In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

Lately I've observed something on World Destiny that will, I kid you not, rip this site apart if it goes unchecked. I've tried to fix it on a case-by-case basis, but it's become obvious that it's become bigger than what I can handle by myself.
This site is lacking in unity. This subject has been brought up before, yes, but I'm not talking about people saying yes, yes, go unity whatever. I'm talking about trust and being willing to work with each other. Without being able to cooperate, how can we expect anything to happen?
Let me start out with this- everyone here wants what's best for the site. I mean that- there are no exceptions. No one on the mod list wants the site to flounder, no one off the mod list either! No one's trying to seize power either. Everyone here is working SOLELY for the good of the site. If anyone has suspicions to the contrary, then try talking to the other person. I can nigh-garuntee that if you approach them rationally, without accusations, then the problem can be cleared up.
I've seen one thing here, though, that just makes me sad for the state of the site- hate. There's no call for anyone to hate each other here. Hate is a destroyer. It clouds judgment, is the greatest inhibitor of cooperation, and does nothing but make people unhappy. I can honestly say that while people still hate each other here, we cannot progress. We can't reach our potential, we can't be a site that works! We'll be nothing but a bunch of divided subplots.
So, to all those who hate: Get. Over. Yourselves! I don't care if you're a mod, a close friend to me, the best bloody RPer on the site, or any of the other wonderful people here! Hate is going to destroy us if we don't control it. It brings nothing good, so fight to conquer it! This site has some of the most wonderful people I've ever met on it. I mourn that such fantastic people can hate each other. So please, for the sake of the site if nothing else, work to resolve differences. And don't just agree to this post if you aren't honestly planning on doing so. Be honest with me and yourself.
If you do not work to control your rage, your rage will control you.
MMmmm. Hate leads to Eternal Suffering. ((and the dark side.))
Hate we must not!
Thank you, Sage n' Prophet Gorrad, for those wonderful words of wisdom. I agree at whole heartedly.
If you don't like someone, talk to them, and have someone there to keep it from getting nasty. However, if their character is being rude, just deal. But if someone has a problem with another RPer, don't be afraid to speak up and get help.

To start with, my best friends are going through this sort of thing right now. Two people I would gladly give my life for, that have suddenly grown to absolutely loathe eachother. I know how it feels to be the middle man, and it only causes more pain for not only the two undergoing hate-problems, but the one in the middle as well. Not fun. 'Nuff said.
Please, please, please! I know this is just a kid-based site, but let's handle problems like mature adults. Even if it's hard to confront and explain, and even harder to keep your cool in the midst of dealing with the problems, let's iron out our problems so that we can stand together and united in the end.
In short, Gorrad, thanks for posting this. I agree with you, and reading your post sent a pang of synchronization into my heart about personal affairs of a similar note.
From experience, I vouch for progression, and that recipe calls for good hard talks, seasoned with a dash of forgiveness.
I'm not so sure about hate in some cases; rather utter annoyance towards habits that have been going on for too long a time. *nods*
That and people refuse to talk outside their social groups, which is the most hindering force against cooperation. Bros before hos psychology. Such a notion must be discarded before any progression can be made at all. And don't say people should talk things out -- just talk things out. Hesitation will only lead to complications. As will biased views -- try to consider both sides of the argument.
Aye... *massages her brow and embarks on a quest for tea*
I feel rather obligated to post here, yet I'd feel odd for just echoing what has already been said.
Then again...
Friendship is part of what keeps us here, that much is certain. Yet something bothers me with the teams that seem to be sprouting up -- Team Canada, Team Austin, etc; and that is just sectioning the site. In the end, I agree- together we stand. Petty bickering and personal vendettas are far from productive. At the least, however, even if you disagree, keep to civility.
Much of this I have said before, and will say again, for what good it may or may not do. I'll admit I am not perfect, but no one is; expecting perfection or people to act as they should all the time, to not make mistakes is not helpful. Everyone does; to err is human. But to forgive...
I myself still wonder what happened to those long, inane MSN games (Truth or Dare, Spin the Bottle, Simon Says...) with the members, a year or so ago. I want to restart them, truth be told, and not leave anyone out who wants in. This is not about who remembers those, and when we seemed far closer, but the here and now, and why we do not feel that closeness now. I do not know anywhere near as many people who are active on this site as well as I sincerely wish that I did.
Some part of me wonders why I don't randomly start contacting people... then I realize I would have no idea how to start the conversation.
In any case.
My point is that extended socialization with people that are merely "around, but not someone you know" would help. By not speaking with people, such remain as just 'the others', and nothing more.
It is not that I do not also agree with what has been before said -- (Together, we stand) - but that I also wanted to contribute/add, and not just echo prior statements.
Sephiroth speaks words of unmatched wisdom. I'm all for putting together some action into changing this, but how about we put our heads together and create some ideas for actually getting things back on track?
If it helps any, I'll start a couple sessions of "spin the bottle" (and the likes of such light-hearted affairs) on MSN.
It'll take more than just that, I know. But at least it's a start.
Damn it, you guys show me up in typed wisdom any day ;D
And thus begins my attempt to contribute.
Hate sucks. So does loathing. The friction creates spark that light up a fire of... something.
Truth be told, I've no idea as to what happens behind closed doors that leads to this shit. However, I do know that I myself have been a part of it. Thus, I feel that maybe, an appropriate past would be mutual forgiveness from wherever scars may stand here. Whenever there's a conflict, both sides are to blame, no matter how small a part might've been contributed. Drop your guns and hug, y'know?
...
And now that I've made hardly any sense whatsoever, I'll end this post with a final thought: It's gotta be Sweet 16, not M-16's.
Team Canada is by no means an actual establishment/group... it's just fun to have, for the record, so bleh to that theory.
World Destiny to me used to be a place I could go on and just randomly chat with people... now it's all role-play, people are so serious about it. Heck, our own cbox has a plot that has had plot twist after plot twist. The cliches are forming, no, have formed. I come here to forget about high school, not to be reminded of it.
All for one and one for all, that's what I learned growing up. Why block off other members from experiencing what we once had-- an opening in a group to be known, to be accepted for who you are. Heck... I remember when Ren and Sage first joined, I knew people that absolutely hated them, constantly irritated by them, even gave them a few 'words' in the box. I, and others, just talked to them, tried to know them, and now look, they're proud members of the forum. And knowing them, one year is a long time for them to stay dedicated and active on one site. Things like this should happen more than just the odd couple, everyone should have this chance...
MSN? Feh... I remember when Zex, Seph, Old Xemnas and myself would spend countless hours just talking... about whatever came to mind. It brought great memories and jokes (ie. Purple is not a flavour, the overall creation of Vinkitty/make-shift organization, and many others...). I want those back! More than anything!
I think that we just need to remember that even if we label ourself as things, we're all the same off the site. What's the difference between me and, say, Era offsite? Age, height, appearance... that's what makes us us, we're still just young adults (some older than others) living our lives. I don't think I deserve any of this extra drama, and neither do any of you, I guarantee that!
I've made some great friends over this site... I'd love to make more, but it's sad to say that this site seems to be more of a kingdom anymore than the bouncy castle atop the hill it once was.
Very nicely put, Yuffie. And while I haven't shared in many of the memories a lot of you seem to reminisce about, I say we put into action this getting over ourselves bit that Gorrad brought to our attention, and we make new memories!
