In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

It's been mentioned before, and I like this idea, that canon and world characters have the ability to hand out keychains to keyblade wielders. It may sometimes make sense for OCs to do so, as well. However, there are no guidelines for this, and therefore have no rules about it.
I propose this, partially to promote discussion, partially because I would like to be able to get this out of the way sooner rather than later.
Since we have keyblades that are original, and we know that other keychains can be applied for every keyblade, it makes sense that other wielders can potentially exchange keychains outside of battle. This must take time to do, and therefore doing so in battle is impractical and can and will get you killed.
However...
My proposal runs thus.
Allow other wielders keychains. This will alter the keyblade and arguably transform it to a new one, with its own checks and balances. The design and effect must be made by the one who gives the keychain and have the approval of a mod prior to being given, and also must be agreed upon by the person receiving. Usually this means a collaboration between giver and recipient, approved by mod. This means that not only is it something not decided by the OC, but by someone who knows the character, presumably, very well and how the characters interact.
The application form to fill out for giving an item for a keychain might run thus:

It sounds good, though I think that a cap on keychains must be in place, I suggest one keychain per person, ever. Keychains aren't something that you buy in a store, but something that means something to you. That, and making people aware that you need to have a keyblade to use the keychain.
(keyboard connection's messing up again, short post...)
Perhaps. I agree to an extent, that there should not be 1,234,524 keychains allowed to one person, or given out by one person.. but let me use Leon, for instance, as an example. In the series of KH, he gave out two, to Sora alone, as I recall.
He's the only character, yes. However, it does mean this: canonically you can give out more than one. I believe a running list ought to be kept of who has given what, who has what, and why, but not a single limit of one keychain ever given. Sometimes times may arise...
Sora saved Halloween Town once, and got a keychain from it.
But say another wielder came to its aid and, for example's sake, managed to retrieve something that was stolen, and, if was unleashed, would have doomed us all. This was a major quest that took a long time, and almost killed the wielder, but the wielder did it anyway in order to help, despite no ties prior to this. Wouldn't that warrant a keychain?
But there's already been a keychain given, so no? I disagree.
A limit like this ought to be lucid, which can be partitioned for an extension if there's enough reason. Things happen. People rescue other people and worlds. I'd say the maximum is three, with only extensions granted if there's a very, very good reason that multiple mods agree upon.

Or, perhaps, we could have no limit, but get someone to put as a member of staff (or just add onto someone's duties) who approves and disapproves keychain transactions.
Or, for the sake of putting out another idea, we could make a keychain application thread, where someone posts what you did above, the person who is getting said keychain makes themselves known in the thread, and then mods review it. Basically, another Register to RP board, but with keychains.
Meh, I'm an idea factory, yes, but I come with no warranties.
...*laughs* Actually, I really like the thread idea. It means that it's something logged on the site archives, eventually. Whilst on that thought -- the archives are not for deletion.
I just want to ensure this is looked over and moderated -- as it needs to be.
I'm not gonna make a huge long rant. Just nod my head and say good idea. But I do like the idea of being able to register that sort of thing on the boards. I also agree that there needs to be a good reason for the keychain, nonetheless, though. Instructors can handle a little more work, I think.
I find the idea of people receiving keychains a bit odd. I mean, first off, how would people know that keychains were the secret to the keyblade's form? People don't just go off giving people keychains for significant reasons. It would be something a bit more special.
However, that's just my rambling, and I accept that people could easily create/give away special keychains for the keyblades with the intention of attatching said chain to said blade.
As for the Keychain Thread, I like it. It reminds me a bit of the character registry boards, but on a smaller scale.
Well... actually, it's not. It's usually some small momento or the like, a chain, a paopu doll, a rose, a feather... sometimes something crafted for a specialized gift, or something handed off for this or that reason. These become keychains.
