In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

Whop! So I'm not the only one who's noticed this! That's a huge relief, because I thought I was the only one who noticed this, or didn't ignore it as I was starting to think.
But, yes, I agree with Leon. Anyone should be able to defeat anyone if they play their cards right, and if the canons' players keep the fact that originals aren't supposed to be useless insects next to their big powerful official characters, there should be no problems.
Also, keep in mind a character's background and what they're best in.
Just as an example, my character Max went through 3 years of hard military training on a world that has been at war with itself for thousands of years, and then fought for three years after that against large hoardes of heartless that had been drawn to their world by way of a fallen God. In terms of base fighting ability(not taking into account powers and such) he has the experience in hand-to-hand to easily trump Sora in a fight. Adding in the powers is what makes Sora stronger, because Max is only able to manipulate water, whereas Sora has his magic and drives and limits, etc.

Exactly. Experience trumps everything but adaptivity. Roze went through 118 years of training. 50 of materialization, 40 of learnng control, and 28 of mastering and creating abilities.
Simple know how can even trump ability. I know some characters that cna use their environment itself to get around obstacles. Serif's characters, Lily, basically negates powers when they're flung at her. She's not physically strong or anything, yet she can still use that to face anyone she might need to, I'm sure.
It's all about strengths and weaknesses. There's only a gap because some people don't know how to accept that circumstances happen. That could solve the problem right there-- simply accepting that you can be beat and that there is always someone more powerful, smarter, and resourceful than your character.
Smarts have nothing to do with abilities, either, in my opinion...

all right we're getting off topic even though i started it sorta. Either way, pack to proposing ideas for what should be worked on. Though we made an excellent point about character balance
We were talking about experience, Leon. There are some characters who have the experience in their backstory that gives them a good edge against a lot of characters, not necessarily ability.
And I agree people need to keep In mind that Anyone can lose, most especially the players of canon characters. I've just kind of seen the mentality that canons cannot lose to a 'new' original character, which isn't true at all and is vastly unfair.
Anyway......I think this discussion kind of seems to be getting off topic. Maybe we should cut it off before it gets too far.

*cuts off* xD
Don't worry about talking too long about something like this. Some of these ideas are very big things and need to be talked over so that we get a feel of how important they are. Should we move the power gap to the number 2 spot on our list due to its importance?
And, I just have to reiterate how relieved I am to know I wasn't the only one who saw that problem.I was beginning to think I was just imagining it. XD
Okay, so I'm dropping in in the absolute middle of everyone's conversations, and I'm being nagged to get off the computer, so sorry if this post sorta.. fails.. but anyway:
"--Narrowing power gap between canons and originals"
I believe this pretty much hinges on the character itself.
Take Era, for example. She is a very powerful character, and she was still accepted. While I do moderate this power in my RPs, she still has the potential to be very powerful.
I think this more boils down to how the RPers portray and moderate their powers. While, as I said before, it depends on the character and their abilities... A little creativity goes a long way. =D

It's not that Era it's also the fact that most of the people with canon characters believe they are stronger than all the OC's just because they are canon.

I here with roze, and also in the fact that a lot of OCs are getting their powers suppressed a little to much right from the start. Sure, they can build in-game, but they start with a severe handicap that can cause their death in the hands of an inexperienced player if forced into a fight with a canon, especially one of the more powerful ones.
Which ties in with character faults. Everyone has them, and anyone who doesn't is a badly written character. Example; Rook: Wields the Light as a weapon, awarded a keyblade to use in-game, corrupted towards darkness. Three powerful elements, if not the MOST powerful, in Kingdom Hearts.
His fault? He has NO FREAKING CLUE how to use them, or why he has them. They're tools to him, not abilities or weapons, hell the kid hardly knows how to do anything other than brawl and streetfight, his only saving graces in combat are that he knows how to adapt and improvise, and he doesn't quit unless you put him down for good.
I mean, in KH2, Sephiroth is nigh-unbeatable unless Sora is around lvl80 or so, but people can still beat Sephiroth with practice at mayb 60-65? The power gap between Canon's and OC's is similar to that. You probably don't have a super chance, but one exists, if you persist and keep thinking on your toes.
@roze:............Really? You want to fight again? Cause personally, I'm tired of it. Say all you want. Sage already threatened me with being banned. I'm not continuing this. ----------------- @leon: Really? Cause I doubt that I was asked if Sephiroth could kill my OC Zack.
