In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

I am now going to put a few of my opinions forward about other posts here following on from my previous post.
First, having an application thread for using the C-box seems like a good idea, but it's getting to the stage where the C-box is something where so much time and effort will be put into setting this all up, that it probably won't be worth it.
Okay, about the two boxes. Well, my opinion is simply no. I mean, who (other than mods and those who don't know this password to the other one, which won't really be too many) will actually spend time in the normal C-box, answering questions?
Lastly, in answer to Nella, the thing is that the problem is about n00bs, who are the exact people who wouldn't read that thread. But wait, here's an idea: what if this thread contained the password to the C-box thread, like the rules/character applications?
How would anybody good know they want to join if they can't assess anything on the site to see what the place is like? And are we really willing to come across as that indescribably snooty?
If you have to read everything about the reams and reams of characters there before you where even permitted to ask a question.... I would find that off-putting, I think. I'd be like, there's other stuff on the Internet, I don't have to put up with this. Now, once you've got someone interested, that's another story.

Plus there are those people who wouldnt read the thread, they would just scroll through the thing to get the password. I say that if anything, just put in the rules that in the C-box is where a lot of Role-play happens. It seems like the best thing that would be there instead of making a whole other board JUST for a c-box. Seems kinda odd....
I just think that the cbox has become a larger part of the site than the plot itself. We seem more giddy to post on there than we do anywhere else.
But I think this is going to end up turning into one of those things... "You can take the playersers out of the cbox, but you can't take the cbox out of the players"
Honestly, no matter what we're going to stick with the thing. So what's wrong with the way it is right now? We're used to the way things are, it's easy and hassle free. If we change things around it seems less appealing. Things are going to happen, and they're going to keep happening. So let's just save time...
If people can hardly bother to copy and paste their profiles into the Final Profiles board, or read them... than I don't think people are going to take the time to read/write out all the little side-plots. A New York minute can't hold a candle up to a Cbox minute, so much happens that it seems unrecordable. Best let it die when it is out of sight in the history.
Honestly, what we're discussing seems to be a short term fix for the problem that will cause more problems than it fixes. Though I frequent the cbox and am annoyed by the frequent appearance of n00bs, I think that password protecting it would be a bad idea. Like its been said numerous times, it would lead to elitist thinking, hurt feelings, and *gasp* angry n00bs.
Heres my idea: how about we put on our big kid pants and deal with it? Annoyances come with life. Trying to avoid them causes more headaches than the original problem.
I think Laurel-senpai is right. I know it's not really my place to say this, but new users don't have a clue when they get enter this site. Usually, they go on the c-box first before reading the rules. Nobody told them that people are RPing, so it's not their fault. You just have to deal with it.

I agree with most people here, but some people don't seem to know the difference between newbies and n00bs. N00bs are the problem here, not newbies. N00bs are annoying idiots who usually insult and harass others, are completely illiterate, and quite often pretend they're celebrities.
Newbies are simply people new to the site who ask sensible questions. There a threads for questions and the majority of sites don't even have C-boxes, so newbies won't die without one available.
Don't get me wrong though, I still think having a password protected board is a bad idea, unless we have a thread with rules that contains the password. The Dash/Jason, yes, some people might do that, but it will narrow down the issue to only a couple of n00bs, who we can then handle.
well then i think you should just go the way you were going because anything else is not going to have a positive effect its just a rule of life that n00bs are going to be here after all everyone's new at one point.

I still dont believe that a whole password protected board would be needed to do that. Its a simple addition to the rules that says "Keep in mind that a lot of RPing happens in the c-box, not just random chat. If you need to ask a question, surround it with parenthesis or some other type bracket." OR something along those lines, you can word it anyway you want. This way, the simple knowledge is there for those that read the rules. If you dont read the rules, then they cant say "Well I didnt know." Because others would just reply "Then read the rules first." Which is why I said to put it in that little Rules box next to the C-box that a lot of RPing takes place in the box and to watch out, so that way its RIGHT THERE.
