In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

...or are we kind of more or less cliquey on this site?
Honestly now, maybe I'm just sheltered, but it seems like everywhere I look (on this site) we're isolating our own little groups of friends from everyone else...every time I get on here or MSN, I hear of how 'so-and-so absolutely hates me' or else I just seem to notice that certain people just dont mingle on the cBox together....at all....
I personally know that I have a buddie on WD who used to be with another one of my buddies here...eventually they moved on, and buddy #2 got with someone else...and that someone else hates buddie #1...and so buddy #2 hasn't talked to her (or to me) in a long time....
I dunno. When I get on this site, I want to break AWAY from the immature social 'statuses' and cliques of middle school, and while most of you are far older than I, some of you still seem to adhere to the Code of Cliques (please don't ask)
...maybe I'm too young to understand the social dynamics of older teens/young adults, but I just wanted to put this out there...
I hope that this holiday season, we can all just set aside our old grudges/social groupings and just accept each other for who we all are; Veteran or Newb, Friend or not-so-friend, yuri or yaoi...
ACTUALLY Person #3 hates persons #1-42 and, person #7 is pregnant (with twins), person #14 had an epiphany but will be murdered by person #30, and person #6 has a plan that will wipe out person #2 because that person was having an affair with persons #4-12.
Geez, Mallory, don't talk about stuff you don't know anything about. Don't you watch Days of Our Lives?
Psh, clearly you need to start watching Daytime TV.
In other news, Days of Our Lives is a popular soap opera that people like my Aunt like to watch. Apparently there's a new episode every day. I think filming must be a pain in the rear.

*coughs* Anyway.
I agree with your point here, Mallory. The boards lately are just too cliquey. I know threads have been made prior to this one trying to resolve the issue- but nothing ever gets done. People just like clinging to the major excuse that "it happens, and there's nothing we can do to stop it," But that's just lame. We need to actually make an effort to break down these cliques and let others in. By closing up yourself to only certain people, many people get left out, and in result, they might leave the site. Sure, to some, that may be a good thing- getting rid of the annoyances. But what I'm trying to say here is... we need to accept everyone. So some people might annoy you- get over yourself. I don't think it's right to push people aside just so your little cliques aren't damaged.
Like I said, I know this issue has been identified before, but I just felt like I should express my opinion... Because this is a major problem. *shrugs* Feel free to disagree.
As of now, I have refrained from really expressing my opinions on these OOC boards, but if everyone else can do it, surely I can too.
I think it's very easy to make umbrella statements like, "We all need to get along." and "We all need to accept everyone." and "We need to be less cliquey," without really being able to identify any hard facts. Things get neglected like A) What exactly those groups are made of B) How they're functioning and C) Why.
People thought the L.A. riots were about black vs. whites. Come on, everyone just get along! Hm, maybe a little RESEARCH would be handy to find out what was really the source of the tension. Oh, here's an idea! Free health care for everyone! Because that WORKS in other nations...oh WAIT, no it really doesn't. It doesn't take that long to take a closer look into problems and solutions, but it seems not very many people are willing to do it.
It isn't immature to point out a problem, but I think it IS immature to think that pretty and prim solutions are going to make them disappear. It is immature to sit on the sidelines and commentate about a game you're not sure what the rules are. It is immature to point out the same problem over and over again and hope something gets fixed by just saying it's there.
I'm sorry if this comes off as some sort of flame, but I'm going to be honest here. Seeing these threads makes me angry. Maybe it's because I've been seeing these types of things for over nine years of my life, and they never get any more intelligent. Maybe it's because they're so vague. Maybe it's the weather and maybe it's because they seem to reflect our incredibly reactive nation.
If you are going to use any arguments for or against something cite them and be specific.
There, I've opened up a can of worms. Bite me, I taste good with crushed pepper.

Aryn, I'm actually really glad that you just told us how you felt about it...I was feeling a lot of hidden hostility from you, although you tried to joke around about it...
And I think that your opinion (9 years in the making) is actually more right than most of us want to believe...and in an odd way, that's a good thing. And you pointed out an obvious flaw that we should take into consideration...
...only problem is; how DO we do research on this?
Maybe it is an unsolvable problem; maybe we can't do anything about it at all; maybe we should just give up on the idea of peace (even in it's smallest form) and walk through life with a chip on our shoulders.
Or maybe we can try to talk it out...or do something...
...I'll admit it, I'm one to make some of the 'umbrella statements' that you talk about, and maybe that is just some of my childish naivete, but it also doesnt do much good to point out obvious flaws and not bother to think of any ideas to possibly help.
...and maybe that came off as a bit of a flame too...>.>
And I know this post isn't of much help, but I just wanted to put that out there...
...I guess I started this thread to see if anyone else agreed with me...or if anyone else could tell us if this has been happening to them, too...

Basically, what Sephiroth said is one of the main ways that we can overcome this problem. Joining random threads is perfect, really, and agreeing to RP with people you've never RPed with before is good. I mean, sure, we can all have our close friends on the site, but that doesn't mean we can't be friendly to everyone. Including C-boxing with noobs...
However, I'm not saying that I haven't been entirely at fault here. Which I have. A lot. And so, this is my amendment to the site - help us all overcome the "clique-y-ness" that has happened to us.
I've stated a good deal of this in another thread before. This is a rant I gave Mallory in a chat, so forgive the format.
The groups -- and I'm part of one of them (Team Austin) are a good deal of it. While it was not any one of us who started or named it, it's become a definite little group of friends. This is because we all know each other in person, but I digress. It's the further spread of people unwilling to deviate from their plots to allow other peoples' , and to the point of chasing others out of threads.
It's where you see others unwilling to join threads made by those they do not know.
It's where new people are either accepted somewhere, or not - if not, nowhere, ever.
It's where you have the wandering betweeners, the vagrants, the lost, feeling outcast, and they are, in a way, if unintentionally.
What it needs is a more open atmosphere, I agree, but there isn't any 'random/demanded thread generator' or the like.
With the Cbox, you can localize interaction to just those who lurk there.
And there are those who are unused to being a center force, and those so used to it they form one anyway. I could use examples, but I'll refrain. You can probably fill this in.
But there are those who don't.
And some that form their own plots that exclude all others.
It's people so desperate to be part of something they create characters that annoy everyone else, trying to be part.
It's massive.
So do I agree? I do. Have I been watching a site I defended so fiercely from hackers and spammers grow to this? For months.
But it still is home to me.
I'll admit I do not know everything that goes on, but I read threads.
And I think everyone should read threads they are not in.
Kairi kissed Rook in thread.
Leon got almost killed by a chocobo.
Jude is growing massively, killing off characters.
Maleficent I still believe sounds more like Captain Hook.
Demyx may still be under Hades' influence.
And hells, the Chosen ought to scare anyone who reads it and knows who Sephiroth is, not attract countless hopefuls.
And who knows all this?
You could, if you read..
Why is it this way? I'll TELL you why.
It's because all of you say you want to connect, but fail to realize that without READING what others write on an RP forum, you miss the reason to do so.
You don't know these people, and don't want to talk to them.
I can't blame you. I feel the same often, but there's only way to get to know the people here. If you read threads, you'll get a better idea. You'll want to connect. Go out, Find a board you've nothing on. Read.
We had a brilliant Seifer here no one interacted with because no one interacted with her.
...if that's not an eternal loop I don't know what is.
"I won't play with you because I haven't played with you."
And that's the fundamental case.
If you do not know someone, would YOU message them?

I do often try my best to solve my wn issues, as there have been points made, I'm not going to reiterate them. agreements around. Granted, I know I'm not perfect, either. There are times when I cringe terribly at the thought of rather annoying, if not comletely irritating characters to deal with. Though I don't always have a problem with the RPers. Usually not at all. And sometimes attemtps to open communication are a bit dificult (I've been trying between both Organization members with planning threads for discussion as well as the RGRUC), but those are a select few groups. My suggestion, really, is maybe start a thread where people can more fully express themelves-- not in likes or dislikes, but in admitting to things that they don't like about people/characters freely and why.
In my oppinion it seems a lot harder to discuss what we don't like about it, but also shows how better to deal with such things. We all have faults, expressing them is probably a good way to start. Pros and cons to others. It's a start, and I'd be willing to damn well do it myself, because, as it has been said, communication is best.
If you communicate first dislikes, the whys, the specifics, I realize, as it works with me, it helps me set aside that, because that cannot be changed as much. What can be changed is how you precieve and deal with it. If it's not a good idea, then... well... I suppose not.
>>; But... well, as I say, I always like further discussion on ideas, and as I'm first to suggest something (oddly enough by Aryn's examples about researching), than I'd like to open the floor for ideas and suggestions.
I personally am not about go and READ all of that *gestures up to the walls of words above this post* Because I am incredibly lazy, and have no idea how I actually function properly, but I do get the impression that many people have similar opinions about these cliquey-thingies. People always have people they cling to, or rather associate themselves with (look who is talking, but recently I've kind of been gone without a trace like WOAH.... sorry)
I think the only reason I replied to this was well... because I was mentioned up above dskgjskgd so I'm going to go back to my hole... or post maybe... for once. Ciao~
Lately I've noticed it as well, but should the Dark members and Org members be included in this? I mean, unless you're one of them, they'd probably try to kill you. I know a certain Nobody who is completely relentless in his will to randomly attack people.
As for me... Well, I'm glad to be back on, and I'm trying to think of a new character that I should try and take. Three is good enough for me, though. I won't press it, I'd probably forget a thread and look like an idiot.
Otherwise, I'm trying to hang around everybody, but I've only got 4 threads at any time ATM, and I'm sticking around Twilight Town and Traverse Town. I just thought they'd be good entrance points for my characters.
Anyway, I'd be willing to RP with you! I've got an Ienzo thread open. Cliques on a forum will destroy said forum if not dealt with. We don't want people hating each other. I mean, characters, yes, but the actual people? Not cool, ya know? I would say "We should all just get along", but hey, we constantly try to kill each other. Maybe we should all have a little pop-up C-Box where we can see who's viewing or not. Therefore we can get to know everybody and how they think and/or talk, not to mention have fun saying random things.
