In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Rellen was trying, but she couldn’t do this. Her hands fell apart and the lock shattered with a strange unlocking sound as if something had opened, the rocks from the roof started falling down and down towards the floor, the ones that had been leant on the shield fell through and Rellen’s eyes wept a few red tinted tears.
Wiping them to the floor she quickly inhaled heavily and spoke to the man. “ Erm… Hello?” She spoke clearly to the man that was panting heavily. “ My name Is Rellen, thank you for saving me from that bomb… I didn’t realise it was a bomb until it starting increasing in size” she smiled apologetically before handing the man one of the few things she did have, a bottle of water. A droplet of blood was running down the side of the bottle and Rellen started to wrap a large white bandage around the physical wound of her head.
The arm was sprained probably, nothing serious, just needed to go careful with it. The head just needed rest. However, the internal bleeding she’d have to just wait for her body to heal itself, there was nothing she could do. A nosebleed, the blood seeped out, and by any standards a nosebleed was quite a common thing. Wiping a bit of bandage to her nose she asked “ So what is your name, and how come you followed me into the cave…”
She walked towards the cave wall before sitting down and held her bag in between her legs, ruffling around she observed what gems she had left, thankfully she had quite a variety, she placed some of them on the floor, she was looking for a certain gem… There it was. She grasped the shard and crushed it in her hand, it glowed white for a second and with a single word in a different tongue changed into a potion which she quickly applied to her head. “ Will you be needing one?” she asked looking up from her backpack.
((I still say that dropping the spell is your first action, and that's the one I'm responding to. So meh.))
When the light of the spell went out, plunging them into darkness (when you had a stranglehold over the only light source it made it hard to see,) Locke grabbed the woman - she hadn't looked up to much fleeing at that moment - and kept going, because cave-ins rarely stop where you want them to, and rocks bounce.
It was really only a second or two of noise and confusion before the ceiling finished tumbling - which was good, because Locke was really hoping he could remember where the turn was before running into it, and now it didn't matter.
He let go of the woman and peeled his fingers from the light crystal. The light pushed back the darkness, reveling the state of the corridor and the state of the woman, who looked bloody and awful.
"Are you -" and he had to pant for a moment before he could talk. "Are you alright?" He could see she wasn't, of course.

((Hope this ones a bit better >.<))
Rellen stood there as the guy had got through the tunnel, just about to congratulate him and begin the healing process for them both, her mouth opened for a mere second before she was grabbed, the grab took the wind out of her, the man was gone and she was being dragged as the roof continued to collapse. She should have made a bigger shield. She saw just inches away from her dragging feet rocks tumble down along the corridors. She didn’t know this would happen, the roof was still collapsing even though it was out of the circular dome, then it struck her, caves weren’t like houses, each room wasn’t supported by the walls around, in a cave it must be vastly different and she had no knowledge of how any of it worked.
I was so not prepared for this…
Finally they went round a bend they stopped. The man opened his hand and some kind of light shone on the two of them, the object itself looked familiar but she was too tired and her eyes were blurred from being in darkness to illuminated light. "Are you -" the man started panting, she couldn’t blame him, he had just run practically dragging her, yet he still had such a speed, did he really run that fast? "Are you alright?" he finally finished, the light illuminating her face and she saw his.
“Yes, I’m fine” she said feeling the blood dripping down the back of her head. “Although I think I’m bleeding…” her voice was quite innocent and she dropped her bag and took out a few potions placing them on the floor “Take some if you need them, you must be hurt after fighting that bomb” she then commenced using a potion and sighing in relief.
“So… What are you doing in here?” she asked out of curiosity.
Locke quashed the worry. She had potions, she'd be fine. Adventurers never thanked you for worrying about them, anyway. He'd keep an eye on her.
"No, I'm - hang on," he did a quick mental rundown, rolling his shoulders and checking for injuries. "Yeah, I'm fine."
Exploring," he shrugged. It was a fairly noncommittal answer, but had the added benefit of truth. "What about you? What brings you out to the middle of nowhere?"

“Me. Oh Erm.” She couldn’t let on that she was here for the treasure, as much as she liked sharing, she couldn’t let the cat out of the bag but couldn’t lie… what could she do… “Searching” it wasn’t a lie… just not the whole truth… now what could she be searching for. “ For… a thing”
SEARCHING FOR A THING!?! her inner voice screamed at her A child could make a better excuse than that!
“So Mr. Explorer as you’ve probably noticed Im not the most… experienced at these kinds of things, may I accompany you on your exploring?” If she was with him then if any more nasties came along he could take them out surely. Rellen was far from a fighter. “ I can be useful honest!”
His expression closed. He shouldn't let her. He really shouldn't, he could get her killed. But.... a thing. That she didn't want to talk about. She'd go after it on her own, almost certainly - she'd been planning to.
Well, Mister Treasure Hunter?
And that was all there was to choosing, after all. His shuttered face opened into a rakish laughing grin. "My name's Locke," he said, holding out a hand to shake.

He was staring at her, it was kind of creepy and she made that awkward smile as if to say hello, what are you staring at. Something was going on in this guy’s head.
Then, finally the hand, “Locke? You can call me Rellen, I would use titles but I doubt formalities and titles have a place here” She giggled slightly as she took the mans hand and shook it firmly. “ Ok, well if you can deal with the monsters… I can deal with the any of the doors and hopefully a few traps too.” She looked at him, still smiling and prepared things in her bag.
Rummaging around she removed two synthesising crystals and placed them into her pockets, she then took two more and left them in her hands. “ If a trap occurs ill try and get up a quick shield so that we don’t get skewered or any other kind of nasty thing.” Her smile changing to one of confusion she let out a whimper “ Do you know were we are going, I’m pretty much lost now”
Locke raised the light and looked over the tumbled cave-in. He blanched, but recovered quickly enough to keep his voice steady.
"This way, I think," he said, gesturing deeper into the caves. There would be no going back the way they had come in, and any question of not working together had suddenly become quite moot.
"So, Rellen, what do you do? Besides keeping me from getting my fool head bashed in, I mean."
There's not much choice in where to go that's visible to go forward into the caves that hasn't been blocked access. There's a small winding branch off to the right, a path that goes straight as far as visibility allows or where the wall slopes down - a short climb downwards into another level of cavern.

Rellen now fully /combat/ ready walked briskly after Locke, having to take two strides to his one it was a difficult task just keeping up. She couldn’t really tell were she was going, it seemed like they was going down but she wasn’t completely sure, either way, it was getting darker, she sure hoped Locke had a light.
“Oh me? I was the Royal Locksmith of Queen Tiara. I learnt a lot through my fathers work, its how it worked on my world. You learnt the trait of your family, the trait was passed on in the form of secrets that only your family knew. Such as the marks and chants to create my locks and keys. I also learnt a little bit of transmutation, changing crystal substance into more useful objects” She flashed the crystal in her hand to Locke briefly. “What about you Locke, what do you do?”
It was then that she realised she had let on quite a lot of information without ensuring that she would gain much information in return.
Locke noticed, and shortened his stride slightly as he fished out a cord. He bound the light crystal to the cord and looped it over his neck. It cast odd shadows behind then, but it left his hands free.
"A little of this, a little of that. I'm a Returner," he said cheerfully. "I find things, do some monster hunting -- I fight long range when I can and short range when I have to, and I have a little magic."

Slowing her speed to a normal pace thanks to Locke slowing down she stood to his side now, the gem lighting up in front of them, wow… were the hell was they? It was a good job she didn’t try this thing alone.
” A returner? What’s one of those?” she asked curiously her stare glaring up him, hoping she didn’t walk into a wall or something equally embarrassing.
Walking onwards she let the other question waltz in the air for a while, thinking… thinking… how to explain. “ The art of transmutation is what I do for most things, we adapt that art to create locks, that /shield/ was actually a lock that I created over you, however it shattered when it sustained damage and I couldn’t force it up anymore.” She hummed for a few more seconds. “ It’s also how I make other things, on many planets you have creatures called Moogles, they are masters of transmutation” she hummed a few times more before clicking her tongue “ They call it something different though”
How could he even start to explain about the Returners? "Returners.... Oh, hang on." He held up the light as they neared where the path opened, gesturing for her to stay back as he went ahead a bit.

Rellen walked directly into his hand as she was paying not attention to were she was going, she was so focused on the guy that she walked with she didn’t even notice the pitch black in front of them. “ Oh” she stumbled the words out of her mouth before shuffling backwards slightly as Locke traversed ahead to investigate.
Clutching both crystals she tightened her grip to the point of her hands aching, she knew that if something happened she might have to help, but she didn’t even know what could happen, she was totally unprepared for this kind of adventure.
“Hey Locke, you’re gonna be ok right?” she asked as he walked further on.
