In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

I'm a bit confused on certain elements of the overall plot, like, what are the goals of these different factions right now? Where are the main cannon characters? What is the overall point in the current (i'll call it this just for simplicity) story arc? I'm trying to insert myself as best I can, but because I realize some people have school issues and can't post often, I'm left looking through the gaps in their posts trying to draw the dots together. To ya'll who've most definitely been on here longer than me, this underlying theme seems pretty clear, but the main things I want to know is:
Radient Garden: Did the battle mentioned in some threads I've been perusing ever take place? Or is still up and coming? Or is this just a lull in the fighting?
The World that Never Was: What is happening there, as it seems to be the focal point of the plot? I realize you want only people of darkness there, and are trying to make it as uncluttered from any newbies as possible, but it does make it hard for any of the rest of us to become even a footnote in the "big picture."
If all you do is hang out there while we scramble around trying to figure out what the heck is going on, we really aren't accomplishing much, and I find it hard to be involved in any way. I know, I'm new and completely confused and backwards, but even a small smidgen of enlightenment to what is the dark attic of my brain would be greatly appreciated. Whether you have tryouts, or pick randomly or what I don't know, but I would like to.
Many thanks to whatever meaningful info anyone can give me,
Firemuse

I decided to add just in case the above wasn't clear. Sorry, sometimes I can run in circles, I'm lways berated for that. But what I'm trying to say is, you have two factions: Heartless and Nobodies. They're at war in this world only dark weilders can get to, or the Cannon Light users and their trusted allies because they're just that good and if the light users couldn't get their it would be boring. But once people are there, it's hard for the rest of us to get there because of the absorbed battles taking place. Maybe this isn't true and I don't know what the heck I'm talking about, but I'm finding it very hard to find someone who even RESEMBLES a cannon character.
Not that I want to suddenly demand rights to be a unique figure inside the plot, but even a chance to talk with a cannon character (Who the plots revolve around for the most part. ) Would be a experiance. Sorry for the ton of info, but it basically boils down to: I don't know where I am, or where the main people are who can tell me where I am.
Don't worry, furemuse, you're not the only one. Lol i've been on this site since about the beginning of summer, and I'm still lost on current events(for the most part). @_@
Although, I do agree on the good guys essentially just running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Lol they need some unification.
Yes, king Mickey is supposed to be the leader of the good guys. He's supposed to be gathering an 'army' of keyblade wielders. However, the former admin(now known as sapphire) used to play him. Idunno if she still does, but if she does, she isn't doing anything with him at all.
And its not like that would help your situation anyway. Its an army of keyblade wielders. You'd have to get a keyblade for will before he could get in on it. *shrug*
I never want Will to have a Keyblade... well, not for a loooong while. I do have a plan for him revolving a Keyblade... I wanted him to find Mickey, but I suppose Sora, Riku, or Roxas would do just as well. I intend for him to have been "chosen" by a keyblade, but as soon as he tries to call it, it breaks into shards that are too incohesive. Meaning he can never access this "broken" keyblade. I plan to have this seem to prove to him that he can never tackle the Infinity Drive Form. Of course, this is very far in the future, but I planned to have his "Broken Awakening" Occur in resonance with another keyblade. His ultimate goal is to defeat Sephiroth. For that, he needs to master the Infinity Form, which he can't without irreversably destroying his body. Thus, he wants the Keyblade to allow him to use the Form successfully. Ergo, I can never let him have a Keyblade until absolutely necessary. I'll join/help the army of Keybladers with just plain old Will. I don't need a Keyblade to fight on the side of light.
Nope. Not at all. Lol but, even gaining a keyblade will take a LONG time. Which brings Me to a piece of advice: don't create future plot ideas for your character around them having a keyblade. My plans should Max ever get a keyblade? Use it to develop backstory. That way I don't really lose anything if he doesn't get it. If he DOES get it, then I'll develop plot around it. Lol
Anyway, yeah, the biggest current thing I can think of eight now to help you is that the Dark XII are on the rise. I mean, they're accomplishing a LOT more than what I can tell of the Organization. In fact, I haven't seen any real discussion of the organization's plans at all since i've gotten on here. The only thing that they've done is expel Marluxia for starting a fight against the Dark XII when Xemnas wasn't in on the attack. *shrug*
Yeah, nothing's set in stone. Thanks for the advice. I suppose I'm just wishing, but the "Broken" idea has merit... Whatever, maybe I'll have Will tango with a Dark XII person. Just as a test of his abilities as a fighter, and how well I can use him in battle... Who knows? Whatever the case, this looks to be fun.
Radiant Garden: It is yet to happen, but the seeds have been planted. Check some threads at RG to find out more about the Dark XII´s advances, specifically Ienzo´s and Era´s threads.
World that Never Was: I believe it is restricted because it is actually a hidden world. In KHII, Sora started to learn about its existence all the way near the end of the game´s plot. And also, Organization and Dark XII members lurk in another world, so there are other ways to slowly enter the plot.
For example, there was a thread at Disney Castle (which died) some time ago where Maleficent tried to take over the world. It was open for some time, and I got the chance to get Mikael inside the thread before they closed it. He met the three keyblade weilders, two OC keyblade weilders, King Mickey and other characters. Knowing these people has actually been helping me develop my character´s story and get him slightly into the plot. So what you need to do is keep your eyes open for threads like that.
Now, sumdood´s right. The Dark XII have been really active lately compared to Organization XIII and Mickey´s "League of Justice Keybladers". So yeah, there´s another way of getting your character in the plot. Also, yeah, getting a Keyblade would be really difficult, and the last contest took place a few months ago, so I believe one will not take place in some time from what I have heard.
Glad to be helpful, feel free to flame, bash, etc Shun
Thanks shun, that's a really big help. Thanks for all your advice guys, my character is in Radient Garden right now, so I'll be sure to keep him there and try to get involved. I like being involved, and I normally can post often, long as school doesn't totally become overbearing. So thanks again for the help.
Ah, yes, but what you haven't said, shun, is that it's very difficult to find those threads like "taking over the castle". You can never tell where a thread will be going, who'll be in it, and by the time you can tell it'd be a good one to get in, it's already closed. XD
Lol, where that one was an easy target. Maleficent + Disney Castle = Mickey showing up. That was one of my main reasons to join ^^. But yeah, you have a point.
Yes, the Organization are all but dead, not physically, simply by way of non-activity. Mickey is the same way. As much as I love the folks on this site, I fully believe those key characters need to be handed off to someone who pays attention and participates in the goings-on.
At current, the Dark XII is the only faction that has a motive and activity to pack it up. Ienzo is scouting Radiant Garden and Era, whom Ansem has inducted into the group as a blackmailed conscript, is working on sabotaging Tron to let the Heartless in.
Any and all Keyblade bearers are scattered and random. No true cohesion exists to bring them together.
Despite all indications of there being a good plot on the site, all that has transpired in recent months has been done by other parties and spawned from individuals doing plotting away from the central plot, which, for all intents and purposes, is stagnant.
Lol which is where mine and shun's plan comes in. lol (not a word about what it actually is, shun. Let 'em ponder!)
And about Mickey and xemnas, I agree, rook. I believe there should be an activity requirement for all canons(with a little relaxation for certain situations, but only to a certain point). I mean, without certain characters, the way the site's plot is set up, nothing big can happen.
Right now, the way it's looking is that the Dark XII will conquer all the worlds and plunge everything into an age of darkness.....lol
Actually, that doesn't sound like it'd be that bad an idea! Lol could make for ame interesting universal plot. lpl
