Name: Vintus Asher
Nickname: Vint, Ash

Species: Hume
Position: Initiate of the Order of the Coeurl

Weapon:- Vint's weapon belonged to his father, a member of the intergalactic Order of the Coeurl. The sword is one-handed, with a one-meter-long blade and a ten-centimeter grip. The blade, the cross-guard, and the pommel, as well as the locket and chape of the scabbard, are steel, shined to reflectiveness by Vint. The grip is primarily steel, but it is wrapped with brown leather. The rest of the scabbard is made of hardened brown leather. The blade cross-section would be a basic diamond shape.
The special thing about this blade is that it changes as Vint gains ranks. The blade will magically transform into the next thing once Vint achieves the age-old requirements in his knight order.
Picture: None for now.
Appearance: Vint stands at about six and a half feet tall. He is rather heavy, but that is due to the muscle which he has worked hard for. He is rarely found in a situation where his arms or torso, even legs, are bare, but he is much defined. He has dark brown hair going to his ears, and dark blue eyes. His primary outfit, that is to say outside of battle, consists of a white, long-sleeved shirt, long, black breeches, and a brown belt. On the belt is a munny pouch, and he wears brown leather boots and leather gloves. Where appropriate, he wears a brown tabard or a travelers' cloak.
When in battle or roaming unknown territory, he wears light armor which he carries around in a pack on his back. The primary piece is a hardened leather breastplate which is somewhat resistant to magic attacks. He also has greaves of the same material, if a bit softer for flexibility.
Personality: Vint, having descended from a knight, has many honorable traits. Vint has courage to a degree; he is not very battle-hardened and is not completely used to the idea of looking danger in the eye. He is also a strong believer of justice, if not fully willing to be the one to bring evildoers to it. While he is merciful, he also has a hard time letting people go, even if punished to some degree. Vint can be charitable, but he is very choosy of whom he is charitable to; he will not help someone who made themselves be in a bad place. He is faithful and believes that good will prevail in the end. On a related note, Vint is humble, knowing that he is not in a position to lead anyone, and that his accomplishments are few compared to many others.
If nothing else, Vint is a determined individual. He will stick to doing something regardless of the odds, which can and will put him in great danger. He also shows much diligence, often choosing quality over quantity. He is honest, never lying unless it is for the greater good- and even then, he hesitates. He would also risk his life for the sake of any other, friend or foe.
Original World: Albion
Current World: Twilight Town
History: Vintus Asher was born on the world of Albion, completely ruled by the Empire of the same name. At the time of his birth, he only had his mother to care for him, as his father was a knight and off… well, doing knightly things. He had been gone on some sort of crusade for a while, and wasn’t expected back for several years.
So Vint had his mother, and it was good enough for him. He didn’t have many friends as a child, as he was quite antisocial. He would love to play games with people who would hang out with him, and it would always include knights, as he had been told of his father’s career. Knights were in the highest regard for him, and he aspired to be one from a young age.
When he was in school, he was about average. He wasn’t proficient in anything in particular, but he did show outstanding moral character and was commended for it. It may have made him seem like a complete dork, but he believed in chivalry and waited for the day his father returned.
…And he did one day. During a thunderstorm, Vint’s father entered his home, seeing faces that he barely recognized. It was obvious that he was very sick. He and his mother did what they could, but he died in less than a day. There was a funeral, and Vint’s father was buried in his armor and his sword was passed on to his son, as was the tradition. The sword changed from the large great sword it was to his father into a basic long sword- it’s way of acknowledging a new wielder and thus a new knight.
Vint felt honored, but he had no clue how to go about becoming a knight, as knights were a thing of the past for the most part. He practiced with it, and learned some magic, too. However, one night he had a dream in which a strange machine fell from the sky and a man came out and died. From there, Vint got in and flew off into space, seeing other worlds. Of course it was ridiculous at first, but he was walking in the woods when it happened: A Gummi ship with a malfunctioning engine crashed nearby. When he went to investigate, Vint met an old man with a sword- much like the one belonging to his father before Vint became the new owner.
The old man did indeed die, but not before telling Vint that evil was afoot. Creatures the likes of which had never been seen on this planet were on their way here, and they had to be stopped lest all of Albion be taken over by the Darkness. Vint agreed to take this task, and the man died. He was able to fix the broken engine and the hull based on blueprints that he was able to figure out, and off he went on an adventure.
Role Playing Sample: Vint stepped foot on a world other than Albion for the first time. The ground was stone, like a lot of the places in his world, but the air, the feel, even the very gravity was different. The world was alien to him, the implications astounding. Did his father go to other worlds? Did he visit this one? Was he standing in the same place as his father once did?
Vint’s mental what-ifs were cut short by an odd creature- it looked like a bipedal pig with two wings and a pom-pom on his head. It was shouting something about selling jewelry (“Kupo!”). Vint had no interest, so he walked on. Though most of the people were human, he saw some odd creatures, like people with animal-like features and whatnot. And weapons like swords were in abundance; he even saw people selling them.
Vint was nearly overwhelmed, but he ended up in some forest by going through a hole in a wall, and saw a large mansion. He started towards it out of curiosity, but he was interrupted by weird creatures appearing. They were short and black- somewhat like primates but with antennae and with yellow eyes, and they attacked him. He pulled out his father’s sword, which he had a bit of practice with, and blocked one’s attack. There were five of them, and Vint was surrounded. He sliced at the one which attacked him, following up with a three-hit combo and destroying it in a black mist.
The other four closed ranks, ending up in front of him. They each attacked. Vint got hit once, but he was protected by his greaves, and he attacked one several times, getting the same result. The other three became wary and kept their distance, darting in for an attack occasionally. Vint blocked, and sent a thunderbolt at one, destroying it. The other two attacked without abandon, charging in recklessly. With a few sword strokes and a well-aimed blizzard spell, they were gone.
Vint panted, exhaustion setting in. Were these the evil that the old man had spoken of? What were they? What did they want? Vint had questions, and so he went off in search of the answers.
