In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Then it would be something of significance between the two of you perhaps, or you two are vulnerable to what we're not." Jadis pointed at Merlin and herself for reference. "Did anything happened to you two before I've met you Antique? Then again, I find it odd how its only affecting you so heavily versus Rex. I wonder."
"When did you two started to see this...mist before you?"
It can be a bundle of things. How long would it take to narrow it done?
"Maybe it is an enchantment someone in your world placed you under?" Merlin tugged at his beard, thinking. "Maybe your mind's eye is being blocked by someone?"
Antique rubbed her temples, trying to relieve the dizzying feeling that twirled and echoed inside of her head. Even with her eyes closed, she could "see" that mist-like substance. She could not feel it, nor smell it, but she could see it and sense it's existance. She was not sure exactly how she liked it. Being around it made her feel as if she had just finished beating the world record for spinning in circles.
"I wish I knew. But it's not likely. Magick, enchantments and things like that are a near impossibility in my homeworld. The one person who could use it..." she trailed off, and swallowed, and whispered, "Was our ruler," she said lightly. She turned her head, and managed to peek at Caxnon. She was glad she wasn't absolutoly batty--knowing someone else could see it made her glad at least...
"I kind of just started seeing it. Traverse Town is always kind of covered with it, but...not in such heaviness as it is here..." she said. "This place is submerged in it."
"I'm sorry," she said, bowing her head. "We can just continue...I think I'll be alright," she said lightly. She didn't like to talk about her own weaknesses, nor admit that she had them. And if the mist was becomming a burden...it wasn't something that couldn't get past, right?
Merlin nodded. "Hmmm.... So you weren't introduced to magic before coming here... so maybe that is what is wrong. Describe the mist. What senses can detect it?"
He summoned a mug for himself, and sipped at the steaming contents. "Mmmm.... Jadis, We could show them powerful magical displays, or place barriers that null magical influences. It might reveal more of the nature of this mist- whether or not it has to do with exposure to magic."
'' Well..it's more like sensing it's existance. And we can see it.'' Caxnon said.
He was sure that he had seen it before while they were walking here, but he never gave it much thought. Which was strange... considering that he didn't miss much in this town.
Caxnon thought about Jadis's question carefully before answering.
'' Well I started seeing it a few minutes ago i guess. And the only strange thing I recall, is when I touched Antique's hand. Other than that, nothing.'' he said

"I don't see how showing off would help. Also if this mist of magic doesn't affect us, I highly doubt we can affect it as well..." Jadis slowly paused until a lightbulb slowly started to flicker.
"Antique, dear, you said it was a mist to be exact, correct? You both can feel its presence in this world, but it suddenly boomed in this place to be percise. Also you never seen it at your homeworld, where magic...wasn't introduced." The Ice Witch's nails slowly tapped against her chair as she zoomed back through memory lane.
"I think I may now what you are being exposed to, and how ironic it's generally called mist. If I remember correctly from my studies ages ago, mist is the basic phenonmena that enables and introduce the use of magic to the non-magical related. For example, there are some beings who can manipulate or bend nature quite easily with their will as if they are one, while others need to form a connection through magic.Think of mist as a boon to magic."
Jadis then looked towards Merlin before back on the two, "We probably aren't affected or matter of fact not see it, because we've been acquainted with the mystic for quite some time. You are finally exposed to it, so you would be able to interact with magic versus magic not be existent in your home world. It's somewhat logical, since this place is a magic studies where people expand and are introduced to more magic extensions."
"I wonder though 'why are you so affected?'. Humans aren't normally affected by the mist; some may see it, but aren't easily swayed by it in such a manor. There are some who can become ill by the mist, but they aren't human at all." The unasked question was up in the air for speculation.
"No matter, if you like to continue, we surely can..."
"You know, it's kind of like...welll..." Antique listened to Caxnon's description of it, and smiled. "Like that. You know how you know someone is behind you--you just know it's there. You can sense it temperature wise...and well, you can see it too. Which blows my metaphor out of the water, but still," Antique sighed.
She listened to the explanation of the mist. "So...it's nothing harmful, right...?" she asked quietly. She looked up at Caxnon, who didn't seem to be bothered. Cheeks flushing pink, she was determined not to let this bother her, even though it did. And non-humans were made...ill by it?
Antique was human, last time she checked. Then again, she was adopted. Maybe she was a man-eating monster. No. She knew she was human, even despite that fact. She never really did have her whining she-didn't-know-her-parents-stage, only because she was so happy most of the time. But things worked out for a reason.
"I'll do this..." she said, and looked to Caxnon, patting the seat next to her so that he'd sit closer. She wouldn't admit it, but she was kind of scared.
Eyes fluttering shut, she tried to clear her mind, willing the mist not to bother her--if it wasn't harmful, there was no reason to be afraid of it, right? She started with her muscles--relaxing them from her feet upward. There was a noticeable change in her posture. Antique seemed so care-free, but it was a pretense for how on edge she was.
She trusted Jadis, she knew that. She trusted Caxnon too. That's all she had going for her. Her head bobbed down wards, and for a bit, she almost looked like a porcelain doll.
Merlin saw the light bulb in Jadis's head, but was still lost. "Mist? Hmmm... mist... Mist... Mist.... Ah!" he wrinkled his nose in thought for a moment, and then he too found his light bulb. "you must mean the Veil!"
He turned to Antique to hear the description, and nodded vigorously. "I have encountered that phenomena before, in another human being, by the name of Rolagii. He's quite a bit older than Antique, and came from a world that also did not use magic." Merlin frowned. "However, they did have a few enchanted objects, one of which the guy had on his fists... But that is neither here nor there."
Looking at Caxon, at his Aura, and then looking at Antique, and seeing her aura, Merlin chuckled. He took the liberty to answer Jadis' hinted at, yet unasked question. "There is no doubt that Antique here is human. If she weren't, we'd know."
Merlin tugged at his beard slightly and sipped again at his mug. His eyes twinkled slightly as he pondered. "So Jadis..." He said between sips. "What exactly do you have planned for these two, training-wise? How were you planning on introducing them to the rudimentary spells? or is that a secret?"
Caxnon listened to everyone speak for a long time, and He thought it would be best If he kept silent. Though he had many questions about this mist, and wanted to know about magic, he couldn't bring himself to ask anything. Perhaps it was being in the company of two powerful people?, or maybe it was just Jadis? Either way he didn't want to interupt the two.
Caxnon simply folded his arms and closed his eyes, while think about what he just heard

"Well Merlin dear you can't be too sure; it already took us a while to identify mist. Like I've said before, humans aren't generally that sensitive to a mass expolsure to mist." There were other species that are far more sensitive and pontentially loose themselves to the mist, and thus far, Jadis haven't ran into any lately.
The ice witch craned her head at Merlin's question, "Actually I wasn't going to teach them spells at all. Such lesson is highly close to mediocre...and an easily fragile undiscipline route to even beginning to learn magic."
Jadis pondered on the idea for a moment. She always detested the idea of teaching little spells here or there as these children, the pupils, fling them here or there lacking the hardcore training of sorcery. Then again, who was she to decide for them; actually she could if she truly wanted to, but her curiosity allowed her to permit the sense of free will.
"I will let them decide on what they would like to dive in. Caxnon, Antique, would you rather obtain a few rudimentary spells or get acquainted with your spirit's element?"
"You mean you can learn spells just like that?" Antique said, in a rather surprised manner. She touched her cheek and patted it, "I always thought it was a slow process...kind of like when you learn sword fighting. Sometimes you don't even do things related to it, at first," she said, and smiled softly. But honestly, magic was a completely different thing than swordplay, right?
The thought of spells didn't sit too well with her. If just this place made her as dizzy as she was, then that stuff...coming from her so easily didn't sound like it would have been useful at all to her.
"I think I'm human," she said, and nodded with conviction. Most definitely. What else could she be?
"Anyway, I'd like to be acquainted with my spirit's element. Everything kind of comes after that, yes?"
Merlin looked at Jadis. "so you're planning on doing things the right way then? Well, that is comforting to hear. The last person that I tried to teach magic to didnt have the time to sit still, never mind learn the true meaning of magic." Of course, he was referring to Sora, but there was good reason that Merlin gave him spells and sent him off.
Turning to Antique, Merlin smiled. "Like Jadis has said, there is a short way, but it never allows you to truly unlock a certain element's potential. The short way, for example, would allow you to learn Ice magic and fire magic, but neither would ever fully be mastered. The long way would only have you focusing on one element, such as fire, and like training with a weapon, you would eventually be very good with the element in almost any situation."
After Antique spoke, Merlin nodded. "And you Caxnon? How about you? Would you like to be given some rudimentary spells, or be shown your true element, your "spirit's element" ?"
Interesting... instead of giving them all of the elements, she's going to let them use one, and they will grow strong in that one quickly. She will probably make a good teacher...
Looking off distractedly, Merlin took a sip at his mug.
'' I would prefer to focus on my element.'' Caxnon said to both merlin and Jadis. Focusing on one element would be much easier than trying to balance several spells that he had no training with whatsoever.
Caxnon looked at the glowing elements around the room before speaking.

"Well first you must get acquainted with your spirit's element. Naturally it wouldn't as hard to learn and master, since it's a part of you. To find it, you'll literally have to abandon all thoughts for it won't be clouded, because merely thinking of what element you like or what you think you are can easily pull you away from actuality." With a flex of her fingers, the cups rose, which each element beared inside. The fire still burned; the water continued to flow; the air remained ever-stiring, and the earth remained still. The last was still empty.
"Now you all you have to do is recline to a calm state. Shutting your eyes would be an easy route for that. In your mind begin reciting the elements. After a while your unconscious will pull you towards one in particular meaning that you will forget to recite a few element except one, your spiritual element."
"So shall we begin..."
(Sorry about the delay. I practically forgot about this hidden thread).
Antique nodded, watching the bowls lift into the air before her. It was pretty amazing, making things levitate like that. If it had been months ago, she would have probably ran away screaming or tried to slice her sword through it. Especially with how thick the mist was around it. It was almost as if someone really didn't want her to learn this stuff. There was a bit of a warning in the back of her mind, warning her that she was crossing some unknown line here...but Antique was stubborn. She'd do it anyway.
Repeat the words?
She took a deep breath, and sighed deeply, shutting her eyes, trying to empty her mind--which wasn't an easy thing to do. She appeared care-free, but the girl was on edge, alot. Like trying to ask a bird or a rabbit to calm down...which never really ever happened. Clear her mind. Clear it. She felt Clarent next to her, knew Jadis was there, and knew that, somehow, she'd be okay.
Pulling her legs up into her chest and wrapping her arms around them, she lay her head to rest on her knees. A bit of a weird one here, but it was also her sleeping position.
Darkness. She let thought slip from her mind, though it was a bit of an effort. Now, those elements again? Oh, yes.
Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Spirit.
She chanted them in her head like a mantra.
In the darkness, she saw the bowls surround her. She stared on, as the bowls circled around her. Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Spirit. Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Spirit. Faster and faster they circled, as she recited them.
Fire.
Water.
Wind.
Earth.
Spirit.
The bowls surrounded her until they became a blur. Her head snapped in the direction as she watched a bowl fly from the circle. Water, Wind, Earth, Spirit. The bowl of fire knocked itself out, and tumbled over, effectively putting itself out. Water, Wind, Earth, Spirit.
The second bowl flew out of formation, and toppled out. She felt a breeze pass by her before the wind disappeared. Earth, Spirit, Water. Fuchsia eyes widened as a very large tree, a tree as large as a world, appear before her unseeing eyes, while vines in the real world crawled up the chairs legs, sprouting pink flowers along the way, curling along her feet. She was completely unaware of this, however.
Three bowls remained as she chanted, her lips quietly saying the words. The vines began to grow thorns as they latched onto Antique's legs. Her face flinched a bit, but she kept on chanting the manta. The three bowls continued to circle each other, repeatedly. The Earth bowl began to wobble, however, and it fell, but not as dramatically as the wind and fire bowl. It wobbled on the floor, still full of the Earth. The vines around her leg retreated, almost as if it were an angry snake.
Circling around her head now, were the two bowls. Spirit and Water. Spirit, and Water. The Spirit Bowl seemed to simply disappear, the Water bowl remaining.
The smelled the ocean. She felt gentle waves, but she also saw a tsunami engulfing entire cities. The saw gentle brooks, rivers, and lakes, but also ice like rain and mudslides. She saw floods and gentle snows, bubbles and an oasis.
She saw herself reflected in the water; reaching out, she touched it. The image of herself in the water grabbed her hand and dragged her in. And yet, she wasn't afraid.
Antique's eyes shot open, though dazedly. She felt the water around Merlin's Hut move around the island, and the other rocks. But she felt herself move it as well. Very, very subtly. It was very weird. Very very weird.
She lifted up her head between her knees, her hands slowly traveling up to the sides of her head. She saw Jadis, and something just kind of. Clicked. It clicked in her head. She inhaled deeply, water gathering like a pillar around her chair, lifting the thing up--and she did what anyone would do who knew nothing about magic.
She panicked. The water responded by engulfing her in a vial before them. There was no control, whatsoever.
