In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Wincing at the sight that was being played out before her very eyes, Quistis' crystalline gaze looked to the blades that Gilgamesh had raised. Her hand tightened on her very own Save the Queen, the most powerful chain whip that she had in her arsenal. There were just times that she figured that she would need a powerful weapon, and being called in to be a moderator for the event... well... that was just something that immediately told her to be sure to equip something that was powerful and strong in case she, herself, needed to intervene.
She would hold off for now... just to see how the rest of this would play out.
Don't sweat it... *looks six posts up* ... ^^ We all have our muse down times~
Defense. It was something Kian was good at, his style of fighting. He didn't like causing harm to other people, it was painful to do, painful to watch. His attacks when on defense were menial, he wouldn't ever be able to win like this... he had to step it up a notch.
He looked over to where the monster was, noting the blades. One move anywhere and he was toast, not moving anywhere without doing anything at all and he was, again, toast. Toast was the inevitable... but what about if he didn't run away? Would that yield just plain bread? Likely so... Fine then, it was worth a shot.
As the weapons came down to his right, Kian help up his hands, closing them slightly. Soon a weapon emerged in his hands in a flash of light. Gilgamesh might've taken his sickles... but he couldn't take this one away from him, the blade that was in his heart. His keyblade.
As the weapons came down on the metal, he felt his knees buckle at the weight, "Nnn--" This guy was stronger than he looked... and he was already strong looking. If it was coming down to this... Kian would lose miserably. But wait... with both pairs of hands away from the side... he was wide open. Now was his chance.
The weight still being placed, Kian lifted his left foot off the ground slightly, stomping it back down,"Get back!"
After the speech, a single, pointed pillar of ice spurted from the base of the ground, shooting to Gilgamesh's chest, hoping to impale. Toast wasn't going to be on the menu today, that was for sure.

Gilgamesh asked, completely astounded by the weapon. He had heard stories of such a legendary weapon. He so desperately need one for his collection - even a fake one. It just made him think of making one when he saw it. What a weapon. But what he really wanted to know was why this kid had one? He didn't seem anything special. What made him more deserving of one than Gilgamesh?
Though all of this flashing through Gilgamesh's mind suddenly stopped with Kian statment 'Get back!' It was pretty clear that he wouldn't just shout this randomly, obviously he was doing something. It was just working out what it was exactly. Gilgamesh couldn't help but look down as his foe stomped is foot. And that was when he saw ice shoot up from the ground toward him.
"Arghh! What the...!
Gilgamesh shouted, out of surprise more than anything, as he hopped back to avoid the ice the shot up. This guy really did like the cold didn't he? Even his Keyblade had an icy look to it. That had made him back away for a second, but he sprang back into assault immediately after.
With a powerful slash of his right arms, Gilgamesh shattered the pillar of ice before him. And following this with a back hand(s) slash. Stangely enough, Gilgamesh swung all three of his right arms. But soon it became clear as to why. Just before the horizontal strikes would hit, another weapon appeared in his bottom hand. That's right, he had more than six weapons - they just kept coming. This new addition to the battle was a replica of another legendary hero's wepon, Squall Leonhart's Revolver Gunblade. Now, with three blades heading for Kian, how would he deal with a simultaneous high, mid and low attacks..?
Watching as the battle continued on , the blonde former mercenary looked as Kian seemed to have a weapon shimmer in his grasp. Just... what was that weapon? Were the stories that she had read from her students really something of truth? Did the weapon such as the Keyblade actually exist? It wasn't just a made up figment of one of her student's mind? It was interesting, seeing something like that. Moreover, keeping an eye on the teen that seemed more inclined to dance the dodge, she noticed his usage in using ice based casts. That was another thing that piqued her interest.
Perhaps... if Quistis were ever to be seeing the arctic female, Shiva again, she would have a few words pertaining to this teen. Maybe... nothing would be set in stone just yet. However... it was a thought, considering that the kid's basis seemed to consist highly that of ice.
Turning her gaze to Gilgamesh, Quistis' grip on Save the Queen refused to falter. Seeing the kid's talents were something that made her hold back against going out to call the match. The kid may have been up against a six-armed behemoth, but the kid seemed to know what to do and how to do it.

It was both a reminder to himself and his opponent. Things were going well... he was having the monster on the run, figuring out weak points, exploiting. Kian would stay strong... he had to. There were others in this tournament he was needing to help out and maybe even face off against. Friends... that's what he needed right now, they'd keep him going strong, alive.
The monster summoned another blade after narrowly missing the previous attack. It had more... good news and bad news at the same time. However, combined with the swing, it was for the better. He ran forwards as the arms came down, he knew what he was doing quite well, and timing was one thing that needed to be perfectly executed. So far so good.
As the blades drew close, Kian was well aware, shouting, "Reflect!"
A dome of defensive, magical material surrounded the ice-user, causing the blades to be block, causing a recoil from the monster's arms (as such was part of the spell). Now or never.
Bursting forwards, following with the force exerted from the spell's breaking, Kian lowered his arms. As he drew closer, he swung upwards, lifting the blade with him. The shock should have lasted this long...
It was his first front-on attack... risky, but good. Damage to be delt if done correctly, damage to be taken if it wasn't.
All three of Gilgamesh's right-handed weapons powered into the magical barrier and bounced right back off again. The impact turned his body with all the power bouncing right back at him. Magic again... Vey irritating.
And, although those three arms would have no chance of defending the next attack, Gilgamesh still had another three. Having so many arms was great for combat - very, very useful. Though, with his body twisting from the recoil and his arms being pulled back, Gilgamesh was quite distracted and didn't really have time to see what was going on properly. So, all he did was hold out his two left-handed weapons before him in a horizontal fashion.
The Keyblade swung up into the bottom blade, smacking that one up and into the other and breaking the defense. But, to Gilgamesh's surprise, actually stopping the strike from hitting him as he stumbled back to compose himself. This kid was a lot tougher than he looked, Gilgamesh was starting to get a little worried - his spells were really defending him well. The freak couldn't get close enough with all this magic going on.
But eventually, surely Kian would run out of magic. All Gilgamesh had to do was keep the assault going until that happened. Obviously, he would currently be trying to strike Kian, but he knew that would be difficult. Maybe attacking in combos would be more effective; that darn reflect spell wouldn't last long enough to save him from more than one strike.
In another puff of smoke, yet another blade appeared in Gilgamesh's empty hand, now filling each and everyone of them. This one being the Light Bringer, a copy of a paladin sword belonging to a hero named Cecil. With all six weapon now ready and gripped tightly, Gilgamesh prepared for yet another charge...
Taking only one quick step, the six-armed nutter then leaped forward in Kian's direction. As he landed directly in front of him, Gilgamesh pulled down all three left-handed weapons for a downward vertical attack; the blades all lined up next to one another and coming down above the kid. His right arms came for a horizontal attack straight after, two coming at once and the third delayed. The first two came across for slashing attacks, whilst the final blade came for a diagonal stab...
Save the Queen's chains were dropped to the ground, and Quistis held the handle of her own weapon firmly. It didn't look like Gilgamesh was going to let up as now, he had six weapons for each of his hands. She debated between what was going on and whipping the chain out to snag the kid and drag him out of the way.
However... the match was getting pretty interesting, and the freak wasn't able to really get all that clean of a hit on Kian.
*raises hand* D: I just wanna say now to you, Cloud, I'm sorry I'm not having Kian take hits. He has a defensive style of fighting and... well... the way you have Gilg going, it would be hard to have a hit happen without the whole fight going down the whole. So yeah, really sorry! D:
... Come on! Go down! Down already! There wasn't enough stamina to keep this going on for long! Urg, this guy was impossible to stop, the onslaught of attacks just kept coming, each one stronger than the next. Perhaps Kian wasn't fighting the right way for this battle. He was already wearing himself down with all these spells, depleting his magical energy... the only thing that didn't completely have a limit were his ice and blade attacks.
As the beast leapt and landed, Kian spurted forward as fast as he could, rolling under the beast's legs. Great... one more thing to do. Turning around near the end of the end of the roll, he turned back with a jump. He latched onto the warrior's helmet, pulling himself up onto his armor, and soon the ice-user grabbed his opponent's scarf, pulling it over his eyes, tying a knot in it to hold it there tight, and holding on for dear life.
This was a break... a scary one, but a break that was somewhat safe. No matter what happened, he'd win in some form. With the the monster having all the swords in his hands, no way he could get Kian.
( ooc: It's fine, really. All you defenses and evasions have been realistic and logical. I can't argue with that. )
All those combo attacks prepared all for nothing. As soon as he was performing the first move, Kian had gone, zooming under Gilgamesh. And before he knew what was happening the kid was on his head. Suddenly everything went dark!
"Woah! You little brat...
Gilgamesh called out as he stumbled around and shook his head around a bit trying to shake the teenager off of him. Obviously that wasn't likely to work, Gilgamesh expected him to hang on at this point, but it would keep him busy as the best dropped the Masamune in order to reach up and grab Kian. He kept shaking his head until the instant that he clenched his hand on what would hopefully be Kian's arm, or even leg.
If, he did indeed grab Kian, Gilgamesh had hopes of pulling him off and slamming him onto the ground. He wasn't concerned as to which way up he landed or anything like that. Giglamesh was just planning on grabbing and slamming...
(Shiay can still make her post I thought I'd in some Mod dialogue as well)
Hades walked up beside Quistis. She was gripping her weapon. She had better not intervene.
"I take it you enjoying the fight Quistis. It better stay 1 on 1 and 2 on 1. If you catch my drift." Hades let out a slight laugh as he made another throne appear in a puff of smoke a sat in it.
"I take it you're enjoying the fight Quistis. It better stay one on one and not two on one. If you catch my drift."[/color]
Clenching her jaw at Hades' words, Quistis averted her gaze to where the God of Death had appeared and then furrowed her brow. She would have liked to have seen him stop her. It was in her nature to stop things before they got too out of control... and Kian wasn't that old. Sure, the blonde had experienced death of her friends, and it was never an easy thing. However, being the more seasoned fighter that she was as opposed to when she was in Balamb, she had picked up several more tactics along the way.
Kian was doing a good job, there was no doubt about that. Quistis wanted to see how far it was that he could go, really. Gilgamesh was slow and relied on his melee tactics to be getting to the kid, but had failed thanks to Kian's ability to use and harness magic.
Coiling Save the Queen back up, Quistis watched as Gilgamesh dropped one of his own weapons to reach for the kid. If it were the Instructor out there instead of Kian, she would have seized the opportunity presented of him being unarmed in that hand and use Save the Queen to wrap and bind his arm, leaving it practically useless.... However... that was her, the kid on the other hand, may have had another plan in that head of his.

Kian had had pretty good luck so far, though it didn't seem it would last for long. He had heard the masamune drop, the chime signaling that an arm was coming. Time to make the best of what he--
He felt an arm grasp around his ankle, prying him off of the monster's back. Dammit! He was hoping that last evasion would have lasted a bit longer than it had. Not wanting to break an arm, he quickly let go of the helmet-- freeing his hands. No way out of this one... but there was a clear window of opportunity.
Gilgamesh still had his scarf over his eyes... he wouldn't be able to see anything. Noticing this, Kian quickly held out his hands, aiming them straight to his face as he was pulled over the monster's shoulder. Out from his palms spurted two large icicles, shooting themselves to his opponent's face. There was no way he could tell those were coming... mission complete; now came the time to face the consequences.
The ground was hard... and it looked painful to be thrown onto it. Sadly, that was the fate Kian had to have. As the monster's hand neared the end of its rotation, Kian felt a surge of pain emerge in his back. Clearly he winced, letting out a loud groan on contact. T-That wasn't fun... n-not one... bit. It was over now, though... the whole match was... at least he'd managed to avoid most of the attacks.
Springing from her spot, Save the Queen becoming extended once again, the Instructor stood before Kian and looked up to Gilgamesh. Kian had gotten a clean shot at Gilgamesh's face, and the beast couldn't see it because of the veiling. The chains clinked against the ground and Quistis spoke up, "this match goes to Kian Rivers."
Her grip on Save the Queen tightened again and then her gaze briefly went over to Hades, hoping that he'd hurry up and get them dismissed before anything else would happen.
Who am I to change another mods decision. It's your call.
Hades let out a smirk and snapped his fingers and caused the ice shooting at Gilgamesh to simply melt. He was THAT good with fire.
"It's your call blondie. So be it. Kian Rivers wins" Another snap of the fingers and both fighters were whisked away to the waiting room. Leaving Quistis there alone. Only one more fight left.
