In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

(boogie, if you didn't want me posting yet, let me know, and I'll remove this one. I just figured I should post pre-deadline since I hadn't done so)
Ray woke up slowly from his dream, wanting to savor the memories of his past for as long as he could, though he snapped to wakefulness when he felt himself plummeting toward the ground. Fortunately (or unfortunately, as the case may be) for him, he landed in a pool of greenish liquid, which broke his fall. "Oh my... where am I today?" Ray stood up slowly, gazing about his new environment in order to get his wits about him. As he was moving, he began to notice how his clothes were not only dry, but also not the same as his usual attire. As he moved, examining his new attire, Ray muttered to himself "I really do not look good in black, and this hat is threadbare. This attire is wholly unsuitable."
As he slowly reached up, feeling that his blue feather was still in place, Ray noticed what looked to be a small crowd forming nearby. Whilst trying and failing to remove the cobwebs and tiny skulls on his clothing, Ray walked over to the group, staying out of easy striking distance before deciding if they meant him harm. "Hello, would any of you mind informing me as to where I am? I seem to have fallen into a new world..." He made a small bow as he spoke, trying to remain friendly despite his wary attitude.
In the time that it took the group to grow in number to nine, and recognize the existence of each other, Oogie had made his way down the darkened streets, across the pumpkin patch, and up the curly hill. Fortunately, he had no way of knowing anyone had seen him kidnap the winged girl (currently "sleeping" over his shoulder), and thus had no reason to sneak or otherwise be silent. He bellowed with laughter has he thought about the entertainment he could have with this fragile young thing... and about how she may taste.
In the streets, he knocked over trashcans, leaving a path of refuse in his passing. Through the pumpkin patch, he trampled pumpkins, leaving destroyed gourds in his wake. As if these clues weren't easy enough to follow, a solid trail of live insects led right to his door; like a trail of sand from a hole in a bag.
This trail of insects climbed the Curly Hill, given evidence that it had extended for someone to cross it, and led right to the edge of a massive pit in the earth. From the depths of this pit grew a tree. Enormous, twisted, gnarled, and seemingly dead, the tree loomed like a citadel of evil. The trail of insects continued across a rickety rope bridge which spanned from the edge of the chasm to the trunk of the tree, where a path seemed to have been built right into the arboreal abomination. However, the tree itself simply swarmed with creepy crawlies. The path was no longer possibly discernible amongst the multitude. It would be nearly impossible to step anywhere without at least stepping on one. Fortunately, the path only spiraled around the tree in two directions. To the left, the path spiraled down. The one to the right spiraled upwards.

Jason felt he was rambling slightly and turned around to see that Zephyr was no longer there. His staff would appear in his hand as Jason immediately thought of the worst. He started to run back to the town square where he had seen several people from the Cafe and a few others he had not recognized. This was what Jason found unfortunate. He didn't care to see most of these people again, yet here they were, gathered among the fountain. But now, it was time to get things in order, and even more so... Figure out where Zephyr went.
The staff disappeared as he pulled out his crystal ball, immediately focusing on Zephyr. He saw the winged girl unconcious over Oogie Boogie's shoulders. "Wonderful... The person I am looking after was kidnapped by a big bag of bugs." He said silently as he put his crystal ball away and made his way toward the group, hearing them talk about himself, Zephyr, and the magic of Halloween Town.
The now ghostlike Jason spoke to them now, hopefully clearing a few things up. "Welcome to Halloween Town. Judging by your reactions toward your own appearances, you have now realized the magic of this place. All those who come here transform to appear more scary so to fit with the theme of Halloween and to keep the order among this world." He continued forward, closer to the group now, and able to explain what happened.
"Judging by the fact that you are all here, most if not all must have entered the portal for your own reasons. For those that would like, however, we have a slight problem. The girl that I was with was taken by a villain of this world known as Oogie Boogie. Essentially... He is a big bag of bugs. Most likely, he took her back to his home and will probably play with her for a bit. But I wouldn't doubt that he would try to eat her soon enough. And yes... He can do that..."
Jason would look down and see the trail of bugs leading toward the graveyard, and spiral hill. He knew which way they were going and said "Now then... For anyone who wishes to follow, you may. Otherwise, go ahead and do whatever it is you want." With that said, Jason turned around and started out toward Spiral hill, and Oogie's manor.
When he reached the hill, he pressed something behind one of the tombstones, allowing the hill to unfurl, and continued the rest of the way to Oogie's manor. When he arrived, the path was harder to follow, until it split into two paths. He would turn around and face the group that he was leading, however big it may be, and said "I guess we'll have to split up. So... Who wants to go where?"
[OOC: Now then. Keep in mind the planning thread. Here is the link. The posting order is there as well as any wonderful rules from the thread creator, Oogie Boogie!]
"Hmm, so Oogie Boogie took the girl...." Arthas put a hand to his chin, thinking about what he should do. Should he help this girl, or let the others to it. Turning to the man who had said the girl was with him, he asked, "Do you think we have a chance? Because if so..." He held up his hand, Marumasa appearing in a dark cloud of power. "I'll be glad to be of service. I'll take the upper path." And with that, he spread his wings and started walking up, ready to use the scales on them as a shield in case of an attack.
(sorry people I thought I went after Ravian sorry!)
V smiled, a new adventure! She watched as the dragon like creature took the upper path, and got really excited. It had been so long since the two personalities had some fun, and now here was there oppertunity!
She ran to the other path, and faced towards the others. "i'll help!" she said excitedly, "I'll take the other way."
And with that she took out her scythe, she couldn't wait to start moving she had a feeling this was gonna be how to say it? Awesome! (sorry for shortness)
Shiro watched as the dragon like thing chose the upper path, then V chose to take the lower path. Shiro walked to the lower path and turned around. "Okay, I believe Oogie Boogie would trap the girl where he came from. The ground. So, I'll take this path."
Shiro looked up at the sky. "I wonder what other worlds are out there..." he thought. He has never been to anywhere besides Traverse Town. He would have never thought worlds like this one existed.
He then looked back at the others. "So, lets not take too long. Each minute we waste means one minute closer that girl gets to Oogie Boogie's mouth." he told the others.
Ravian looked at the two paths and scratched his head "ummm....ummmmmm well .....I dont like making deciscions" he said "But if i have to I guess i'll take the lower pass just to make things fun"
Ravian wasn't to happy that Shiro had taken the bottom path but the girl that was going that way had a scythe even if it did have an extra blade and looked dangerous just to wield.
"Maybe I can learn something. " he thought after all by the look of the girls eye she had considerable experience fighting and she appeared slightly older than himself. "So Shiro " He said while getting his scythe off his back and looking at the path ahead "Do you know who this winged girl is or are you just here for excitement like me" He then looked at Jason "She got kidnapped by bag of bugs. How strong is this guy in a fight and how do we let each other know if we find the girl."
(Aura sensing is explained in my character thread (sort of). I sense or in other words ''see'' auras of different creatures/human etc. I just sense it, as in see how wide it is (strong/weak), bright or gloomy (if the person was good and had a bright aura it would mean hes really good inside and vice verse for evil etc.) and different colors (these are called mood auras or intentions of a person. Lets say red means anger, so it would mean I would see a person being angry for some reason inside even if he isn't showing it, it goes the same for any other color.))
People started to scatter in two different direction... And one ghost like creature told a supposedly valuable information about another monster called Oogie Boogie as it seems. Daisuke stood up, tapped around his robe and start walking. He felt a little hot in his robes and he felt like scratching, he didn't know about his appearance, but he felt a little bit different. He wasn't concerned at the moment, because supposedly a human girl was kidnapped by Oogie Boogie. So he forgot all about him and was concerned about the girl. He heard also that this world turns you into a hallowen monster to maintain order in this world, as if this is a rule. So he thought to him self:
''So if that's true... Than these ''monsters'' are actually people! Waw I must be dreaming!'' he was amazed that a world such as this existed in the universe. After his thought he walked over to the ghost like thing and said:
''I guess I should follow you... As it seems you know this place?''
he was confused. But he could feel people around him were strong. He was focused on another person who seemed to him the strongest. His aura was a burning flame sort of speak. But of course he felt no bad intentions from him, but he felt a big desire in him which he couldn't explain. He still wasn't good at aura sensing, but enough to at least understand some desires/intentions of a person. But when he looked forward he could see/sense a big dark aura coming from a distance. He was shocked from its power, of course he didn't show it and looked like he was in a calm state. He knew something bad is going to happen if they get close to that aura, that's why he was prepared and willing to do anything with his full strength.
(Sorry guys, but I'm not on alot. Very rare when I get on, so I don't want to slow down this thread. So i quit this thread.)
Kyla watched as the others left. Halloween Town. She really wanted to get off Traverse Town, and now she had. She thought about it, and she decided to stay.
"See you, guys! I think I'm going to stay here!" she yelled at the others. She turned around to see many interesting things. She then walked into Halloween Town, so she could explore. If she was going to stay here for a while, she would have to know where everything is.
(Sorry for a short post, just really didn't know how to end it.)
Ray nodded to himself as he followed Jason and the others to oogie's manor. Hmmm... it seems that might aid may help in this, and I may even make some allies out of this business. Ray smiled to himself at the thought, even as he prepared for whatever battle may come.
As he watched the others take their paths, Ray reached up to the feather in his hat, lowering it as it turned into a smooth, blue sword in his left hand. "Well, I suppose I shall take the path up. That way we are more evenly split in case of emergency." With that, Ray walked slowly upwards, gathering some energy as he went in case he needed to cast a spell due to a sudden attack. A bag of bugs may not be very resistant to my ice even if he could easily withstand my sword. Best be prepared.

[NOTE: This post is as I said before, a simple small post just saying which path I am taking. It seems that Daisuke is following me, so I say it is safe to assume that he will follow whatever path I take.]
With all the people having chosen a path, Jason pulled out his crystal ball and stared into it. The upper path was shown for him, and so with that, Jason turned toward the upper path and followed a few of them up, just to see what was possible. But before hand, he looked toward the man who asked him a question and said "If I know Oogie Boogie... We won't need to let each other know... When one finds her, we probably all will." And with that, he followed the small group through the upper path, waiting for what was still ahead.
[I'll leave it up to Oogie Boogie on if he still wants me to post right after Zephyr or if he wants to move me to the end of the line now. Thats his choice.]
With their decisions made, the group split into two. Some descending into the blackened abyss from which the great tree sprung, some ascending into the reeling blackness of the skies above towards the gnarled limbs. The wood-planked pathway creaked as the two groups made their ways towards their final destinations. For those who went up, footing was solid, but still felt uneasy. The higher they went, the more the great dead tree swayed in the foul wind. For those that went down, the story was different. They face a hazardous path of a different sort. Within only a few minutes, the darkness of the chasm engulfed them, leaving them in pitch blackness. Nay, not a hand in front of the face could be seen, let alone the path set before them. However, after a great long while of steady going, out heroes reach their next milestone.
THOSE WHO WENT UP: The path finally comes to an end at the highest most part of the trunk, where all of the gnarled limbs and branches convene to form a rounded nook. Within that nook, a rather large, yet shoddily built house stood. It was as though someone had built a full scale house out of nothing more than scrap wood. When you try the handle... the door is unlocked.
THOSE WHO WENT DOWN: The path finally comes to an end after no-one-knows how long. In the pitch blackness, it's hard to determine what it really is your standing on. Are you still on the tree? To those that reach down, coarse sand meets their hand. Indeed, you have come to the very cursed ground itself from which this evil tree sprang. You feel your way along the trunk, moving around to discover what's down there. Finally, a small, flickering light on the other side from where you touched down. A single torch is attached to the tree right next to a naturally occurring opening in its trunk between two huge roots. From the look of it... there are no more torches inside this "cavern". The one attached to the tree is all there it. What sends a shiver down your spines is that the path in the cave seems to lead downward even farther.
*** Meanwhile, somewhere deep within manor...
"BWA HA HA HA!" Oogie bellowed as he removed his load from his shoulder. She was starting to come too, but was still a little too out of it to do much... like scream. Well, that'd change soon.
Quickly, Oogie grabbed a pair of chained shackles from a surprisingly well organized table filled with all sort of torturous goodies and slapped them onto her wrists. He wrapped one hand around her wrists, the tip of it coming back to touch what would have been his own wrist, had he had one. With ease, he hefted the stirring Zephyr into air holding her at his eye-level so he could get a better look at his prize.
"Well, now, ya really ARE a dainty lil' thing ain'tcha? Lean's no good for me tonight. Too tough. I'm in the mood for something a little smoother. Looks like Ah'mma have ta tenderize ya some. HA HA HA HA-HA!"
With that, Oogie hung Zephyr by her bound wrists to a hook suspended by chains from the ceiling.
"Just hang on a second darlin'. Ah'm gonna put on some music ta put me in the cookin' mood! HA!" "hang". He just cracked himself up sometimes. With that last crack, he waddled over to a crank, which he only gave about a half turn, elevating Zephyr to a height just barely above his head. He started back in her direction. Once he was halfway between the crank and where the now fully awaken Zephyr hung, he stopped.
"LIIIIIGHTS!"
And everything went pitch black. A few moments passed of dead silence before a catchy tune began to play...
Suddenly, spotlight. The brilliant beams of white light shone down. Right on cue, Oogie began to sing as he drew closer to the suspended girl, a swing in his step.
"When skies are cloudy and grey, they're only grey for a day."
As he reached where she hung, he reached up, taking hold of her shoulder.
"So wrap your troubles in dreams, and dream your troubles away." In time to the word "wrap", he yanked his arm away, spinning Zephyr like a top. At " in dreams", he stopped her, but at "dream your" she sent her spinning again, but in the opposite direction, stopping her once again at "away".
"Until that sunshine peeps through, there's only one thing to do." Here, Oogie lifted his arm and wrapped it around her shoulder, motioning with his free hand towards the origins of the their spot light until the end of the first phrase. After "through", he withdrew his hand from over her shoulder, taking hold of the one closest to him with that hand while taking the other with his previously free hand. At "there's", he traced one hand in a semiseductive manner down her body, coming to rest at her abdomen by "do".
"Just wrap your troubles in dreams, and dream all your troubles away. At "wrap", he unceremoniously yanked away with the hand at her stomach, using his other hand on her shoulder to brace her as he literally tore her clothing away, leaving only scraps and shreds to cling to her body to keep her covered but no where near enough for her to be decent. At "dream", he once again sent his victim spinning as he himself gave a few spinning steps away from her.
"Your castles may tumble," He motioned upward theatrically, "That's fate after all," he shrugged dramatically. "Life's really funny that way. He spread his arms out and began to spin towards Zephyr again, grabbing a long roll of cloth bandage off a table as he went. right about the time that her own momentum was slowing down.
"No use to grumble." he grabbed her shoulders again. "Smile as they fall." he drew the tip of his "hand" across her mouth, tracing the shape of a smile. "Weren't you king for a day? Oogie crouched in front of the very dizzy, partially naked, and likely utterly traumatized Zephyr. He tied the end of the bandage roll to her ankle.
"Just remember that sunshine, always follows the rain. During this entire phrase, Oogie danced his way over to the crank and gave it a few spins before dancing his way back.
"So wrap your troubles in dreams..." With this, Oogie gave the girl one final spin, much mightier than the ones before. "And dream... dreeaaam your troubles away." As she spun, Oogie held the roll high, causing Zephyr's momentum to bind her tightly in the white cloth, and holding the last note until all but her eyes were covered.
"Heh heh heh..." he approached her again. "And Ah plan on dreamin' away that lil' trouble o' hunger I got..."
Jispo didn't know what to do. That great big gwomba type thing had taken Zephyr, slung her over its shoulder and just walked away. The flying hinko had watched the whole scene from a distance, as he was not about to put himself in a dangerous position, not after what happened to that greal. He had watched helplessly from the roof of a building as Zephyr was dragged away.
He had followed them for a distance, but abandoned that once he realized that there was nothing he could do. He couldn’t fight the creature; it would eat him! And he was of no help dead. He had to find someone, tell them what had happened, and take them to where she was. Jispo flittered about the town, retracing his flaps as he searched for the ghostly male that had led Zephyr through the portal. Jispo hated that man. If he didn’t drag them through the portal, nothing like this would have ever happened! The little hinko wanted to tear his limbs apart and dine on his flesh, but that would prove worthless when he killed Zephyr’s only chance of rescue. Once she was safe, though, Jispo saw no reason to keep such inhibitions.
He came upon a gathering of people arranged in a group, and the hinko took a swerving dive as he searched for the ghostly man, until he caught a whiff of a familiar scent. Jispo trailed back upwards, searching the group more closely. They looked different than what he remembered, but he could not mistake that soft, removable white skin from another.
The speed at which he barreled towards Mikael could have been attributed to a bird of prey on the last field mouse in the forest, and his actions were not that dissimilar. He grabbed at the shoulder of the man’s jacket and took right back off, dragging him towards the path that Oogie had taken Zephyr. He didn’t go very far. Perhaps he didn’t realize the urgency of the situation. Doubling back around, Jispo perched on the man’s shoulder and mashed his head against his, purring as loud as he could. Then he grabbed at his shoulder and took off again, pulling him towards the great tree.
He repeated this until he got it through his thick skull to follow. If anyone could help Zephyr, Jispo knew it would be him.

(Just in case somebody didn't read the chatter thread, I got permission to join.I'll take whatever posting spot you'll give me but If I want to join I have to do it now.)
Limber slipped off of the wall a few yards from the fountain. She had seen the the abduction of the girl and later the rescue party that formed to follow her. The ghost who led the party had been pretty vocal and her now movable ears had perked up at the mention of Oogie Boogie.
Limber had heard of Halloween Town and been mildly interested so she had stowed away on a gummi ship and arrived in the town a few days ago. Halloween town was full of nice dead people, mutilated people and mutated people but mostly they were nice. It had been entertaining wandering and looking at things the first day but now the town was starting to seem a little tame.(not the food though, the food was very interesting) Except for one thing, one creature that had potential.
She had heard of Oogie Boogie from the townspeople, especially the street musicians who, by the way could make just about every song sound the same as any other and very repetitive. (She had made them play Ode to Joy with mediocre results.)
Mostly what they said was. "Don't go near Oogie Boogie. Stay away from him. Avoid the curly hill, It's trouble, especially for a little girl like you."
Ooogie Boogie sounded interesting. Limber decided to follow the rescue group a little behind. Since the witches had been kind enough to point out the exact direction of the curly hill when they had warned her away, she had no trouble finding it without following closely.
As she wandered along, gazing at the dark and cobwebby scenery, with lots of gnarled trees, and ravens, Limber took stock of herself. Her face was lightly furred, she had a muzzle and talking had become awkward. She was pretty sure she also had pointed ears but there was an amazing shortage of mirrors in Halloween Town to check this fact. Unfortunately, the rest of her body was absolutely normal, well maybe her arm hair was a little thicker. But she had no claws and, she sighed, she was as short as ever. She still had no weapons, well except for the brass knuckles around her neck which she fiddled with absently. Nevertheless, she was bored so she continued.
She saw the ghost press the hidden button on the grave stone as she waited in the pumpkin patch for everyone to disappear across the bridge and the hill to constrict again. Limber wandered up the hill, pressed the button and started to cross. She admired the rickety bridge and, she tipped her head back and despite her self her mouth rounded, the giant of a dead tree that Oogie Boogie made his home. This person certainly had a flair for the theatrical. She smiled, amused. Limber realized that maybe half way along a rickety bridge was not a good place to watch scenery and finished crossing.
There were two paths ahead, both regrettably swarming with bugs. They crawled all over each other and were brilliantly colored but still unattractive. She tried shooing them away with no success.
She chose the low path since there was at least ground that way and not the possibility of falling to a bone crunching death. Even though she liked climbing trees and she was pretty sure she had a cat's face, she didn't have the claws so she didn't want to risk it. She sighed again and descended carefully, stepping on the shiny creatures as if they weren't there. It was hard going, both taking steps and ignoring what she stepped on.Especially the crunching. Her shoes would be ruined after this, not that they were anything special. She really needed to get some boots. The bug juice had begun to soak through the canvas of her shoes and settle between her toes.
Pretty soon there was no light, for a while there had been some, enough for her eyes to pick up the shine of the creepy crawlies underfoot but now there was none and the bugs seemed to have dissipated. Limber kept on walking, ignoring the squelching sound her shoes made as best she could. The bug juice had become sticky.
Eventually she made out a light, a flickering torch several yards down the path. She heard movement and talking and quietly slipped in behind the group she had chosen to follow. Since they were making noise themselves the squisch, squisch was barely noticeable.
(unknown to her the pendant around her neck had begun to glow but so faintly that she didn't notice even with cat eyes.)
((We're going to stop posting in this thread for a while. instead, the split stories will be continued in their own threads.
IF YOU WENT UP, you'll be high rolling in the Ceiling Swing Mix version of this song and dance.
IF YOU WENT DOWN, you'll be bustin' beats and gettin' low in the Bass-ment Mix.
This thread will be picked up again when the plot in both threads reconvene, but for now, this thread will be for Oogie and Zephyr, so that you all can see what's going on with them as you make your way(s) through the manor.))
