Kage no geijutsu: Shisha no temaneki~Shadow art: deaths beckoningKanashimi uses a powerful but risky battle style, that only special chosen in his family can be granted by the spirit of death when they are born. His techniques not only fatigue him as normal, but draw their power from kanashimis health itself, which makes them very dangerous to use.
The gravekeepers are beings of life themselves, but use the darkness death granted them at their creation as their main weapon. They have been granted 'Scrolls' that have been passed down through generations of gravekeepers. There are two types of scrolls:
GraveKeeper Art: Standard graveKeeper scrolls that all GK warriors have the power to learn. The most advanced scrolls however are used only by the high elders, who also have been known to create new scrolls.
Death GraveKeeper Art: Special Tech, designed by and for only DGK's, for they are the only one with enough power to not kill themselves in the process of using them. They are powerful, and in return very dangerous. The standard DGK scrolls were given by death himself, But the Most advanced and powerful scrolls were designed and tweaked By The 1st and 2nd DGk's
Kanashimi May use several of these scrolls per battle, for he carries up to 3 copies for most *Except for a few exceptions because they are so Big* He does not, however, carry any of the advanced scrolls. He must unlock them in time using knowledge he has learned about the universe as the key.
To execute, he must lay out the scroll on the ground and give a blood tribute when he places his hand upon the activation marks on the scroll. The scroll itself becomes blank(Able to be re-written later) and the markings travel upon kanashimi, allowing him to use its power.
After extended use, death by blood loss becomes a very clear reality
BLE(Blood Loss Effect) - The name of the backlash given from using GK type scrolls
Fear Effect(See Shi no gensō power):Once in effect, the victims eyes becomes as red and demonic looking as the Shi no gensō. kanashimi then locates the victims biggest Fear and makes it a reality in an illusion, then causes them to hallucinate. Enemies become confused and demented, possibly hurting themselves or attacking other allies. The world would not change around them, It is their own eyes that have changed, manipulated by the power of death. As long as death is not the biggest thing they fear, the Shi no gensō causes them to make an illusion of their fear themselves. Based on the victims mind itself, how real the illusion looks is based on how fondly they remember that fear. Example of use: You fear bats; A flock of bats attack you. simple as that, no damage is inflicted. This effect is not absolute obviously, there are many ways to break the hold. one sure way, is to notice the oddities in the fear illusion. Example: if you've never been attacked by bats before. your not going to know what it feels like or what they do after they've swooped down. so your mind wouldn't be able to replicate that. If said victim were to look behind them, most likely the bats would just fade away rather than rejoining the flock of illusion bats above after 'attacking'. also, said victims mind would not be able to replicate pain because they have never been bitten before, so the bats would LOOK like they are biting, but the victim would feel nothing.

Void strike- Kanashimi's basic attack an amplfied darkness strike that flys through the air towards an enemy in the form of an X. Released by channeling energy into blade and releasing with a downward swing. Does moderate darkness damage.
(GK Scroll)Destiny invocation: Leeches Kanashimis GK Blood in exchange for a +power and +speed boost as he chants the sacred words of the darkness. Needs charging only available 5 post in between use and effects last for only 2 post, after which he is weaker than before from the BLE.
Sacred words of darkness:" Lingering darkness, vile heart filled with shadow, brimming with dark content, open the gate to absolute sorrow and draw the winds out of the land of luminescence. Dark souls overflow the skies above and release the inner darkness of the innocent. Where there is light Darkness will follow, where there is chaos, darkness shall bring cold order. essence of the the heart, essence of the spirit, darkness is The truth."
Death revolution: spins blade violently in the air to create a spinning blade of darkness. This can be hurled at a victim and controlled by Kanashimi with one hand. The reason he can do this is because he's willing the spirit of darkness forged inside the weapon itself. In theory, Anyone who could control darkness better than Kanashimi might be able to control Frostbytes path and direction simply by overtaking Kanashimi's own control of it.
Must charge two posts in between use.
(DGK ability)Shi no gensō: The eyes of the spirit of death itself, Kanashimi was born with this ability and has refined it greatly over 19 years of use. It is his most useful ability, and has evolved and matured over time.
Kanashimi has practiced more than just its immediate offensive uses. At age 13 he learned that he can also track the movements of darkness around him with the eyes. At age 19, he refined it even more so that he could track the darkness in peoples hearts(This being said, there are a few obvious exceptions- Nobodies have no heart and no darkness, so they cannot be tracked. This power is usually only helpful against humanoids who have at least darkness in their hearts so that even they know they do because they can feel it..if that makes sense. Heartless are darkness, so this power works; however, when when the heartless is moving in a group the heartless is indiscernible from the other beings of other darkness that are moving with it).
If one is caught in Shi no gensōs cold stare the following effects activate based on race:
Humanoid:enemies gain the 'Fear' effect for 1 post. Greater enemies can be slightly slowed (not guaranteed)
Nobody: Lesser enemies and enemies of equal strength(Dusk, Samurai,wizards, etc) become paralyzed for one post. Greater enemies(Org XIII, boss Nobodies) can be slightly slowed (not guaranteed)
heartless: Lesser enemies and enemies of equal strength may be slowed.(Shadows, Neo shaodws, Low emblem- soilders etc.) Does not affect greater Heartless(Bosses, Behemoths, humanoid etc)
*This Ability Causes Kanashimis eyes to bleed profusely, causing a moderate BLE. last for 2 post and can only use it 3 times per thread without resting in an inn of some sort. Must wait for 5 post before ability is usable. This attack will only work from a short distance as Kanashimi must make complete Eye contact for effects to take place.*
Limit Break: 1(DGK Scroll)Deaths Apprentice: only avaliable When Close to death Due to the BLE's from the scrolls(Or overall damage). a malevolent form, kanashimi gains a 'apprentice of death' cloak , which summons a steed of death that gives kanashimi an amazing speed boost and deaths scythe to kokais hands that drains alot of hp and mp if it strikes an opponent, (or Ally) And gives it to kanashimi. Scythe itself does not inflict physical damage.
Weapon: Frostbyte -Omoide no rirīsu e no akogare(longing for the release of memories):
A 5 foot long katana with a blade approximately 3.5 feet long. The blade is a steely black with a slight curve. The grip, which is about 2 feet long, is ornately designed and has the GK golden symbol underneath blue threads. the hilt is circular with a small bit of the death gravekeepers insignia melded into it.
The sword itself gives off an ominous aura and is ice cold to the touch. The sheath is maintained simple to humble the sword when not in use. It is black and made of very strong and mystical material that only the gravekeepers ancient blacksmiths know of, the secret surely lost over thousands of generations. In theory, the sheath alone could be used to club someone to death without getting a single mark upon it.
This weapon is ancient and powerful, passed down through the three Death GraveKeepers. There is an inscription on the blade that is the key to summoning it to the current active deaths gravekeepers hand at anytime and any place. Deals major darkness damage as its main element.

Appearance: Startling White hair, a very common genetic trait of the Gravekeeper line, especially The heir of the Death Gravekeepers powers. However, unlike his origins, he has a face for the sun, a.k.a he is good looking. Can be often be seen wearing a traditional gravekeepers trench coat, with special ornate designs to signify him as deaths chosen one(Although the rest of the order can be seen lined with gold type accessories and garnishments. This is used to Symbolize the simple ways the DGK must follow during his training.) . Can be seen with a smile on his face or a deathly serious brooding expression. His eyes are a mystic grey, and appear soulless at first glance. He keeps frostbyte sheathed underneath his robe. Kanashimi also carries scrolls for certain attacks under his robes that were given to him by the GraveKeeper order. They can be attached to his chest and/or arms to allow easy use within battle.
When alone, he could to be compared to a nobody, showing no feelings or emotions. A trait picked up from the gravekeepers teachings. Overall, he can be said to have a solemn look about him, and has an air of pseudo wisdom. Upon closer look however he often keeps his hair hanging over his head and eyes, in a playful sort of manner.
He's kinda tall, 6'1 but slim, not skinny mind you. Has a medium build of muscle from the extra training given to him from the grave keepers. He is very acrobatic and it shows in his body, giving him a weight of about 145 lbs. With scrolls however he could weigh up to 250 max depending on how light hes traveling.
Personality:Despite his name-which is directly translated as 'Sorrow'-Kanashimi tries to be as upbeat as possible around others and friends. He doesnt want people to be droopy like the gravekeepers order hes spent his entire life with. He would much rather let the good times roll. Hes laid back, and doesnt really like using his powers to hurt others. Hes much more content to protect those around him. His grim destiny does not stop him from doing what he does best either, flirting with girls. However, it often pains him to do so because he knows that his family would never approve of any girl met outside the GK order.
He enjoys taking in the sites of the world around him, the sunset, the buildings, hell, even the people. Using this as fuel, he's determined to be as friendly as possible and get many friends that he can protect and generally be with. He has a habit of being... frustrating at times, but makes up for it with his clearheaded-ness when it comes to the lives of his friends. Alone however, his true nature can be revealed. A nature acquired by years of service in the gravekeepers core and natural leadership ability.
When alone, his friendliness is removed, 'Dropped' for a better sense. He is infact, the Death Gravekeeper, cultivated from years of personal training. A brilliant and tactical thinker, he often uses a scale of balance as a reference to his manner of thinking. He has the ability to make the cold decisions necessary to accomplish a goal, but those same decisions are warmed by his heart and end up becoming more leaned towards his friends. A sense of honor has developed within him as a result from his extensive sword training with the gravekeepers. This allows him to not see an enemy, as an enemy, but as a fellow warrior and a friend, who has challenged him to a duel of life.
Kanashimi fears that he wont be able to save the things he loves or has connected to in some way. he has a habit of not killing, something gravekeepers are taught not to do as an infant. They respect all humanoid souls.

Kanashimi is still learning about what it truely meanss to be a GK, and now that he is on his own. Even as the truth comes to him ever so slowly, kanashimi cannot help but mix his own ideals into the grim fate of the GK order, thus, changing his outlook on life itself.

History according to the GK Order
It all began..at the creation of the known universe....
Life, the hailed savior of every being with a soul. The essence of the flourishing parts of the vast universe. At the beginning, there was only life. And it was...Chaos. Ordered chaos...Souls simply scorned the land they walked on, for there was nothing but life all around them. They were ignorant of nothing..and yet everything. The soon herald Savior became a target of their un-ending loathing. So, in retaliation against The Souls who had misused the power of life granted to them, Life birthed pain and punished the souls who took her gift for granted.
But this punishment...was not only hers to give. Soon, souls begin to realize that they could bring pain upon others themselves. Wars were unleashed upon the worlds, using pain as the main weapon against the immortal souls. Life, now desolate for the gifts she had given her children the souls, enacted one, final plan. She cast the souls into shells of themselves, trapped. she put the worst souls of the world into inanimate objects, unable to be heard from again. Those that were of some light were placed into souls of shells that were biological. And, As the final safeguard, Life gave birth to death, out of love.
She could not stand to see her children locked in their shells forever, so the shells became nothing more than a prison, and death itself, the prison keeper. At the timely release of the soul, determined by actions based upon the life it had lived, death comes for it and sets it free.
For thousands of years, this cycle continued well, until it was apparent that even trapped within the shells, souls continued to hurt each other, and hearts began to fall to darkness constantly. Not able to withstand the pain, Life locked herself up in the middle of the universe, creating her own spiritual realm for her to abide in, her palace of creation, taking her secrets with her. It became deaths Job to ferry her beloved souls back to her, But how? Death was unavoidable, and was never late. How could it take souls back to their place of creation and still come for those whos time had ended? So he founded the GraveKeepers order, those sworn to protect and ferry released souls to Life's palace of creation.
Death gave them a pathway to walk the souls through so they could reach their final destination. He gave them scrolls and abilities, and codes to adhere to and live by. And finally, Death Chose one to bear the weight of his eyes, the Shi no gensō. This chosen one, The Death GraveKeeper, would be the leader of the GK order, and would be able to pass his legacy down once his own soul was released to the palace of creation. However, He was granted extended life as a backlash curse, and would only be able to move on once the new DGK was able to take him to Creation.
Until then, after his soul was released to wander by death, the former DGKs spirit would roam and assist in the training of the new DGK....It has been a millennium and 2 DGKs have been born.
The Gk order has moved several times and is now based in Twilight Town, in secret, un-involved with the affairs of the world itself. They use the peacefulness of the town itself as the perfect cover. 200 years ago was the passing of the 2nd DGK..And kanashimi, Is the third.

Current legacy of the 3rd DGK
Kanashimi's theme song: (its an english song because...I just like it to be honest >.<)
When kanashimi was born, he was given to his mother to hold. when he first opened his eyes, he temporarily paralyzed his mother on accident. such was the power of deaths eyes. from then on, his eyes were binded untill he was 6, and he was taught how to control the power within him. however, the Shi no gensō did not stop him from learning the Gk way, which normally begins at age 7.Because he was the future DGK, he began at age 3. and as uncliche as possible, He did it all..blindfolded.
He was a true genius like those Before him and a true heir to the DGK mantle. after the order removed the blindfold from the boy at six, the discovered that he had fully gained control of the Shi no gensō, and his eyes were a slivery grey. from there, kanashimi continued his traning under the watchful eye of his father and mother (who were both extremely proud at kanashimis progress.) and the guardian GK elders. He Learned to Master Sword fighting and is an avid believer of pacifism like the rest of the order.
Twice a year, he was allowed to go onto the surface, a number that had doubled to once a month with age. By age 15 he had completed his training and ready to set out into the universe by himself. This was a feat that only a DGK could achieve, most do not complete training until they are of at least 25 years of age, This was partially thanks to the help from the formers DGKs souls guidance and his own prodigious nature. However, he is not considered ready to lead the GK order OR ferry the former DGK to the next life, these tasks our still too important for one as in-experienced as kanashimi.
He is however, free to roam the universe, to ferry souls to Lifes palace of creation and fulfill his duty as a GK. He was equipped with his basic grave keeper scrolls and the DGK special scrolls, along with his own abilities. So kanashimi quest to understand the meaning of life, and death, and souls. He has been on this quest for four years now, and has only gained little knowledge about his role in the universe...
Role Playing Sample:
A lone Soul walked the lonely streets of twilight town. The city of the never setting sun stayed true to its name, and not much was going on. Trash bustled ocasionally on the decrepit streets. The Soul monotonously walked alone on the cobbled pathways, thinking solemnly to himself. It was in this very town that he had died..He was afraid he world never move on. He felt like nothing but phantom now. He didnt know what happened to his friends, he didnt know where to go, or what to do now that he was...this. What was this, it was more like his whole being was nothing more than a memory. The soul wanted this to be a Dream...so deeply. Was he allowed to feel, now that he was...dead?
"Of course We are. if we dont hang onto one feeling, its impossible not to lose ourselves...."A Boy of about 19 had appeared infront of the soul. He was sitting down, and wearing a black robe as tattred as death itself it seemd. he gave off the aura that was famlliar to the soul its self, the aura of death. The boy got up quietly and the soul hesitated, before confiding in this death boy:
"I...Cant...Why did this happen...."
Kanashimi stared at the soul with his sliver eyes, connecting spiritually with it.
"You know why, kanashimi said.
"this is the price, no, this is our destiny. we have no choice in the matter. We never did, it was how it was always meant to be to be...""What...are you?"
"I am calling out to you, Can you feel me Now?" With solemn judgement, kanashimi outstretched a hand and held the souls. He began pulsating with the Grave keepers holy light from the inside, a power granted to the order by death so long ago. It was apart of the ritual that helped ease troubled souls.
Kanashimi felt the souls unease at the thought of passing on, which was what the holy light was meant to instill.
"Its gone you know, theres no reason for you to stay... No reason for you to try any longer, your heart, is not yours anymore But, We can still belive, We can still belive in ourselves. We can hold onto those links...I am like you, but unlike you, I have no more darkness, It took root in our hearts, But now, We are free to follow whatever we belive in. "I" am free..and now, you ...Are free..."
With those words, The souls lingering will and spirit faded into the light that filled kanashimis heart..watching from a distance, finally free of darkness. It then ascended heaven wards, picking up speed greatly as it began its long travel to the palace of creation....
Kanashimi looked up, and let out a long sigh.
"Man! that was a Drag, im really not cut out for that emotional drama. " with a heaving sigh, kanashimi looked down at his travel shattered GK robes.
Need to Find some new clothes, kanashimi thought.
how are girls going to respond to this style? "Well I am in twilight town so...might as well check out the local vendors.."
Kanashimi continued to wander the streets of twilight town, trying to smile at the random passerby that gave him awkward looks at the condition of his clothes. Literally, it looked like he had just been thrown down a mountain. The DGK robe wasn't exactly the apex of style after that soul releasing last week....
Kanashimi finally found a clothing store, brightly lit and welcoming. It was called 'the clothed beggar'. Kanashimi let out an open laugh. Someone had to be pulling his strings, because a 'beggar' was exactly how he looked at the moment. Walking inside, he was almost hit in the face at least a dozen times with "SALE" signs that were hanging low from the ceiling ahead. The store had a blue type of decor, and the styles were actually pretty good, very cool. kanashimi picked out a white fedora (For special occasions) and a street hat that he he would wear over a grey bandanna. He also picked up a new undershirt that was white and a graphic button up t-shirt to go over it. To finish it all up he grabed a half length street jacket to go over it all. For pants he grabed white and black two layer baggy jeans and some 'Rox-force' sneakers. He brought the clothes to the receptionist, a cute looking woman with long brunette hair in her 20's(and she looked bored out of her mind, reading the local magazine). Kanashimi politely asked her where the dressing room was and without looking up she pointed behind her. Getting his clothes on and throwing out the old ones(He could always get a new Robe later ~ as long as he survived the high elders lectures to him about respecting the GK orders attire), kanashimi stepped outside of the room and blatantly asked the receptionist
"How do I look?"With and annoyed look on her face she turned around swiftly and began to say
"How should i know Mist-" but she stopped abruptly and started to blush
"you look ok i guess" she said shyly, not looking kanashimi in the eye, her cheeks clearly red.
With a sly smirk, kanashimi walked to the front of the counter and payed for the clothes with some of the munny the soul had happened to drop before he...left..That thought stung at kanashimi. it was up to him to ferry souls to the next world, and finish his GK journey and find the meaning of the universe, not to flirt with random strangers. Jeez, that sounded like something his father would say exactly. But alas, it was true, even if they were cute strangers....No kanashimi shook that thought out of his head.
"See ya cutie, ive got places to go and people to see, ciao."With a smile kanashimi turned and walked out of the store and out into the twilight beams of the forever setting sun.
"alright now for my Ride...."Pulling from under his shirt the cross that The GK order had Given him, kanashimi raised it to his lips and spoke softly into it.
"father, show me My destiny" the cross glowed blue and let out a high pitched ring with a single beat. It slowly faded out as it travled into the distance.
kanashimi continued to look at the red horizon as he waited, but then got a better idea, and began looking around. Within 20 minutes, kanashimi was upon the fabled clock tower of twilight town, taking in the vast hue of colors from the magnificent sky of twilight town.

Do you guys have Hp bars? or do you just use a general sense of how much damage was taken? (I could totally score you guys a KH style HP bars code but uhm...yeah..off topic ;D )
I have a gummi ship designed for use of the DGK to travel around to different worlds, but I wont post it unless Its O.K to do So
