In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Okay, so I thought of one thing which might make the site easier, one thing which might be fun, and one thing which I think should be removed. But hey, its just a few suggestions.
1) Character Changes: Now this can be done in two ways.... One is make a new board, and people post up what they want changed, and a staff member can approve the edit for them so it doesn't break any rules. Two is to just have them make another post in their final profile thread stating what was changed, and what it changed from. That way they wouldn't have to re-post up the entire thread again and wait for it to get accepted before posting.
2) Relationship Trees: This is just a little fun thing that I know some people enjoy. It can keep track of current relationships that a character has with other character. It obviously isn't required, but some people really like these, and REALLY get into it. So it might be a fun thing they could have to do.
3) Character Limit: This is what I think should be removed. Personally, I don't see a reason as to why character's are limited. I can understand a limit on Canon characters, and possibly a limit on World Characters too, but a limit on the amount of characters one has just doesn't seem fair. If they want to play 23 characters on this site, and some how keep track of them and the threads they are all in, why limit them?
Like I said, these are simply suggestions and comments of my own. I RP on a lot of sites and am sort of taking from personal experiances when I speak here. But its ultimately up to the staff as to what they want to do.
EDIT: Code Gorilla has already answered my first two. I just need the last one answered.

The thoughts of someone whose opinion matters not:
1. This kind of happens already, it just isn't really stated or talked about in the rules or profile discussion.
2. I like this one. I thought about making one a few days ago at work because I was bored. It would be kind of fun to see where characters are connected and how.
3. I don't think the limit should be removed, but I think the total number would do well if it was raised a notch or two. It would help bolster some of the ranks and tighten up World activities.
Alrighty, here's my responses. Semi-official, what with me being staff, but not having actually discussed this with any other staff.
1) If you mean tracking in-thread growth of a character, you can already do this any number of ways: edit your final profile, post something after your final profile detailing their progression, what have you. As long as it's only in-thread stuff, you're good to go. If you mean retconning a profile, well, this is tricky. The problem is that it would be easy to get a relatively simple character by the mods, then crazy retcon him or her into an Overpowered Mary Sue of DOOM!TM This is less than desirable.
2) You may, if you wish, post a relationship tree already. I'm not certain if they would go in Creations or in Common Chatter, though. Keep in mind the double posting rule, and keep everything necessary in one post, in as much as that's possible. As for a specific section of the forum for Relationship Trees, I'll bring it up with the staff.
3) Here's the thing with the character limit. We limit World and Canon characters so that everyone has the ability to get one, because there are some who would take many characters if there was no limit. We limit OCs so that the site doesn't become too watered down with them, and so that this still resembles a Kingdom Hearts role play. At least, these are the reasons I've come to understand.

The new Historians role should take care of this nicely.

1) What I was meaning by character changes is things that are developed throughout RP. For instance, learning new abilities, working on previous abilities to increase their strength, adding new weapons, changing personality, appearance, history, and all sorts of things like that.
2) The relationship trees thing could be made into another board. Some double posting, I can understand, especially if you want all of your characters to be in individual posts, but not individual threads. Regardless, I think that it could be a fun thing to do.
3) I said that I understood the limiting of Canon and World characters, but not a specific character limit. For instance, if we kept the 4 that we have now, it could be set up along the lines of 1 canon characters, 3 world characters, and then any original characters you would like. To say you don't want the site watered down with OC's kinda seems to be taking away from the originality and creativity of the person, as well as adding for a chance for Original characters to play more of a part in the site's plot, which they should be allowed. That is what I was talking about.
1) As mentioned, you can already do that. Just edit your final profile as appropriate.
2) Sounds fine, I posted something in the staff board to try and get some discussion going.
3) Honestly, I'm telling you what I've been told. I don't particularly agree with it (I don't really see a need for OC limits, for pretty much the reasons you've given), but I have no power to change it on my own.

Alright then, Numbers 1 and 2 have been answered. But as it is now, If you are incapable of doing something about it by yourself, this is still open for the Admins to discuss. But thank you for your help, Code Gorilla. I do appreciate it.

Please excuse me for the double post, but I am wanting to get this looked at. I also thought of another thing that could go along with the relationship trees. The 2 suggestions that need to be looked at are below.
4) Thread Tracker: This is a simple concept, and easy way for people to see all the threads that a person is in/been in in the past. It also allows for people to keep track of what threads they are in, and in the event of an absense of some sort, they can remind themselves of everything their characters had done in the past. This has also been shown to work in the other RP sites that I have been in. Sometimes they get annoying to keep track of, but that is all up to the creator of the thread and no one else.
Again, you can do what you please with the thread tracking. Hell, I mentally keep track. That's easy enough for me. I know I need to update character histories and such. And even just keep a good timeline bullet-note thing in a separate document right onto my computer. Or post whatever in the common chatter.
But the reasons listed above for the character limit, regardless, still stands. It also prevents character squatting. Not everyone can handle that many characters and it just simplifies things. But mostly just prevents the character squatting.
