In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.

Outside a dilapidated old shack, inside an strange cavern with an open top, a young woman sat cross legged. She had her eyes closed and her hand in in front of her, palms together. Red sparks of energy jumped across her body. in the darkness, a black aura could just barely be seen around her. The red sparks climbed though her odd red striped hair, and zipped about her dark clothing. she didn't move though, as though the energy simply did not concern her...
Xaoc sighed. How had she gone so far? She didn't love people. She barely tolerated people, as a matter of fact. But one person had reached out, and stolen her heart. Vayne lounged by the water outside of the abandoned house that he had been living in for a few months now; he'd landed on the doorstep when he arrived in this world, and had been slowly earning Munny and buying things to spruce it up. Eventually, he would have to leave. Before that, though, he would make sure that it remained a safe haven for people who had been displaced from their world, and couldn't afford the Hotel in Second District.
Vayne's bare feet kicked slowly and absentmindedly through the cool water surrounding his island home. Across a small stretch of water, he could see a small jutting portion of the cavern wall with what looked like a looted chest on it.
"Hmm... I wonder what Onee-chan is thinking about over there..." he said.
So much had been going on as of late... Really, it all had to do with his "older sister" and her rather interesting appearance on the Traverse Town scene. Vayne hadn't been entirely sure of her at first (only 99% sure), but then she had fought alongside him and even watched him perform at the night club/bar where he worked.
"I wonder if anymore interesting people will be showing up like Onee-chan," he said, laughing a bit while his ears twitched at the thought of more friends.

A door with a red flame symbol stood there out of sight in an alleyway of the this little town. Suddenly a fireball hit the door and it opened up automatically, as if a spell was put was on the door. As the door opened up a red-headed teen walked through and into a cavern with a lake and an island in the middle with a broken down looking hut on top.
As Lea walked to the waters edge he looked at the moving rocks along the water. He took out a ring from his pocket and stared at it, red sparks were coursing all over the ring. "Guess I have to cross the water. Good thing I know an easier way to travel." Lea chuckled to himself, sometimes it was good being a monster of the dark, "Still, why would that Xaoc chick be here? Oh well, if she' here then she's here. Hm? Who's that?" Lea noticed a kid with...cat ear's...?
"Boy, I'm meeting all kinds of people. Maybe he knows where she is." The red Heartless said, scratching the back of his head, as he opened up a black portal behind him and walked through. Another portal opened up behind the cat eared kid and Lea stepped through it and stood behind him. "Hey kid, could you help me find someone I'm looking for."
Suddenly... the ring, it jumped. It was much closer than before. Xaoc smiled as she realized Lea had come back. She opened her eyes, and the sparks did down. She had been behind the house, training herself, but now, she stood, stretching, and walked around the front. There he was. Lea. She didn't bother saying anything, she just walked closer, then stopped and made the ring spark brilliantly, fairly buzzing with energy. It shouldn't hurt him in the slightest, but if that didn't get his attention... As soon as he did notice her, she said, "Hi Lea."

Vayne felt the uneasy feeling in his stomach come again. Was there a Heartless nearby? But this place was usually safe. As safe as First District, anyway. No, it couldn't be a Heartless, since he wasn't on the verge of vomiting. Then he heard somone adress him from behind.
Vayne turned his head slightly to see a teen who didn't look too much older than himself standing on the grass behind him. His hair was a fiery red-orange color, and it was done in spikes. Vayne smiled at that. Then Onee-chan addressed him, and she didn't sound mad or afraid.
"Hmm... Is Onee-chan the one you were looking for?" Vayne asked. "Maybe she really is a dangerous space criminal..."
Vayne laughed as he rose from the water's edge and went to stand next to his surrogate sister. This man felt very strange; he inspired the same feeling in him as Heartless did, but to a much more subdued degree.
"Why do you feel like a really weak Heartless?" Vayne asked innocently.

Lea looked at the kid, who he guessed was a boy on closer inspection, with a confused look. Just who was this...Onee-chan? And, where'd he get the whole space criminal thing? "No...not really...I'm looking for a girl called Xa-" He felt the ring he got give off more red sparks around it.
"Hi Lea"
Lea turned around and faced the woman he meet earlier here in this same town. "Hey Xaoc. How's it hanging? By the way, do you know this kid?" That boy sure was an odd one. Though Lea does know some more "odd" people if he wasn't mistaken.
"Why do you feel like a really weak Heartless?"
Lea felt a bit of anger shoot up inside him because of the kid's question. "A weak Heartless? You think I'm weak kid? Why don't you try me and find out for yourself if I'm weak!" Lea said to the kid, then he realized what he just said. Crap, I spilled the beans again, way to go Lea"
Xaoc's smile changed to a frown as she placed a hand on Vayne's shoulder. Did he just threaten her little brother? A few sparks arced off of her. "Yes, I do know this boy. His name is Vayne. And you will be nice, got it? Otherwise..."
She trailed off, looking at the Heartless. There it was again, that tiny bit of caring. She sighed, and stopped sparking. Now wasn't the time to start a fight, but she would not hesitate to choose Vayne over Lea, if Lea made any untoward moves. She released her anger, and, relaxing, smiled slightly. "Lea, Vayne. Vayne, this is Lea, he's a friend of mine."

His ears perked and he quickly latched onto Lea, lavishing him with affection like a small child... Well, like a smaller child. He looked up at this strange man who had come looking for Onee-chan.
"I'm still confused about you, though..." Vayne said. "You feel like a weak Heartless... Did you just get through fighting some?"
Letting go, he wandered back to the edge of the island and plopped down on his stomach, raising his legs and kicking in the air as he dipped a hand into the water and began to slowly move it. He hummed to himself, absently thinking of nothing in particular, but then a thought struck him.
"Oh no!" Vayne exclaimed and jumped up from the grass. "I might have ruined my dress!"

Lea could tell that Xaoc would try and hurt him, scratch that, she'd probably kill him if he wasn't nice to this Vayne kid. "Kay I got it. Hey there Vayne." Suddenly Vayne latched onto Lea, "Whoa, down boy." Lea said, sorta grinning at the kid, he sure was an odd one.
"I'm still confused about you, though...You feel like a weak Heartless... Did you just get through fighting some?"
"Uh...not exactly." Good, this kid didn't put two and two together. He watched Vayne lie down in the grass and then yell out something about ruining his dress and jumped up from the grass. Lea couldn't help but chuckle to it. "So Xaoc," Lea turned his attention back to the woman, "How you've been? And, where'd you meet the kid, he sure is a...neat... kind of guy." He leaves her alone for a while and now she has a kid with her, boy this was one crazy, or weird, chick.
She looked at Lea sideways for a moment, then sat down and lened against the old house. Well, she wasn't going to have to kill Lea, that was good. She shook her head at Oto-kun's actions. "I gotta get that kid some new clothes... I've been okay. Had to curb stomp some jerk earlier today, while Vayne was working... I met him yesterday, after our little beach trip. There is just something about him... I really care about him. Maybe it's because he's so sweet, or maybe it's something else. He's like a kid brother to me, and he feels like I'm his older sister." She closed her eyes and sighed. "I haven't actually cared about another person in a long time... But now?"
She stopped talking, and looked at Lea. "So, why are you here? Just bored?" She smiled. "Or did you miss me?" she asked, winking at him.

Vayne went into the house again. He had to change out of his nice outfit and into something more appropriate for around-the-town travels. Slipping off the latex and satin, he carefully placed it on a peg on the wall and began to clothe himself.
"Not as pretty..." he said to himself. "Though I can't keep fighting in my performance outfits... Daniel would kill me if I ruined the special one!
Vayne once again exited the house, this time jumping from the small, rocky jetty at the front of the house and landing on the nearest stone. It began to move on its own, and Vayne just set his feet into the water. He'd rolled up the legs of his jeans to prevent them from getting wet, and had made sure he'd zipped up his hoodie completely.
"I wonder what Lea does around here..." he breathed. "I don't think I've seen him around Traverse Town..."
Suddenly, Vayne felt something gently brush against his feet. He jumped about ten feet into the air and yelped. It had felt slimy, and maybe just the slightest bit scaly.
"Onee-chan!" Vayne yelled, "There's something in the water!"

"So's he your kid brother eh? And what kind of job could he have? Though I've never would've imagined you to be the type. As for why I"m here...just out of boredom really. I went to check up on things at my...job, but nothing new for me to do there so I decided to come back here and maybe just walk around." And it was no lie, Lea usually just wanders in his free time, so he gets bored often.
He watched as Vayne went inside the hut and come back with some different clothes and cross the moving rocks until he sat down on one. "So it looks like you've been doing some good and bad ain'tcha? Well anyway, what do you plan to do from here on out?"
"Onee-chan! There's something in the water!"
Lea looked over his shoulder to see Vayne in the air, Huh, guess the Heartless might be here, who'da thought. He thought to himself.
"Yeah, we've kinda... adopted each other... He works at that club, in the second district. Dark Intentions. Their the ones who give him the girls clothing... I watched him work yesterday, and I got so pissed I nearly blew the place to hell... But he really likes it their. He thinks the people there go to hear him sing, and I don't have the heart to tell him the real reason... But I swear on the light, the darkness, and the Chaos, if anything ever happens to him there, I will amputate the spinal columns of all the customers and the people who work there, with a spatula, one vertebrae at a time." She crossed her legs, and opened her eyes, looking at Lea. "So, then, just bored? If you're bored why aren't you hunting or something? Why come to me? Not that I'm complaining... I like hanging out with you, but, why not hang out with the other members of the Dark XII?"
"My plans? Right now, I'm just training and taking care of Oto-kun. I don't usually make plans. Kinda like yourself."
When Vayne shouted, Xaoc stood up, a worried look on her face. Then a fish jumped out of the water. That might be all it was, but... "Sweety, why don't you come over here? Then if it decides to come out, it'll have to deal with all of us."

Vayne began to move for the two older people. That is, until a large tentacle slithered out of the inky water and caught his ankle. Vayne found himself being hoisted high above the water and the stones as the Heartless-- for indeed, now that he was paying attention, he could feel the true waves of nausea-- surfaced.
It looked like a large green squid, but shackles and chains hung loosely from a few of the tentacles it was now raising from the water. It wasn't too big, only about as large as one of the stepping stones, but its tentacle were long.
"Agh! Get off of me!" Vayne yelled, and pressed a palm to the slimy skin of the appendage holding him. He focused all the energy he could, and then let it loose.
"See ya!" he said.
Electric currents discharged from his hand and fried the tentacle. Unfortunately, Vayne hadn't counted on being let go. As the tentacle released his ankle, Vayne became very aware of the fact that he couldn't fly.

Lea watched as a tentacle grabbed Vayne and hoisted him in the air. "Well that's new, never seen that kind of Heartless before." The red Heartless summoned his frisbrees to his hands and got ready for a fight. Yeah sure he would let Xaoc and Vayne handle this on their own, but with Xaoc here he'd thought it be best to help than be killed.
"Alright, hope your ready Xaoc." Lea threw his frisbrees at the tentacles of this new Heartless to try and sever it's tentacles. He then noticed Vayne falling to the ground, Crap! Can't a Cat Boy splattered here. He summoned two of his Lionblazes Heartless. "Go catch Cat Boy guys!"
On command the two lion Heartless jumped on top of the moving rocks, their focus on Vayne. On of the lions jumped to the next moving rock in front and the other jumped on top of it's comrade to jump higher and reach Vayne to try and grab his shirt so it can bring him back to the island to rejoin Lea and Xaoc.
