In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Ok so we know that Ansem Seeker of Darkness wanted kingdom hearts, the heart of all worlds. Xemnas created his own kingdom hearts to gain hearts of their own for the organization. Master Xehanort wanted kingdom hearts and Ventus to merge so he could see what the X-blade was.
My theory for kingdom hearts is that Xemnas tried to create his own kingdom hearts not to gain a heart but to gain the X-blade. I mean it kind of explains why the kingdom hearts in BBS and in 2 looked so similar.
Actually, the synthetic KH is a part of the real one, but not. It contains only the hearts of men. The real one contains both the hearts of men and the hearts of the worlds. Xemnas redirected the hearts of men to create it.
Also, I don't believe Xemnas was after a heart. Though that's what he led the others to believe, barring Xigbar.
Also Xemnas wasn't after the x-blade either... he would need a heart of light and a heart of darkness, both equal in power, to summon it. Also, Master Asshat Xehanort only wanted the x-blade to summon Kingdom Hearts... so if Xemnas is building his own KH the blade would pretty much be useless.
