Name: Aisling Fae Hume
Nickname: Ace
Age: 17, though she looks like she could be in her early 20s
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Position: Neutral, tends to react based on her personal morals and values.
Powers: Far Sight - Allows Aisling to see a 5 second flash of an event in the future. An upside to this would be that she'll be able to have a decent idea on what's to come. The setback would be if she tries to change it to her advantage and it works (which rarely, or never happens), she is faced with knowing that something bad could happen to either her or those close to her. The bad can include anywhere between losing munny, brief loss of skill, memory loss, injury, or just a string of unfortunate events
Basic Elemental Spells:
Fire - Can use once every two posts
Other than Fire she knows only Blizzard and Thunder (so far), and she isn't as well trained in them. She can use Blizzard once every four posts; Thunder, only once every five.
Weapon: Her weapon is a bow and arrow. Each arrow is given a different name, and its appearance and attributes correspond with the name. With each different spell she learns, an arrow is found not long after.
Aduro - Aisling's first arrow. This arrow is a bright, shining white arrow. It is mostly used to create a distraction. Whenever the arrow hits something, it emits a white, almost blinding light. After the light goes away, it disappears and goes back to Ace's possession. It normally doesn't inflict fatal damage, so Ace uses it as an opportunity to run away. This was her first bow.
Ignis - Before it is released, Ignis is a bright red bow with an orange point. While it is in the air, it is surrounded by fire and and burns brighter and brighter until it hits. Whatever it hits, the flames will transfer to. So, feel bad for the boxes that tend to go up in flames while she's practicing.
Glacialis - A light blue arrow, that turns into ice after being released. Turns the immediate area of impact into ice. (If it hits a larger, stronger living thing such as a human, a sheet of ice just covers the area)
Procella - A dark green arrow, that has lightning crackling around it when released. When it hits its target, a loud "boom" is heard, and the target gets a shock.
Picture:Appearance: The thing that makes Aisling stand out from the rest of the crowd, obviously, is her vibrant hair. Her long straight locks are the brightest of purple, with black on the bottom. Her hair falls to her elbows, and she has left side-bangs that fall half way past her eyes. Her snow white skin covers her 107 pound, 5 foot 3 inch frame. Her soft, feminine curves are subtle, her chest size being only around a small C cup. Her lips could be describled as shapely, with the top lip a little thinner than the bottom. Her nose is neither big nor small, it is pretty much an average nose, not counting the silver hoop in her septum. Her face has somewhat of a glow to it, and its always easy to tell if she's upset because that "glow" seems to diminish.
As for body modifications, other than her septum ring, she has a few other piercings. She has 00 solid white gauges in her ears, and her left ear has two cartilage piercings, and a belly button ring. She also has a few tattoos, as well. Her tattoos are of small light blue fairy wings on her back, hearts on both of her wrists, and a snake on the outside of her right ankle.
Her average, every day clothing consists of a tight, white midriff-bearing halter top over hot pink fishnet, light denim short shorts, black leather fingerless gloves, and ankle-high boots.
Personality:You can cross out "girly girl" on this one. While, yes, Ace may have her moments where she acts extremely feminine, those who might not know her too well would be shocked and exclaim "thats out of character!" Ace's best known personality traits are that of being in charge, getting what she wants, and not being afraid to be a tad demanding. Out of her mouth spews every single one of her thoughts, and she's never once regretted it.
Now, thats just the talk of the town. While, yes, Ace is known to do those things often, in reality she's just a laid-back girl, trying to find the answers to questions she may have. She's not too bubbly or perky, not too mean or distant; She's just a relaxing, go with the flow kind of girl. Ace is outgoing, and quick-witted -- Oh, lets not forget sarcastic and hard headed. She's never been one to go with a certain side just because a few of her friends thought it would be the right thing to do. She's very much her own person. If she wants to follow, its for her own reasons.
Some people might be put-off by Ace when they first meet her. She can be a little too sarcasting, and a little too demanding and bossy, but once one takes the time to talk to her a little and get to be her friend, she's a sweet girl and you'll know her friendships are something she'll hold on to until the bitter end. She may be a bit reluctant at first, but eventually she'll warm up to you.
As far as her interests go, Aisling loves the beach and always has. She sees it as a place of mystery, where one can go when they're happy, sad, mad, or are just ready to ponder the world(s) and what's out there beyond them. Her mother always used to joke "How can you go to the beach so much and still be so white?" The answer would be that she prefers the beach at night, and when she does go during the day, she uses a lot of sunblock.
Being from the beach, she'll go crazy over sea-salt ice cream, or any ice cream for that matter. She also loves sea food. "I should be a shark or something..." she would sometimes joke.
She absolutely HATES spiders, of any kind. They're creepy, gross, and its unnatural for something to have eight legs and spin webs, which are nasty too.
What gets on her nerves are procrastinators or deniers. She will go completely off on someone for putting important things off, or acting as if nothing is going to happen so no one should prepare. When it comes to rumors of "natural disasters" or something of the sort, she's extremely paranoid.
Original World: Serpent Islands
Current World: Destiny Islands
History: Serpent Islands was a chain of tropical islands, in the form of an S. It was only a small canoe ride from island to island, and the founders who navigated it said they believed it to 'slither, like a snake', thus the name "Serpent Islands" was given. The islands were very much prejudiced, with the richer residents living on the bigger island, the "head" of the snake, and the class of the residence was in descending order for each little island, the poorest living on the smallest, and last island in the chain. Seventeen years ago, on the Head of the Snake, a baby girl was born to a wealthy, posh family. Her name was Aisling Fae Hume. For the first year of the child's life she was doted on by her mother and father, who rarely left his study, and family.
When the first year came and went, so did the excitement of having a new child, and everything went back to normal for Klein and Tazni Hume. Klein worked very hard for real estate and sometimes helped out with some government "charity" work to the poor islands, and Tazni was an interior designer, busy trying to make other people's lives happy, while leaving her daughter with a nanny.
Even though during the day, Aisling was being home schooled by the nanny while her parents were working, every night they came together like a semi-functioning family and ate dinner together. Tazni and Klein tucked their daughter in, kissed her good night, and help send her off to dream land. That is until, of course, Tazni became with child again while Aisling was at the tender age of five.
The child was a boy, which was a great joy for Klein. "Someone to take care of the business when I retire!" he exclaimed, after he was born. "Klein Raife Hume II, heir to the business!" he announced. Tazni was so tired after labor, that she just let him sign the name on the birth certificate.
And it was another year of joy, another year of happiness, with poor Aisling left out of the fun. She saw her new baby brother maybe 10 times after his birth, not counting the endless get togethers. After that year, though, when her mother was ready to work again, 6 and a half year old Aisling took care of young Klein, and developed a very strong bond with him. In the years to come, they were homeschooled together, Aislinn taught him how to read, and was always helping him out.
When Aisling turned 13, and Klein II was almost 8, Tazni decided that it was best if Aisling was more "socialized" and sent her out to regular school, far away from their big home on the beach, and in the center of their island. Aisling was a bit shy, offbeat, and wasn't quite sure how to fit in, until she met a boy named Cael. He was beautiful, outgoing, friendly, and picked her out immediately and started showing her where everything was and introduced her to all of his friends. Maybe, school won't be so bad; Atleast for Aisling. Klein II was still home schooled, and didn't know that his mother had wanted Aisling to go to school. He thought she was trying to get away from him.
When Cael and Aisling were 15, they fell in love, and decided to run away to one of the lesser islands together. They both shared distaste for the way their parents looked down on people, so they made plans and left, only making it to the second island from the Snake's Head before they were caught and escorted back to the house.
Klein II saw this, and even though he was only 10 years old, developed hatred for his sister. Why would she do this? Why would she leave him? He hated the way his parents thought too, why couldn't he be involved? Darkness sprouted in his heart that day, and he was never the same.
On Aisling's 16th birthday, news reached her parents that there were rumors of an attack, an attack on the island of shadows. There were already reports of it on the far island, the Tail. There was time, maybe a week or two, before it would hit the Head.
Aisling's nanny quickly ushered her to the basement, where she stayed. When Aisling asked what was happening, the nanny replied that she was going to teach her some things. "Basic magic." the woman replied in a thick, island accent. "We use it in the minor islands, to help us survive. Its not needed here. But I'll teach you, you MUST learn it. It is essential for your survival!" Within the one week Aisling learned as much as she could from Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder. She was able to work with Fire very well, but Blizzard and Thunder were her weak points when the first signs of darkness struck the island.
"Go!" Aelia, the Nanny exclaimed. "Take this!" she shoved arrows and a bow into the girls hand. Aisling had taken archery classes all her life, so she shook her head and left. She walked up from the basement to find the whole house was in darkness and her brother standing in the middle of it. When she went to ask him if he was safe, his eyes locked onto hers and he simply said, "Shut up, Ace."
Then there was nothing. Everything was black. 'I must be dead...' she thought '...must...be...'
She woke up to a large wave crashing down upon her. She got up choking, as people were crowded around staring. She stumbled up, and held her hand as she tried to keep balance. She looked around. Everything was too overwhelming, and she plopped back down to the sand. "Where... where the hell am I?" she asked in a gruff, dreary voice.
"Destiny Islands, ma'am." a child peeked behind his mother and said. "You're in Destiny Islands."
"Destiny...?" she wheezed out in a whisper. "You mean... Ser...p..." and then she fell back down, and passed out.
Since that day, she's had to scrounge to survive, and get things done when needed to be. There's no being pampered now, sweetheart.
Role Playing Sample: "One sea-salt ice cream." Aisling demanded, her munny clenched tightly in her fist. She tapped her booted foot on the ground, waiting for her ice cream to come into vision.
"Here you go ma'am!" The shopkeep said, opening his palm. As Aisling dropped the munny into his hand, he finally took a look at who is customer was. As his mouth opened, Aisling spoke "No its not stolen. And, if on the rare occasion that it WAS indeed, stolen, what does it matter to you? You steal every day. The other shop may be a bit farther away, but your prices are way higher than hers." She put the ice cream in her mouth, pondered, then added, "Now, let's not be butting into the lives of customers. Hope your day ends up somewhat decent."
She stuck her hand in her pocket, and sighed. 'This town MUST have a calendar posted somewhere...' she thought, and wandered around. "Pow. Gotcha." Aisling walked over to a small calendar on the bulletin board, while eating her delicious, sea-salt ice cream. "Other than him being nosey, this is some pretty damn good ice cream. Nothing beats this... sea-salt ice cream, hot day... Maybe I'll head to the--"
Her eyes grew large, and welled a little with tears as she slowly pulled the ice cream away from her mouth. "One...year...it's been a year...already?" she said in a dazed state, reliving and trying to remember all that happened that night. She dropped her hand to her side and pressed her back against the wall.
"Mom... Dad... Aelia..." she stopped, and wiped a stray tear from her cheek. "Klein... Oh, Klein..." she put the ice cream back in her mouth, as she held back a sob.
'Stop it, Ace' she shouted to herself, mentally. 'It's been a year. There's nothing you can do about it. You're living here, in this place. Make the best of it and survive.' Aisling closed her eyes, nodded her head, and pushed herself up. She looked back at the calendar with sad eyes, looked forward, and marched away.
"Never. Never ever will I get a calendar. Ever." She said, taking a bite of her ice cream. "OW! Brain freeze! Ah, damn!" She exclaimed, shaking her head furiously. She took a gloved hand and moved the vibrant purple strands of hair out of her face, as she looked on towards the sunset. She sat down in the sand, just a few yards away from where she was washed up.
Aisling shook her head and jabbed the bare popsicle stick in the sand. "Thats it, thats it!" She screamed, a few onlookers giving her some questioning looks. "I've got to get out of here. One way or another. Its driving me mad..." she stuck her head between her knees, and then popped back up, with a strange smile on her face.
"You know, as of last week... I'm seventeen. Another year older." She smiled, and sighed. "Hopefully, another year wiser..."
