In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

All fights take place on the Game Grid. NO BREAKING THE GRID!
Aerith still wasn't entirely sure how this idea had come up, but since it had and she had been talked into it, she was going to enjoy herself. And it wouldn't do to lose - people were watching.
The transfer into the computer had shifted her clothes, as it always did, to fit in with this land of flat planes and glowing lines - they looked strangely flat and immobile, and included a sort of helmet. It all seemed to glow softly, as everything here did, and was edged in neon electric pink.
She entered the grid from above, leaping down with her staff in hand. The smile she wore was born of adrenalin.
Yulia was excited to be part of this contest, she needed a chance to unleash some frustraion. Of coruse she had never been teleported into a computer before so the trip was a little dizzying for her. Yulia had enetered the Game Grid a little bit after her opponent did and materalized in the air above the arena. Yulia fell to the ground but a couple of feet before she hit it she did a little flip and landed safely on her feet. She looked up and noticed that her cloths seemed to have changed and now glowing a bright blue. "This is....strange" Yulia said to herself. She looked around and saw her opponent. She took out her blue crystal staff and said to the women polietly "My the best fighter win". Yulia then prepared herself for the upcoming fight.
Tifa could hardly contain her delight when she saw that Aerith was using the staff that she had made her. She had put a lot of hard work into it, and there were few compliments higher than seeing your work used. Her opponent was Yulia, who Tifa recalled seeing around before but never actually being introduced to.
Leaning close to the mic, she stated plainly "Round Five, Aerith Gainsborough competing with Yulia, may begin."
((Do you mean your staff is made completely of blue crystal? Like carved out of it? Just so I know for imagery.))
Aerith caste Haste on herself immediately, the light of it under her skin unnoticeable in this place. It was usually the best first move, and if you didn't really have a clear strategy - because 'win' was a goal, not a strategy, no matter what certain people said. On the heels of the first spell came Protect, shimmering, and then Reflect. (In that order. Very important to do it in that order.)
And then she took off running across the grid in the other girl's direction
((Haste gives an extra move a turn, Protect cuts physical damage by half, Reflect bounces all magic back on the caster. None are permanent, but all will last a fair number of turns.))
Yulia jumped backwards at the sound of the start of the fight. She was about to launch an attack when she saw Aerith put up some sort of shield and then another one. Being only a beginner white mage Yulia knew a protect spell when she saw one. She only sighed at this because she knew that her direct attacks weren't going to do much and with that second shield which she guessed was the Shell spell, and so she would have to think of a better tactict to use insted of magic. She had only one spell with her that only used the enviroment, but since she was in a computer she didn't think it would work. Well it wouldnt hurt to try.
Yulia held her staff directly in front of her and closed her eyes and channeled energy into the staff and spoke the incantation of protection, "Oh power of holy protection" witht that soothing voice a sphere of magical energy srounded Yulia. Now that the sides were some what even Yulia began to use her next spell. With her staff still in front of her she spoke another ancient verse, "Spirits of the earth rain down" Yuia hoped that a digital world would act the same when it came to landscape as the real world.
(I'll let the spell take the right action by the judges decision..the spell is supposed to use the landscape as a projectial. its your call judge)
I'm gonna say, that if it rips up the ground and throws it at the opponent, it would not work. However, if it is like the Earth Slide spell from Secret of Mana, (0:17) it would work. So, back to you, Yulia. What's your spell like?
((PM'ed. And I'm going with traditional FF reflect, so as far as I can tell, this should be the effect.))
The attack spell shinged off the Reflect, just as Aerith closed with her opponent. She swung hard - once for the head, reverse swing for the gut, and the boulder meant for her crashed down at Yulia.
Aerith leaped back a good ten feet, well out of the range of staffs.
Yulia got knocked around a bit from her opponent. The worst one was the head shot, but thankfully her own version of a protect shield dampend the damage. However, it would not protect her from the boulder that was sent flying back at her. With a quick regain of composure Yulia said quickly, "Feel the coldness of a silver embrace". A single not very wide, beam of ice shot out of her staff and connected with the rock and shattered it. "You fight well" Yulia said as she ran towards her opponent.
Aerith grinned, wild and wide-eyed. Her feet plated firmly, she brought her hands up in a gathering motion and cast out a Dispel, and again with almost the same movement, a Silence, and a third time, Slow. She ran to meet her opponent, whipping her staff around low.
(Are any of your spells dodgeable??) (And how long would silence last here) Yulia instantly stopped running when she saw her shields get blown away. Great now she would have to put it up again. But the moment she put he staff up she was hit by another spell. It didn't show any immediat signs so Yulia went back to start her spell. But when she tried to think of the words her mind went blank. "How could this happen, I've known these for years...oh wait it was that spell" Yulia thought to herself. She back stepped form her oppenent but as she landed she was hit with yet another spell. This one seemed to make her body feel like rock. With her spells gone and reflexes not at thier best, Yulia's mind raced to come up with a battle stratagy.
