Character Name: Real name long since forgotten, but people call him The Necromancer
Nickname (Optional): The Black Knight, the Hand of Death, Soul Thief, Controller of Corpses(all titles he'd rather not be reminded of)
Age: Age has become blurred by extensive use of evil magic, but acts like he's 32
Gender: Male
Species: Human(and he's glad he still is)
Society Position: Formerly Lawful Evil. Currently trying his damndest to become Lawful Good.
Powers: The Necromancer is an avid user of evil magic(though he prefers to call it 'dark magic'). He's mastered it up to mid-level, his choice of spells being Night and Nightra, although he can do quite a few things with these spells, be it projecting them as a blast in front of him, firing them out like pellets, or simply using them as a pillar to boost his jumps(he has enough MP for seven Nightra spells of any kind).
His main power, however, is the power he derives his name from: necromancy. His type is more puppeteer-style: using visible, red strings from his fingertips, he is able to take control of any dead being, generally skeletons, in his radius. There are limits to this power, however: he needs more strings to control larger skeletons, and he tends to work with specially-prepared bones: he CAN jack unprepared corpses, but these take more energy to manipulate, and he's not too fond of that. He also cannot simply let his skeletons go off while he does other stuff: he HAS to keep them controlled and multitask them or they'll fall apart, meaning that they're essentially very unusual weaponry.
While his powers took a rather big hit when he displaced himself(see more in History), he's still a formidable fighter.
Weapon(s):Wicked Sword 'Vainslayer': Vainslayer is a blade of the Necromancer's own design, forged from the magical energy of all the warriors he defeated. It's a curved sword with a blade black as the night sky, it bears a 'spine' of white bones on the non-bladed side for support, and an elaborate hilt. Given that this weapon is mostly composed of magic, it can cut Heartless effectively as well as regular beings.
Bone Bag S(small): The Necromancer stores his prepared bones in this peculiar bag, which seems to be able to store corpses many times its size. However, there is a limit: smaller Bone Bags can store less stuff. This one contains around three 'normal' skeletons and two larger monster skulls, which he can use to animate as his puppet weaponry.
Picture (Optional): NoneAppearance: The Necromancer's most impressive visual is his dark-grey helmet: it towers up by quite a bit, with a pair of black horns at the top. It's shaped like two half-tubes welded together in the middle, with the seams running across the front and back of the helmet. Looking down a tad, there's his face..or rather, the visor that obscures it. The visor is essentially a face-mask, eith naught but a sunglasses-shaped pair of eyeslits revealing his glowing, red eyes. His mouth is guarded by the lower part of the visor, which has a 'prison bars'-style mouthguard near the bottom. Should he remove this helmet, he'd reveal that his hair is black, his skin is pale and that his eyes really are red, yet only glow in the dark.
He wears similarly dour-looking armor on his upper body. his chestplate is a bizarre apparatus, looking to have been assembled out of the scraps of many diffrent kinds of armor, a testament to the many foes he has fought, no doubt. Upon the back are, oddly enough, two slightly-raised surfaces, as if it used to have wings, but these have since been broken off. The shouler-pads attached to this armor are simple and rounded, and do a good job of protecting his shoulders. His arms are fairly unremarkable, although it does reveal that he wears a shirt of black chain underneath the armor. His hands are coated in gloves made of dark, rugged leather, and posess four fingers and a thumb. Around his right index finger is a golden ring, inlaid with a black gem...perhaps a gift he's been given, as it looks to be impeccably-kept. Around his waist is a belt of the same material, designed to keep aloft both the sheath containing his sword and an armored fauld, looking to be of a similar 'Frankenstein's Armor' design as his chestplate. Should he bare his chest, he'll but reveal that he has a highly unusual scar on his back, shaped like some kind of rune.
Looking down further, one can see that his lower body is swallowed up by a pair of baggy, black pants, which segue into armored boots. One can see the dark leather in-between the gaps the armor attached forms, but the armor itself does mostly dominate the boots. It comes in the form of a pair of shinguards, designed like his helmet minus the horns, with upside-down versions of his visor as the knee-guards, and foot-protectors that simply bear a skull pattern.
Personality: While the tales go around about The Necromancer's past deeds while he served an evil wizard, he has since come to regret what he has done. When in public, he mostly shows his 'game face': he's well-spoken and affluent, occasionally willing to crack a joke despite his generally serious nature, undenying that he uses dark magic and even polite to those he fights. However, when by himself or otherwise able to let his guard down, he shows that, underneath all the armor, he's horrified by the things he's seen during 'that ritual', as he calls it, claiming that it let him see just how far he'd descended down the slippery slope. This is also the reason why he believes he'll never truly master his dark magic: it requires either a ritual that destroys those not morally pure enough(which he doubts he is) or casting aside one's humanity(which he's extremely unwilling to do).
History/Background: The Necromancer was formerly the second-in-command of the forces of evil on his homeworld, reknowned and feared for his necromantic talents. His loyalty was never in question...until one day, when he caught sight of his master having a casual discussion with a creature so vile, bearing an emblem of a crossed-out heart on his chest, not even the Necromancer himself could stand the sight of him for too long. Doubting himself, he had his followers enact a ritual that would allow him to do some literal soul-searching...and he did not like what he saw.
Coming out of the ritual a profoundly changed man, the Necromancer, knowing full well what would happen to him should his master succeed, prepared his own ritual: one to displace himself to a far-away location so that he might start anew. However, his former master's forces caught wind of this, and attacked. The Necromancer had to do battle with his master's new followers(he explains them as 'Horrifying shells who look like men and fight like men, but do not speak or think like men'), and was finally confronted with the wizard himself, by now a twisted creature made more of evil magic then flesh.
The two fought a long battle, as the Necromancer tried to protect the few cultists he had left, but he was losing badly, having only taken the supplies he could carry with him when displacing himself, as a result having much of his power drained, and his armor's wings torn right off of his body. When the portal was finally opened, the Necromancer's last remaining minions sacrificed themselves to get their master into the portal. The displacement took away even more of the Necromancer's power, but he made it through, finding himself in a most unusual place called 'Traverse Town'...
Role Playing Sample: The Necromancer, garbed as he usually is, was snapped out of his meditation when his guest approached. "...please excuse me for having...zoned out." he says, smiling beneath his visor, "...I was simply meditating a little. I have a lot to think about, you see." He got up from his seated position, and approached. "So...may I inquire as to why you came to me?" he asked. "Even though you've heard the rumours, you still came to visit me...if this is about an errand, the situation must truly be dire..." He crossed his arms. "Tell me everything you know." he continued. "I must...consider the conditions of your errand before I accept it."
Questions/Comments/Suggestions: The Necromancer is based on his namesake from Castle Crashers, but only in appearance and abilities(and maybe a little bit in terms of homeworld). I blended in some of my own style, and I limited him in accordance with his backstory.
Also...to anyone reading this, do feel free to offer suggestions. I'm always looking to improve upon my characters, so do ask me stuff or suggest things if you think they'd be cool.
