In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

The title pretty much explains my mood at the moment. My laptop has decided to be a little b*tch and stop working altogether. I am currently posting this from the campus library.
Don't expect to see just a whole lot of me around until I can get my laptop fixed.
So, update. Took Tron by the IT guys, and they told me they couldn't fix it without voiding the warranty. Therefore I now need to find a way to get over to Best Buy to get it checked out.
Needless to say, this has not improved my mood any.
To make things worse, the nearest bus stop to Best Buy is about a half mile away from it. So I either need to find someone to drive me, or I get to walk half a mile there and back.
... this is why I should not be deprived my laptop.
Anyways, I was going to just do the walk, but my roommate offered to drive me over there this weekend. Really, it's in his best interests, too, because I've been stealing his laptop instead. So... it'll still probably be a week or two.
Sorry for the double post, but thought I'd give y'all an update.
First time, I took Tron to Best Buy. They said they'd run a diagnostic, which would take one to three days.
Five days later, they'd yet to call me back. (Annoyance number one. Keep track, y'all.) So I call them up. They had to call me back, but a few hours later they told me Tron was ready to be picked up. Huzzah, right?
So I make another trek to Best Buy. Now, their records don't actually show that they've done /anything/, so I'm a tad wary. But Tron seems to work just fine at Best Buy. So I pack it up, take it back to the dorms.
Within thirty minutes, Tron powers off again. (Annoyance number two). I'm understandably pissed at this moment. So eventually I manage to make another trek over to Best Buy, and check Tron in /again/. Before I can even get back to the dorms they call me up again. Apparently Tron shut down during their diagnostic, big surprise. So they say they've got to ship Tron off to their service center. But, in the repair process, they might have to wipe the hard drive. They say they can back up the files - $99 for 9 GB. Or, $160 and they can back up the files onto an external hard drive (which, of course, is not included in the price). So I opt for the external hard drive, and in my fourth trek to Best Buy, I spend $246 and walk out with a cardboard box.
I was /not/ pleased. (Annoyance number three).
The next day, they called my mother (who lives in Austin, whereas I'm in Oklahoma), to tell /her/ that my back-up's done. (Annoyance number four).
She passes the message along, and the day after that I make trek number five to Best Buy to pick up my new external hard drive (named DtD). So far, it hasn't failed me.
Yesterday, they call me up again, finally. They say that the service center couldn't find anything wrong with the hardware. Therefore, according to them at least, it's a software problem. I'd like to know how the hell random powering off is /not/ a hardware problem. And of course, software problems aren't covered under the warranty. Which means this is going to cost me even /more/.
(Annoyances five through five hundred forty-three).
Due to other things that came up, I've yet to call them back. I need to decide if I should just tell them to go f*ck themselves and take Tron somewhere else or not. If it's going to cost money either way...

...That. Sucks.
And here I thought Best Buy was so reliable. And you don't think that just getting a new laptop and switching all your programs to that one would work? Honestly I don't have a laptop so I really don't understand what's going on at the moment. So if my suggestion made you headdesk and say "What an idiot" I apologize for really not having any clue as to what's wrong with Tron. I hope Tron feels better soon. =]
If I had the money, I'd give it to you... But I don't. Stll scouring town for a job.. but yeah.. Hope it gets better, and let me know if I can help, even if "helping" is just holding a pointless conversation on AIM. *I do that sort of thing. x3*
By the way, that Javascript coding deal -- that was amazing. ROFL good.
