Helena lived on a world called Moonlit Lake. On this world existed a force called the SCARECROW which strived to eradicate all Heartless and potential Heartless from the world. Helena's father, who was the leader of this organization, disgusted her by his actions, and Helena promised to never turn out like him. Whenever she was accused of being a potential Heartless, her father was the one who carried out her punishment. However, Helena's father gave her his final goodbye instead, handing her his sword. The world fell to darkness afterward, and she was the only survivor. As she was fighting off the darkness, she discovered her pyrokinetic powers... A struggle followed and Helena woke up in Traverse Town four years ago.

(Traverse Town)

*Check

--As I was wandering around Traverse Town, I came across a boy covered in blood holding a dog who looked in pretty bad shape as well. Of course, my instinct to protect kicked in and I offered him a hand. I guess you could say it was kind of awkward at first, since I'm no social butterfly... but I was able to make fast friends with the boy, Hero. We're on our way to his destination so he can properly treat his and the dog's wounds without worrying about Heartless attacking. Funny enough though, they did... He showed me his powers, Kinesis and Stasis, and I showed him mine. I was thinking about sparring with him, but... haha, not now. So we continue on our path.

Hero's taken me to his apartment in the creepier part of town. His room is quite a contrast to his surroundings. It almost reminds me of my old home back on Moonlit Lake. We've fixed up the dog, but now it's him we need to worry about.

*A New World?

--Today's been a good day for me... Well, except the fact that I chose to ambush some Heartless out in the Second District. I managed to finish off the Shadows easily, but the Soldiers were a different story. One of them inflicted an injury on my leg... Oh, and I tripped over someone while trying to fight off the last Soldier. Needless to say, the Soldier's gone now... But that mysterious someone is gonna get a talking to.

The guy didn't even tell me his name. However, I did meet a boy named Legato... a song mage? Suddenly, we heard a shriek from the Third District. I hurried to invertigate only to find that the boy was near the point of over-exhaustion and he was surrounded by Heartless.

I fought off some Heartless, but I ended up exhausting myself. However, I did offer the others my help, even though I didn't want to. We're going to look for safety, I believe.

*A Leisurely Stroll

Okay, so I finally got a job at the Accessory Shop. Joooooy. I hate working there. I feel like I can't save people when I'm stuck inside a shop all day...

But something else happened. I started hearing my father's voice.

After that, Falsetto appeared in the shop and asked me about my world and where Legato was. I told him that I hated Moonlit Lake, which, of course, wasn't entirely true. Legato came in soon afterward with some guy named Anil. I don't necessarily like him... But who knows, really? I stormed out of the shop afterward and I got to thinking about this weird feeling that I have...

*Otherworldly Arrangements

After I got off one of my shifts, I headed over toward the door in the First District and got to thinking. Why do I hear my father's voice in my head? Where did it come from? His voice came again and told me that he was the embodiment of my darkness. He wants me to submit to the darkness inside of me. Hah, fat chance of that ever happening.

I did see a weird dude with green-hair. He was obviously drunk. However, Legato, Falsetto, and I managed to convince him in his stupor to cart us around the worlds. He seems familiar... I don't even think he told us his name, though...

*The Way I Dreamed You Were

After I packed my bags, I headed out for some unknown reason... I dunno... but I think I'm looking for Hero. I don't even know why... It's just this feeling I have...

That feeling was love. I never realized it before. I loved Hero. I found him that night and we kissed several times before parting ways. I hope that one day, I'll see him again.

*Unknown Soldier

On the way to meet the others for the trip, I ran into some guy in the Third District. He was about to be attacked by a Heartless, so I killed it for him. Apparently I'm losing my edge, because he killed a Heartless about to attack me.

*Blow the Candles Out

Well, it's time to say goodbye to Traverse Town. I'm not really sad to see it go... I hate this place. Truthfully, I don't know much at all about the people I'm leaving with, but... Maybe this trip will be worth it.

I found myself in Traverse Town after quite some time in a profound depression. I had no idea where I was going anymore... All I knew was that I wished to give up completely, right there, in the snow, with this little fire bird I created on a whim in my hands... And then, this girl comes up to me and asks to play. Soon after that, two other guys join in. They said their names were Vayne and Synthest. The girl started a snowball fight soon after they arrived and I introduced myself, and then, whaddaya know--here comes another girl!

(Twilight Town)

*One Step Behind

So I wounded up in Twilight Town. It looks almost exactly like Traverse Town, except it's perpetually sunset here. While I was walking down the street I ran into these enemies... They were white and tall, not like Heartless at all. They could think and plan ahead... but even though I was losing to them, a guy came in and started helping out.

I was able to slay one, and he slayed two. He told me the name of these weird creatures: Nobodies.

(Radiant Garden)

*Reminders

Well, I've landed in paradise. This place is like heaven, I swear. There's gardens everywhere... and it's just beautiful... I went to this ice cream shop and I tried out this ice cream called Sea-Salt Ice Cream. It's a light blue color and melts easily, but it tastes divine. It makes me want to go to the sea, believe it or not...

And then I met a boy named Saxen. I'm not even sure who he is exactly, but his eyes remind me of Hero. I felt comfortable around him because of that. He tried to take me to the gardens where there were fountains, but I started remembering the day I nearly drowned and he had to take me out of there. Ultimately, he made me feel better about it and we went back.

*I Belong To You

So we went back to the gardens, where I saw Hero again. I freaked and ran to him, right in the middle of everyone. In the middle of us was a huge fountain I had to run through, but I did so without a hitch. I ended up embracing Hero once more. Saxen came swiftly after me.

Or, at least I thought he did. He walked off soon afterward. I wanted him to stay, so I went after him. I had to thank him for helping me out. That's what friends do, right? He agreed to stay, at last, but I slipped up by revealing that my darkness was talking to me...

*Waking Nightmare

This dream has always been the same. I wake up by the lake in my own home world, and then I walk all the way up to my house and raise my sword against an innocent child-- me. It was always the same and had been that way for years now. But then, Saxen came. I'm not even really sure how, but he turned everything around. I was able to stop myself thanks to him.

And then he took me to this garden... All of the flowers were made out of crystals... And he kissed me on the cheek...

It was paradise.

Oh, and then he kissed me. I think we must have kissed a thousand times and it never lost effect. I figure I love him, but then... the thought of Hero...

Next thing I know, we were taken back to that day. The day that Kato was arrested. All was fine at first, but I know that my darkness is waiting to engulf me in my own memories...

And it succeeded.

Born to General Caraway and his wife, Julia, Rinoa's adventure really began when she met Seifer and began a relationship with him. It was through Seifer that she learned of SeeD and was able to get their help in order to assist the Forest Owls. The same night help was arranged, she met and danced with Squall Leonhart.

The SeeDs arrived to help the Forest Owls, and that's when Squall and Rinoa met again. A fiasco followed involving fake Presidents, television broadcasts, and the appearance of Edea, some kind of Sorceress. The SeeDs went to ask for help from Rinoa's father, who promptly locked his daughter out. With a plan of her own, Rinoa went to present the Odine Bangle to Sorceress Edea, which would silence her powers. Before she could, Rinoa was put into a trance and offered up as a sacrifice for the ceremony. Squall and Irvine saved her, and the assassination failed. However, in a last ditch attempt, Squall tried to kill the Sorceress himself, but was impaled with an icicle.

In prison, Rinoa was called out by her father and was to be escorted back home with Irvine. However, she made Irvine turn around and they helped the others escape together. That's when they learned of the missles headed for Balamb and Trabia Gardens. The teams split up to stop and protect, but ultimately Trabia Garden was destroyed. While the team helped out there, they learned that they all grew up in the same orphanage together, with the exception of Rinoa. Together, all of them went to the said orphanage and promptly afterward, a battle between Galbadia and Balamb Gardens (both mobile now) ensued, ending with Rinoa mysteriously falling into a coma.

After travelling across the sea and into space, Rinoa woke up again, possessed by Ultimecia. She went into space and released Adel, then Ultimecia left her to die in space. Squall saved Rinoa shortly afterward, and together they went back to Earth. Rinoa was apprehended, but again, she was saved by Squall and company. They all went to Lunatic Pandora a little later, where Adel junctioned herself to Rinoa. A battle ensued, and Ultimecia possessed Rinoa once again. That was when Time Compression took place. They all travelled to the future together, took on Ultimecia, and ultimately won. However, everyone was scattered across the time stream, with Rinoa left as the only one to move about in it. She saw Squall, ran towards him, but was ultimately launched out of the time stream, ending up as a five-year-old orphan on the streets of Traverse Town with no conscious memories at all.

Taken up, raised, and taught by a rich couple, Rinoa became exactly the kind of person she was before. Squall came around in her teen years. She remembered him from her memories in the form of dreams, but Rinoa was scared to approach him because she didn't know if he would remember. He left soon after Sora showed up, and Rinoa didn't see him for a good long time. All of her memories were slowly coming together... And soon enough, she realized who she was. Donning her old clothes again with slight modifications, Rinoa wrote a letter to Leon and gave it to someone who would deliver it for her. Ever since then, she has been searching the worlds for him.

All of my searching finally came to an end. As I was walking down the street, I walked down an alleyway and was ambushed by Heartless... I managed to defeat some of them, but just as one was about to attack me, this woman comes in and saves the day. She said her name was Tifa, and she's absolutely INCREDIBLE at fighting. Anyway, just as we were talking...

He shows up.
