In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

It wasn't a matter of needing persuasion when one was merely stating a fact. She didn't care what experiences he had; what was correct was correct, and that was all there was to it.
As for the other place... how was it he kept being reminded of things? "No."
"You should visit there some time. They've got technology to beat even yours." That was almost certain to get a reaction. She was the cocky, bull-headed type, not too unlike Sabin in that regard, actually. But she seemed harmless enough, and who knew? Maybe she could be useful to The Returners.
"I still need to check in at home base, but afterwards I can give you a ride if it's a ship you lack." He hadn't been to Garden in a while, so it would be nice to visit again. Besides, there was always the chance that some new leads had come up in his time away. He'd check in on the others before heading out again.
"Oh, really?" she challenged, sounding none too convinced of that. It wasn't that she was unaware that there was technology out there that rivaled her own, or was dramatically different; the ships had already proved that point. It was merely a blow to pride to be second to anything, and something she instinctively had to question, challenge. If it was true, she'd study it long enough to surpass it.
In the end, nothing was about to out-perform her. It was just taking time to return to where she used to be.
So, he had a ship too, or access to one. After a moment of thought she shrugged - the closest to her agreeing he was going to get. Even if it wasn't an opportunity she was about to let just slide by, she wasn't about to let that show. After all, she did have her own pride. "Renze Fray. Don't forget it."
Edgar grinned. He knew that would get her attention, and he was right. Taking her along wouldn't be very hard, anyways. There was plenty of room in the ship - dubbed the Figaro, after the castle, of course. The mechanic - Renze, apparently - would visit, and likely enjoy herself. This would certainly work.
"Edgar Figaro. I'll be back by here in a day or two, after I get my errands settled in Traverse." That should give him enough time to catch up with the others.
With that, Renze pivoted on her heel, moving to her workbench to retrieve a few things, and return to the half-disassembled engine. The moment that it was a resolved matter was the moment that she lost interest for the time being. He'd be back in a while, but until then, they were finished. A simple movement of her hands unlinked the Scout, this time bringing forward an Airscout to hover overhead, then shift up to start bringing and returning tools and items as needed.
And just like that, it returned to just as it'd been when Edgar first approached; two Summons going about their business, and Renze ignoring him.
It was no real surprise that Renze went back to her business so quickly, and not a problem, really. With that, Edgar went back to his business of returning home.
