Name: Issac Griff
Nickname:Griff
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Position: A-Rank SeeD
Powers: Isaac has the guardian force of a Griffon, a creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle. The guardian force is an ancient force, the creature's species once reaching almost a godly status. It is sealed inside of a pendant around Isaac's neck, and can be summoned at any time if proper energy is put into it. The Griffon's abilities when summoned range from:
-Firaga barrage: The Griffon spits at least ten blue fire balls of extreme strength, the fireballs move wildly around the field at normal Fire speeds. After a few seconds of a confusing dance from the fireballs, they all home in on the opponent at once from multiple different angles, causing an explosion at the center.
-Blades of Aeroja: The Griffon swings its wings while dancing in a circular motion, sending circular ripples through the air that leaves a sharp impact on anything it hits.
-Dance of Feathers: With one hefty swing of it's wings, the Griffon releases multiple feathers onto the battlefield. Hidden within these feathers, are sharp feathers that touching them will slice through many opponents. This technique is used to obscure sight and as a slicing technique using Guerrilla warfare.
Due to the fact that these techniques drain energy from Isaac, he has to use them very sparingly. However, he has also learned many of his own personal techniques.
-Fira: Basic Second level blast of fire magic
-Aeroga: Second level wind magic, strong enough to lift light opponents into the air, and throw heavy ones to the ground.
-Feather Daggers: By using his ability to control wind, he makes a whirlwind around himself while releasing a bag full of feathers. Having two daggers that look very similar to feathers, he unleashes a series of spinning attacks, making it hard for the enemy to see the daggers surrounded by feathers.
Aside from all those, if Isaac focuses all his energy into the pendant, the Griffon will temporarily share some of it's fighting wisdom with him. In this state, all of his abilities are multiplied. His speed and strength take an enormous leap. Along with that he is also given a temporary fighting instinct, letting him use his sword gracefully. In this state he is nearly untouchable and attacks his enemies in a fast paced dance more then a fight.
However, it only lasts for a short burst, and if he has used any of the Griffon's powers before using this technique, it will not work. When the burst of extreme energy is over, he is put in a state of extreme pain and exhaustion, leaving him open for any sort of attack from a survivor of this technique.
Weapon:Issac is well trained in both hand to hand combat along with weapons. He avoids long ranged combat. Along with advanced martial arts training he has two daggers, designed like large brown feathers, thus having a slight curve to them and multiple grooves throughout the blade. He uses these daggers in a fast paced spinning like combat, proficient with both of them at once as well as just one.
He also carries with him a long rapier. This thin blade is meant for agile combat. It requires grace to use successfully, and when attempting to block something such as a broadsword, it's unlikely to be proficient. However it is professionally crafted for precision and speed.
Picture:Appearance: As seen in the picture above, he chooses to wear his uniform on most occasions. If not he simply wears a black T-shirt, with a white design of a Griffon on the shoulder, and worn out blue jeans. His hair is a dark hazelnut color that swiftly flows above his face, but occasional gets in his eyes. His eyes are a greenish color, almost hazel.
What can't be seen is that usually he keeps his two daggers in the holster, attached to his belt on the right side. Along the left side of his belt he keeps his sword sheathed, ready for this ambidextrous fighter to take either of the weapons out at any give moment.
Something he is never seen without is the pendant he has had since he can remember. It's a silver Griffon with a ruby for the eye that can be shown. The Necklace always has a slight glow of power to it, because most can sense the powerful presence inside of it. It's connected to him by a gold chain that never seems to leave his neck.
Personality: Isaac's personality is a very hard one, because he has lived such a large portion of his life knowing only fighting. He has a sense of humor, but it's very hard to reach. Making him laugh is even more challenging then beating him in battle. He is a very deep thinker, almost depressingly deep.
One of his true loves is stories. Both telling and listening to them. He loves stories, true or fiction. Due to his addiction to deep thinking, he prefers in depth stories, analyzing things behind them such as messages and ideas. Thus he is a very literate person, always having a book on hand to read in case he needs something to do. Along with his obsession with reading he has an unnatural obsession with puzzles, the challenge of finding tricky solutions, especially when not all of the problem is known. Something about using his brain just makes him enjoy himself for once.
He has an overriding sense of duty however. If a mission is at hand, he must attend to it in the fastest most efficient way possible. It was having this mindset that got him into the position he's in. He has never found himself a true purpose in life, so whenever given a mission he turns that into his purpose. His drive changes on a regular basis, but all equally drive him to succeed.
Often being alone in this set of thinking, and hard to tolerate, it's hard for him to make friends. He never really let it concern him either. He has huge amounts of respect, but almost no affection. Having developed a sense of independence from this, he has trouble trusting others without just cause and often he pushes them away emotionally.
Original World: Galbadia (it's a town, but the world doesn't have a name)
Current World: Traverse Town
History:Ever since he can remember, all he knew was the garden. Most orphans remembered their families, but all he had for memory was that he was told of the pendant belonging to them. Otherwise, he had nothing to remember them, not even thoughts. He never really had a good chance at making friends at the Garden, for his best friend was older then him, and people his age thought that was very odd. He could only manage to make one friend the entire time. But through both of their training they helped each other out.
His friend taught him of things of higher levels, teaching the physical aspect. However, Issac was never physically as capable as most, instead he thought of ways to make it easier and overall more effective. Sharing these ideas with his friend, he was deeply appreciated for his advice. If his friend managed to learn how to do it, he would spend endless hours teaching Issac the physical skills required to manage it.
The two went through training together, however due to the age difference, his friend went off to become a SeeD long before Issac did. All on his own for a little over a year, Issac had trained mercilessly, spending all hours of his day working on his skill, and uncovering the abilities found in his pendant.
Once he had finally graduated and went on to be a SeeD, he was sent on mundane missions. This left him almost empty. He no longer had the drive of training, no personal drive, and his missions left him bored. After a year he had gotten so fed up with it he shared his concerns with Cid. Not being one too ignore people's complaints, Cid had took him up on his talk, sending him on harder and harder missions. Giving him a challenge every month, every week, every day.
He quickly climbed up the ranks, becoming better and better as time went by, until people who had before led him now followed him. After leading enough missions, word got around of his composure on the field, and his inability to be shaken. People thought it was almost inhuman that he can view everything in the way that he did, and not be depressed.
Eventually it reached the point where people thought him a monster, including his only friend, who had happily served under him on many missions. As the missions went by people liked him less and less.
He was less of a person and more of a soldier, bred for battle. They sent him to Galbadia, to work solely with other soldiers. By the time he was sent to work here, he had become an A-Rank member of SeeD. He led on some of the toughest missions, like assassination or courier missions through deadly territory.
His time in Galbadia had led him to find out the true purpose of SeeD. The real target of their organization, Ultimecia. He had heard of the witch, and the farther he got into the information the closer it seemed to relate to the organization. He had imagined multiple times himself being the hero to take her down. However, he knew that it wasn't likely to happen. He was known for flawless skill, but he knew there was better, and in a fight she would easily destroy him.
After the war with the heartless broke out, he was sent on missions relating to fighting them. Until one day, he was sent on an information mission. No one really knew about these beasts, but word had been sent around about using their powers for one's own use. He was sent to look into the beasts, and record any findings. His mission had led him to almost being destroyed and sent him out of his world to explore the vast galaxy filled with possibilities.
Role Playing Sample: The lava bubbled and steam filled the air. The path of stone slightly lifted from the lava, the lower stone seemingly crumbling into ash. As Issac walked through the fire cavern, he could feel sweat drip off of his nose. He walked onward, straight into what seemed to be never ending heat.
As he walked he thought about the scratches he saw on the side of the cave. Probably a beast, but he had only fought a few since he had entered. It seemed odd that this place was so well known for it's monsters, and he had only encountered a couple of bombs and a bat.
Obviously someone had come here before him, the path was cleared of monsters even. This was clearly the path his target had taken. The man was supposedly hiding in the vast labyrinth of the Fire Caverns to avoid being pursued. It was an understandable strategy, no pursuer would ever want to follow him in here.
He walked on when he found it odd there were no traps. The man obviously knew he had a pursuer, otherwise he wouldn't be running. This was clearly his path, for most monsters along it had already been slain. Why had traps not been laid? Why had he not prepared for his pursuer to follow him?
As he approached, Issac saw a tent placed roughly in the rocks. Before approaching Issac questioned how he could possibly plan on taking shelter in a place like this. There was no water within a long range away, and the heat was unbearable for too long. The creatures weren't suitable to be eaten, so food would clearly be scarce. There was no way a man could survive in here for very long.
Suddenly it hit him. The tent was a trap. As he looked closer he also saw a line of black grains closely approaching the edge. Not even having to see the full trap, Issac knew it would be deadly. He was about to turn around and head back out, spring the ambush that is doubtlessly prepared for when he leaves, in case he didn't spring the trap.
Before he left he grabbed a stone from the ground and threw it into the tent. As it flew through the flap used as a doorway, a click could be heard. A large explosion, the sound of death within it's depths, went off. It shook the whole cave. His target definitely heard it. Now Issac was dead, and he was free to hunt his target without the peskiness of his evasive maneuvers.
As he walked on he thought to himself how things would have worked out differently had he not thrown it. He would have walked out of the cave, been attacked likely from a bush close by. A series of traps would throw off his fighting ability. And while a cover of smoke, or after a tripwire of sorts, his enemy would get away and the pursuit would start over once again.
Now, thanks to Issac no longer existing in yet another persons head, all he'd have to do is follow some footprints until nightfall. And while his confident target rested somewhere deep in the woods, he would easily just slay his target in the dead of night. Another advantage of the ability to disappear out of people's minds and not be thought about. Some people consider that a curse. as Issac approached the exit he could feel the breeze. As he walked onward towards the light, he accepted that he would never understand why people go insane trying to be noticed, when being unnoticed is so much more convenient.
