In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Just like Mikhail appeared to be, Marluxia was confused by the woman's knowledge, or rather, lack there of. No one the Nobody knew of knew the scattered worlds but not know of the Heartless. The very idea was...odd. He stayed silent as Helga spoke, not missing the several glances the fire user was giving him. Mikhail had every right to be suspicious of Marluxia, the Nobody was not too thrilled to see him here but instead of giving his true motives away the Assassin would remain an enigma. "How odd, the Queen herself suggested the same thing. Who knew royalty could be smart?" he mused to himself.
As more took to the scene Marluxia began to realize who most of them were there for; Mikhail. It would seem the small child had taken upon himself to take fellow lost ones under his wing. The same thing the Assassin has been doing for years; though it would seem Mikhail had done a better job at keeping his alive. Most of the ones Marluxia had taken had either been swallowed by the darkness or killed in an attack.
""It is nice to meet you, Miss Helga, though unfortunately the circunstances were not the best. Merlin or I could lead you to the First District when you're ready to leave, if you would like to"
The Nobody took the moment to speak up and turn this into a hopefully interesting night. "Perhaps, in view of the circumstances, Miss.Helga would rather be escorted by someone who could actually be of some worth. Wouldn't want the Heartless or Nobodies to catch you or them off guard. Don't want another Disney Castle incident would you?" he left the words hanging in the air as he walked past the group and the gathered citizens moved out of his way.
"Now if that lady is smart she will chose to allow me to escort her to the First District and to safety. Further more Mikhail will be out of my hair for once..."[/color] Marluxia deliberated to himself as he stopped on the stairs, leaned against the railing and eyed Helga once more.

"However, this town is also has a couple of pretty good space craft mechanics. Granted, our style of craft is made of a different substance that your pods seem to be, but I'm sure you will be able to make do."
Helga hummed to herself for a moment; it was unfortunate that their mechanic expertise wasn't around. This would make this so much easier, but she will just have to make do with what was available, "I'm sure we'll be able to work with it; since getting back on track is a high priority."

I am so not in the mood for a penis swinging contest, Hegla wasn't amused between the back and forth conflicts between Mikael and Marluxia and decided not to get inbetween them; she rather go along with Merlin, since he was the more professional and resourceful versus going into childish squabbles.
"Excuse me for interrupting, but you still have a few pressing matters to attend to, Ms Sinclair," she heared another voice with an unknown face, brunette perhaps near his twenties with poor sight.
"And you are?" She asked before he continued. Some of the crew had made it to another region of the worlds. This made her speculate who could be amongst them and their condition. Since he was going to the third, it left the second to be roamed. "Well that settles it, we're going to the Second District; Milo, Mole, stay here and if everyone's ready before I return head for the First District. Perhaps Jack can take you. Can you?"
Her hard gaze hit him roughly questioning if he can get the job done.
(OOC: New round, this one will end at the 13th of January, or sooner if everybody posts.)
Right after Milo had conducted in what he believed to be a brilliant opening speech. He got hit hard by the reality and response of the gathered crowd of how wrong his assumption was. Hearing the laughter it reminded him of the many fruitless lectures he gave to the museum in order to get sponsoring for an expedition to Atlantis.
Looking over them once again and this time with more attention it struck him of the possible insult he gave them. Milo froze up, realizing his error. His face stretched from a bold to a frightened one while being burdened with a strong sense of shame. The linguïst retracted himself, both physically as mentally. Their first contact with another world and he just outright blew it. Mumbling he blamed himself while scuffling out of sight. Cursing and blaming himself of his mistake. Beating himself up over it so bad he lost his view over the situation.
It wasn't until the elderly long bearded man addressed him that he broke free from his self pity. With an embarrassed and humbled posture he listened closely to the man while keeping an uneasy and nervous attitude.
"Mr. Thatch, thank you for your primitive greeting. I am called Merlin." Merlin bowed slightly, a sign of respect. "You say you come from a far away place, yes? Well, around here, most all of us come from a far away place. Traverse town is the landing point for almost all of those who lose their worlds, one way or another, to the Heartless."
Milo righted himself up, his disaster of a moment ago completely forgetting for a moment as the subject of 'heartless' again came up. But then the need to apologize took over the young man who seriously didn't want to offend anybody earlier. "Th-thank you, euh Mister Merlin. I should have realized that sooner, the evidence is everywhere. This place has all the features of a typical assimilated society."
In the meantime that Merlin addressed Helga, a thought occurred in Milo's brain. As only now it struck to him the name of the elderly man. As soon as he was done talking to her, Milo acquired his attention again and said now: "Wait a minute, did you say your name was Merlin? As in the Merlin? The Merlin of king Arthur? That's impossible... no that's incredible! I always suspected that your story was based on real facts instead of folklore superstition and that you were a real person. "
Overjoyed Milo shot forward and grabbed Merlin's hand as he started to shake it hard with both hands. Now radiating with excitement and tripping over his own words as he babbled: "Oh, mister Merlin, sir,... It's an honor to meet you. Truly you could tell me so much about... well almost anything. They'll never believe me back home! No wait! Of course that's it! You must know about the lost city of Atlantis to right? That's where we're heading. You must have conducted research to that place to right?"
In his enthusiasm, Milo completely missed the talking about the needed rescue missions that had to be taken to the third and second district of the town. Until he received orders from Helga to remain here with Mole until ready to move to the first district. He looked over at Jack Styx to see whether he would go with Mikhael and Max to the third district or remain here to guide them to the first district.
Quickly he spoke to Merlin again while asking: "Euh Merlin, sir, will you also stay for a while? There is so much I would like to ask you.. If I may of course. You must posses so much wisdom that is utterly lost to us."
Jack nodded to himself. Now that names were established, he knew that the woman was Helga, the relatively normal huy was Milo, and the ground-liking man was Mole. Quite fitting. The pink-haired man-lady was Marluxia, the old man's name was Merlin (and was apparently famous), and Mikhail's friend was Maxwell. Many people.
Jack almost flew back at the rock-hard gaze of the woman, Ms. Sinclair. He was quite surprised by the sudden motion. He looked at the woman, then at his superior. It was quite obvious that he was expected to lead Milo and Mole back to the First District, and he wanted to learn more about the supposedly wise Merlin. However, he had prior obligations and honestly more interest in going with Mikhail and Max. He weighed his options.
He decided to escort Milo and Mole. Considering that they'd have no one for protection (if he was following the conversation right), he thought he'd be useful in case of a Heartless attack. He turned to his friend. "I think I'll help out with these two. I'd probably be more useful; you and Max'll be able to handle yourselves, but I want to make sure these guys are okay. Is that okay?" he asked, making sure he wasn't contradicting orders from his leader.

((I agree with shun about moving the thread into different places.... as it is, my head hurts looking between all these posts and their dick swinging contests. ))
Ok, so things were moving. Merlin felt Maxwell approach, and was reminded of the other falling objects that first brought him out of the light reading he'd been immersed in. He closed his eyes, listening to everyone talk, and was thinking.
No sooner then when he opened his eyes, the young Thatch went off into his spheal. Merlin blinked several times. Arthurian Legend? Legend? That is indeed strange. How badly did Morganne destroy Arthur's Kingdom after I left? I wonder how far advanced the world is now... there was no way for them to have fought heartless back then... Has magic left the world, as I feared? hmm...
Merlin only dimly registered the rest of Thatch's babbling, until he mentioned Atlantis.
Merlin smiled. "Ah, yes... Atlantis. I've been there, you know. only once though... It was about four hundred years ago... maybe more. Very interesting place."
Merlin was pulled out of his thoughts by Marluxia's words of protection. "How kind of you, Marluxia." His eyes seemed to twinkle, and he looked from Helga to the Nobody while he spoke. "I think that it would be best for you and I to escort Helga into the second district. There is quite a large Darkness presence there, and I think your abilities will be most.... useful. Along the way, I will instruct her on the ways of fighting the heartless, If she would allow me, of course."
Merlin bowed lightly towards Helga as he said his last bit, looking at her with a gaze that meant Whether or not she needs it.
Something wasn't sitting right with him, about the Graceful Assassin. Why was he here, of all places?
Merlin looked at Helga and Marluxia, indicating the direction of the second district. "Come, I'm sure we won't find any survivors if we tarry here."
As he turned to walk away, Merlin looked at Milo Thatch, smiling. "Young man, we will chat later. As many questions you have for me, I have for you. For now, protect that book."
Looking at Jack, Merlin nodded; his face grim. "They may appear to be safe in the first district, but you'll never know. Do not leave them alone too much until we all return, and if the situation arises, aid them in learning to combat the heartless. They will definitely need it along their journey."
M I K H A I L R U T H E R F O R D "I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU ENDED UP SLAIN BY ONE OF THEM."
Mikhail couldn't help but chuckle at Marluxia's taunt, stopping his march for a moment to turn around and eye him once more. He had gotten stronger, smarter and faster since that little incident at the castle of Disney and the man was just looking for the right moment to prove it to Number XI. There could have been many people saying he was crazy to think he could stand up to Marluxia now, but the pyromancer was quite confident; he trusted the flames he wielded as well as the element of dark he had begun to be acquaintanced with.
"If my memory doesn't fail me, it was you that brought destruction to such place, Marluxia, not me. I must say Miss Helga wouldn't actually be safer under these protections of yours." The pyromancer turned his head to look at his own apprentice, Jack, as he had been addressed by Sinclair as well. Offering him a warm smile upon knowing his choice, Rutherford nodded at him in respect. "Very well, but be careful."
He had to admit he was really impressed with the younger man; instead of choosing something that could have been more of his liking and interests, Styx had decided to fill a role that was quite crucial to the Ullyses crew's survival. Mikhail couldn't be more delighted with his choices.
"Oh, one last thing Marluxia," he spoke, his back turned to him by now. The pyromancer's lips curved into a smile as he paused, letting a soft snicker escape them before continuing. "Try not to underestimate others so much; that could prove to be your downfall. After all, strength does come in small packages."
And thus he walked away, heading for the most dangerous district of all...
M I K H A I L R U T H E R F O R D "MAYBE I'LL TAKE YOU THERE... SOMEDAY..."
(OOC: Ok, Helga, Merlin, Marluxia, Mikhail and Max all left this thread. leaving only Milo, Mole and Jack... zexionism we're going back into normal post order between the two of us. New members can always join.)
Milo stood there watching how the crowd dispersed and started to leave. The two young men named Mikhail and Max headed to the Third District to look for survivors there. While Helga went with Merlin and Marluxia. This group he kept on watching until they were robbed from his sight. The great Merlin, in the flesh. Milo still couldn't believe the luck he had. Ever since that fateful day that Helga appeared in his apartment to take him to mister Whitmore. Ever since that moment his life hasn't been a single second of his normal routine. He was first excited about this monstrous expedition to Atlantis, then scared to death by crashing here, and then overly excited again by meeting Merlin.
Returning to the group he looked at the many soldiers that were still managing things in a very militaristic style. They had set up some provisional tents and arranged some carts to transport the wounded and supplies that weren't lost. Medics rushed on and off to treat the injured. Even though they could apply basic first aid, none were real doctors like Sweet. That reminded him, except for Mole and Helga, Milo hadn't seen anybody else from the team of specialists chosen by Whitmore for this mission. Like that guy Vinny who carried around a lot of dynamite and other explosives. If they wouldn't return with the groups that just set out, then.... no he didn't want to think about that.
Seeing as the military crew could handle themselves and he was practically useless, he took a seat at a bench nearby. Sitting down sulking a bit. There was nothing else to do but wait. He looked around at the gardens of the Zero District. Until his eye fell on Jack Styx who had stayed behind. Milo's eye's spurred open as he realized that this boy could also be a good source of necessary information. This man offered to stay behind to help them, so he wouldn't mind some questions.
Milo waved over at Jack for him to come closer. As soon as he was he started to talk: "So euh... Jack was it? So tell me, there was this thing mentioned about Heartless. Could you enlighten me about these heartless people? Are they like vikings or barbarians or something?"

Jack waved after Mikhail and Max. Though he didn't know Max, he expected for the hydromancer to become a big part of the Guardians, judging by how Mikhail seemed to be his good friend. In any case, he turned to the young man, Milo, and the strange dirt-eater, Mole.
Realizing Milo asked a question while Jack was thinking about the strange event, he answered a second too late. "What? Oh, the Heartless. Well, to be honest I'm not entirely sure. They're creatures of Darkness, I guess- beings who feed on the Darkness in peoples' hearts. I don't understand them much, myself, but I guess they're not made to be understood, right?" he said with a slight chuckle.
"But not 'people,' really. More like creatures, like I said. They can appear out of nowhere, and have to be given a good beating before they go back to wherever they're from. Not only do they feed on the Darkness in people, but also that of the worlds themselves. When they end up on a world, it's not too long before they eat the Heart (I don't understand much about that part, really), and when the Heart goes, so does the rest of it. When someone's heart is strong enough, they end up here, like I did. Here is where I met Mikhail; I'm not sure where he's from but I bet he's been exposed to this stuff a lot more than I have." He finished with a vague expression on his face, trying to fathom the past of Mikhail.
"Anyway, what are you two and that- Helga? - woman here for? Well, where were you on your way to when you crashed?"
Milo sat there listening quietly at the tale of the Heartless. Or as much as Jack could tell him that tale. Taking in the information in his brain and analyzing it. This story of the Heartless was one of the more unique stories he had ever heard. What struck him the most was the amiss of normal etymological conditions that defined the culture of origin. But this explanation of the darkness in hearts was so universal that it could come from any story or legend. After Jack was finished, Milo paused for a second, expecting more at first but then realizing that that was all he was going to get. He rolled his eyes at first while saying: "Riiight, well I must say it's an interesting folklore you have here. Not like any traditional ones that's for sure."
In the mean time, Mole was still investigating the ground. Continuously drifting off further and further for he kept finding new composites of ground and dirt. The geologist felt like a kid in a candy store.
Milo took out the Shepherds Journal from his shoulderbag and kept the ancient book in front of him. Staring at the symbol for a second before turning to Jack to answer his question. "Well you see, we're explorers undertaking one of the most important expeditions of mankind... ever. On my world there is a story about a wondrous and amazing city called Atlantis. It's supposed to have technology and knowledge superior to our own. But it was struck by a catastrophe many thousands of years ago and it sank beneath the ocean. Many believe it to be only a legend because nobody could ever find any proof. But I think it's real, only that it really wasn't a city on our world, but a complete world of it's own. If the tales about their sophisticated society are true and they would have the technology to travel between worlds. That's why nobody could ever find anything."
Milo then stood up from the bench and took a step forward, tilting his head back and gazing up to the night sky. Looking at all the stars that shine down upon him. Looking at all the worlds that are out there. "Finding Atlantis is my greatest wish, because... it was my grandfather's greatest wish. If I could bring back proof then he would be acknowledged as a great explorer." Milo then mumbled softly to himself while looking away with a slight hint of anger: "And to make those directors of the museum stop laughing at the Thatch's family name." He then turned back to Jack while concluding: "Trouble is that our route took us past your worlds and into an asteroïd field, causing our ship to suffer such damage we had to use the escape pods."
Meanwhile, Mole was still examining the ground more intensely then Sherlock Holmes ever would. His telescopic goggles extended to their full reach. Until he came across a black puddle. "Ah, Wat iz thizz, thiz iz no diiirt. l'uil, oil perrrhapzz" He pulled on the little chain coming from the top of his goggles and activated the light bulb, shining a small but bright beam on the unknown substance. To Gaetan's surprise, the puddle moved and retracted itself from the bundle of light. Mole recoiled as well, clawing his beady little hands in the air while being startled. Then he froze up as he observed how a figure slowly emerged from the black shadow. Only his extended eyes followed the movement of the strange creature that formed before him "Sacre Terre!" Was all he exclaimed while looking down the yellow eyes of the black head of a Heartless shadow. It's antenna twitching dangerously his way. It was then that Gaetan saw that more of the same creatures, about 5 in total, had gathered in front of him. "Impossible! Dey mooove tru zeee diirt without dizztuurrrbing it!" But then fear took over as they menacing started to prowl closer. With a girlish scream Mole turned around and started to run as fast as his little legs could carry him.
Milo sitting back at the bench noticed the fearful scream of Gaetan and turned to see what was going on. Seeing him run by faster then when Sweet was chasing him with water and soap. Mole ran till a large potted plant, ripped out the flower with one hand and then dove into the earth like it was water. Crawling his way down until he was completely submerged by the soil. His feet disappeared and strangely then his head appeared again. Spying outside. Milo got up from the bench and walked till the large pot asking Gaetan what could possible have come over him.
Hearing the scuffling of little feet, Milo turned around to see the 5 Shadows approach them both. He frowned while bringing his free hand up to his chin to support it while saying:" Mmm, odd little black dogs they have here."
Jack nodded to Milo's explanation of Atlantis. Very interesting concept, really. It reminded him of a legend in his homeland: In the middle of the Great Desert there was an oasis, and it's said that it was once a lot larger, and had an enormous city attached. And the clouds which existed perpetually everywhere else were absent above this city. However, a great earthquake occured and the city disappeared beneath the sand. It was said that one could find relics such as pottery fragments near the oasis, but this had yet to be proven when the world was swallowed by Darkness.
For a moment, Jack observed Mole when he disappeared behind a wall and exclaimed something. He also noticed the five Heartless which came out from behind the wall. Quickly and fluidly, Jack unsheathed his sword, Isabelle and got into a fighting stance. "Sorry to break it to you, Mr. Thatch, but these things aren't dogs, they're Heartless. For that reason, I suggest you and Mr. Moliére find somewhere to hide or at least get behind me, because these things'll rip your Heart out. Literally.
The Heartless faked jumping at him, trying to gauage his ability. Not feeling the need to joke around today, he went right for the closest one- the leftmost. He slashed at it three times with powerful strokes, easily taking it out. However, the other four were focusing on Milo and Mole, trying to defeat them. Jack jumped between the two parties to intercept.
Milo exclaimed surprised and with a fright:" Wh... what? Those are Heartless?... B..but they're real! Wuaa!" Startled Milo backed away but had forgotten about the large pot where Gaetan was hiding in. He bumped with his back against it and knocked it over. Losing his balance himself the linguïst fell onto his back. The large red pot also fell on it's side and started to roll away. Making Mole inside nauseous. Scared Milo attempted an effort to crawl back over the ground. His horrified eyes locked on the menacing Shadows that drew closer like hunters stalking their helpless prey.
A small sigh of relief occurred as Jack heroïcly jumped in between himself and the lesser Heartless. His black sweating jacket with the yellow lighting bolt symbol on his back was now really catching Milo's eye. The same symbol that was on his T-shirt on the front but with the colors reversed. This his gaze was drawn to the shiny falchion that the boy wielded. In a shimmer Milo could see his own reflection in the polished blade. Staring in awe at the fine craftsmanship.
The 4 remaining Shadows, driven by their lust for hearts, engaged in the attack. Two of them sank back into the ground. Turning to shadows while skimming over the surface till behind the brown haired teenager. Emerging again as Jack was now surrounded from all four sides. The squirming bodies readied themselves to fight. The one on his right front dashed forward to strike, immediately followed by an attack coming from his back left. The Heartless Shadow on the back right then leaped toward his head. Showing no mercy for the boy.
Milo Tatch froze up from the spectacle. Paralyzed he witnessed how ruthless and primal these Heartless really are. His heart beating fast and hard in his chest.
(For the record, 627's extra alien limbs are retracted)
627 was queitly watching the event from afar. He tucked himself within the shadows of a corner, while his dark eyes eagerly peered at the sight .... A small group of heartless monsters had materialized around some of the puny humans. No doubt at all, to steal their foolish hearts ..... "So. THESE are those Atlantis-hunting mooks that the Witch was so interested in." The red experiment thought to himself with a low giggle. 627 knew it might be best to stay behind the scenes of these events, but he loved to make himself known. For now, he'll simply play the role of that "dumb ol dog" ...
"RAAAARGH!" The furry red beast yelled as he charged out of his hiding spot and into the heat of battle.
627 pounced as quickly as he could towards one of the leaping shadow heartless. He had managed to tackle the creature in mid-air before it could lay a claw on the surrounded human (Jack). The shadow was knocked quite a few feet away from the humans, rolling uncormfortably until it stopped and was now lying on its back.
627 made another effort to stop a heartless. He pounced again towards the action, this time with less force, and punched away another leaping heartless before it could slash at Jack. This heartless was knocked hard against the ground and even bounced a few times, but quickly got back onto its feet.
The red experiment was now down on all four legs, right next to Jack's feet. 627 gave a loud bark to the human, as if trying to tell him that he has back-up ......

Jack started to move forward to attack the Heartless again, but he was startled by an animalistic yell. Luckily, the Heartless before him was too. Turning, Jack barely had time to register the small red creature with abnormally large ears, which tackled the Heartless about to attack him from behind.
Jack had no time to react, as another Heartless, the one that had been in front of him, went to attack him. Slashing down and to the right, then left at the creature, it was forced back a few feet. Jack again was surprised by the red creature, which punched another Heartless away. 'What an interesting creature," he thought to himself.
He registered the bark from the creature as re-enforcement, as intended, so he decided to trust it. It didn't look like a Heartless, anyway. Jack gave the Heartless attacked by the creature (the first one, anyway) a few strokes of his sword blade and got rid of it, forcing it to retreat to Darkness. He turned his attention to the remaning three, continuing to defend Milo and Mole, and also covering for the red creature.
"Ok, I take it back. Now that is a strange dog!" Milo said as he pointed out at the little red creature that appeared and stood at Jack's side. Helping him fight off the Heartless Shadows. Milo had crawled up and slowly backed away from the fighting. Figuring that the further he got, the safer it would be. Sneaking away like a serpent he made it till the large flowerpot where Mole was hiding in. "Mole, quickly we have to get help!" He yelled inside. The pot ground trembled a bit as his telescopic goggles extended from the dirt. And a mumbled voice echoed that caused the ceramic to resonate: "No, I ztay inzz zzeee diiirt."
Meanwhile at the battle. one of the Shadows slowly creeps closer toward the red furry creature. Seemingly curious and interested in it. The other two in front of them however were eager to eliminate them. As they attempted their assaults on Jack again.
