In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

WHAT IF: Kairi, for whatever reason, reclaimed the throne in Radiant Garden, taking up the mantel that King Ansem left, since she is Princess after all, and at this point we can likely assume she was his daughter.
WHAT IF: She married Sora later on down the line (say eight or nine years later because they're good kiddies, putting them in their early to mid-twenties), making him King, and bringing some closure to all the crown motifs that the series loves to decorate stuff with.
WHAT IF: From here, the dream-team works to bring peace to the Worlds and establish general happiness for the rest of their little lives.
THEN: we have the story of King Arthur all over again.
After all, the central problem isn't Heartless and Nobodies. The central problem is division, which, of course, was the very thing that Arthur fought so hard to overcome in a royally screwed up Britain.
The Worlds were once whole (I'll call it Disneyland) but were scattered and lost to one another. Ansem and his basket-case apprentices (c) went even further and divided the Heart, but unlike Dr. Jekyll, they preferred to wreck havoc on everyone instead of just London. Weird how we're always back to England...crazy Brits.
Like King Arthur, I imagine that Sora would believe in a united kingdom, and through his ability to forge strong relationships would similarly assemble his closest friends to help him reestablish Disneyland through as many peaceful means as possible.
Parallels: King Arthur fought side by side with his comrades in the Saxon wars, setting up those strong friendships they would depend on later at the Round Table. Sora fought side by side with numerous friends against the Heartless, again building bonds that would later be needed to establish peace.
Parallels: The Keyblade is special and particular about who it chooses. So is Excalibur.
Parallels: Neither King Arthur nor Sora were adults when they began their learning and their adventures. They were not truly warriors, though they loved the glory and the romanticism of war-games. They were not chosen for their skill with a blade, but for the strength of their hearts, their ability to love, learn, and keep an open mind, while still retaining a sort of rare innocence; Both assume the best in their fellow man.
Of course, initially, King Arthur failed. Poor guy.
More Parallels: Sora loves Kairi. Yay. Sora loves Riku. Double yay. Riku love Kairi. Yup. Kairi loves Riku? We dont' have a crystal-clear indication of this, but let's just say the three friends really, really love each other. As a full supporter of the Ri/So/Kai ship, I say, this is the way to go.
Arthur loved Guenevere. Yay. Arthur loved Lancelot. Double yay. Lancelot loved Guenevere. Yup. Guenevere loved Lancelot. Uh oh...I'm foreseeing some problems. Of course, in the court of Camelot, and with the introduction of Catholicism, this threesome never really had a chance. They were too conflicted about their love being moral and correct...and acceptable in court.
There was inner division. They didn't know what to do with peace and the knights scattered to seek the Holy Grail.
Disneyland, if history is any indication, didn't know what to do with peace either. Perhaps they sought the Door to Light, just as the Knights searched for the ever-elusive grail.
So, what can we predict about the future?
Absolutely nothing!
Squeenix would rather explore the ancient histories of the Keyblade Wars, elevating the gods of the past and, in my opinion, downplaying the importance of the children who were pulled from the safety of their island paradise, called to heal the wounds of a sorely injured universe.
Either that, or we're looking at another sick, twisted version of Ender's Game and the blood Sora spilled will haunt him forever.
