In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

The time for lounging was over; then again, Elaeus never really lounged to the fullest extent. Recently, he allowed himself to unleash some tension. Holding it in a bit longer may become hazardous when it isn't needed; for example, it would be idiotic to break out when the black pieces move to take out the white pawns.
Going wild without thought can be hindering and push them back further than where they were. For some reason, the Earth Titan doubted other members would control themselves; he could already see The Typhoon Angler and the Seed of Darkness act chaotically. The purpose of this wasn't to destroy the world, but to invade and keep. If they make a big mess, then the two would be responsible to tend to it
It was time to get back on track or no one that would occur. Running fingers through his hair, Elaeus sighed as he lingered in a dark realm. He knew that Roze left immediately to play his role accordingly, and the Heartless thought it wouldn't take as long as Dilan and Seed. The prior pacifist Heartless was to collect a boy, Maverick. He was none to be weak-hearted, and it would make everything easier for both of them. If Maverick was to struggle, then the Earth Titan would have to induce force, which would be more damaging.
The only transportation Roze had was the Dark portalling system, and there Elaeus would wait until a familiar scent reach his nose.
For the time being, he contemplated, a famous pasttime. There was currently a new member to the Dark XII. The group was labeled twelve for a purpose. They were suppossed to compose the opposites of the Nobodies, Organization XIII. This one was immediately pressed into the ranks. So Xehanort, Ansem, had finally found another lingering Heartless. By process of elimination, the Earth Titan crossed of Braig was to Xigbar, Dilan was to Xaldin, Even was to Vexen, Ienzo was to Zexion, Myde was to Demyx, Lord U was to Luxord, Relena was to Larxene, and Lea was to Axel. Two were missing.
Dammit...
It was taking him to long to remember. His brows wrinkled at. How could he forget about the impeciable nuisance that Ienzo was to keep a tight leash on, Marluxia. The sound of the name could start a low growl and a quaver. For now, Elaeus wouldn't comment unless asked. Ansem knew the precaution of the union and would arrange limitations he felt needed. With Marluxia, there was a keyblade wielder, who was too close to Era. Shaking his head, Elaeus frowned how his mind went of track.
What was the other Nobody?
Saix...
The new member, who entered the ranks, was Sai. What was his specialty, Elaeus didn't know, but it may relate to Saix, the Lunar Diviner, to keep the balance between Heartless and Nobody.
For once there was too many going at once at a slow pace. With so many running around to get task done, there was a new member, and Elaeus was waiting for a pawn. The Earth Titan wondered if Sai was informed about anything; he doubt Ansem would leave him in the dark...unless it was highly necessary.
Maverick, laying face down on the "floor" of the realm of darkness, tried with all his might to get up and run. That was all that was in his mind now, run. Run from Roze, run from Elaeus, run from....everyone. No one loved him, no one would accept him. The only entity that did was the very thing that he hated, but yet it haunted him.
"Come on...just have...to...run..just need....to...live"[/i] Mavericks thoughts were racing as he barely got on one knee and looked through the eternal darkness before him. He had seen it so many times, but now he felt like this darkness was the same reflecting in his heart and now....his mind. "Come on! I have to live! I have to protect my freinds...they need me. Sora....I need to see him again. No, he's a warrior of light. He would sense my darkness and kill me, wouldn't he? What about everyone else, I can sense their fear when I am around...maybe...maybe I do belong in darkness..."[/i]
Maverick shook as he pulled himself up on his two legs, he grasped his left shoulder as he hobbled through the darkness, his mind still racing and a pain grew in his heart with each step.
"You'll never be good enough Maverick!"
"You're worthless Maverick!"
"You're...you're a monster!"
"I'm sorry....my son..."
Painful memories flooded his mind with each step he took, his eyes wincing in pain as each memory brought more greif and heartache until.....it suddenly stopped. Everything seemed to halt as if time itself took a break. Maverick himself stopped and slowly looked around him, the swirling vapors of the Darkness seemed to be focusing in one spot. Something in his heart was telling him to go there, to go into the comferting darkness. With Mavericks mind screaming no, but his heart screaming yes, his legs carried him to the swirling darkness. As he neared it an image of another being slowly came into sight, a human? No, a human would not be able to survive if darkness was swirling into them.
When Maverick got closer to see who it was he almost fell backwards as he sensed that dark man. Elaeus, the heartless who almost killed him twice in one month. The man who shattered Mavericks moral and sent his mind down this path. In his mind Maverick was already running, running away from this, running deeper into the darkness than staying and seeing Elaeus. His legs, however, were frozen in place, not budging an inch until something made them. Words were wanting to be spoken but Maverick was simply to afraid to do anything.

(o-o really? -.- I hate how my pc is too slow to find those threads)
Hm?
Someone entered the birthplace of heartless, and it wasn't Roze, because the scent was far from roses. His brows dipped in curiosity instead of hostility. The newcomer didn't called the need for his tiger claws, but the heart had triggered the shadows, neoshadows, and other purebred heartless to ripple from the blackness. They didn't move a muscle; like Maverick they saw and sensed Elaeus' presence. Some people may claim that Elaeus was linient, but the heartless proved otherwise.
"So you are alive. I would've said 'alive and well', but it's clear that you're not." The Earth Titan spoke smoothly. "Funny how I am seeing the same boy who ran at the mouth in Twilight Town, the pawn of the Organization. I wonder what happened to him you seem severly shakened, and it isn't only by me either."
A hand reached out and touched the clutched shoulder, "Does the weight of your heart affect you that much? It's quite unfortunate how some carry more burdens than others, and those who could assist eliviating it didn't. In a sense,....they failed you."
"Do you remember what you said? Maybe I can recall those memories of yours." Elaeus strolled around the boy deep in thought as he crawled through the corridors of his heart searching for a particular memory. "Your purpose maybe what...sacrificing..."
He lefted the quote opened waiting for the youth to catch on. "I'm sure Roze didn't leave you in the dark, so you know why I'm here. There's enough who are set a stray and don't even hear their calling. Do you hear it Maverick? You can't fight it; well you can, but it will only make matters worse."
Stopping the Heartless stretched out a hand, "I have a remedy for that, and that is here with darkness and all of those with it."
Mavericks eyes flickered as Elaeus spoke and walked to him. He wanted to attack him right here and now, even if it cost him his life. He knew he was destined to die, he knew he was going to do bad things. But...he wanted to help, but why couldn't he? Why couldn't he be the man his father was and protect everyone? Why?
"I..I...I." Mavericks words were stammering as his shoulder tensed up from the touch of Elaeus' hand. A quick step back was all Maverick could acomplish to try and distance himself from the Heartless. He could feel him digging through his heart, and when Elaeus pulled out a long forgotten memory, Maverick's eyes widened as his mind replayed what he said in Twilight Town over and over again.
"Maybe my purpose is to sacrifice my heart to the darkness.[/color]
Maverick clutched his head in an attempt to stop the painful memory from playing. He feel to his knees as Elaeus spoke more about how weak and pathetic he was. Had his friends really abondoned him? Was he simply being used? Was he truly the pawn Elaeus told him out to be?
His heart was weighing heavilly against his sanity and inner light. The darkness wanted in, it wanted a home in Maverick. It offered comfort, release from all his ailments, and power. "Do I really have no other purpose? Am I destined to be a pawn my whole life? Or was this set up from the beginning? Were my friends in on it? And Sora?"[/i] Maverick sadly thought as he pulled himself up and faced Elaeus.
He mustered up some strength and tried to make a bone sword come out of his hand but the instant it neared his skin a sudden wave of pain hit his body. Like his ability lost power to distort his skin and heal it, was it the darkness doing this? Was it trying to lure him in by giving him no hope in this matter? He face twisted with pain as he limped towrads Elaeus and told him.
"I...I lied before. I was simply trying to help King Mickey, to get in the Organization and gather information. To no surprise I failed and Saix was the one assigned to hunt me down. Ironic really, for me to try and save everyone and not be able to save my sorry self. But...but I have one thing left, just one thing that my heart will fight with. The memory of Sora, he saved my life and brought me back from the dark path. As long as I am alive I will not betray what he did. For my freinds, for my honor. I wont..." Maverick's knee gave out a couple feet from Elaeus and he could do was laugh softly to himself.
He looked up at the Heartless and chuckled, "I must look pretty pathetic right now, but I need to know. Why me? You say yourself I am no good. Why spend your time on the reject of light and rejector of darkness..."

"You're simply no good in the condition you're in." Elaeus replied with ease as if he had seen that coming.
"He brought you from the dark path, but here you are...you're in it once again. Did he really saved your life or preventing the inevitable? Will this Sora continue to draw you away, which may be your central purpose. You may claimed that you lied, but...perhaps you're just fooling yourself like so many do."
Elaeus' shook his head, "How ironic. You have done so much, and even dare put yourself in a dead sentence attempting to inflitrate the Organization. I wonder where is this King Mickey and Sora now. From what I see, they aren't taking the sacrifice you did. Yet again you're thrust in a scenario as a pawn, and like many pawns they are taken out and no one hardly defends them. They are known as the weakest piece in the game."
"It only hold one value, once getting to the other side it can summon back a lost piece. Unfortunately, in their game, that wasn't your task." Elaeus grasp hold of the pained individual. "If you know me well, you will know I don't waste my time for a lost cause or a pathetic one. What you're going through is a mere temporary stage."
"There's another similar to you. Like yourself, he's the reject of light, but a rejector of darkness. There he was like you fighting who he was, and when the truth is revealed as clear as rain he nearly shattered. Everyone could easily let you shatter; actually I find it that you're close to that breaking point than you think." Elaeus began to unravel the blindfold from his eyes. Maverick maybe the first to see his eyes. The same eyes that was rumored to hold the curse of Medusa.
"Rejecting what is a part of you is what led you through the turmoil such as: serving a king who's hardly available, being saved by a Keyblade wielder who's probably not thinking about you, a child of darkness who is being hunted down by nothingness as the light simply turn their back or watch." The wrapped blindfold was held around his neck.
"I refuse to stand by and watch, especially when one is ignorant of his purpose when standing so close to it. You can try to fight it, but it will only bring more pain. Where are your friends now? They are all around you." His eyes snapped open beckoning the darkness with Maverick's heart.
"Saix won't get a chance near you, and you will be where you belong. Not even a keyblade wielder can alter fate; he failed you by allowing you to walk the path of acceptance alone with its wretching pain caused by your own rejection. Would you betray yourself for the likes of others?" His hand formed into darkness allowing it to go into Maverick's chest.
Maverick's head sunk low as he thought on Elaeus' words. He got lost in so many problems of others he forgot about his own, he had unknowingly begun to walk to same path he had before he met Sora. His own good mannered deeds had turned on him, funny how things turned out to be. One by one memories of all his friends flashed through his mind. His time in Radient Garden and helping Erika and Max, the Underworld and his match with Mikael, metting Sora and the King. Was it all just a hoax? Perhaps Elaeus was right, his friends have tuned on Maverick. Would they not be here helping him if they had not?
But what Elaeus said of Sora and Mickey made sense, even if Maverick did not want to believe it. He had tried to do so much for them to make their lives easier, he put his life before others and he had gotten nothing in return execpt more heartache. He slammed his fist into the dark soil as his mind now went through every bad memory he had of his "friends". Max insulting and attack Roze for no reason, Sora and Mickey not helping Maverick with his burns in the Castle and only wanting to get rid of Marluxia. Erika using him to get the harlot in Portl Royal to go away and not speaking to him sense. Erika not looking him in the eye after the Twilight Town incident. Him almost killing Ikari in the Great Maw.
"Why!? I've done nothing but help all of you! I've helped you through immposiable fights, helped you understand the darkness. Even tried to get help from you to get rid of mine. And I get nothing in return!!?" Maverick screamed in his head as tears now began to trickle down his face as Elaeus spoke. The Heartless' words were barely heard save for the most daming against his friends. He was right, Sora pulled him from the dark path to walk a fake one alone. Alone with no one to talk to about his pains, his griefs about everything. Mickey and the others helped.
"Tch, I know enough to see that you've been planning this. But I don't care, it's all to clear. I don't belong in light, too many heartaches and betrayels litter that path. I guess...I guess I can't be the hero I wanted to be huh?" Maverick whispered painfully, his heart was now weak, vunerable to the darkness that was seeping in. He watched as Elaeus unfolded his blindfold and revealed his eyes, a terrifing dark abyss seemed to be swirling in them. It seemed.....seemed comforting.
"I see, I understand now. I allowed myself to put in so many situations that I knew I could not accomplish. I wanted to do good things, I wanted to be the hero. Hehe, I guess....I guess I'm not the person I thought I was. Now I..." Mavericks words were silenced as a sudden wave of darkness was brought into his body, even Elaeus has sunk his hand in his chest and was tainting his heart. With his mind panicking, Maverick grabbed the Heartless by the arm encased in his chest and tried to pull it out, his arms were simply like a block of lead, they grasped but did not move.
"What....are....you doing Elaeus? What....arghhhh!!!!" Maveick howled as the darkness began to seep into his mind as well.

"I'm helping you," his eyes illiminated as yellow slits formed in his eyes showing the similarity yellow glow that purebred heartless had. "Who said you can't be a hero? The terms light and darkness are trivial. We live in a similar world, but just reversed. If you would just accept, you won't have to shed another tear like you just did."
Elaeus mildly looked down at the grasp Maverick had before allowing his body to lightening into an embodiment of darkness. With a tug, his body transported through Maverick leaving a dark strand in him. "There I'm connected to you. That will keep the darkness in your heart in check for it won't go overboard with your emotions. It should be enough for heartless to not bother you, and if Saix should ever come near you, it won't be hard to call on me."
"Think of it as an apology for giving you a hard time." Gripping his blindfold, Elaeus ripped it before tieing it back on. Walking towards Maverick from behind, he wrapped it tightly around his eyes. "I would advise you to keep that one for a while atleat until your heart can settle. Come with me; running away wouldn't benefit you, I can easily find you."
The blindfold was premiable allowing him to see out, but no one to look in. With a wave of his hand, a hole ripped open leading them to Elaeus' room. In a way through the series of events, Maverick would be considered a recruit. This one wouldn't be a pawn, but a swell knight.
"N....n....." Maverick tried to speak but his throat was locked up from his heart being filled with darkness and trying, although failing, to rid it of the element. As Elaeus passed through his body all the pain and grief dissapeared for a mere second. Strange, it had been so long since Maverick felt this way.
"What......n...n..now?" Maverick studdered as he got his feet after his heart had been tainted. But before he could say more a blindfold was put around his eyes. He figuered as much since a sudden exposure to darkness would make on more sensatice to light. But this is the right choice....right? Thats what Maverick thought as he walked into the dark corridor and into his new life.

Exiting the realm, he entered his room and study. His finger pointed at what would be considered a bed. It wasn't like a natural bed with a mattress and ecetera; it imaged a coffin more with the comfort of radiating darkness in low soothing vibrations. When did a Heartless ever needed a comfort of a bed; Lexaeus had his body, so trinkets out of bodily comfort was hardly found. Snapping, he ceased the bedded cacoon to stop. The last thing he needed was Maverick drunk with darkness; his heart had enough to cope with.
"Get in...," his voice broke the silence giving the order, "you need the rest, especially if you are to put up with everyone else here. Since you're still human, I'm sure they can wear you out with their...peculiar personalities. You may meet one soon with their tendecies of emerging randomly."
Elaeus walked towards his desk sitting in the chair with a pair of bookcases on each side of the walls the desk laid between. His fingers wiggled lightly as a check list appeared in his hand and a pen in the other. This was typical Elaeus busying himself with work; he had is good ole R&R, which meant rotting chaos on a world. Humming lowly, he gave a whistle, and low grumble was given in respone from the shadows in a corner.
"Who else is in here?" A brow arched awaiting an answer not surprised to get a growl.
"Hm, I assume he haven't came back with him either." Elaeus truly didn't want to put up Marluxia anytime to soon. A meeting with him would be inevitable from his last updated message. "Is she still lingering about or did she made a move yet to pick him up too?"
A whimper was his reply. The gaian simply didn't know making the Heartless sigh. Must he do everything? He already thought a lot to make sure nothing went wrong. Running fingers through his hair, he waved his hand dismissing the heartless.
"Are you feeling the slightest better? You were so non-articulate earlier."
Maverick slowly stepped into the castle and gazed upon the walls and seeping darkness that coated the rocks and everything else. Was this the Castle of the Heartless? Or was it simply the room of Elaeus? Maverick didn't really care which, he was lost in his own mind. But the first thing he was told was to sleep....wait...sleep? It would make sense, after all he had been through Maverick was feeling very tired. But he wanted some answers first.
Slunking himself over to the coffin and sat on the cover of it first before he asked Elaeus, "What do you mean others? I know there are many Heartless but more like you? And yes...I guess I am feeling better. Alot can change after what just happened..." In his mind Maverick was speaking rather loud but his voice to others was low, almost a loud whisper.
He looked around the room and saw many books. His eyes, still getting used to seeing through so much darkness could barely make out the titles. Maverick assumed they were books dealing with the Heartless/Nobodies/Keyblades. He wanted to read one but he would never be able to make it though the first page without falling asleep.

"You think I'm the only one. I find that flattering. It seems that you have been left in the dark for far too long. Don't worry about that; they will make themselves known...trust me. It's hardly a time when they don't. In the meantime, you take a rest." The Heartless instructed, while flipping through pages.
"When you awaken, I'll indulge your curiosity, but now your health is more important than that. If I do leave this room which would be slime, you'll be supervise so there's no need to for any possible worries." A Gaia stepped out of its shadow. It was a class 2 with its rocky form with magma warming its body from the inside. It's tail was ignited on fire as it swayed lightly. Walking forward, its head nudged Maverick's leg before curling up at the base of the bed. It's head remained high looking up at him.
Propping his foot on the desk, Elaeus closed his eyes to think and ponder. "The gaia will...a companion if you will for you. Free feel to even give a name, but for now it's bed for you."
Mavericks eyes began to flicker as what Elaeus called a Gaia neared him and nudged his legs to go into the coffin to sleep. "Fine, but I also want to know if I can ever see my former "friends" again. For sentimental reasons....and...fo..." Maverick had already slipped into the coffin and drifted asleep as he spoke, he was more tired than he thought. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hohohohoho. Got yourself a new toy did ya Elaeus? Can we keep this one this time?" Seed giggled as he poked his head out of the shadows and walked to Elaeus and proped himself on a chair near his desk. He glanced at the coffin and stuck his tounge out at the Gaia who growled at Seed when he looked at him.
"Wait a second...I know that kid. Maxerix..no...Maverick thats it! Wait, wasn't he all "pro-light" and all that jazz? So how'd ya do it? I know Roze couldn't have done that to him, he's too weak and peacful. Speaking of him, I need to voice my concern about that fellow"
Post by Ellie who has 0% on Oct 26, 2009 9:42:52 GMT -4
"He'll be staying here...," Elaeus answered looking towards Seed.
"So you known him. I wonder how famous he is out in the worlds; he personally knows Sora." The Heartless stretched before reclining back in his chair. "I have a way with being persuasive. You can learn that on a later date." His fingers laced together had his thumbs fiddled curious about Seed's concern. "This is a first. When have you ever been the concerned type? I'm sure you have your reason, so fire away."
A brow perked in wonder. It seemed a bit out of character for Seed of all people, who tended to be carefree. Dilan, he could suspect this from. Now his concerned was towards Roze, a new recruit who smelled of roses and was previously a pacafist. What had occured to make Seed uneasy or was it simply someone else's concern?
Post by shinjihirako on Oct 26, 2009 18:28:23 GMT -4
The World That Never Was... a world filled with the nobodies and the heartless. An ideal world for everyone but those of the light. Roze had always found this world interesting and rose a question or two the primary being of how exactly this world came to exist. He had seen several heartless come and go through the streets and every now and then approaching him. Maverick had escaped and disappeared but from the darkness within him he could tell that he would not go to a world filled with light. If he was here then he could either capture him or convince him. For now though he would rest.
He slipped a case out from his jacket and opened the case to Memory and Thought, his violin and bow. He rested it against his chin and began playing a soft subtle tune. As he played the smell of roses drifted outward and surprising several shadows rose from the ground and started to gather around him. Either it was the smell or the music or a combination of both the heartless seemed to enjoy it. He continued to play enjoying the sound of the music he made.
Tch, typical of Elaeus to see Seed painted black and white with his mind state. Seed could be concerned with whatever he wanted, after all, he was concerned with his first mission. He had no idea of what to expect when he joined the XII. It left him a little uneasy sometimes, he is fine now, but now Roze gives him the same feeling.
He crossed his arms and bit his lip to think of what could be the reason. "Sora? Isn't that the Keybearer that you guys want killed? How did ol' Maverick come across him? Would seem that Sora would kill Maverick because of his darkness. But that's not what I want to talk about. It's Roze, something about him seems strange."
But just as Seed began talking about him, the smell of Rozes darkness reached his nose. Just perfect. Now Seed knew Elaeus was going to ruffle his hair and say it will be fine but Seed wanted to ask him anyway, "I want to look into him for some time. Just to quell my curiosity is all.."
