In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

He glanced at the photo, nodded, passed it along to Demyx.
All of the rest of the suggestions and comments were met with a lackadaisical shrug. "Where've I heard that before." He shrugged, drained the rest of his beer, and proceeded to toss and catch the empty can a few times. "Th'way I see it, it's a fifty-fifty chance. It either works, or we're all gonna die."
He didn't say much else on the topic. The beer can was suspended in midair now, spinning; now and then Xigbar would flick it to spin the other way.
How helpful.

Lexaeus nodded as Zexion and Vexen gave their ideas and concerns about the matter. If Vexen was to, once more, begin his replication work, Seed would be a very promising test subject indeed. The only matter of concern would be Elaeus' insightful thinking. Any anomaly in the behavior of the replica and Elaeus could easily pick up on it and destroy it, that is if Vexens plans were to use his work to gain a spy amongst the XII. But Lexaeus doubted such a reckless idea would be in Vexens line of work. What should happen next is deciding who to send against Seed, if Lexaeus himself were to go surely the young Heartless would sense that something was a foot.
"If we are all in agreement then I suggest that two of us should find Seed. Zexion, would it be possible for you to track the movement of this Heartless if he taps into his Spacial powers or even through the use of illusions? And Demyx," the Hero said quite loud to "wake" up the Water Nobody, "I advise you pay attention to this because it is you that I wish to speak to in a moment. I have heard of stories coming from Traverse Town and Twilight Town of increased activity of Heartless and of human like witches rising from the darkness and that Demyx is where I would like to ask you a favor, or rather an order. I would like for you to go to Traverse Town and see if you can come across the identity of this Witch that has named herself a "ruler"of sorts. That is, if Xigbar or Vexen have no other jobs for you."
Lexaeus glanced back over to see Xigbar playing with his can of beer and he sighed silently. In the absence of Xemans, Xigabr assumes control and his attitude does not come across as one of concern. Time to see if Xigbar knows of what is going on,"And what of you Xigbar? Have you any news of Xemnas or Ansem? I lack of activity of both is disturbing to me."
"Wait... wh- I didn't volunteer for this!" Demyx exclaimed and bolted up in his chair. Unfortunately, before the youngest nobody present could protest and explain exactly why it was a bad idea to send him, Vexen and every other darn member continued on without him.
Dejectedly the musician placed his head in his hands, waiting (for once) patiently for his turn to talk to come along. Honestly, just because he wasn't one of the higher ranking members didn't mean they could bully him... right?
So far all of the things that were being suggested did sound familiar, as far as he knew. The water wielder did not like where this was going, considering how he'd been one of the first to be killed off before... the nobody would give alot not to kick the bucket again, if he could help it.
All this cloning, tracking, and recruiting sounded very crazy to Demyx. Surely his baffled and dumbfounded expression showed exactly how much.
"A witch? Sounds kind of sketchy if you ask me." He announced. "Hey, you know what? I'm sure someone else could do a much better job than me!" By this time the blond was shuffling uncomfortably in his seat and looking just a bit more than unnerved.
"...Anyways. Just because McSuperior-pants and everyone else isn't here doesn't mean you can all just dump all the work on me-" he finished his sentence with a weak laugh. "That wouldn't be very fair..." He mumbled to himself.
Zexion was mildly amused by Demyx's- well, not outraged so much as shocked- reaction to being told what he was to do, with no input from the man himself. He wondered when the Melodious Nocturne was going to realize that he was probably going to be the butt of the Organization's jokes for the rest of the group's existence? Though, Zexion did not show his amusement. He was too focused on the task at hand, and he wasn't as carefree as some of his fellow Nobodies- making jokes time and time again.
Zexion nodded to the task set to him by Lexaeus. "It would be possible for me to watch the Heartless boy. Also fitting, with my abilities. Though one thing makes me cautious- what if he is able to, through his own version of illusion abilities, see through or otherwise sense my own illusions? I could see this turning very badly, with our Heartless counterparts learning of our plan and also weakness. Of course, I would go to any extent to keep that a secret, but it may be possible that my strength in this assignment could turn into a very painful weakness," he told the Nobody. If he didn't know better, he'd think that the Silent Hero was starting to take a leading position. What with the lack of concern on Xigbar's part, he couldn't really complain. Plus, Lexaeus had a higher rank than that of Zexion, so he really didn't have a choice but to take the task, given the hierarchy within the Organization.
Of course, though, the illusive abilities of Seed weren't Zexion's only worry- if Riku could see through his illusions, why shouldn't anyone else be able to? Was his strength failing him? This doubt was the very reason that Zexion rarely depended on his illusions to survive these days- now he was forced to hide behind lesser Nobodies. How pathetic was that?
"Nothing." The Freeshooter shrugged. "As far as I can tell, they've both vanished."
For once, Xigbar's tone shifted then, to something that sounded actually serious. "Real question is if the Dark XII are still in contact with Ansem or not. If they're operatin' on their own, we could try to make them split apart. Ask who's in charge, and why it's not someone else. If they're anything like we are, that's pro'lly enough to start something. If ya don't wanna go to Traverse," he continued, fixing Demyx with a very unpleasant grin, "you could always go poke at that hornet's nest."
He was guessing that Demyx would take the Traverse assignment over that possibility. Pestering the Dark XII was best left to someone not immediately recognizable as an Organization member. They were bringing up the possibility of apprentices? Well. Unless it played out as badly for them as it did for Ansem the Wise, they could have some use after all.
”I see, that is what I feared” Lexaeus said quickly when Xigbar told the group that he knows nothing on the missing leaders. Perhaps this is a test for both; watch what the group does without the constant support of their master. If that is the case Organization XIII is surely falling behind. The chain of command falls to Xigbar with the absence of both Saix and Xemnas, then it would fall to Vexen; but the scientist would be too wrapped up in his own work to lead such a group. So it is up to Lexaeus and Xigbar to pick up the pieces of the Nobody group. The Hero didn’t bother to answer the concerns of Demyx just yet, the slacker can wait.
”You concerns are well met Zexion,” the Hero said to the Schemer, ”That is why I will be going with you to track down Seed, he will prove to be a most interesting target. For Vexen and us as well.” V finished as he waited for any other news or questions from the others. He almost forgot about the Melodious Nocturne and his ilk.
”Yes Demyx, why not go in the Hornets nest. A good sting may be just the thing you need. I will give you this piece of advice before you leave, I have heard of a psychic roaming the area as well. The Witch and the Psychic may be connected. Report back anything you find about the two.” V finished his assignment to Demyx and waited once more for a complaint from his mouth.
Several words could be used to describe the ninth member's posture at this very moment. Some good ones perhaps, would be- rigid, uncomfortable, and on edge. Despite this the youth couldn't help the (More than likely out of wrecked nerves but sardonic perhaps-- after all) grin from appearing on his face.
"Uhhh... Yeah y'know what? I think I'd rather go to Traverse Town!" He began shakily, half expecting to be subjected to more assignments being passed on to him. Somehow the Melodious Nocturne got the feeling that they were enjoying his torment...
"As awesome as risking my life sounds...." He rambled off.
Eye contact was not very likely as a loose thread had become very much more interesting to the blond then any other person in the room could ever be. Quietly within the confines of his own mind Demyx blissfully enjoyed passive aggressive comments on each and every member in the room-- no doubt things he would not say to their face in fear of certain death, yet he enjoyed them anyway.
Zexion was not surprised by the news that Xemnas had been missing. Being unreachable for long could only mean that he was nowhere to be seen. He was slightly disheartened, but not enough to show. At least the Heartless Ansem was also gone, which meant that the Dark XII were vulnerable in the same way.
Also, now knowing that Lexaeus would be accompanying him to watch Seed made Zexion feel a bit better. Not because it worried him too much, but because he would have backup. Stilll, it would be a dangerous mission. It was a good thing it was Lexaeus, because he was perhaps the closest to Zexion than anyone else within the Organization. But, despite their time in Castle Oblivion, the Silent Hero was his Superior. Number VI could live with it, though. "I understand," is all he said, accompanied by a slight nod and eye contact from behind his steel blue hair.
He then sighed with Demyx's predictable reaction. Zexion disliked that Nobody- mainly because he was largely useless. Well, sure, he was a humanoid Nobody, but Zexion was sure he could be replaced. But when trying to choose underlings, he supposed that there wouldn't be many of the special Nobodies to spare.
Vexen had remained silent for a while now. His hands in front of him, the fingertips touching. As he was lost in deep pondering. He had heard every word that was spoken in the room. The plan being formulated by Lexaeus and Zexion. The protesting of Demyx and the reasonings of Xigbar.
Tilting his head back to look up to the other members in their higher seats he smiled softly. His long dull hair gently brushed back over his shoulders. As his cold eyes pierced throughout the room without focusing at anyone in particular.
With a slow and subtle beckoning of his hand, the image of Seed flew over to him. Descending down the round room where nothing gathers. Until it hovered in front of the chilly academic. Without blinking, the scientist studied the image intensely. As if he was to decipher the secrets of this strange creature merely by looking at it's picture. After a long stare, Vexen relaxed and leaned back into his chair. He waved with the palm of his hand over the image and it lighted up. Splitting in two and reforming as two images were now floating in front of him. A copy for himself. The copy then broke into tiny particles and dissolved into the air. Sending it to his labs with all his other files.
Glancing upward again he said:" Lexaeus, Zexion,... When you find this... Seed,... be sure to inform me so I may study him. In the meantime I shall return to castle oblivion in the world between worlds. It is there where my replica puppet program originated and there alone where I can commence again. ...And I understand that nobody else is looking after the place, so I shall also take the duty of guarding and maintaining that place for now. It is vital that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands."
Vexen halted and awaited the response of the others. It was the most efficient and logical solution to their problem of being understaffed at the moment. His part in this meeting was now close to being done. Unless other disturbing topics would be addressed. He sat back and paid attention to the others.

((I have been completely unaware of this thread, and my need to participate in it. I never got told I should be here, and thus would have missed it, but hardly got here. I like the idea of having Organization meetings, but please, someone inform everyone that is expected to be there before we start. I am not mad, just explaining that I would like a little warning to know when these things are going on. PM is a good way to make sure you don't miss me. =]))
The term was not "tardy". It wasn't even "irresponsible". The term at hand was "fashionably late".
Or at least, that's what he told himself.
Within seconds, Axel had fully materialized in his appropriate spot. There was no apology for his tardiness, not even an acknowledgement to the conversation he got the feeling he was presently interrupting. Instead, Axel had something vital to share, and as such, everything else could go on hold.
"I was on the outskirts of Radiant Garden today, and got this brilliant idea!" He didn't bother waiting for a rebuttal to such a statement before he resumed his thought. "So currently, the residents of Radiant Garden have a barrier to keep Nobodies and Heartless out. But what if we were able to come to a mutual agreement? What was the Fire Element getting to? It was strange enough that he was being so open to the other members, but the openness probably only stemmed from the fact he felt he was onto something great.
Dramatic hand gestures that were signature Axel helped elaborate his case. "So we share one common enemy - the Heartless. All we have to do is form a treaty with the locals. They let us in, and we help them keep the Heartless at bay. We can also be reinforcements, 'cause we all know that those barriers could only last so long." He spoke as though he knew something about the barriers... perhaps had witnessed a sliver of the barrier's malfunction himself, and the more interesting his proposal became, the more he leaned forward.
A black-gloved finger and thumb pressed together at the tips. "All we've gotta do is make the bait sweet enough." Swooning was the specialty of a vampirically thin Nobody. Guylined eyes only added to the divine physique.
The lack of comrades present was of no surprise to him. He was used to seeing the halls of the castle excessively empty (on the few times he chose to return). Actually, he was more surprised at how many were still here.
He leaned back in his seat, arms crossing. Those dusty jade eyes brightly displayed his pride, gaze drifting from one member of the room to another, and his brooding smirk only grew more intense. "And here I was thinking I was alone on this endeavor..."
Their numbers may have been dwindling, but Organization Thirteen - the Nobodies who would get their Hearts back - still existed.
And here they were, meeting, most likely to embark on a new frontier... on what?
Hopefully someone would give him the rundown of their plans. After considering his brilliant scheme, of course.
((OOC: Please let me know if I have disturbed this thread. I would rather there be activity in the Organization's plot unfurlings than kill off the activity and ideas at bloom here. I would gladly revamp or remove my post if it means that this place keeps moving.
((Herrow peoples! I am the new Xaldin, so I think I'll insert him into this. Hope you guys don't mind!))
As soon as the Flurry of Dancing Flames had finished looking around, yet another dark portal appeared at the chair. The Whirlwind Lancer exited from it, sitting down and placing his hands together. He had first entered the castle to find it empty, but had a hunch the others would be here. He sat back and looked around the room, looking at the various members that were there. He was particularly surprised at how many of the Organization were there. Demyx, Axel, Xigbar, Vexen, Zexion, Lexaeus...but he did notice the absence of Xemnas. He shook his head and frowned, disappointed. How could their leader not be at one of their meetings.
The Lancer sat up straight in his chair and watched, waiting for someone else to talk.
(ooc: here's a heads up Era: you did nothing wrong. the thread was already slow before you posted. you didn't kill off anything. in fact you actually gave life to this thread again
OK, next in line to post would be Sephiroth but we all know he has a medical problem so he won't post until he's better. Demyx hasn't even posted in the activity check meaning his character is dangerously close to becoming open again. Zexion is amazing is probably waiting for other people to post and I have no idea where Goofy is.
But I'm not going to let this thread die so we'll just continue on. keep it going until others can post again.)
Vexen's face turned sour as he spotted the materialization of Axel on his chair. If there was any member of the organization that he would like to be present the least, it was certainly him. The rudeness of the red haired menace aggravated him even further. As his facial expression turned from disturbed to downright hateful. With eyes that wanted him dead Vexen looked up at Axel. He still remembered clearly the day he betrayed him in Oblivion Castle... the day Axel murdered him. It wasn't the keyblade wielder Sora, no it was him. The organizations assassin. With his chakram in Vexen's back, like a true coward.
Still the past is the past and bygones are bygones. Vexen could not let these traumatic memories of their previous lives as Nobodies distract him from his duties. Still it was beyond his comprehension why he was also broth back. As so far his actions and deeds hadn't proved at all to be trustworthy and reliable. Before Vexen however could react to Axel's little selfish rant, Xaldin appeared to join in. The seats were now really starting to get filled. Many members were now present and accounted for. The Organization was still strong.
Vexen turned his head towards the Whirlwind Lancer and welcomed him. Completely ignoring the number XII. Knowing that that would be the greatest insult that he could give him. Waving away a lock of his platina hair with his hand he spoke to Xaldin: "Welcome Xaldin, it's good that you could make it to our meeting. We're evaluating our current situation and discussing our future actions. For this reason I ask of you. What have you been doing lately and what will you now do for the good of the organization?"
Xaldin faced Vexen and nodded at him, acknowledging his welcome. He listened to the rest of what Vexen had to say and said, "Lately I have been busy studying Heartless in Beast's Castle, trying to figure out what draws Heartless to the worlds. The obvious answer would be the world's heart, but I also noticed some new Heartless that wern't at the castle when I was there." He paused to let the others ponder on that, then continued. "As for my goal for the Organization, I feel that the Heartless threat is our biggest problem. And I particularly worry about those that have also resided in the World That Never Was. From what I have heard, they are our Heartless forms and therefore can use the powers we can."
"I believe sitting here waiting for an attack is foolish. So what do I propose?" He smiled and pointed in the direction of the other castle. "We take the initiative and attack them before they get us. Not right away, but soon." He looked at Vexen and said, "If you could revive Castle Oblivion, could you possibly study advantages for us?
