In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

As Heaven dropped the sphere into his hand, he looked at it with wonder. "A recording sphere, huh?" he said. "This will teach me of Aeons...." He trailed off, looking at his feet. "Heaven" he said "when I first saw you I knew you were a presence of good and a light of hope. But I also felt a connection, one that drew me to you. I can't explain it, but it makes me feel more full than I have been in a while. Its not love, but something more complicated. I feel......." he trailed of again, blushing. "I haven't felt this way since I last saw my sister, but when I lost her, my soul filled with despair." He looked into Heaven's eyes and said, "Thank you."
Heaven smiled at him as she activated the sphere, causing a holographic movie to appear. "See? Look, this one is Oblivion, a dragon-like Aeon, the first Aeon I aquired," the sphere shows Heaven standing outside the temple of Bevelle, summoning Oblivion who soon appears for all to see, she smiles up at the dragon-like Aeon whilst he stares down at her.
"Then there's Crystaria, she looks almost human, doesn't she? She controls Ice" the female Aeon stands beside Heaven outside the Macalania Temple for all to see, Heaven is congratulated by many for her success.
She smiled over at him. "Oh, and here, this is Staliya, a horse-like Aeon that controls Thunder," The sphere shows Heaven at the Tenple of Djose, Staliya throws her on his back and trots around, she smiles and laughs, stroking him before getting down off him and petting his neck.
"This one is Aurora, he controls Fire, he's not as threatening as he seems," the scene changes to the Temple of Kilika where Heaven is trying to calm young children down due to Aurora's aggressive demeanour.
"Then there's Xephyr, she's quite bird-like, she's a beautiful Aeon, very gentle," Heaven is shown outside the Temple of Besaid on the shoulder of Xephyr as she soars through the air, the villagers watch in awe.
She continued to watch the sphere. "Ah, don't be scared by this one, she's Asylum, a remarkable Aeon, she may she terrifying, but she's very gentle and protective..." this time, the location is unknown due to it being slightly dark, Heaven is shown face to face with Asylum, not at all afraid, instead, she places her forehead against the Aeon's forehead and smiles at Asylum.
As the sphere continued to play, her eyes widen as he spoke. "I-I...ex-excuse me?" she almost cried as he mentioned the word 'love' and his sister, she took a small step back "wh-what do you mean? I...don't understand..." what could be more complicated than love? And more importantly, why'd he bring it up? She tried to steady her rapid heartbeat as he stared at her...
Arthas recoiled at Heaven's reaction, surprised. He hadn't expected her to react like this, and he had obviously caught her off guard. "I'm sorry Heaven." said Arthas. "What I meant to say is that you reminded me of my little sister, Erica. I didn't mean to surprise you." He watched as she seemed to calm down, and said "Those aeons, they were magnificent. But how do you summon them? It confused me when Kova explained it, since he uses a different speech pattern than humans. Is it possible.....you could show me?" he finished.
Heaven didn't know what it was, but...his words, if anything, they...hurt her, she couldn't really understand it to be honest...
"Y-Your...sister?" she said, somewhat sadly "o-of course...how silly of me to think that it would've been..." she trailed off as her eyes narrowed, she sighed and shook her head "I digress..." she then walked slightly away from him and over to the edge of the rocky shore, staring down at the water.
"It...would've been pointless anyway...surely...you know what happens to a Summoner once they've completed their pilgrimage..." she could feel a warm water-like substance run down her cheeks, tears. She tried to keep this hidden from him...
"I'm...not even sure...how to Summon anymore due to my two years on living away from Spira..." she sighed, ripples formed on the water's surface, the cause were her tears...
Arthas was shocked at her words. "Two years, huh?" he sighed, kicking at a stone. "That's gotta be hard on you." Then he saw that she was kneeling at the water's edge. "He walked over to her and put an arm over her shoulder. "You know, when I left Tranvia, I lost any hope of seeing my sister again. We were separated as the Heartless killed our parents. But I came to realize that my sister's will was adamant, and she would not succumb to the Heartless. I know, deep in my heart of hearts, that we will meet again. But you must not lose hope either, for hope is all we have for our goals." His own words made him feel sad, and he blushed as tears started falling down his face. "I will find her. I will never stop looking. And no one will change that, ever." He sat down next to Heaven and saw that she was crying too. "Hey, don't be sad." he said. "I'll be with you to the end, whether it be victory or defeat. I made you that promise, Lady Heaven." Then he took his silver necklace from his neck and put it in her hand. "Take this." he said. "This will be proof that we're in this together."
That was it, during her two years of being here, not once did Heaven cry...she had kept it in for this long, but now...she had to let it out, she placed her fingertips to her mouth, trying to cover up the sound of her gentle sobs. "Wh-When...or if...I defeat Sin in order to bring the calm...I will...become High Summoner...but I..." she hugged her knees with one arm "I'll no longer...be alive...my life...will be sacrificed...but...I know my parents, Lord Shiruba and Lady Ayla, they'll be proud...and...if I die...I'll get to see them again..." though the very thought scared her, but she knew it was her destiny...she had to die in order to save Spira...
She looked over at him tearfully as he placed a necklace in her hand, she gazed down at it, still crying. "Sir Arthas...I-I...don't want you to share my fate..." she looked down sadly, holding the necklace close to her.
"One's fate isn't chiseled in stone, Lady Heaven." said Arthas, now worried. "Is there any possible way that death can be prevented in the Final Summon? If not, I will still follow you anywhere as your Guardian." He chuckled. "I was raised to greet death like an old friend and know that when it comes my time to die, I will go in peace. So, Lady Heaven, I will travel with you to the end.....and beyond." At this, he hugged her and whispered, "Always, Lady Heaven. I will always be there for you."
At that moment, so much swam through Heaven's thoughts, such feelings built up inside, but there were too many to decipher, let alone understand. She looked down, her hair gently fell in her pale yet desolate features. "I'm afraid, there is no other way...Summoners must peforming the Final Summon, and quite often, their Guardian-!" Heaven stopped, realising her mistake! What if she did return home? What if he came with her? She'd have to..."a G-Guardian...must be...sacrificed...I..." she shook her head "Sir Arthas, I've realised my mistake, please resign, it's not fair to put you through this..." she looked up at him, still crying softly.
It felt odd as he wrapped his arms around her, it felt anxiously...wonderful, there could've been many reasons for this feeling, some negative and positive, some confusing yet beautiful at the same time. She didn't want to talk for she knew that it would most likely ruin everything, so she just gazed up at him questionably yet tearfully, their noses just inches away.
Holding Heaven, Arthas realized that she didn't want any others but her to die in defeating Sin. He understood her feelings, but thought differently. In his mind, he vowed to himself to protect this girl as long as he lived. "Heaven...." he said, still holding her. "I will consider the resignation, but for now, let's find your Aeons. As we travel, I will think this over. You needn't worry, though. If I am with you as you summon the Final Aeon, I will stand by your side and protect you with all my strength. It is my destiny, and I feel that the path is right." He wiped her tears off and said, "Let's find your Aeons, my Lady." He got out of the hug, bt still held Heaven's hand, as proof that they were now in this together. Looking into the distance, Arthas said, "Do you think its possible that the creature in that stone can be called, Lady Heaven. I believe that you can do it, and doing so may help me sense your aeons."
Heaven was...almost lost for words, he was...o loyal, brave and...sincere, it just made her feel so safe and secure, like nothing could harm her, the very feeling itself was amazing, she just could not understand what it was, she knew what is was about this man that made her feel like this, but...what was the actual feeling?
She sighed and just shook her head. "Sir Arthas, I am...so grateful to you, you have...it almost feels as if...you have given me everything..." she smiled softly at him as her eyes met his again, slowly, she carefully removed her hands from his and placed them behind her neck. Gently, she removed her silver, single angel wing necklace from her neck, an possession of great value and importance.
"This...was my Mother's, it has kept me going ever since she and my Father died, I feel...that it has protected me...and now..." she smiled at him as she wrapped her arms around his neck, her cheek brushed against his as she put the necklace around his neck "...I want you to have it..." she slowly pulled away, still smiling softly at him, but with a hint of shyness.
"Thank you...Sir Arthas" with those words she lightly kissed his forehead, a sign of respect and honour, maybe something more?
She then looked away and down at the stone. "Hmm, when I recieved my Aeons, I needed to gain a mental link with them, I'm afraid that link my have gone..." she said, somewhat sadly "it took me weeks to gain the links, so it may take a while with this..."
Arthas touched the angel wing around his neck, stunned. "Lady Heaven....." he said. "I can not thank you enough." Then he heard her mention the mental link with her aeons. "Hmmmm......" he said, thinking. "It would be helpful knowing which aeon it was in that crystal. But here isn't the place to do that. Do you have anywhere else in mind?"
Heaven smiled slightly at his reaction, but later shook her head at his question. "I'm afraid not..." she said, a little down "gaining the mental link may even take weeks...I wouldn't want to waste any of your time by doing something that may not even work..." with that, she stood up, walking slightly away from him whilst looking at her surroundings.
"This place..." she sighed "...nothing like Spira...no warm sandy islands, no beautiful waves...or birds flying over me..." she closed her eyes, trying to picture a place like Besaid, but she couldn't without actually picturing the same place.
She then looked over at Arthas and smiled before looking away. "Sir Arthas...?" she asked quietly "...if...you know of a place like the one I just described...would you...take me there?...We'll go...together, won't we?" she smiled at that last part.
"I'd go anywhere...just so long as I'm with you..." gently, she reached up to stroke the chain around her neck, a single tear ran down her cheek as she closed her eyes.
"Beaches, sand and birds....." Arthas thought for a second, then snapped his fingers. "I've got it!" he said. "You ever been to Destiny Islands, my Lady? Its beautifal there, I'm sure you'll love it." He took her hand and took out his Force Card, holding it up to the wall. "Destiny Islands!" he said, watching as the portal opened to the other world. "Let's go, Heaven." said Arthas, walking into the portal.
