Name: Sophia
Nickname(optional): The Cannon Keeper
Organization XIII or Dark XII Nickname(optional): No Alliance with Any Faction
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Position: Neutral, Cannon Keeper
Organization XIII or Dark XII Position:Power(s): Crisis of Cannons:[/b] Sophia is capable of summoning a dozen of Space Cannons at once and launching a barrage of cannon fire at the enemies of her choosing. Each individual Cannon can choose to fire at one target at a time and are capable of turning at a 360 revolution to follow targets. The cannons appear from out of no where and form a straight line to either side of Sophia.
Weapon(s): Twilight Cannon -
A mystical under arm cannon measuring easily 6-7 feet long and with an octagonal diameter of nearly 1.5 feet. The cannon as a three pronged launcher barrel, and is powered by an unusual shaped star crystal that is suspended in liquid that is visible on the outside of the cannon. There is also a pair of exhaust vents on the back which double as thrusts to keep the user stationary during firing. The Twilight Cannon is held in an under arm fashion, similar to that of a minigun, with the right arm baring the grunt of the weight and load, and the left hand stabilizing the unit. The Cannon is extremely durable and made of extremely strong metals, and can double as a clubbing weapon if swung at someone. The cannon’s look is futuristic.
The Cannon can fire a beam of energy, and has two different modes, a short burst duration, and a long burst duration. During the short burst duration, the cannon can be fired in repetition with little down time but has a shorter range. As where the long burst duration as a much longer range and can have an extended duration of firing, it takes longer to recharge, and is optimal for planned attacks.
The cannon can also change from a base property in to a Blizzard, Thunder, or Fire property at command of its user. The cannon can only use one type at a time, and requires a cool down to be able to use that property again.
Blizzard Property freezes targets hit with it.
Thunder Property has a chance to hit multiple targets at once.
Fire Property does extra damage.
A picture will be available eventually.
Rapier Sword
Worn on the left side of her body, these are standard sword used by the Military in the world that Sophia is from.
Picture(optional): Appearance: Sophia appears in her mid 20s with rich autumn brown hair tied in to two small swirl buns that rests on the bottom of her head. Complete with dark Green eyes, her complexion is Caucasian and shows little signs of being from any particular part of any known world. She stands at 5 foot 9 inches, 122lbs, 34-B chest, somewhat Athletic body, but not necessarily agile. While she is friendly in nature, she doesn’t appear so, and often give off the appearance of being too serious all the time. Her body language continually gives off the impression that she is unhappy about something, but rests in a very lazy fashion at times as well. Sophia make minimal movement necessary to get some one point to another, exerting as little possible energy as possible, however, she has a horrible habit of being graceful at the same time, which lends her movement to occasionally appear like a model or like a dancer when she moves.
She is garbed in a midnight blue dress with an A-line collar and slit down the right side of the skirt as it hangs a nearly a foot from the ground. She wears an odd type of boot/heels shoes, and a short short silver jacket with long wizard sleeves. Her dress and jacket are decorated with black and brown leather bands that are merely decorative. On her jacket is an emblem which notifies others of her previous status as a Cannon Keeper. A similar emblem can be seen tattooed on her right hand..
Personality: While Friendly in nature, Sophia doesn’t appear so. She was very devoted to her pervious job, which leads to accidentally be comical in situations when doing other things, such as shopping, dating, and even ordering from a menu at a restaurant. Because she lacks formal social skills, she fumbles a lot when dealing with people in social situations, but appears quite astute when in serious situations. When dealing with people in general, she is better in situations dealing with people one on one, rather than multiple people at once.
Sophia, when she’s alone, tends to think only of her current goal, even at the point of going to exhaustion or injuring herself to obtain her goals. Though quite talented, she lacks general knowledge of most know world and relies heavily on the inhabitants and allies with her to explain the world they’re in. Sophia has also little knowledge of the Heartless or Nobodies, primarily since her original world was never touched by them. Though capable of solo work, Sophia is quick to attempt to find allies to partner with, in order to further her own goals in the process of gaining knowledge about the worlds she’s visiting. She is quick however to pop in and out of girly habits, such as fixations on cute things, modesty in the outward appearance as a woman, and general tact when dealing with other people until they inadvertently upset her, causing them to wind up on her “Hit List” until they find a way back in to her good favor.
She is a capable assistant type fighter, preferring a high ground so that she can attack from a distance and successfully pick off enemies with out fear of getting hurt at all. When enemies are mid range or up close, she with pummel her enemies using the Twilight Cannon, or position the cannon’s barrel in to the enemy and lock them on to the ground or thrust them up in to the air and then fire the cannon.
Sophia is very much afraid of open bodies of water such as: lakes, open sea, swimming pools deeper than 5 feet, and including, but not limited to, the rain. Depending on the severity of the need, Sophia can travel through these bodies of water, but will not enjoy it and will be very nervous about doing so, fearing she could drown at any given moment. Sophia has a love for oddly shaped charms and simple contraptions, such as small toys, finding them odd and entertaining. This leads Sophia to be interested in Keyblade wielders since there keyblades have dangling charms on them.
Original World: Moon Port (Treasure Planet)
Current Residing World: Destiny Islands
History/Background:Adopted at Birth, Sophia was raised in the world of Treasure Planet, a futuristic take on what Earth may eventually look like. In this world, Aliens, robotics, spaceships, and even futuristic weapons and are not unusual. Despite her slightly unusual appearance, Sophia was raised by foster parents who took her in after finding her abandoned on there door step. It is speculated that she may not have been born in the world of Treasure Planet, but of another.
Despite the pirates, military, traders, and merchants of Moon Port, Sophia was raised rather proper by her foster parents, her dad an Officer in the Navy who was rarely at home, and her Mother a Shop Keeper. When she was old enough, Sophia herself joined the Navy in hoping of being closer to her father, and became a Cannon Keeper, a type of weapons Officer that looks after various types of weapons from simple swords and laser pistols, to heavy cannons for ships and forts. However, despite a career of great skill and devotion, Sophia had never left Moon Port on a ship for fear of the vastness of open space for fear of being lost in it.
One day while at work, doing maintenance on a series of Space Cannons for a fleet ship, Sophia witnessed and overheard a conversation between two gentlemen, a voice at which she understood and knew as a High Ranking Admiral, but the other voice was familiar but she couldn’t necessarily place it right away, talking about a mysterious planet that might hold the remains of Captain Flint’s treasure, a legendary space Pirate. No sooner had it finished that gun fire had broken out, and her Father was seen being taken away. Sophia quickly ran home to tell her Mother, but found the shop they owned completely burned down, along with her foster Mother inside. Sophia quickly disappeared in to the night afterwards for fear that she would be targeted next.
She soon came to realize over the next few days that her father had learned of the fabled Treasure Planet and its location, but refused to give it up. Because he wouldn’t tell of its location for fear of its treasures being used for evil, he was thrown in to an asylum so that we would never be seen again. Sophia, unable to see this happen to her father, gathered together some gear, a ship, and some weapons, including a prototype ship cannon, known as the Twilight Cannon, and set off to find the fabled Planet using her Father’s Captain’s Journal as a guide. After nearly 2 months in that vastness of space, she found the Treasure Planet, only to be greeted by the Navy and Admiral she had over heard, who had unknowingly been in pursuit of Sophia the entire time. Inches away from a Portal System, which was used by Captain Flint to ambush other ships, Sophia initiated a trap in the Portal System which locked out all people from entering the actual Treasure within the Center of the planet.
In anger, the Admiral pushed Sophia through the portal before the system could finish shut down, and she accidentally fell through the trap, bring transported to Hollow Bastion in the process. However, she holds her Father’s Journal still, leaving her with the only known passwords and keys to gaining access to the treasure with in the planet. Now stuck in Destiny Islands, Sophia is looking to try and find a way to travel back to her own world in order to get back to the Treasure Planet and save her Father.
Role Playing Sample:’Even the innocent get can hurt, and when the innocent get hurt, they cease to be innocent. Despite the honest work, the honest desire to serve her country, and even her people, a young woman ceased to be innocent… GAHHHH!!!’ what once had been an immaculate journal book was quickly becoming nothing more than a collection of ripped out pages thrown over board in favor of perhaps a memorable journal entry. Though try as she might, its author was nothing short of speechless in gathering her thoughts on to paper in a way that was going to make it seem as though this was some epic tale. Perhaps it wasn’t, but atleast she’d love to leave a lasting memory that it might have been.
“Darlin’! About time you come top side, we’re nearly there,” a voice came from beyond the door way of the small galley room, though it was the voice you heard from not from a handsome man, but that of a creature of pure corruption and greed. A voice that only a mother could love, if just for a second before she threw the vile creature in to the river notified the young woman of her arrival was nearing, but sneered at the thought as though there was something much expected from the woman upon arrival. When she finally discarded the notions of writing an epic entry in to her own journal, she tossed it aside in favor of another and head up to the decks above, where curious creatures of unknown origin worked hard to keep this floating space ship made of wood and sail float in the vastness of space.
On deck, the young woman was a creature of curiosity for the crew. Dressed entirely in a blue dress and mini coat, her hair in a pair of low hanging buns on the back of her head, and her face as pretty as a peach, she certainly didn’t look like the type of treasure seeker, much less the type of person you would except to find on a ship infested with Pirates out for nothing more than gold. Even the most evil and greed of them however seemed to stay away from her, but all were thinking similar the same thing about the lone woman on the ship. Not that of her body, but of what awaited them once she had arrived, “Honey, we’re nearly there, and from out scans, there’s nothing on that planet but trees and dirt. If you have…”
“I do believe you’re in for quite the reward, and don’t forget, that the Navy is behind us as well. My ass is on the line much as is yours. It’s in your best interest to trust me, since you’ll be stinking rich after this,” she cut off the original alien that had gotten her, the supposed Captain of the ship was not too pleased to be out in the middle of no where, but that where you’d expect to find treasure beyond your wildest dreams, and beyond these pirate’s wildest dreams was surely going to be come a reality. The woman had plotted a course deep in to the universe and in to the heart of space toward the legendary space pirate, Captain Flint’s legendary treasure.
According to the journal from her father, he had stumbled upon a map leading the planet, but in order to bargain for the safety of his crew, he gave up the map to Pirates who had attacked his ship. Thankfully, the details of the map were already recorded in his journal, along with the details regarding how to get to the treasure once someone were to arrive there. Soon, his daughter would be the one to claim the treasure, but not for riches or for spoils, “I’m coming dad.”
“What was that darl’n?” a snide remark from the Captain as he hissed with his tongue over the woman’s words. He might have been scum of the earth, but he was still somewhat of a gentleman, “Think of dear old dad. Offly noble of ya to give us this treasure for his sake.”
“The treasure alone is enough to clear my father’s name, you’re welcome to what ever of it you desire. Any other day I would be along side those brutes behind us, hunting your kind down,” she spoke herself with distain and hatred for her companions, much as they detested her in the same way. Being from the Navy, she was not only hated for being on the ship, but the ire of the entire crew which was now being chased by the Navy directly behind them. There was little to suggest that they would have been followed, but it’s the risk a pirate faces day in and day out, but today was just not there day.
“Ah yes, who would have thought a Cannon Keeper would hijack a Pirate’s Ship and force them to treasure. You’re quite an oddity hu-man!” the Captain paraded around Sophia similar to a puppet, but dare only as a puppet, for she had an advantage over the crew that could not be forgotten, plus money and glory are always great way to motivate people.
“Admiral , we’re closing in on the pirates!” a simple ensign saluted his commanding officer as he proceeded to suck up to the prestigious Admiral of the Royal Navy. It had been a long time since the Admiral had been out of port, but for such an occasion, it was necessary to chase pirates, since they had both a treasure map and a woman all wrapped in to a pretty little package.
“Excellent, and what of our missing Cannon Keeper, is she onboard?” the Admiral voice was nothing short of a pompous and arrogant booming voice that was not only proud of his actions, but beyond mentioning of his own glory. It was the type of voice you’d hate to have to listen to time and time again, but if you were being led to war by it, you atleast knew you were going to win the war. His voice was no different form himself, dressed in curls down his head, his prim and proper Navy uniform was the picture of perfection as far as navel uniforms go, complete with the infinite number of metals decorated down his left breast.
“Yes sir, we have had sightings of Sophia on deck just a short while ago!” the ensign replied once again.
“Good, begin firing on the ship and disable it before it reaches the planet!” shouted the Admiral to the entire crew, who hastily made pace to catch up to his orders.
“Aye Aye SIR!”
“Quickly, to that portal junction by the planet’s moon!” Sophia commanded her own would be crew, as they began dodging cannon fire from there navel pursuers. The moon was small, definitely not big enough to support much life, but big enough to hold a small port perhaps. After taking a few hits themselves, the Pirates eventually made land fall on to the moon’s tiny port, which all the side of a small dock to be honest, big enough for just a few dozen people to get on to with out falling off in the bleakness of space. Making there way to the dock was a lot like crashing in to it, though instead of destroying the entire ship, only part of it was damaged, along with the docks, as it slammed in to it with enough force to otherwise take the entire with it. Surely a better landing was expected but with cannon fire taking out there main engines, there was little to save them from this disaster,
“ABANDON SHIP!” everyone cried in pace as they shouted from left to right, following the captain’s own orders which could barely be heard over the fire and explosions on the ship. Soon the ship would be nothing for then an expensive fuel source for the fires breaking out on board, and true to the appearance of a burning ship, it was quickly an erupting display of explosions and fire as the last of the pirates escaped the ships with barely there lives.
Sophia had been among the first to abandon the ship, wielding her Father’s Journal in her hands as she ran toward a machine display at the end of the docks. It was a large, mechanical ring with a swirling purple wave of energy with in it, a portal generator that was easily a few decades old from current technology. Sophia quickly burst over to the input display, beginning to type in all various codes and passwords, quickly trying to open the portal so that she and her villainous crew would be safe from capture. Hastily she typed, but the each passing second, the Navy and there crew were landing at the docks, and just as quickly, disembarking off the ship in chase of the few remaining pirates. Though she was attempting to start up the machine properly so that none of them got fried in the process of getting their treasure, she was quick to also demand orders from a crew who rarely listen to them, “I need more time, hold them off!”
Gun fire was quick to take place, from both sides. The Navy’s numbers were great, but atleast the pirates had minimal coverage, but it was soon becoming unimportant as the Navy has far more superior weapons in comparison to the pirates. Pirates were being picked off one by one as they removed themselves from cover in order to get in a few shots at the navel crew men fighting against them. Soon only a two remained, the Captain of the pirate’s vessel and Sophia herself, who was still waiting for the portal generator to finish powering on. A few years of not being used, and it was suddenly becoming a life of death struggle to survive while it was turning on, only the pirates would be so unlucky.
Sophia had done all she could for now and had finished prepping the portal generator, all that remained was a few minutes for it to finally finish turning on and then a password in order to enter the treasure vault. Despite her small size in comparison to the lone Captain, she was not afraid, and pushed him aside, “Out of my way!”
Holding her right arm out, swirling light gathered up and down her arm, producing a large metal cylinder like object that ran down her arm. When it was finished being summoned, this unwieldy piece of machinery seemed partially grafted on to Sophia’s right arm, as she picked up the adjacent handle for her left hand to stabilize the contraption and held it parallel to the ground. She then turned from her safe spot of hiding and cover, and turned to face the navel marines who had parked themselves out on the dock like a shooting gallery. With one click of a trigger, a massive beam of energy ripped out of the machine and forward to the docks, crashing in to the navy’s men and blasting them to pieces. The knock back from the machine was minimal, but the sheer power of the machine could be quickly understood as it was nothing more than a modified space cannon, though much more powerful than was to be expected. Once she had discharged three more shots from the cannon mounted to her arm, she proceeded back to the task at hand, opening the portal, “There, that ought to hold them…”
She would had continued her thoughts aloud had it not been for the gun pointed to her head by her associate, the pirate Captain. Everything that was needed to be said was collected in a single act of pointing the gun in Sophia’s face, as though it was to be expected from a creature with the world’s biggest grin, “Thank you darl’n, you been of so much assistance to me. Now, activate the portal!”
With a gun to her face and her existence at stake, Sophia had little choice but to give in to his demands. She didn’t even get a chance to release her own weapon, which if she had fired at the Captain, would have destroyed the portal generator, leaving few options but to comply. There was merely one button left to push to activate the portal, and with a simple press of a button, the machine jumped to life and the wave of energy with in the mechanical ring finally showed signs of light as they swirled around each other in various direction. With the incentive being all the treasure you could ever possible want, the Captain made a bold move diving in to the portal, leaving Sophia behind before he could even whisper a good bye.
This left Sophia all to herself, since having to activate the machine, the navel crew had finally stormed in on Sophia’s position, and she was corned with no where but the portal to go. Once again, Sophia was in a horrible position with her own weapon, since if she fired, she would destroy the portal generator, cutting her off from the treasure and the only known way to save her father. Just as began pointing her weapon to the ground, the Admiral had shown up himself, wielding a grin just as big as the Captains, “As Miss Sophia, how nice of you to had done all the work for us. Shame you won’t be reaping any of this treasure.”
“You want treasure, go for yourself, the portal’s already open. Let my father go and we’ll call it a day,” she had nothing to wager, nothing to bet, or did she?
“Afraid we’re not letting people out of asylums just yet, see we have this thing called a government, and ofcourse, government is only as powerful as its Navy. So you can imagine how the system works, you did work for it didn’t you,” the Navy wasn’t necessarily corrupt, but then again, some people in it were. When you’re a country, you’re only as strong as your military, and sometimes, you have to given in to your military’s corruption in order for it to continue to protect you. The Admiral was just such a person.
“You sake of lies, how can you do this to my father, he’s been with the navy all his life!” Sophia demanded answers, she was in no position to expect to get them, but demand she did. The portal was beginning to do something a bit unusual, and instead of a glowing swirl of energy twisting in all direction, flashes of various places began showing. This was highly unusual for a portal.
“Your father deserves to be where he is. Only a crazy man wouldn’t share riches and fortune with his fellow man. Pity you won’t be joining him!” he shouted in laughter, kicking Sophia in the chest one last time before she was hurled in the portal’s swirling energies. Twisted and turned, her body collapsed in to the portal never to be seen again, “Pity the portal isn’t initialized just yet. I hear when you jump in to it too soon, you get torn to piece and compacted in to little tiny bits on the other side. I guess we’ll see all of you in just a little bit Miss Sophia, that’s if we recognize you that is. HAHAHAHAHAHA…..”
The bone chilling laugh as that last Sophia heard as she was forcibly thrown in to the portal, disappearing in to its mystical energies quicker than you could imagine. Falling faster and faster, thought it wasn’t necessarily apparent, Sophia hadn’t been crushed like the Admiral had imagined, and instead, Sophia was transported just like the portal would have otherwise done before hand. Her fall seemed to last forever, much as she had expected it to, but only for about 15 feet up in to the air before landing in a clump of sand. The awkward thud on to the ground was not only unusual and very unnatural for Sophia, who had momentarily passed out and assumed her life was over when she could not clear her father’s name, and all her hard work had been rendered obsolete.
Sophia stirred awake rather suddenly in a mix of daze, confusion, and sand. Instantly when she spun up, her head shook left and right trying to figure out if this was the actual treasure, a dream of the afterlife, or just a horrible joke. Panic was quick to set in, though that was to be expected, since all around her was the tranquil sounds of the seat, the warm mid day sand, and the sudden audience of a small town just behind her. With the look on her face was possibly the most frightened and shocked look that could exist the sudden realization was that she was not only alive, but this wasn’t the treasure, and this wasn’t even close to where she was from.
“Hey there lady?” Sophia twisted around, still brandishing her cannon, pointing it at the small little girl that was right behind her. Sophia had been prepared to shoot the little girl, but it was not necessary since such a tiny creature was barely three feet tall and pig tails coming out of her hair, twisting back and forth with the light breeze as though attempting to be cute. Despite the rather large metallic weapon pointed in her face, the little girl seem undisturbed, “What cha doing?”
“Where is this?!?” in a blood panicked rage she shouted out, as though questioning the entire nature of what was going on. The peacefulness of the surrounding area was all a little much for Sophia, what with having been in a massive gun fight just moments ago. All in all, the sudden change was not to be expected and Sophia lowered her weapon on realizing that in her desire to for answers, this little girl, who was innocent of it all, didn’t need to be threatened for answers.
“Destiny Islands ofcourse,” the little girl responded, tilting her head as tough like a trained animal trying to figure out what was wrong with the woman who looked lightly out of place, “You okay lady?”
“Destiny? Islands?” her whispers could be heard easily as she muttered to herself. The logic of it all was not lost on her, just forgotten once she heard the name. It was a name she had heard before, but not recognized right away. She reached behind her back and produced her fathers book, to which she started flipping through once she discarded her cannon in to the ethereal space it once came from. Page by page, she knew she had seen it written before somewhere. This was the only book she had, it had to be in here, it had to!
’Despite my best efforts to record everything from the map sphere, the one thing I did learn about Captain Flint was that he was very paranoid about people finding his treasure. To that extent, and from what I’ve been able to learn from the map sphere, it seems that the portal generator has a trap, incase people don’t put in the password in to the system. After someone enters the portal, it will shoot them out else where, to a different world. Captain Flint didn’t exaggerate on the details of where someone would be spitted out to,’ almost randomly she had stopped at this page, an entry about the original map Sophia’s father had found. This explained why she wasn’t dead just yet, and why she was still very much alive, but not why she was some place called Destiny Islands at all.
Sophia combed through the book some more, looking for any trace thought or writing her father had had regarding this Destiny Islands, and then she found it, reading it aloud since it was suddenly important, “ ‘Lodged in the map sphere was a second map. It seems like this world is one of many other worlds that exists. It would mean that more people exist outside of our universe. I was able to jot down all the names of the worlds, but many apparently have yet to been explored yet. The map however is a loss, as I write this, the Pirates are boarding the ship, and I want to get as much as I can before they find me.”
“That was written just a day after he first found the map sphere to the treasure. Destiny Islands was one of the names he wrote down. That means I’m in one of those other worlds he spoke of. But how do I get back? I got to get back home!” Sophia looked at the little girl, who had disappeared, skipping down the sand with out a care in the world. Darting her head from side to side again, there was nothing to save her, no easy portal to jump back through, no space port, not even a sign of a robot anywhere. Was sure truly gone from her world and stuck in another? “How am I going to get back?”
Questions/Comments/Suggestions?I would love my char to be a keyblade user, but I’ve gathered that keyblade users are far and few in between, so I would understand if I’m not one of them. Maybe one day.
