it. After a moment, the pain was gone and his heart was still his. However, he knew it would come. Shirou often worried that he would be consumed, but he didn't expect that day to come anytime soon.
Shirou stood up and brushed himself off. He sighed as he examined his cloak. It was all cut up now. Great. He'd have to get a new one, or get it repaired, which both cost him munny. Maybe he should just be a mercenary. He could get profit from fighting. That was always fun. With another sigh, the young man found his gummi ship and returned home.
He took off his cloak and threw it over a chair. He was about to go get something to eat when he noticed there was another presence in his home. Black mist started to surround his hand when he located the intruder. It was his father, who was casually sitting on the couch, waiting for him. With a sigh, the black mist disappeared.
"What are you doing here," Shirou asked as he went over to the fridge. He opened it, looked for a moment, and pulled out a pizza box.
"I just wanted to visit my son, see what he's up to," came the reply.
"Well, here I am. You know, alive and whatnot."
"I can see that. Although, is that darkness I sense tainting your heart?" His father's voice was curious, with a tinge of concern.
Shirou pulled out a piece of pizza and bit into it. After chewing and swallowing, he said, "So how's mom? Is she doing well?"
"She's well. While she claims to enjoy living in paradise, I think she gets bored. Now, what about your darkness?"
Shirou quickly finished off the piece of pizza and started on another one. "She always seemed bored when I was there," he said around a mouthful thoughtfully. He swallowed. "How have you been? Seen any interesting worlds?"
"The Darkness." His father's tone was now serious, showing he didn't want to play around anymore.
Shirou sighed. "Fine, fine. I may have tapped into my inner darkness, went insane for a while, ate a cat, but I'm fine now," he explained as he threw the now empty pizza box away.
"Right," his father said, his tone showing he didn't really believe him.
"No lecture," Shirou inquired, his tone mocking.
"You know I was never one with lectures," his father replied simply, getting up.
"Then again, I only knew you for a year. Funny how that works out."
His father winced at the harshness of his words. He didn't try to defend himself, as they often had these arguments. He knew nothing would change his mind. With a sigh, familiar to Shirou, he walked towards the door.
"Later, Shirou," he said as he walked out and closed the door behind him.
Shirou sighed and plopped down on the couch.
Questions/Comments/Suggestions? Uh, sorry if anything isn't allowed on here ><
Personality still talks about him traveling from world to world, though he doesn't seem to have a means of doing so with the revised powers. Gummi ships aren't a dime a dozen.
The time period in between having lost his sanity and regained it will have to be elaborated upon. If it's simply background, how long? What effects had it on his mindframe? That sort of thing. If it's meant to be vague on account of a planned RP that you intend to fill in as you go, it will still have to be elaborated on some, especially an estimate of how long, at least.
Also, it took almost a year for Riku to tame his Darkness, with a truer Heart and good intents, and that almost cost him many times over. Even Terra, who arguably had a lighter Heart than Riku and a less-angst personality to boot was almost lost on accident simply for wanting something too much. Someone with the personality and mentality of Shirou, adapting it to numerous of his powers and all, shouldn't be able to conquer it in "a few months" without much more severe consequences.
