Use Darkness: Owen possess the ability to use darkness for different special abilities varying in difficulty. The abilities he can use at any given time is highly dependent on the amount of darkness he can use to power his ability. The fact that darkness is in everyone's heart which makes it easy to feed off of. By stealing the darkness of a normal human being's heart, he can almost use any of his moderate power usage abilities where he needs more for his others.

When drawing the darkness from someone, that person feels a great amount of stress as he has taken a part of you. This stress manifests in pain as well as a large amount of fatigue, usually causing bystanders to collapse or pass out. It lasts until he uses the darkness for a power or he releases it, though he can not hold a shadow for more then three posts. When the shadow returns, the individual still feels residual soreness and fatigue but no more pain. To take the darkness from someone, Owen must physically touch the individual and call the darkness to him. It is a simple grabbing motion but if he can not touch them then he can't draw from them. When the shadow is drawn it appears as a dark flowing orb in his hand. The darker it is, the longer he must keep physical contact to draw.

If Owen so chooses he can also draw darkness from heartless as they are purely such. When he draws from a small, weaker heartless it is destroyed but gives him the power equivalent of drawing from a normal human. Larger heartless are simply damaged from him drawing from them which generally makes them focus there attacks on him.

Owen general draws power from civilians because his drawing is resistible. If you can attack him or dodge him then he can not draw from you. Also the strong the darkness in someone's heart, the more difficult it is to draw. Evil individuals are less likely to have there darkness taken and it takes three times as long to draw from them.

Owen himself is greatly marked by darkness. If he eyes were not black they would most certainly be yellow. With such darkness in his heart, he makes a great source for drawing. He has become more resilient to it but he is still greatly fatigued by it. Anytime Owen is in possession of darkness greater them moderate, he is in a berserk fit of rage. This leaves him open to attacks as all his focus falls on hurting others.

Self drawing effects: Using his own shadow for his smaller powers is no big deal. If he uses his own darkness for small powers he feels pain but it is nearly unnoticeable except for shadow slip. This causes him great pain and takes him a post to recover where he can't use any of his powers due to searing pain. Using his own darkness for a moderate ability has the same effect and disables his powers for two posts while he recoups. For large powers, his powers are disabled for four posts as well as him being stunned and vulnerable for a post.

Powers he can use with his own darkness (small)

Dark Weapon: By drawing from a darkness within him, he can create a tangible weapon that he is proficient with. These weapons can only be used at a close range because if the weapon is thrown or dropped is disappears immediately in a puff of smoke. He can draw a weapon. He can use this ability anytime with no real effect because it requires so little darkness. These weapon last as long as he wants or until he releases it. The weapons he can create are a halberd, a short sword, a bladed whip (his favorite), and a rapier. The weapons have a sleek, seamless black design.

Draw shadows: This draws darkness from an individual around Owen making him harder to see . This does not make him quieter in anyway so he still must be careful.

Shadow Clone: By drawing from the darkness of his own heart, Owen can create an exact duplicate of himself that looks acts and fights exactly like he does. This duplicate is purely an illusion and can't do any harm but it is a good distraction technique. These clones respond to mental commands and dissipate as soon as touched. Being one of Owens favorite techniques, he is pretty good at it.

Shadow Slip: Owen can teleport, using his own darkness, for short distances. This is a very effective escape technique but it is also very painful to perform.

Powers requiring a moderate source of darkness

Shadow Restraint: Using the darkness in a person's heart, can physically restrain someone. From where the individual's heart is on their chest springs forth inky black tendrils that wrap up and hold the individual still. The stronger the darkness is in the individual the more effective the restraint is. The person is held in place as long as Owen maintains concentration. Those who are more comfortable with the darkness within them can easily escape of ignore the restraints. Also if light is shown on the restraints they retreat inside until it is gone or the power ends.

Cooldown: 4 post after releasing concentration

Worse Nightmare: By drawing from an individual's heart you make appear in front of them what they fear most. It is an illusion and it can't physically hurt them but it is a very effective distraction technique.

"Force Their Hand": Using the darkness in a person's heart, Owen can force them to do things they normally wouldn't do. the inky tendrils from there heart wraps all of the individual's limbs so that he gains brief control over them. He can physically force an individual to perform an action. Individuals usually resist this control so attacks made are less accurate then normal.

Mass Dark Restraint: Works as a Stop spell but those how are comfortable with the darkness inside them have no issue ignoring it. Unlike Dark restraint, where the individuals can struggle or break out they are held completely still.

Old but Fit

While his not as young as he used to be as he has aged and had long nights to himself be began to take better care of himself. He can keep up for a while with the younger kids but his bad knee makes long confrontations more difficult.

Weapon:

Mercy: His kukri is serrated both sides with an intricate demon pictured on the blade while the pommel looks like vertebrae. He keeps this weapon in a shoulder scabbard.

Appearance:

Owen is a very lithe person which is not advantageous when you want use shadows. Though he is skinny he is still physically fit, especially for a person his age working out an hour almost nightly. In addition to always being dressed in fine clothing and his trench coat, he always wears a mask over face to cover the ritual scaring around his eyes. He keeps his blonde and greying hair well groomed and rarely out of place. With his mask removed, you can see that he once was very handsome but now with the large shadows under his eyes in addition to the scars making him look less appealing.

Personality:

He seemingly has happy demeanor about him at all times having a big toothy and bright white smile on his face most of the time. In truth, he no longer has any positive emotion at all but he simulates what he thinks is the appropriate for the situation. Living purely on shadows slowly ate away his happy emotions leaving nothing behind but the negative. He knows that acting on his thoughts in the open would cause him to be thrown out of society or arrested so he puts on a happy face. He is more then willing to take what he wants and the only real joy he still has is getting what he wants.

Original World: Obsorban - A planet where the humans there have learned to draw power from a source of there choice. The substance you choose to draw power from determines the amount of power you can get from it. The more obscure the substance, the more powerful its effects generally are. The society is a dictatorship led by a man who drew power from fear. When the heartless first attacked, the King gained more power then he had ever had before but lost it all as the world was consumed.

Current World: Twilight Town

History:

Owen was born into a broken family. His father never even stuck around long enough to find out that his mother was pregnant. Owen and his mother lived in small apartment on the outer fringes of the main city of Obsorban called Heath. His mother had to work two different jobs to get him into school with the ridiculous tuition that the kingdom charged. Owen was tormented mercilessly for not having a father. This caused him to take solace in libraries and his school work while others played outside. He continued through school glued to his studies and proved to be very intelligent even winning scholastic awards only increasing his torment. This continued through all of primary and secondary school but college brought change.

Through scholarships, working a job, and continued help from mom, Owen was able to get into university. When you reached the age of 18 in there society is when you had to choose your substance that you wanted to draw from and that is when Owen chose to pick darkness. So as he continued his studying at school he was able to experiment with his new powers quickly finding that he had chosen a good substance. He quickly found that he could use his power to to get what he wanted. He also quickly learned how painful it was to use this gift. This advantage allowed him to strive in university graduating Summa Cum Laude in the field of Engineering.

After getting out of school, went straight into the service of the king constructing road systems for the kingdom. He continued to survive and experiment using his powers to take advantage of others. Also around this time he realized that using these powers made it difficult to sleep. His long hours gave him time to play with his powers, learning to use it to move more quickly even shadow slipping from one building to the adjacent to deliver papers. He was quickly promoted for his incredible work ethic and was soon the head engineer on city planning. This raise allowed Owen to take care of his mother until he end of days.

Around the time his mother health started to decline he started to realize that his use of darkness had started to take a toll on him. He could no longer feel happy with a woman or get entertainment from television. He left his girlfriend at the time and retreated to his studio apartment. He was rarely seen outside of work. This is when he began to grow angry with the world, learning to use his powers in more hostile ways. He attacked his first victim stealing all there belongs and leaving them in the streets. After that moment and feeling good feeling for the first time in years he was never gonna go back.

A few years into his bad streak is when the heartless attacked. Called to fight with his people by the king, he did so admirable but they were unable to hold the tide back. His world was and the small remainder of his people were dropped in Traverse Town. Owen's hatred for the heartless led him to hunt them where ever he could and destroy as many of the them as possible but there was always more. As he continued his hunt he realized that the things he hated so much could be used to power his ability just as easily as for humans. He continued to take what ever he needed from no name venders and gained enough munny to easily get a residence. He now lives happily but daily checks the board and accepts any job that helps destroy heartless. He is also more then willing to accept more unsavory jobs if he hears of them. He often listens in bars and dark alleys for jobs as well.
