In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

The stars hanging off the ends of his hat bobbed up and down. He had a light skip to his step, as if to a music only he could hear. He was looking around curiously as he walked along the shore, just out of the lapping water's reach. Glancing around he noticed many things about his odd place. One, everything seemed ramshackle, as if made by children. Two, Despite the rather poor quality, it was all grand in scale, the massive tree-house above the docks behind him was amazing! There was a shack and a bridge up ahead, connecting this island to a small island with an odd, bent tree.
Instead of going through the shack and up the stairs, Akugi Dōkeshi jumped lightly, landing on the bridge lithely. Whistling a merry tune, he turned and headed down the bridge, his soft shoes padding audibly on the wood. After a moment, he was standing on the smaller island.
It was still early in the morning, maybe ten o'clock, but Akugi could tell already, this spot was the best place to watch the sunset. However, more irritatingly distracting thoughts came to mind, like where the hell was he anyway? Last he recalled, he had been in an old dungeon, watching several Beastmen Shaman performing some boring ritual. The result had been an interesting pillar of black smoke. While the old monsters debated who would go through first, Akugi overheard the Yagudo Shaman mention that the world on the other side could be unlike anything ever seen in Vana'diel.
Well, considering his love of adventure and new things, Akugi couldn't resist. He ran forward, ignoring the surprise of the Shaman, leaping into the Unknown without a single worry in his mind. The portal shut after him.
When Akugi awoke, he was on this relatively small island. He could see signs of activity, maybe only a day old. So, Akugi stood there, contemplating what there was to do for fun. He was lost in his own thoughts, ignoring the world around him.
