In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

So, I’ve noticed recently that more and more “noobs” have been coming into the c-box, and, more importantly, interrupting the role-playing that takes place there. I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of my time role-playing in the c-box. Not only is it enjoyable, it is quick and easy. But when new, less familiar members [and some people who aren’t even members at all] often referred to as “noobs”, come into the c-box, they often disturb the role-playing environment. Not only do they annoy us role-players, they also disrespect many members. Whether it’s cussing or just being flat out rude, these “noobs” have proved themselves to be a great annoyance, and I think I have a solution to our problems, if you’ll hear me out.
There are some ways I have seen that block noobs from getting into others’ c-boxes. But, many of these ways, offered by cbox.com, cost money, money that doesn’t need to be spent. So, I was pondering how to solve this “noob problem”, when it hit me. There is an option to password protect boards, such as the staff board, and the register to rp board as well. Well, if we made a password protected board, and put the c-box as a footer on it, we could filter who can access the c-box. This way, we can give the password to members with a good track record . And, hopefully, this will help make the c-box more enjoyable and noob-free!
Again, this is just an idea, and it’s open to criticism. Also, feel free to ask questions if something is not clear! I really suck at presenting ideas, so, let me know if there’s something you don’t understand. >>;
I concur. Just prior to this message's posting, we fell victim to not only one "member" posing as two people in an attempt to gain attention, but another who spouted racial slurs and vulgar language.
Over the past few days, it's gotten exponentially worse. Almost anyone online in that time period has seen it.
It's a normal cycle. Every other month or so there's an influx of n00bs who storm the Cbox, get ignored, get bored, and move on.
Interestingly, about every three months, the Cbox experiences mass chaos, with people sporting two to three characters at a time for about an hour, the dust settles, characters change, and new plot lines get dreamed up.

I apologize for trying to help the idiots, but I tried to show them the right direction, probably egging them on, or at least attracting them to the board. I myself have never met another Noob due to a limited attention to the C-Box, although I use it more now.
Hmm, this is a problem, I must say. N00bs are the worst type of people in my opinion... but, there is a problem with your suggestion - people will get left out or rejected of knowing the password, even if they do deserve to know it! I don't know, it does seem like a good plan, but I can just see more issues happening because of it.
Although, we do need to solve the problem... and fast.

I heartily support this idea; it's a novel way to get around a very annoying problem. The only possible downsides I can see are coding trouble and the potential impracticality of handing out the password to individual members.
What if people applied to get C-Box approval? And there were conditions like... number of posts, RP sample and active character or whatnot. Maybe that would help?
I can get your view- I mean, I had sooo much trouble understanding the Cbox roleplay concept at first. But there are an awful lot of people who just post there willy nilly without really thinking about what they write and just want attention or something.

I say that there should be Two c-boxes. One in the password protected board for those who like RPing in the c-box, and one in the spot it is now for those who are new that are there for random chat and help. I know that when I first got there I didnt know that you rped in the c-box, but soon learned. But I do agree with the c-box in a password protected board.
A password protected board is a terrible idea. Imagine- you're an up-and-coming RPer, not the best, but pretty good. You join the site. Lo and behold! There's an RP area that you cannot access. Therefore, you WANT to access it. To do that, you have to convince the one or more with the password to give it to you.
Now think of where that leads. If one person won't give it to you, it doesn't matter if you're a bad RPer- you'll be pissed at that person! Personal problems will breed and drama takes control. If one person does give it, but another disagrees with their judgment, then the three involved parties all start fighting, and drama takes over. Drama is BAD. If we have a password-protected CBox, I guarantee a significant decrease in the site's good vibes.
What would be a better solution than a password-protected CBox would instead be a thread that explains what the heck is going on in the CBox. Something where people can put up their little plots and sub-plots, their "CBox only" characters, so on and so forth. I know that I for one am guilty of having many CBox specific characters or plots, and I can see how it would be confusing for someone new to walk in and see any (or all, on an active day) of the following: Tony (one of mine), Deca, Zack Fair, The Kitchen Sink, Peanut Gallery, etc. The list could go on.
If we had a thread (or maybe even a section of the forum) where we could explain what the heck was going on in there, that could help a lot of things, I think.
