In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Oho, Arls, quite a mouth you've got on you.~" A chuckle escaped from the Demented Shot, and the Kitsunes at his side seemed slightly amused, themselves.
He moved forward casually, taking his time about this mission so it wouldn't end before he wanted it to. Arlene and Even had already entered the castle; Seed was now on the scene, looking a bit cocky today, and Dilan--well, Braig didn't really care what Dilan was doing. His Kitsunes raced forward after numbers IV and XII, the heads on their tails growling with excitement and anxiety. Braig was having a difficult time keeping his own excitement in check, but he proceeded with a smile and a calm, composed gait, his gloved hands shoved into his pockets. The Old Man had ascended to his perch on the top floor of the tower, and Braig had every intention of being the first one there.
As he was about to set his foot down on the final step leading up to the first floor of the Tower, vibrant ovals of light formed on the floor. The Demented Shot scrambled back a few steps, staying well away from these brilliant lights that must have been the doing of the Old Man. His Kitsunes, still inside, scrambled out of the way, but before any of the four had time to check and see if they were safe or not, huge columns of light burst up from the floor. Braig found himself out of the line of fire, thankfully, but he sensed that at least one of his lackeys perished from one of the blasts. The lights remained for a few seconds before fading back out of existence. He cared little for Even and Arlene, for he knew that those two could definitely take care of themselves. Of the three Kitsunes that entered, only one remained.
The Heartless gritted his teeth and sped in, his figure blurring as he did. Darkness encompassed one of his arms, and he made preparations to flood this room with the blackest night he could. Perhaps they would do best to take this Tower one floor at a time. These was, what, five of them? Child's play. Their combined darkness would override the brightest light.
I just hope the others aren't going to decide to be dumb asses, today... Keybladers need special attention, after all.
[[xD I hope that's sufficient enough.]]

Like an evil satanic witch being basted in holiness, Arlene shrieked and whipped away from the beams of light. Her right arm was nearly gone hacked away by light's sting. Her eyes darkned in a hiss to call out to more darkness to coax her. While darkness extruded to replace it, the Heartless continued to bolt up the stairs; although her eyes had spots flickering before her, she relied on the scent of his heart to direct her. Her sight was restored as Braig coated the floor in blackness. They would get and provoke nothing if they didn't move; so regardless of how many blasts of light would be hurtled her way Arlene didn't hesitate in going forward.
The stairs continued on but before her was a mysterious blue portal. Now that she looked around there were eery cool tone larger orbs about floating about the place like bundles of stardust.
"It seems we have no choice. Oh well...we'll just ravage everything we cross like a plague," parting her hands, she called onto darkness before seeping through.
Dilan's eyes looked up curiously at the tower; his neck straining from looking up at the tall structure for too long. He felt Braig and Seed's presence nearby but he ignored the two troublemakers. Why was he so fascinated with this odd looking building? He was so drawn to it, like a magnet. He wanted this tower for himself...for the Dark XIII.
A small smirk escaped from his lip and his eyes lit with pure excitement. He wanted to brawl with the old geezer more than ever and take claim over the tower. He knew, however, that he can't do it himself. He'll have to work with...his comrades. He hated that Arlene and Braig were here. Those two would just only take the fun away.
He suddenly came back to reality when a bright and dreadful light blinded his sight. He quickly put his hand over his eyes to shield them from the wicked light. He heard a shriek as his smirk grew to a wide grin. He knew it belonged to that bitch, Arlene. He couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle at Number XII's pain. 'She deserves it, that good for nothing wench.'
As the light faded from existence he strode forward inside the tower and climbed the long, spiral stairs. It was his time to shine! That old man would beg for mercy soon. He almost laughed at the idea of seeing the geezer bowing to them; begging them to spare his life. This was all too amusing.

((And the mysterious figure comes into play. No worries guys, this is all in good shape.))
So many Heartless...
But only one of them was actually dangerous. The others? Small-fry's. And the deadly one was already injured. Why would the leader of this organization send so many weaklings to attack somebody as strong as Yen Sid? It seemed... asinine, at best. Like sarcasm. He had so many minions to throw at Yen Sid, he didn't even bother determining whether they were apt for the situation or not.
Four inside. Even, Arlene, Dilan, and Braig. In their respective places.
A figure cloaked in black stood in the doorway, looking into the main chamber, watching the Heartless sprint up the stairs. Until that moment, his Heart made absolutely no sound. But at that point, it was too late to do anything. They were cut off from backup outside of the tower, and their vision went black. Easy enough to do, now they would be susceptible to attacks. The figure moved.
The floors, once covered in shadows, were immediately released. They were clean, the glowing remnants of Yen Sid's magicks still well in place. That meant that the light would come very soon... And the Darkness went up in front of the beings.
Arlene was alone, traversing through the tower via the blue portal, and a black wall of emptiness blocked the rest of the members from doing anything. The figure down below looked up, its face still hidden, at the Heartless. Did they want to attack him, when he stood only inches away from the light beams that could erupt easily from the floor?
The mysterious figure wouldn't let them coat it with shadows again. No... They were stuck between a wall and a.... very painful death.
(The gate is closed for the time being. The shadows are immovable, most likely due to the stranger's expert handling of the element. Arlene has passed through but everybody else was just traversing up the stairs.
The floor is blank once more, susceptible to Yen Sid's magics.)
((I could attack a different target, it just seemed more logical to attack the person who was alone. XD If Seed is disposed of, we might need to remove him from the area for the time being or at least have Mysterious Stranger incapacitate him for a time, as to legitimately move him to safety/ remove him from the thread.
(( I'm going to officially call Seed booted. Ellie's been playing his character in one of his and Rook's threads for a bit, too. Even if he does pop back in, his past record kinda indicates him sticking around is unlikely.
Continue as if he hasn't entered yet, all. The charrie-Seed's presence hasn't had much impact yet anyway. If Seed truly decides to come back and stay for a bit, and wishes to rejoin the thread, he will likely be able to have his character reenter. -sigh- No point in wasting posts on someone sporadically MIA. ))
A very important modification indeed! The mysterious stranger is instead INSIDE of the tower, at the doorway, on the other side of the white-orbed flooring. The shadows are gone and have traveled in front of the blue gateway, preventing entry.))
More were seeping in, like dredges of shadow lengthening as the sun sets. Now there were four inside his home. As he had invited them.
Eyes closed countless stories above, Yen Sid sensed rather than heard the shrieks of pain as his orbs of light struck their blow. Still the feminine creature carried on. She had passed through the portal to the next level before a newcomer arrived on the scene and, to his curiosity, blocked the shadows before it. Extraordinary Heartless behavior. Unless the mind of Yen Sid deceived him, the being had blinded the others. . . and cleared the way for Light.
The ancient sorceror breathed deeply, and the starry, orb-like remains of his last attack began to glow. They pulsed minimally as they waited, a silent white trap behind the four Heartless.
On the floor above, the blonde was making her way across a broader staircase. Yen Sid's brow furrowed ever so slightly. The silver walls of the inside of the Tower began to run like liquid, streaming down to the floor. A bright shape was forming at the top of the steps, above the Heartless and before the next portal. There the flow of starlight condensed. Within moments a large, blindingly silver animal stood at the platform. It shook its starry mane and roared.
In a few bounding leaps, the lion of Light charged down the stairs.
On the level below, a deep voice spoke, resonating in only one mind - that of a shadowy figure, made of darkness but fighting the others of his brethren.
Dark one, spoke Yen Sid in mind. Why would a Heartless deter its own? Answer in thoughts, not words, unless it is your intention for the others to hear you.
Against the oranges and purples of the horizons here in the lanes between the Worlds, the scenery surrounding the tower was often so serene. Halfway between the Light and Dark sat this lonely piece of property that nigh no one could get to, but was a meeting point between both Realms. For this, Ansem had to have it. A secondary haven for his growing masses. Either a rallying point of a fallback spot, should hostilities on either front become too bothersome. And against a united Dark XII, allies at the ready, no force could be strong enough to take it. Submitting the tower to the Darkness to reshape it, or to decimate it and start again; that was yet to be seen.
Another portal opened just outside the yonder-reaching spire, and Ansem made his entrance. No glorious foray into the battle to trumpet his return. No coy words to disarm his enemy or embolden his Heartless compatriots. He required nothing more on this night than what he had already attained. The bonus of Yen Sid's tower would certainly be a plus, though.

Arlene had raced up the steps and into the portal. Even and Dilan were both inside, now. The Kitsune at Braig's side whimpered softly. Someone else was coming. Yellow eyes peered towards the door to see a figure, identity hidden. The heart of the being was quiet, yet there was something definitely off. Off. The shadows quivered. A haze of black began to dominate the Demented Shot's sight. There was a movement of the darkness they had called forth, now making its way toward the portal where Arlene had exited. Footsteps. This figure wasn't just anyone. His mastery of darkness...
Is it... a Heartless?
Braig wouldn't dare step toward the figure. The Kitsune beside him growled, sensing a slight increase in light. He didn't express much concern for this, however. In his gloved hands, dual arrowguns appeared. Scent and sound directed them to the figure that just entered. Should the stranger move again, he'd find that getting shot was not a pleasant experience.
There was more movement. The heaviness of darkness. In his mind's eye, the marksman could see the newcomer's approach. Him.
"Master Ansem."
"Braig. Report. How fares the siege?"
The Kitsune made a rough growl by Braig's side as if to answer for its master. A light-hearted smirk curled into the Heartless's lips. Oh, where to start? You tell me to come HERE instead of letting me finish up picking on Icy, make me deal with smart-mouthed Heartless AND Dilan... and then the old Keyblade Master runs off and hides at the top of this damned tower and doesn't let me at least have a swing at him... Oh, and then I'm blind, too. Let's not forget that.
"Just swell, sir. Arls is upstairs and the Old Man's somewhere above her. Gotta say, though, this jackass is pissing me off." Braig gestured toward the mysterious figure half-heartedly. The light was still looming around, but it wouldn't amount to too much harm in comparison to the pillars from earlier.

Nose flaired to sniff out that blasted luminous heart encased in a wrinkled old body of a stubborn wizard; she shouldn't had expected anything else. Looking backwards, her brows furrowed to find that no one followed her through the portal.
"What the hell is taking them so long...tch they'll meet me at the top. Now for that old man..."
Taking a step forward, she commenced to zip up the stairway. Her slim brows furrowed into a frown, while her skin tingled at the present of light. She snorted at the seeing it mold into a crafty form of a kitten on steriods, "Hmm...ready to play..."
Twitching her fingers, she made sure her claws were ready, "Fine, let's damn play..."
She began running at the beast head on, while she was eight stairs away, which were diminishing by the moment, she outstretched her hand with a yell as a black dome descended on it enforcing gravity. She didn't need to snuff out the damn thing, but just hold it back long enough to reach that portal.
Well, magician, the figure whispered back through whatever connection Yen Sid had created. You're not the only one who has a problem with Xehanort. The mysterious figure stared at the staircase, where a new presence had entered the battlefield. The thick smell of Heart wafted from the gray figure, the beams of light awaiting the Heartless to re-enter the new battlefield. You don't know me and I don't know you, but we have a common enemy who has taken from us. And I think it's time I straightened out what side I was on anyways.
Ienzo watched The Seeker of Darkness, very alert. He was confident that his signature was invisible to all, minus the magician, who seemed to be almost omnipresent. If there was one person he feared on this battlefield it was that man. Nevertheless, he would not let fear prevent him from turning the tide. He'd made a promise...
That he'd be back, right?
Therefore, he was pulling all the tricks. If Ansem were to attack, he'd get a Zantetsuken to the back. Or the face. Ienzo wasn't really concerned over what direction he hit the Heartless. He'd been practicing it for a long time now and had finally gained some experience over it. This master of shadows wouldn't be rendered breathless by it.
Magician, I am doing my best to separate them, but the walls I have set up require concentration. The most difficult one in my opinion is through now, and she's yours to take care of. In the meantime, Xehanort is here, and we are royally screwed if he starts in on this. Ienzo had a foot in the metaphorical shadows, awaiting the moment to disappear. Ansem's Shadow would be around here somewhere, and if Ienzo saw his presence in light or shadow he'd be out of there. He honestly felt he could take the Shadow one-on-one, but that wasn't generally how Ansem worked. He would most likely use the Shadow to keep track of his enemy, and then close in as the Shadow provided a distraction, or prison. Both of which Ienzo would not let happen.
The mysterious figure raised a hand as the enemies' blindness faded. He was prepared for ranged attacks, his hand raised to form a shield if the need arose. It was taunting, in a way. The more they concentrated on him, the less they could attack the black wall that lay in front of the portal. Shadows could only take so much brunt force; nothing was unbreakable. And if they tried to attack Ienzo at close range they would find themselves at a large disadvantage. Ienzo had done his best to avoid using his abilities around them (the only time he could remember being to form a coffee cup at base) and had Sin, his weapon, ready for battle in the event that they managed to get close.
Ansem nodded once at Braig's report, a frown appearing on his face, "And Arlene is already inside? Alone? This will not do... together, the Master would pose no threat. Alone, he will easily pick us apart."
He raised a hand, snapping his finger. "Come, Guardian."
At his beckon call the massive Heartless appeared behind him, it's muscled form arching and stretching, ready once more to be set free upon the whims of his Master. Claws danced about on it's large hands, aching for bloodletting, and it convulsively twitched it's head towards the Seeker of Darkness.
"You know what to do. Protect our kind. And provide me a door."
With a mighty roar, the slipped into a pool of shadows on the grassy knoll below them. The air was still for a moment until the sound of a crashing was heard overhead.
The Guardian reappeared through a Dark portal in the air, using it's body, mass, and dark tolerances to explode from the doorway from the shadowed realm, crashing like a battering ram against the top windowed terrace of the castle, battering at it with it's arms for a moment, before slipping into another portal and repeating it's assault again.
Attacks from the outside, from the inside, from below and above. The old Master was formidable, but he could not last forever. Not against this many forms of invasive opposition. Ansem would have his tower, and if he could not, he would tear it down.
Oh how a vantage point over both realms would please him... but to rob his enemy of one while walking away with nothing? Just as well.
(( Ienzo can hear the bolded navy thoughts. Colored but thinner are the sorcerer's own. ))
Upon the immediate darkening of the shadows heralding the Seeker, Yen Sid's chest rose in a deep, slow breath, and his eyes opened. So it would be tonight that the Tower would fall. With the arrival of their king, there was no doubt about it now. In a few moments he would perform the steps to tear his own towering fortress to the ground - along with pocket of the universe he had created for it to reside in.
On one of the endlessly short hallways below him, the great silver lion streaking downwards struck the blur of darkness emitted by the ascending Heartless. Their collision was a powerful one, from which the creature did not recoil unscathed. His downwards inertia slowed by the gravity, and the lion was stalled. However, there was a great burst of light upon impact, one that Yen Sid knew had affected the Darkness. The lion would not manage to prevent her from escaping to the next portal, but it would travel on to the other stragglers making their way up the stairs, assisting the one who had turned on his own. The opponent it was abandoning would be weakened enough by the time Yen Sid himself decided to descend his own stairs.
In the mind of the hooded figure, Yen Sid's voice had begun to reverberate again.
Traitor of your kind. . . your intentions are true, that much I can tell. And indeed, I have one or two of your old company ensnared. But you are being played the martyr in vain. Your leader has already begun to make the walls of my home tremble, and before he can taint it much further I will have destroyed this tower. I warn you this once: much Darkness will be eliminated during the descent.
The opportunity was here, in this foolish siege these beings of shadow could only lose. Unlike the true worlds, the realm of the Mysterious Tower was of his creation. It held ancient power, but with no Heart of its own, its fall was inevitable. . . And as that time should become tonight, I will hasten its progress. These years of proximity were convenient, but Twilight Town will never be entirely out of my awareness.
An immense crash sounded from outside his enchanted windows. Yen Sid turned his head to see the great mass of darkness assault the fortifications on the moonlit terrace before rapidly disappearing into another portal. The great sorcerer rose, swept his crescent moon hat from where it had been laying the whole while on the desk, restored it to his head, and strode to the door leading out of his study.
Books were falling from the walls. A glass encasement of a skull shattered, and a thousand shards accompanied its plummet to the ground. Lesser Dark one. . . it would be in your best interest to flee.
[/color][/b]
Yen Sid felt the Darkness pulsing around his home and within. His energy was diverged into three factions then: the lion, which would remain barely strong enough to hold at bay any non-sentients that reached the upper floors (the orbs had disbanded); the fortifications around his Tower, of which he knew his hold was limited, and thus he would have to act quickly with his third and final faucet of his power; his own self, which had just opened the portal door to greet the hatred of a female-form Heartless.
