In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Marmadue extended an arm as Aiken decided to instantly rise up to his feet the moment he had advised him to do otherwise. Maybe he even tried to say something, the quietest of objections mumbled behind his helmet but… It wasn't going to be of any use, was it? Defeated, the Yuke's hand fell back to his lap, his head drooping. Just his usual luck, wasn't it…
Feeling the other man's gaze upon him, Marmadue straightened his neck and looked back. While he had been hopeful himself, Aiken certainly seemed to be the opposite, already wondering if his world was doomed! That was… A strange conclusion to come to, all of a sudden. Who would assume something like that unless they knew… More? Maybe the man did. Maybe he wasn't even consciously aware of them, or maybe he hadn't just mentioned it. A town in flames was new information, after all. Perhaps Aiken was in slight shock after everything…
"Ah you, ah, seem to assume the worst," the Yuke rubbed the back of his neck, ruffling his feathers, "A conclusion not many would come to. Even us who ah, h-have been told such tend to… Hope that it is not true. After all, we do not know for certain…"
Maybe it was Marmadue just trying to convince himself, now.
((Sorry for the late reply, University keeping me busy, we could end it here if you want and move on to something bigger?))
What Marmadue said surprised him, he seemed to believe that his world could still be there even if it was seemingly taken by the darkness or could it have been wishful thinking, as he and Aiken both knew that worlds taken by the darkness are often lost. Aiken sighed in defeat, not knowing the answers was painful he didn't elaborate further on his home world, he would need to investigate further and the only way to do that was to stay here and explore this new world in hopes to find out more.
With a deep breath which could tell anyone that he was exhausted and ready to sleep he spoke to Marmadue again "Ah..yeah I do tend to do that a lot." He chuckled this was nothing compared to how he used to be "Being trapped on an island for 5 years, it would do that to a man." He smirked giving Marmadue just a hint of new information after all, it took a lot for him to open up completely, he thought they should get some sleep for the night or whatever time it was.
"Would you mind if I could rest here for the night?, I would normally go out on patrol in my own city but I'm no longer there..." He finished dropping his smile to his normal serious gaze, he would explore more of this world in the morning maybe stop some crime, but this town looked too quiet for that as his city was filled with criminals underground and it was up to him to find them and stop them, but this place seemed far too quiet for that but with these heartless around things were about to get exciting, maybe he would even find clues to his Master's whereabouts.
"Ah," was all Marmadue could really respond to the man's mention of being trapped on an island for years. That… Certainly was a tidbit that required a longer story to really get, but it seemed like he wasn't going to get it – unless he asked. Maybe not even then. He had trouble figuring out what kind of an emotion Aiken was feeling as he mentioned it…
The Yuke seemed to have gotten lost in his thoughts again, snapping back to attention when the topic turned to something he could easily understand and reply to. Resting. Yes. "Ah and, you should not really be patrolling at the moment," he reminded the man. His ankle had suffered some, and even if it was now completely painless… Well, it was healed, but it was always better to be safe than sorry. Keeping Aiken off his feet for at least a night sounded like a good idea.
"Of course, good sir. I ah, often have newcomers in here, if they do not have any place to stay," and Aiken certainly fit the description, "Please. Stay as long as you'd like. There should be enough bedding to make yourself comfortable, and ah, I keep some water and bread behind the counter, if you need any. I ah, stay upstairs myself, so if you need me for something…"
((Sure, we can end it now or you can end it if you want one more post in, hah. Do shoot me up a PM or something if you want to thread again right away!))
