In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

((Neko has given me permission to use Sage's new poison-blade. Is this fine with you? There's a thread that I can give you the link to to show you proof.))

((Sweetness ... Sage'll still lose >> Sage: D:))
Sage tumbled into the arena late as usual. She had gotten to the underworld just when the last boat had left and was yelling and waving her arms for it to get back. Needless to say the imp rowing it only turned back and smirked. Only once the first round was over did the imp come back. Finally she had come into the arena and here she was now.
Mamoru was her opponent, what a weird name it was. The only thing Sage could think of when hearing it was what a little reject child he must be. She shrugged her shoulders as she continued try to adjust the weapon on her back. Axel should have made sure the sheath strap was a lot more comfortable before he purchased the weapon. A scowled appeared on her face, what if he wasn't a heartless? There were rumors going around about some heartless being here, and if this Mamorune was a heartless then Axel would be very pleased with her. Then again, she didn't have to kill heartless, how would that spiky red-head ever know? She was getting off topic here and folded her arms over her chest, he had to be coming soon.
Mamoru rolled his eyes and shifted his gaze down to his watch. His victim--...opponent, was late. Typical. He remembered the fiery cat he battled about a year ago in the Underdrome, who was over six hours late. Probably waiting outside the area, quivering in fear. But he wasn't one to talk. In reality, the tall boy did not miss the boat to the area, but rather, he believed in being fashionably late. Being a little too smug, he skipped the first round with permission from the Lord of the Underworld himself. As far as he was concerned, skipping the first round gave him the upper hand. He had endless bouts of energy.
Mamoru peeked into the arena and suddenly panicked. She'd arrived? Without passing him? That wasn't fair at all. His opponent showing up first. There was no way he could make a smug remark now. He'd have to improvise. Striding into the arena, he moved the front tuffs of hair from his vision, flashing his opponent a fanged smirk.
"Decided to show up? That was pretty damned stupid, girl. You know you're going to die, so why insist that I fight you first? Just lie down on the ground and lemme take your soul. I promise, it'll only hurt for a second."
And before she could open her mouth for a response, Mamoru summoned his scythe, it hovering in the air for a few moments before settling into his strong grip. The blade was bloodstained, but he'd polished it as much as possible, it gleaming in the dull gray light of the Underdrome. A few glass orbs hung off of the blade by what looked to be colored ribbons. And inside of these spheres? Souls. To be more specific, souls of humans. Each was an interesting color, based on the person's personality. A red one, a vibrant blue one, and a rather small white one, most likely from a child. It was...a gruesome job, but it was a job. And if Mamoru didn't fulfill it, consequences would have to be issued...

"Decided to show up? That was pretty damned stupid, girl. You know you're going to die, so why insist that I fight you first? Just lie down on the ground and lemme take your soul. I promise, it'll only hurt for a second."
That voice... her eyes narrowed soon after he spoke. This kid seemed to mean business and she knew that he wasn't going to give up easily. Steal her soul? Just what was he, the grim reaper? With that scythe he made a pretty good impression of one, but someone such as him, there was just no way he was one. She put an arm behind her head and drew out her own blade. Whatever would happen here she wasn't going to let it happen without a good fight. There would be no giving up, no slacking, it would simply be an all-out fight.
Sage wouldn't let him attack first, then he would be able to have the upper hand. She wasn't the best at defense, and just getting a new weapon meant she didn't exactly know the weapon's weak points. Of course she knew one, but she wasn't about to say it. If this Mamorai wanted to win so bad she wouldn't let him take the easy way out. She did the simple charge at him and swing. It wasn't a hard blow and she didn't even have time to look and see if she hit or where she hit. Her eyes were on the scythe, she wanted to see its special abilities, how he used it, anything that would help.

Mamoru continued his smirking. This girl was obviously panicking, going over him in her mind. She was afraid, and he knew it. She wasn't talking back, and that made him a little discouraged. What's a fight with only the physical? Verbal threats play a large part in battles. It helps grind down your opponent's sanity. He'd have her defeated in no time...
And just as he thought, she attacked first. It was quite a lazy, weak swing. He expected more from his first opponent. But although it was nonchalant, the blade still grazed the side of Mamoru's cheek as it swung upwards. It merely scratched the surface of his pale skin, but it was followed by an immediate dull pain. This blade must have been charmed, or laced with some sort of status-effector. Poison, most likely. He put his hand up to his face and lightly pressed the wound with his thumb.
"That the best you can do? It's like fighting a child. Or maybe a bug...you seem annoying enough." He continued his previous rant. It was only a matter of time until her patience dwindled down to nothing. But he wanted to get this battle over and done with. He had a few words for the Lord of the Underworld, and he intended on voicing them. But for now, he would deal with this girl.
Moving swiftly, he ran towards her, holding his blade at a somewhat 40° angle. He swung, wanting to catch her off guard. But before the blade hit, he turned it around, letting the back of it hit her instead, sending electrical shocks through the metal spikes. He knew this amount of force at this angle would knock her backwards, and his next move was already determined. Using a chain-teleport, he moved behind her body in a split second, ramming the shaft into her back to send her flying.
Hades smiled as he gave a snap of his fingers and three long chains with spikes on them came shooting out of the arena shield and around Mamoru and Sage. As the battle went on, even more would appear.

He was going to hit her, was that really all? She moved her to block it but watched him pull it back so that the spikes in the bottom dug sideways into her vest. It ripped and she didn't think it was bleeding, but the pain that followed soon after the hit might have covered it up. A shock was sent through her body coming most likely from Mamory's scythe. She narrowed her eyes to slits as she flew back wards but still kept a grip on her blade. Right before her eyes he disappeared and a chain shot up into the air to the right of her. Narrowly it missed her and she watched that pointed end hit the barrier and dig into it. There were now three chains tightly strung up around the field.
From behind her a pole rammed into her back, she figured it was the blunt side of the scythe as she was propelled forward. This time she grabbed a hold of the chain and clung to it. Her body stopped moving and she jumped back from the chain. Mamorhyme would probably try to electrify the chain if she clung onto it for too long. Blood blossomed out onto her vest and her knuckles turned white as she tightened her grip on her weapon.
Somehow she was going to use those chains against Mamoral and win this round. She moved her left hand out straight and looked into the red eye and blue eye of Mamorute. Quickly she brought the blade in and it hit the chain with a ringing sound. A mark, or rather indent, appeared on the chain, a rather deep one too. Chances were good she wouldn't be able to hit that exact same spot with her blade again so she brought her foot up and rammed it into the chain. The metal twisted and broke. The bottom of the chain dropped to the ground lifelessly, held into the earth by probably another spike. Sage quickly scooped up the limp chain from the ground and pulled up wards with all her might. A spike was unearthed from the ground and she smirked.
She began to twirl it in the air, the spike constantly moving in a circle like the blades of a helicopter. In her left hand was the poison blade and in her right was the new chain. This time she would let him attack first. If he teleported she would be ready and she would make sure to finish him in one blow. A small smirk played out on her lips while she waited for his next move. "Let's not be such a hypocrite..."
[Goodness, Sage. I love your mocking of his name. It's great.]
Mamoru watched eagerly as his opponent soared across the stadium. But there was not a painful yelp as she hit the wall. There was not the cracking sound of impact. He stared at her for a moment, and realized the girl had grabbed onto a chain that appeared out of no where. He grunted, apparently displeased. He wanted to finish her off quickly, but she was smarter than he anticipated...
"You--...That's not wise, you know." Mamoru stepped forwards cautiously, watching the spike swing around in a circular motion. He waited until it was above his head, before swinging his scythe upwards to catch the chain. It wrapped around the scythe's blade and the hanging bottles rather tightly. There was no way she could shake it off. And before she could let go of the chain, he sent another quick shock through it, much more powerful than before.
"I'm not going to go on and on with lame electrical jokes. All I know is you're going smell like smoke when we're through." He gave a twisted smile. Poison couldn't counter his electricity. And metal chains? She was crazy to use these against him.

So maybe she was crazy, and maybe she was going to die. But here's the thing, in the long run, it's those who take a shot that usually win. She didn't want to let go, and she knew she was going to get shocked, but there was a catch. "I know," she laughed to him. Sure he would shock her before she could let go, however, the moment she saw the chain start to wrap around his scythe she tugged. It wouldn't come free and that's what she wanted. Instead she tugged the scythe forward. If this Mamoram was to hold on then she was ready. Already her poison blade had be set straight at him, so if he were pulled forward he would be pulled forward into the blade.
The shock struck her now and she winced. Her hair turned to something akin to straw and her clothes began to smell, the blood charred and her skin turned black around the wound. She couldn't get struck by another zap and hoped to finish him off in this one blow. Her theory was that he couldn't teleport without the scythe so she dropped her guard in the back of her. Her knees shook from the shock and she cough up blood from what she hoped was not internal bleeding. Still, the fight must go on.

Unfortunately, Sage's idea of Mamoru only being able to teleport with his scythe were false. He could teleport anywhere at anytime, as long as he had energy to spare. He didn't want to let go of his weapon, but if that meant being struck with a poisonous blade? He was willing to make a sacrifice. Poison slowed him down, and he couldn't afford that in a tournament. Even if he won, the effects would still be there. It would be much too difficult for him to continue. So his only option was to release his weapon. Sure, he used his scythe for attacks, but that didn't mean he couldn't used his fists aswell. When he felt the pulling on his scythe, he practically threw it at her with incredible force.
"Hey, you want it? You got it." Mamoru sneered, disappearing and reappearing behind her. He wasn't going to make this easy for her. Not easy at all. Who knows? This could be the quickest battle he was ever in.
Once he was behind her, he brought his palms up, wrists firmly together. His hands were flat, fanning out to both sides. And immediately, those hands were slammed into her back. And as they were, a jolt of electricity shot through his palms. This would be painful, and he knew it. His own hands were starting to hurt, the small scars on them searing with the pain of previous electrical attacks. Although, the only place that this electricity would harm was his own hands. His boots were lined with rubber and metal, which would send the electricity evenly throughout his body. If anything, this would jolt his heart a little. And he needed that more than anything.
"So sorry... If you did what I asked you to do before, you wouldn't be burning like toast right now. I hope it doesn't hurt too much. That might turn your soul black, too. And I was hoping for something with a little more color."
