In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Let's get ice cream!" Lily said. "We haven't gone for ice cream in forever!"
The [insert name here] was in Traverse for resupplying. Traverse was a good place for it, because you could find most things there - it was kind of a trade hub. You never knew what you would run across. For the moment though, shopping was done, and Lily happily swung shopping bags from her arms. It was kind of nice to not go fighting for a day.
"And we didn't go on your birthday," she explained to Shiru.
Tanner was admiring his brand new mark board from across the shop. It was slow in the shop, as usual, but that never worried him. Business always came in waves and spurts. It gave him time to make sure his shop was well kept.
Bull's Eye's Ice Cream (It hits the spot) was one of the only ice cream shops in Traverse. Located in the safe First District, the front was adorned with a large target. It had an erratic schedule, seeing how there was no day or night here, and the fact that the proprietor was often out on adventures, trying to expand to other worlds.
Oh right! I got new marks! Tanner finished wiping down the counter, and grabbed the manila folder he had revived. Shuffling through the contents, he found a mark for a strange Neo-shadow that had been popping up in the Third District, A quest for adventurers in that ocean world, and a few more lost/found people notices. People with amnesia would post up descriptions of themselves to see if anyone would recognize them, and people missing family would be looking for them as well. The board was a useful way to get info around.
Specifically, they were here as a group because the last time Shiru had gone out alone to resupply, he ended up forgetting all about it. It was not the first time he'd done that, and therefore had come as a surprise to no one.
He grinned in reply, shrugging. "We didn't on yours, either." As it turned out, he'd forgotten that registering as crew in the [insert name here]'s databanks required a date of birth. Lily had been the one to rediscover that. "But! Ice cream? Sounds really good. Know a place?"

Red Mage, as usual, had an answer. He had put ten points in Knowledge: Knowledge this morning, and it was working wonders.
"Well, we could wander around aimlessly, looking for an ice cream side quest. Or we could follow the dot on my mini-map! It's on Bullseye Ice Cream, and the guy a few posts ago is there, so we should probably meet him."
It was always good to take RM's suggestions with caution - -he had a way of saying things that were entirely backwards and would get you dead. On the other hand ---
"Bulls-eye? Wasn't he at that last tourney? That sounds good."
It also wasn't worth arguing with him about how the world worked. You just kind of had to go with it and remember who he was.
All Shiru did was shrug. Red Mage almost never made full sense, and he'd long ago quit trying to make full sense of it. Just run with what you did catch.
Shiru would have almost said ice cream, if not for the other option. Bounties, or quests...? Whatever it was, it sounded intriguing enough for him to ask about.
No sooner had the phrase 'Mark Board' come out of the clerk's mouth than Red Mage had right-clicked on it and was scanning available quests.
"Accept accept accept....SHARE! Ok guys. Looks like there's a mysterious tower that needs to be looked at, but that's an old one and the name is in red. Hmm, there's a shadow in the third district causing trouble, we could probably do that one...Ooh! And someone's offering 30% off an introductory Yoga class!"
Lily figured the other two had that under control, and looked instead at the menu on the wall. And looked, and looked, and looked....... It was huge and completely overwhelming. Where to even start?!
"Wait...... What's that?" She pointed to one corner where the last bar had, instead of words, a familiar red-on-black heart with a jagged cross-though in it.
"The mark board is something new we are trying. A way for adventurers to know what's out there to be done. People come in with problems or quests, and I post them up for adventures to take care of. Among other things."
Juggling conversations, he swapped over to the girl's question. "That one is Heartless flavor. Yes, it's made with real heartless. It's hard to make and not very good, but most people order it at least once, just for the bragging rights."
"And besides, I've seen towers before," Shiru responded almost automatically to RM's initial quest hook. However, it was soon replaced with a grin - especially after the other's comment. "So, questing, huh? Sure, I'm game! It's been a long time since we went on an adventure. Too long, if you ask me. --wait, what." The last part wasn't a question as much as it was a flat comment, and directed to the second answer given. "Heartless?"
Heartless flavor ice cream apparently didn't escape his notice, since it completely distracted him from the mark board. He expected it to be awful, and it had just the right ring of 'soylent green'. Heartless used to be things. People. Sentient things. It wasn't a comforting idea, that they could be used as an ingredient. Sure, he'd eat meat, but who knew what a Heartless used to be? For all he knew, it could have been someone. Killing them was one thing - he could rule that out as putting them out of their misery. But eating them.. he wasn't so sure about.
"Uh... we're an adventuring party, not the Donner party here. Just saying."
