In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

Okay before I make my leave and become a lot less active (or I might not 'cause I feel there's tons of stuff for me to clean up now...) there's much business that needs to be taken care of.
You guys deserve a much better admin than I have been...so I'm going to try to redeem my respect by solving as many of our problems as possible.
- everything in the staff system needs to be reorganized and sorted - the plot needs to be rewritten and easier to understand and execute (I propose we at least pause the plot right now or just start over all together after we revamp it) - the rules need to be looked at and moved around - the thread policy needs to be redone - the keyblade list needs to be updated and redone - the character lists have to be updated and redone - the enemy list needs to be finished - all plots in the worlds need to be completed - new site rules need to be added and reinforced (especially we need to be reinforcing the intermediate/advanced RPer rule...)
That's my list so far. Please feel free to post more here and I'll add them. Each item will be crossed out when it is completed.
Let's begin with the staff system. Currently we have: Admins Overseers Supervisors Academy Instructors Welcome Committee
Alright, we pretty much all know the role and purpose of admins.
We know the role of Instructors.
And we know the role of Welcomers.
Now, we must decide what to do with Overseers and Supervisors. I did have a purpose for these two jobs when they were created but now I really think something has to change. What are some ideas you guys have?
And if you have any ideas for the other staff positions or maybe a new position please say something!
(I'll probably create separate threads for different issues so we can focus on more than one at a time.)
Supervisors and Moderators... what the hell is the difference? Seriously. I think those two categories need to be scrapped in favor of the broader category World Moderators, which Leon referred to earlier. The idea is, each person is in charge of a world. They make sure everything in that world is working correctly, so on and so forth. This includes playing the unclaimed world characters and NPCs from the world. As such, they need to know the world inside and out. I'm not sure who should get what worlds, but that's a different argument.
As a note, this idea was originally given to me by Gorrad, and as far as I know, it was his idea. I also know that it's been bounced off of a couple of different people around here, so some of you may have already heard tidbits of it.
*Clears throat* Yes, Lirix actually is making an appearance in the discussion. I had this idea a while back, but it seemed to be ignored, so I'm pulling it out from the PM and I'm going to post it here.
Instead of combining the Moderating job with accepting applications, we separate them. The Application Moderator would accept and reject applications, but instead of merely rejecting them, they would work closely with the new members on character development and help the RPer develop a unique character that met the site standards. When they accepted an application, they would also be the ones to decide whether the member would go into the RP Training Academy or straight to the general role play.
Likewise the General Board (Plot) Moderator, would make sure that everyone was following the rules, watch for spam or flame posts, make sure everyone was on topic, lock threads that are finished or inactive, etc. They would also be in charge of keeping a "Follow Plot" thread, or something to the effect that would monitor the Plot threads, and keep a short one to two paragraph summary of what is going on in each world (this doesn't have to necessarily be a moderator, it could be anyone involved in the plot thread that was specifically assigned to keep the task) and update it each week (or after any major event). I think this would help people know exactly what's going on, and understand how the plot threads were connecting with each other. Because while one character might not be on Destiny Islands, what happens on that world might effect what they're doing somewhere else.
This of course is just a general idea, and I'm more than willing to bounce ideas off with other people to develop it more. But if we are going with a site plot, I think some sort of record is made of what's going on, instead of having to read say--10 pages worth of posts so a character can be added in.
I do like the idea of World Mods playing NCPs as well, but I think anyone should be able to take on that task, as long as they are reliable {AKA: contribute posts frequently and when necessary}.
Modding a thread ought to be something that many of the staff can do...
The RP Instructors being in charge of applications makes sense to me - it gives them control of the process altogether, meaning that from the application's creation, they can assist if need be on fleshing out the profile. The two are a little too closely related to separate them.
As for the plot of worlds, I know for a fact that Radiant Garden has an extensive one, and I dare not presume that is the only such world. They do need plots written out in some thread or another, and not just ones that seem to pertain to the main one. Even in canon KH this was the case.
Having world characters banned from travel, while we are on rules, also I disagree with. They will, and do-- Simba wandered as a summon. The Commitee has been in three places so far. Even though they may generally stay on a world does not mean by any small stretch that they may not travel now and then, especially with the pathways betwen the worlds left open and NPCs flitting about. I personally believe it should be limited only, not outright banned.
...Anyway. Enemy list I am also working on, for what it is worth. I shall surrender the soap box now.
You don't actually want the moderators to be moderators?
I only mean we'd need MANY new moderators. The ones I have now don't do their jobs. I'm just worried I'll be giving more people powers to do nothing with is all.

In my own defense -- because I know undoubtedly that I'm one of the people this is directed to -- you never gave the Moderators a job. When I was put in the spot, I was never given a job description, a goal to pursue, something to do.
The individual threads on the staff board that were to describe what the assigned positions were to do was were NEVER updated. They just existed with no guidelines. Welcomers and Academy Instructors -- their jobs are self-explanatory. But Supervisors, we were given nothing to work with -- nothing specific (pay attention to that word there, hun, "specific").
I do know one job that we were given, accepting profiles. But then again, that's the job of everyone on the staff which -- most certainly -- takes the edge out of actually doing it. I think I've said something on this before...
*raises her hand* I've been confused about what the job entails ever since I got the job. I was told that Supervisors accepted profiles, but with every other staff position doing the same, just what sets us apart from the others? What's my motivation to do my job if six or so other people are also doing it? Ya know?
What is the motivation? What is the fulfillment? Welcomers welcome new members, Academy Instructors help people better their RPs. But what about those of us not given a job? What are we to do?
Give us a job and we'll be happy to do it. Git me a specific job and I'll do it. You only need to ask.
What this is is not a lack of action, it's a lack of direction, something that we haven't had since day one.
Apologies if this came out rude, I mean no malevolence at all, I just feel this needs to be gotten out, that's all.
Well, I see that Lin beat me to the punch. I was trying to find a way to say it tactfully, but I suppose that's not needed now. And I do know that the comment was directed at me probably more than anyone else, but I have given reasons to my late absences...
I would like to add, that if the Supervisors were supposed to be moderators as well, it would help if we were able to move, lock, and delete boards. I think the only extra "power" that I have is the ability to access this board.

Lirix also brought up a valid point. We had no powers at all when it came to such aspects.
Moving, locking, and deleting threads would have a been a great job to give us, a task that we could uniquely do -- only we didn't have the power to do so. At all.
We were just regular members with purple colored titles, no staff powers. And anyone could access this board if they had the password.
(And my apologies, Lirix. =P But it was late and tact was not one of my highest concerns.)
And I believe now this board is not only locked to the password, but also staff only.
Which is a slight complaint on my part. If it's locked to staff only, it should A: be hidden to regular members and B: shouldn't need a password as well.
I've noticed that when I log in to this board, I get kicked out of the Register board, so then I have to log into that board to check it and so on. It can be irritating at times...

That's very odd...hmmm. I can look into this problem and try find a solution, but I do not have the problem myself.
I only completely guarded this board because I heard that normal members were given the staff password... I do not know by who, but whoever it is mush stop. I have hidden this board before and no one viewed it which is why I made it visible again.
And I completely understand about the job descriptions. I wish to solve all staff problems within the next two weeks. I know that I at least gave everyone the job of accepting profiles which no many do...and I thought you all had the rights powers, but I guess i was mistaken. Sometimes the board shows you have the powers, when in reality you don't. I will look over everyone's powers and make sure you all have moderating powers.
I would like to clear up the accusation. Normal members weren't given the password, the password was never changed from when some members were on the staff. If you have it set to only staff view, the extra password really isn't necessary.
You can hide the board to everyone except staff, too.
Moving, locking, and deleting are definitely not present for me on any boards. *shrugs*
Wow that is so strange... Once all of the staff positions are sorted out I am going to get that fixed. You guys should have many powers like that. Very odd.
