In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Darkness. The beginning of everything... as well as the end. Through the dark streets of Traverse Town, the young fire user ran, wanting to escape from everything that surrounded him. Was he hiding? Yes. Was he afraid? Indeed he was. Mikael was not worried about his life, though; he was worried about her, and the possibility of harming her. Sure, Jadis was there to protect her... but how could she know of his fall? He couldn't risk it... not anymore. Spotting an empty, dark alley, Mikael quickly entered, wondering if he was going crazy.
"There's no turning back now..."
There couldn't be redemption for him now. He had plunged deeper into the darkness. The man leaned on the wall, thinking about his last encounter with Antique. The smell of her... the softness of her dark blue hair... she was perfect. But... could she love him? Probably not... who would love a monster like him, anyway? The roles had changed: now he was the oddity.
"Gah!" Maverick yelped as the huge. blunt blade of a Berserker Nobody hit him the side and sent him crashing into a wall. Maverick fell to the stone ground and groaned softly as he got up, he wiped the blood off his lip and charged at the beast. Maverick reached behind him and his spinal cord was edging out his skin and he yanked it out and lashed it. It wrapped around the waist and cut deep, effectively immobilizing it as well. Maverick leaped into the air and fired off several rounds of bone fragments from his finger tips. Each one pelted the skull of the Berserker and it fell to its knees, making the bone whip attached to it cut even deeper and then it died. Puffing into white fluff to be devoured by darkness.
Maverick landed and find himself panting, not out of tiredness but from blood lust. He stopped immediately when he realized this and staggered back as he brought his hands to his face and stared in horror. Sure he had killed before but not for fun, and he certainly never enjoyed it. It must be the darkness, it was growing deeper and deeper. Soon it will cloud all of his judgment and turn him evil. He had to run, even though it wouldn't help it made him feel better. Maverick broke into a fast run as he shuffled past the few people here and his eye sash almost slipped off from wind flow.
"Just run, run, run, that's all I can do. All I have left, my freedom is not mine. Damn you Elaeus.'[/i] Maverick was screaming in his head as he ducked into a dark ally and leaned his back up against the wall and slid down breathing heavily. He stopped and almost got up when he sensed someone else was here as well. He scanned there area with his eyes and only could sense heat, not a Heartless or Nobody, someone he knew from awhile ago and...no, it couldn't be could it?
"Mikael? Is that you?" Maverick asked somewhat weakly as he slowly got up praying it was his friend and not someone else.
"Relax, nothing bad's going to happen to her. You'll keep your distance." Mikael breathed slowly, trying to give his psyche some peace. The previous outburst of darkness, however, was not helping. He had seen it; his heart consumed by the darkness. He had seen himself slaying all of them: Caxnon, Max, Drago, Reiho, Fearon, Maverick and Rubix. The darkness had shown him slaying her. Hopefully, by keeping his distance and mastering the monster within, no familiar blood would be spilled.
He had also thought about going to Jadis and make her kill him or something. But after all, that would be too risky. She always kept Antique close; a sudden darkness rage near her, and she could be no more. "So... this is the only way, huh? Going away? Hiding? Seeking punishment? But perhaps... perhaps he wasn't responsible for the darkness in his heart? Perhaps he was just another victim of the darkness? It was a possibility... though unlikely to Mikael.
Suddenly, he heard quick footsteps toward his direction. The man drew out Flame's End, wondering if a Heartless was nearby. Closing his eyes, the fire user sensed the auras around him. There was a group of nobodies not far from there; empty auras. Mikael focused in front of him; he couldn't believe it until the bone manipulator spoke. "Mav- Maverick?" He weakly replied, blinking in the darkness. Suddenly, the image of the boy's death came to his mind.
"Go away... stay away from me! I'm a danger to all of you!" He started walking deeper into the alley. "I have fallen deep into the darkness... I don't want to hurt you in one of my rages."
Maverick let out a sigh of relief when he heard Mikael’s voice and he got to his feet and walked to Mikael. He just wanted to give his friend a hug and tell him everything that has happened. From the time of his tainting, Maverick was beginning to feel so alone he wanted to end it all. He never believed his friends turned against him, but Elaeus took advantage of his weakness and convinced him otherwise.
“Yes, yes it is Mikael. You have no idea how glad I am to know you’re alive. After leaving the Underworld, I had a feeling I was never going to see you again. Not alive anyway. But th—“ Maverick froze when Mikeal uttered those words. Fallen? Into the darkness? But Mikael had such a strong light energy in his heart. He knew that darkness was evil and needed to be destroyed. So how could he have fallen to it?
”No, no, no, no, NO!!” Maverick screamed as he slammed his fists into the wall, His mind was filling with hatred for Mikael, not for the person, but for the darkness that was in him and growing. He began to hate Elaeus, he convinced Maverick that all his friends will submit to darkness and it seemed he was right. Maverick stopped when he saw he was putting a good sized hole in the wall and blood was streaming from his hands as well as tears going down his face. He started to walk to Mikael and asked him a very simple question,
”When?”

Mikael stopped dead that as the boy screamed, a bit shocked by his reaction. He would have expected him to either try to bring him back to the light, go away or kill him. It somewhat warmed him, knowing that his friend really cared about him. But he couldn't open the gate to his heart just now. He couldn't let the sickness devour him. In the darkness of the alley, tears were created in the pyro's blue eyes, just to travel down his cheeks. Mikael didn't want this... not at all.
"Mav-Maverick." he whispered the name in such a low voice. It pained him, seeing the older boy in such moment of rage and sorrow. A soft sigh escaped his lips, just before hearing the million dollar question.
"When?"
When? It had all started in that encounter with Jadis the White Witch. The orb of darkness had decreased the amount of light in his heart, causing the minor dive with Drago hours later. Everything has been ok for the past weeks... just to be ruined by Kousei and his arrogance. It enraged the fire user, creating all sorts of negative emotions in his heart. Thus, increasing the level of darkness in his heart once more.
"Not long ago... that orb of darkness made by Jadis decreased my light. I could keep the darkness in check for some time... until today. All those emotions: hate, sadness, disappointment and rage... they set the monster free." His voice was breaking now, he didn't want to go on any further. "I don't want to harm anyone... I'm a danger to you. For now, the darkness is hidden, but it can show itself anytime soon."
But perhaps... he, Maverick could do it. He could finish it all. "Maverick... if I am, or perhaps was your friend... please finish this. Kill me, destroy the darkness within my heart!"
Mavericks mind flickered when Mikael mentioned that a woman by the name of Jadis sent an orb of darkness into him. Wait, the lady he left a few days ago went by the name Jadis...the two couldn't be one in the same could they? But how? That woman Maverick was with seemed kind, gentle, and generally caring. Could she really be the one at fault for his friends downward spiral into the dark?
"No, it doesn't matter now. The Mikael I know is still in there, wanting this to be over. The light wont give up...on him. I just don't belong in its shining wonder."[/i] Maverick stopped walking as his thoughts continued to flicker between Mikael at the Disney Castle raid to Jadis to Elaeus and then back to Mikael. Its official, all of this was his fault, if he hadn't came in contact with Mikael, he might still be normal. All....his....fault. But as Maverick heard Mikael's plead for death he jerked his head to the side like he had been slapped. His friend was wanting death? No, not when some hope for him could remain.
"Mikael...I...have to show you something..." Maverick almost said to quietly for the man to hear. He ran up and grabbed his arm and drug him out to the main streets, into the light. He let him go and took a few paces ahead of Mikael and turned to face him. His arms outstretched as if to greet him, a small howl began to fill the air as the shadows around Maverick crept up his body like a snake slithering across a floor. It focused itself in his hand and formed small black wisps of darkness. Swaying back and forth as if to mock both of them for falling from grace.
"You're not as alone as you think you are Mikael. You don't need to die. This isn't a life sentence...there's a man. I could ask him to help you control it...." Maverick sounded almost hurt as he said it. Never would he want this on his friends. He belonged in the darkness. Not them.

Mikael's eyes squinted while he was dragged outside the alley. He wondered what was going on in Maverick's head, and what was he going to show him. Was he going to let him choose the way he wished to die? The boy just wanted to go out of existence... to poof. Suddenly, the pyro felt light all over his face as Maverick let his arm go. He looked at his friend curiously, his eyes full of confusion.
The shadows surrounding him started to climb the bone manipulator's body, with a dancer's grace. Mikael's eyes widened as they watched the entire scene. So, was Maverick... like him? Was he a being of darkness as well? He watched the dark smoke, dancing in the older boy's hand. Hearing him speak once more, Mikael looked deep into his dark eyes, wondering if Maverick was going to help him.
"Who... Who is this man you speak of?" he weakly asked, ignoring the light from the nearby street lamps. What if this person... this man willing to help... what if he was the enemy? No, that couldn't be right. Maverick was his friend, he wouldn't send him to an eternal doom. Mikael could trust him... right?
Maverick stopped the darkness that was beginning to cover his entire arm and it retreated back into the ground. He gave a heavy sigh as he turned his back to Mikael and thought on who to bring him to. Seed seemed like too much for Mikael to handle, that crazy Heartless would more than likely drive Mikael deeper into the dark. Elaeus...last resort. Ever. Mavericks eyes twitched on how he just realized how easily Mikael agreed on meeting whoever Maverick decided to bring him too. Either his friend is so desperate to become normal or has already fallen to the darkness and is just playing around with his emotions.
"I...I don't know who to bring you too. Each one is as evil as the last, with one being the last person I would want anyone to meet. Are....you sure you want to control the dark? I can do terrible things to people, look at me. Hated by everyone....almost everyone." Maverick opened a portal in the center of the space between himself and Mikael.
"If you want to meet them face to face then enter. If you want to go unconscious...than fight..." Maverick retorted as the last two words seemed to burn his throat as they came out.
Mikael watched as the man sent the darkness back down, sending it back where it belonged; in the shadows. Something just didn't feel right. Seeing Maverick control these quantities of darkness was kinda... shocking and creepy to the boy. His right hand instinctly turned into a fist, thinking about the consequences of becoming one with darkness. He carefully listened to the older man's words, catching the word "evil".
"They were so dazzling, I ran away- I was always weak."
Releasing a short gasp, Mikael watched the portal of darkness open between Maverick and him. He was tempted to go inside for a moment, but a part of him wanted to stop this madness. His eyes squinted for a moment as he started to wonder about all of his friends' reactions if he gave in completely into the darkness.
"I- I don't hate you, Maverick." he began, not knowing if he should step forward or backwards. "Your heart is not dark and evil; I'm sure there are others who feel the same way." Mikael took a step forward, looking deep into the dark portal. He had made his choice.
"I let go, frustrated by the fact that I couldn't stay unchanged since that day. Couldn't stay unchanged forever."
"You are right, this isn't a life sentence. We all have a choice... we can turn this curse into a blessing if we want." Maverick would probably think he was nuts at that point. But the young pyro did not care. He was getting the courage and valor he needed as the seconds passed by. "Darkness is not evil." He plainly stated looking up at the sky.
"It depends on how you use it. These people... these Heartless... the ones corrupting the worlds. They use darkness for their own selfish reasons."
Seed.
Braig.
"Others are simply dragged along, with empty promises of eternal peace."
Roze.
"Many people have lost their homes because of them... their power is irresistible for the other Heartless." The puzzle's pieces fell together slowly, connecting the entire picture. "I believe I can do a difference..." Mikael walked around the portal, approaching Maverick. "If we unite and fight together, we will make a stand. We can save many worlds from vanishing... or perhaps give others more time to prepare."
The pyro smirked, his gaze fixed in the bone manipulator's face. "I shouldn't have come to whine about this. That brought many negative emotions... hatred, sorrow, fear. Perhaps controlling my emotions... might make me able to control the darkness within." Mikael looked back at the portal for a moment.
"What do these people you know use the darkness for?"
Maverick smiled as Mikael was beginning to sound like his old self again. His friends spirits seemed high, which is a good thing for the current situation. Maverick let himself doubt his will and strength and became one with dark and he will be damned if he allows himself to stand idly by as his friends stand at the same crossroads he stood at.
"...That's what I thought from the beginning Mikael. I knew deep down that no one hated me. Elaeus was..." Maverick stopped himself as he put his left hand over his heart. Where Elaeus' darkness held a tight grip on his heart, just waiting to pull down into the dark void. Mavericks eye twitched as a pain shot through his body with the epicenter being his heart, his darkness was getting excited again. He gave a cough but as he pulled his hand away he saw it was covered on small blots of blood. Never a good sign.
Maverick quickly turned from Mikael and walked past the portal, closing it as he neared it. "No, I wont be able to fight against them with you...But I'll help you put a group together to fight them. I know some people, maybe." Maverick pondered on who these people he spoke of actually where. Sora would only be mad if he saw what Maverick had become, the King as well. Erika and Max! Of course, they should be able to help.
"That's it! We can get--" Maverick shouted excitedly as he turned to face Mikael again but as he did the same pain that shot through him just minutes before came back with more kick to it. Maverick doubled over in pain and stumbled to a wall and leaned on it with his right hand as his left covered his chest where his heart would be. His eyes were glued to the ground where his shadow was twisting and curling at an ominous rate.
Mikael's face was filled with concern as Maverick stopped talking. The man's hand was over his heart, as if it was paining him. However, before the younger boy could say anything, Maverick had started walking before closing the portal. Was he missing something? From the look he had seen at Maverick's face, he was not ok at all. Briefly running a hand through his hair, he began to wonder what would be Max's reaction if Maverick helped them. After all, the water user was not fond of the darkness.
However, before Mikael could ask why he couldn't help them, the bone manipulator had collided with a nearby wall of concrete, his hand over his heart once again. Yep, something was wrong. "Maverick!" The pyro shouted, running to his friend's side. Horror filled the boy's psyche as the older man's shadow started to move around in a crazy rage.
"We need to get out of here, Mav." he said, putting a hand on his shoulder. As soon as he touched the man, however, pain filled the fire user's body. His darkness had appearantly reacted to Maverick's. Mikael's eyes squinted as he tried to shut the pain. It was similar to the pain he felt at Olympus Coliseum and earlier at Traverse Town. In both cases he had passed out.
"No... I can't... not now." Mikael's energy was being drained rapidly, making him unable to move. He felt... exhausted.
Maverick could instantly feel his darkness try and coax out the darkness in Mikael out. The shadow below Maverick shot up his body and tried to make a connection with Mikael, but Maverick was able to suppress it just in time. A tendril was about to make contact and who knows what would happened. Maverick tried to get back to his feet but the pain was too great, maybe Elaeus was trying to turn him into a Heartless at this moment.
"N..No. I wont let you Elaeus..." Maverick said weakly as he barely shoved Mikael's hand off his shoulder and finally got to his feet. But his shadow flew up and swirled over his body. Maverick let out a scream as he bashed his head against the wall and the shadow went back down to the ground. Except it left a gift, Mavericks eyes were now yellow as the sash around his eyes was absorbed by his shadow. With a tremor in his hands he reached up and felt his eyes as to feel for himself they were still there.
He turned to face Mikael and he said with pain in his voice, "I knew it..I'm dangerous to everyone around me. I...I have to leave Mikael, please. Please try and fight this. Good-bye..." Maverick turned back around and began to run as fast he could. And he was back at square one. Running was all he could do now.
Mikael was unable to hear or see until Maverick stopped the contact between them. Feeling energy comming back to his energy, the pyro was able to hear the scream. "Ma.. Maverick..." he weakly breathed, not really knowing what was really going on.
Mikael stood up, using the wall as support. Slowly turning around, Mikael glanced at his friend. "No..." He sighed, looking deep into those yellow eyes. Heartless eyes. "No... Maverick..." Mikael manage to stand without leaning on the wall. He felt a bit stronger than a few moments ago.
Indeed, Maverick was back at the beginning of the game, and Mikael didn´t want that. He couldn´t be a Heartless... not him. Hiding the worst scenario deep in his heart, Mikael raised his head, just to see Maverick run away.
"Don´t go... no Maverick, come back!" But the boy had left already. Mikael sat down, hiding his face between his legs. He was not crying; he was frustrated and angry at himself. Maybe he could have helped him. A soft sigh escaped his lips; there was nothing he could do now.
(Now it ends....after my post xD, just adding a little something else)
High above the shadows and the buildings overlooking the ally way where Maverick and Mikael were a green haired man was sitting and watching the entire scene unfold. He gave his smirks and chuckles every now and then as the two talked about the darkness, the man was half wanting to hop down and whack them around but something held him back. But his curiosity was tweaked when he saw Mavericks eyes turn yellow, the classic sign of the darkness securing its victory of a heart.
"Well, well little Maverick. Welcome to the club." the man almost laughed as a portal enveloped him and carried him away to give this news to Elaeus.
